The ambiance is pretty bar-like, complete with video games, a pool table, and an attached pickle ball court, but the food and service are consistently great. Food....SPOT ON!! I just had a burger but it was a smashed burger and really great quality beef. Also the Pemsan truffle fries were pretty much the bomb. My husband had the bull bites and he said they were above average. Gets them almost everywhere we go so I think this is saying a lot! Great downtown location. Excellent outdoor patio. Great prices. Overall I say give this place a try when you are in town. I will be back. Hubby wants to try the burger because he was jealous. read more

We tried. Thats the best i can say. We were seated right away (cause you sit wherever you want) and wasn't really busy at all in the bar. We are talking three tables small parties and two at the bar.. server who i think might be a mgr. unsure but he grabbed our order and then disappeared to chat with other locals. 25 minutes went by... and finally i asked him if he had an eta of when ours would be ready as a table that was after us already had gotten their food..while he was putting in another tables order that had just came in he looked at me like i had horns coming out of my head (and he was lucky it was me asking politely vs my husband who was already annoyed dealing with hungry tweens and traveling and needing food) ...response was it would be soon. Fast forward 10 minutes later approached.. he never put it in. Never Wrote it down and now we start all over again...lame! 15 min later food is dropped. It was meh. Food wasn't what others claim to be amazing. I can honestly say we wont be back. And we are up this way every other weekend and one of the few times we decide to eat in town kinda sucks! Place was dope and biker friendly. The alley entrance has a place for your bikes which me and my buddy didn't realize. They also had a meat raffle going which made for a fun time. This was our first stop in Crosby. Dan, our server, was extremely nice and had great recommendations. As soon as we walked in, I smelled ribs and sure enough they were on special that night. My husband got the broasted chicken - roasted and deep friend to perfection. We each got mashed potatoes, corn and a dinner roll with our meal. We met our daughter here for a late lunch today! She told us generally a solid menu and she was correct!! Lot of nice choices making it a little hard! The dining room is update and bright! They have a nice patio as well. Staff was pleasant and timely! Definitely would return and try out the patio and adult beverages. read more

Great food (yes-try the broasted chicken!), nice local (and national) brews on tap, good service for a busy place on Sunday evening! The broccoli cheese soup was creamy and warming to my soul. I chose the wings with the dry rub (they were good, but not as good as the broasted chicken). Lots of food to enjoy, along with the atmosphere. It's a family friendly Northern Minnesota "dive" bar, with a good selection of decent food. Everyone in our group of six was happy with their meal, including the children. Best of all, it was very easy to order online and pick up to take home to eat, avoiding the pandemic. Kids were shooting pool when we picked up, seemed like a fun place. I had the fish and chips, and my young companion pointed out that it was a decent job of breading. We all hate when the fish is all breading, but this fish was all fish and " The correct amount of breading". It was such a generous portion that I only ate half of my meal... perhaps they should offer a smaller size. The french fries were just so so, but the others in my party who had upgraded to the Parmesan truffle fries definitely made the right choice. Those were delicious! I was afraid they would be too truffley, but it was just the right amount of truffle oil. Two guys in our party had the black bean burger, and it was quite an impressive size, and appeared handmade. The guacamole that it came with was delicious! We were told the meat burgers were also pretty huge. Another in our party said if you go to the bar, get the Old Fashioned- generous pour, and it comes with those huge artisan ice cubes. Looking forward to trying that next time. read more

We have a gluten allergy in our family and while they don't have a gluten free menu or specific gluten free items, they very happily accommodated our request to modify a dish so it was gluten free and it was fabulous! I love Trailside. It has maintained a great small town bar feel. The staff are always awesome and friendly. Matthew the bartender is the best! The back patio has bike parking (and a place to let your stuff dry out) which is appreciated! I wish the ribs were still on the menu, they are soooo good. After a long day of biking we stopped here for some dinner. The cheese curd squares were amazing and the rest of the food was also great. Sat on the back patio and enjoyed a local beer. The owner stopped out to chat and gave us some tips on where to bike the next day and told us about a rope swing near our camp for the kids to check out. read more

Quality has declined since my last review. You can get bad service & food is not consistent. In fairness still not bad. I complained nicely to the owner, he aggressively followed me outside told me not come again! I have been coming here for two years, the owner is an unstable special sort of person.
