We called in an order for carryout of the Large Family Pack as listed on the menu. The description states: "Feeds five to six people. Three pounds of meat, five large side orders, pickles, onions and a loaf of bread." The price on their website is listed as $74.99. We ordered a total of three pounds of meat (1 lb sliced brisket, 1/2 lb chopped brisket, 1/2 lb pulled pork, 1/2 lb sausage, and 1/2 lb bologna) along with five sides: coleslaw, potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, and corn on the cob. When my wife got home, the receipt showed a $99.50 subtotal, with every item rung up individually instead of as the Large Family Pack. Assuming it was a mistake, we called to have it corrected. Instead, we were told that we "ordered wrong" because the three pounds of meat were different types. This was never mentioned when we placed the order, nor were we told there would be an upcharge or that this wasn't allowed. When I asked why this wasn't explained at the time of ordering, there was no clear answer. Additionally, the meal is advertised as feeding five to six people, yet the corn on the cob portion consisted of only three half-ears. That hardly seems reasonable for a meal of that size. The food itself was decent, but the unexpected overcharge and being blamed for "ordering wrong" left a very poor impression.

This place was amazing! The food is so tasty! The service was above and beyond. I would highly recommend this place especially for breakfast!

Quick, fast service, even at straight up noon. Food was hot, freshly made and was satisfying.

Absolutely delicious BBQ! Visiting from out of town so I was dining alone. Ordered a 3 meat combo, ribs, sliced brisket and hot link, along with baked beans and potato salad! Ok, all the meats were on point! Tender, juicy, hot, fresh. Definitely nothing was sitting around here all day. Brisket was nice n thick, but still tender and juicy. The hot links, gotta be house made! Hot enough so you feel it, but not . Ribs are tender, yet not falling off the bones. Perfect. Beans gotta be a house recipe. The potato salad on the other hand taste like it comes out of a bucket. Finally, I'm halfway thru my dinner and the lovely young server asks me if I'd some some "complimentary cobler".. would I like some cobler... lol. Hot, strawberry/rhubarb cobler... yum!! Overall, this is a solid bbq joint! Next trip, I'll be back!!

On an errand to Owasso my wife suggested Trails end for dinner. I almost always up for BBQ. We arrived about an hour before closing. I ordered a (standard bbq meal) of a 2 meat combo including Ribs, Chopped Brisket, baked beans and potato salad. They hit a home run. The ribs were as tender and tasty as you would wish. They has a smooth smoky flavor with no harsh notes. The brisket was tender almost to the point of a mush but stop short of being unpleasantly so. The potato salad was adequate with the appropriate creamy texture and properly cooked potato cubes. The supporting vinegary flavor agents were just strong enough to cut the acid flavors of the bbq. The baked beans were passable with a tomatoey base that stayed within bounds. Not prize worthy but supporting the meal alright. A definite must return spot for real, traditional bbq.

"We don't chain smoke," Trails End boasts on its tables. You'll notice that difference when you compare the ribs here with those from Owosso's two chain BBQ locations. Served dry (unsauced) the ribs had a solid dry rub bark. No sauce necessary. Wednesdays and Thursdays the ribs are all you can eat. On other days the third of a rack (4 ribs) plate is still filling. Two sides are included. Green beans were perfectly seasoned with bacon bits. The creamy coleslaw was dry to my taste though others might find it very satisfactory. Service on a Wednesday night was attentive without being intrusive. Very reasonably priced.

Decided to just do some BBQ research in Owasso.... so today I headed to Billy Sim's BBQ for lunch…read more I ordered the 2 meat dinner with pulled pork and bologna, beans and potato salad, water to drink. Ordering is simple and not at all confusing. Read from a simple menu, place your order and get in the line to the cash register. Honestly the dude behind the counter was less than congenial, but it didn't impact my lunch or my review. Food was ready soon enough, given the 5 people ahead of me, so I count that as speedy enough. Food, in tasting order.... The toast.... definitely not the star of the plate. Texas toast instead of regular sliced, so it was more dense and chewy, and only toasted on one side. Who does that? And it wasn't hot or fresh. You could tell it'd been toasted and held for a while. But, you don't go to a BBQ joint for the toast, so that is what it is. The beans.... BS does what they call 'cowboy beans', and they're good, if not a little one-note. Basically they were canned pork and beans with some meat thrown in and a splash or two of BBQ sauce. I doubt they'd seen the inside of a smoker. They were fine, but they could have been oh so much more with just a little time and effort. The potato salad.... tender, creamy and packing a subtle but noticeable tang. I wouldn't call it outstanding, but it was a definite addition to the plate. The pulled pork... while having a moderate smoky flavor, it was also dry, lacking any of that fatty, juicy mouth feel that a good pulled pork should have. And, it got cold really quickly, so I suspect their holding process needs to be tweaked. You can hold pulled pork for a good long time without it drying out if you make the effort. The few bits of bark I got were outstanding, they were just few and far between. The bologna... sliced sandwich thin, there were at least 2 slices. It was pretty well done.... good taste, texture and mouth feel. I felt a little miffed at how thin it was sliced, but I readily admit that's just me. When I do it at home, it's sliced nearly 1/2" thick so you get a good bite. Again, not a detraction here, just an observation. The meats are 1/4lb each, clearly stated when you order, so you know what you're getting. Personally, I think the portions were a bit light for the money, but I don't run a restaurant and I'm not privy to BS's P&L statements, so that will just remain an opinion and nothing more. Cost ran to $19.51 for lunch, which is about a buck more than OJ's, but I also got a tad more food and it was a whole lot better, so I think value wise, BS nosed out a win on that score.

This past weekend, I was in Oklahoma and stopped by Billy Sims BBQ with my family. This is an order-at-the-counter place with self-serve drinks. I told the guy who took my order that I am celiac and he instinctively grabbed a piece of bread to put in the toaster, caught himself and asked me if I wanted him to change gloves. He and the manager told me that their potato salad, their meats and their sauces are gluten-free! Aside from their $5.99 sandwich and drink deal which is an amazing value but not gluten-free (my husband ordered it for himself) we got a few items to share with family. For $21.99 we got a 3 meat plate which came with 2 sides, pickles, peppers, onions and a slice of bread (obviously I didn't get bread.) I chose the polish sausage, sliced brisket and pulled pork along with double potato salad. My other family members ordered the $12.99 smothered baked potato (jacket potato) that comes with butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, meat, sauce. They wanted to split it so the potato pictured is only half of the potato! It's huge! This is a casual restaurant chain owned by a former local footballer, and there are locations in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Michigan in the USA. While the brisket was a tad dry for my tastes, I enjoyed all the sauces, the other meats and sides. The service was great and the price was a fantastic value. Visited: April 2024

We had the cauliflower and also the brussels sprouts. Yum! I tried to twisted pineapple drink, very good and very sweet. And I had the Brandy Alexander drink. Very tasty as well. But.... I ordered something I had never tried before, the peppercorn steak. There were two other ladies at my table that ordered it as well. I'm guessing it must be put into the description next time for everyone else, but we were all not aware it would come out ice cold. And I'm not joking when I say it was extremely cold and the sauce on top was Like it came right out of the refrigerator and poured on. I felt bad because the lady next to me had never been here before. So that is her one and so far only experience with smoke. I doubt they would ever return. Again, if it's going to come out cold and maybe that's how it is served, it would be nice if it had said so in the description. I would've gotten the normal Wagyu burger, which is always amazing. Or a different steak. I'm only giving three stars because the service was outstanding. The main entrée should've been but definitely was not.
