The place was absolutely terrible. The food was mediocre, the service was ok, the only good thing was the guy playing guitar. If you come here, get ready to wait 1 hour +! read more

Folks on the east side of Bloomington hopefully know how good they have it by having Trailhead Pizzeria nearby. Living on the west side of town, we've got some good places to choose from, but nothing like Trailhead. This pizza is a singular experience. For most of town, when you think of locally owned places, you think of Aver's, Pizza X, and Mother Bears. All great places. HOWEVER.... On the east side.. if you're willing to drive a bit, there is a little chunk of beauty known as Trailhead. Super casual. They seem to do a lot of pick up business. We were on the east side tonight, and I was trying to think of a place to eat that was unique to the east side. Trailhead! We got there around 6, and it was pretty quiet. The server was very nice and attentive. Our meal was simple, a pepperoni pie with a side of cheese bread. I do not have words for how good that cheese bread was. I don't know how or where they slip the garlic in, but they do it in a way that helps the flavors blend beautifully. Everything was hot and wonderfully cheesy in a proper pizza way. The pizza itself was cooked very well, with their amazing crust. I intentionally ordered more than I could eat just so I would have leftovers to look forward to. This place is an easy 5 stars. The interior of the place is nothing special, like I said, super casual. If you are anywhere near the area, check them out. They are just simply so good. Period. They once had a location downtown, which is how I discovered them in the first place. Hoping they try for a second location again sometime so more people can experience this amazing food. read more

We waited an hour for them to tell us they lost our order. I would NOT recommend this place

The pizza is going downhill - hardly any toppings on it. Disappointing for $27. Please go back to how it used to be!

One of the best pizzas I have ever had! The sauce is very tasty! Good beer options also. The service was quick and friendly. The space is big with lots of wood to make it feel cozy and inviting. We camped at Monroe Lake and it was just up the street! Definitely going to go back! read more

Tried to order over the phone, and they refused to honor the prices advertised on their website. I was trying to just order directly to support the business, cause we previously had good experiences there, and was surprised when the bill was $12 more than ordering online would've cost. Asked for an explanation, and an incredibly condescending manager named TJ said that they "use 8oz of less cheese" on online orders, and couldn't give me the prices listed on their own website. I was truly baffled, and rather than helping me out, TJ said "it would take 30 minutes to explain it to you" and told me to either pay what they demanded or cancel my order. Take-out/Delivery customers beware! A super confusing and contradictory system, and anything but complete obedience is met with a bad attitude. Too bad, this place used to be great. not once but twice I placed a pickup order and it's been twice the estimated wait time. due to "it not being transferred from the tablet" - quote employee. I'm not normally one to be upset about things but both times we've been traveling and it's taken 50+ minutes for a medium pizza when the quote time was 15-30. good pizza but not that good read more

We cannot say enough great things about Trailhead Pizza! We had the Bonfire Pizza - top 3 pizzas we've ever eaten! Homemade dough was just icing on the cake! The people and service were fabulous - Sarah made us feel right at home. They offer draft beer and specialty cocktails, too! Not to mention, live music every Friday and Saturday. If you haven't already, you need to check this place out! We'll be back!! read more

Very pleasant first experience at Trailhead Pizza tonight. We ordered the 446 Supreme and it was delicious! We asked them to hold the onions and that was no problem for them. The breadsticks got even worse since my last review. I thought they were bad before.. but man..I'm only giving 3 stars bc the pizza was good. But the breadsticks went from being the best in Bloomington to the worst. Like when you're putting them in the bag after making them do you not notice that they look like large turds?? I love this place. It makes me feel like I am on vacation and that summer is around the corner or here. The service can be spotty and take a long time (you have been warned). That being said, we have been making it our Friday night regular with another couple. The live music has been awesome (sometimes a little loud for conversation, but we are ok with that). Now, this is what you really need to know. THE RANCH IS SO GOOD. I don't know what the heck they are doing in that kitchen, but it involves dill and results in the best ranch ever. The salads are huge and fresh. The breadsticks are binge worthy. The pizzas have always been amazing, love the crust! My latest fav, the basil margarita - yummo! read more

Pizza, breadsticks and salad all great. Highly recommend the bbq pizza with jalapeños- was a great combination of sweet and spicy!

Awful! Ordered two pizzas, two orders of breadsticks with sauce. Took THREE HOURS to be delivered. When delivered, driver WALKED IN THE HOUSE without knocking or anything. Honestly, the worst experience and the food wasn't even that good and obviously cold, and they didn't bring the sauces for the breadsticks. read more

Staff was friendly, despite the fact that we showed up before they were even open, and the pizza and cheese sticks were very tasty.

Enjoyed our pizza and service. They were great. The pizza was delicious and we liked the way we were treated.

Absolutely terrible! Ordered several pizzas the cheese looked black so I asked about it and was told they ran out and the owner went to kroger and bought cheese. Paid $27 for a pizza that was not worth it. They are always out of something. This place used to have a good bartender and food but now it's ran by kids and not worth it. Save your time and $$. And the place is so dirty! read more

Four stars for pizza. Called at opening to place a to go order. Pizza was ready for pick up 25 minutes later at the time promised. The sauce was more tomato-like than others, which I liked. The toppings were plentiful and the cheese was perfectly baked. The breadsticks were on the "heavy" side and denser than preferred but were baked and seasoned well. The chocolate cookie was wonderful and baked with the right amount of chips. Multiple options for receipt of order - outdoor dining, curbside, and to go. Owner was receptive and addressed a problem that occurred promptly. For those near Hardin Ridge or Payneville SRA - great alternative to campsite cooking. Give this business a try. read more

Went for pizza before heading to the lake. Service was not good. I asked 45 minutes in if our breadsticks were ready. The server indicated they only had one oven working and she has been checking. No harm, no foul. After another 5 minutes our breadsticks and pizzas came out and both were not even warm. When she asked how everything was going, I said there is no way these just came out of the oven and she was defensive saying she was working the patio, the dining room, and the other side. I would have been fine if she would have told me that from the beginning as we don't typically complain. Unfortunately, she lied and server is cold pizza and breadsticks. Called tonight to be put on hold for 10 minutes. Hung up, called back and they immediately hung up on me 2 times. After that, I called and was placed on hold for 10 minutes again. Called back and hung up on. Called again and immediately asked me to hold. Waited 10 more minutes and then drove to store. Total of 30 minutes waiting. I showed up at the store to order it carry out and she told me they were out of cheese. I asked why she couldn't have told me that when she answered the phone. She told me she didn't know they were out of cheese. They didn't want to take my order on a busy weekend. Would be nice if they would have just told me that. I asked for a manager and she was the manager. Facepalm. read more

Trailhead pizza is far out of town - close to Paynestown SRA and the Pinegrove boat ramp. It would be a great stop after a day at the lake. We went on a Friday night for the live music. The dining room was packed with multigenerational families from babies to grandparents. There are board games available for kids while they waited. We enjoyed our food - cheese sticks, roasted Brussels sprouts, pizza and beer. Our server was wonderful- he was very accommodating about our long winded and complex pizza order and friends that kept showing up late! Pizza was delicious with a chewy bubbly crust. A fun night out with the family! read more

Trailhead Pizzeria - 16" Margarita 1/2 without cheese - Pizza Near Me - Bloomington, Indiana

So I have done dine in at this place and had delivery . Let's starts off by saying the food is great ... Especially their cheesy bread . Not sure if anyone remembers Mad Mushrooms cheese bread but it's identical to that and it's amazing . And it comes with dipping sauce ... You must try them all, especially the Alfredo ! While I'll admit this place is a little outta the way , we decided to go one night when they had live music, which makes a pizza dinner seem more enjoyable . The service was great ! Atmosphere was a little hectic but overall really enjoyed it. Now about this DELIVERY system they have going on .... Unreal . We were told it would be delivered in 30 min ... Cool ... Until an hour passed and we had to call and check on our order . The girl in the phone said "sorry ...Our driver just left, its on its way" another 45 min later our pizza did arrive . Cold. I don't know if they take a few orders and then deliver them all at one time (since they are a bit out of the way) but done say 30 min when it will be 2 hours ... And on top of that don't send cold pizza . FOOD IS GREAT, dining great ... Delivery ... A BIG NO GO ! read more

This review is regarding the new Trailhead Pizza location in downtown Bloomington. When I heard about it I was excited! We had lived on the East side and Trailhead was our favorite pizza, but we had just moved out of their delivery area. I would have given the original location 4 or 5 stars-- good pizza, friendly service. Meanwhile, the new location downtown is different, and pretty bad. :( :( We ordered from them on their first night. The pizza took about two hours to get to us and was quite greasy, they didn't include our sauces, and the breadsticks and crust had a weird, frozen taste and texture. (And it was all pretty cold, since it had taken two hours to get to us.) We thought since it was their first night it might just be a mishap, so we ordered again at a later date; the pizza was slightly better, but very greasy, and had that weird frozen taste. We had ordered cinnamon sticks and they were good, with pretty decent icing and without so much of the frozen taste. But none of it really seemed enough to justify the price. Well, we got optimistic, I guess, and decided to order one more time. This time it was just awful! The pizza was extremely, extremely greasy and kind of gross, and it had almost no sauce on it--the little sauce it did have had an odd, sharp taste. The crust still had that chewy, frozen taste and texture, as did the cinnamon sticks, which didn't have a lot of cinnamon-sugar topping on them. The weirdest thing about this meal though was the icing, which was as thin as water and tasted HORRIBLE, like milk that had gone bad. It seemed like they had run out of icing and instead of making more someone had poured a bunch of sour milk and water in what was left and hoped for the best. We didn't eat that at all. We both felt kind of ill after we ate, maybe from all the grease, and had a lot of leftover food we ended up throwing away. After tip, we paid over thirty bucks for a large one-topping pizza and a small order of cinnamon sticks. We could have ordered from a national chain and had significantly better quality and taste for half the price. I honestly wanted my money back, and I really wish I had tried to get it. Very disappointing :( read more

This place is good for where it is... near Paynetown ..campground no expectations here. They either don't have what is listed or the keg "just blew" or Food is always filling but a bit pricey. They do have a pizza special with breadsticks and 2 sodas which is a great deal for $20. There is live music almost every night..which happens to be pretty good most of the time. I have had their meatballs and they are tasty for an appetizer. The service is great if you are the only group. If it gets crowded.. the one server may have trouble keeping up. They seem to do well with the summer crowds. They have many unique kinds of pizza and well worth trying. Parking can be a challenge.. they say you can park across the road 446 at a church. They do deliver to the campground.. free and fast..right to your site!! Now that is a + read more

Didn't get to eat or even order, so who knows if it's any good. Someone brought us menus but that is the last anyone spoke to us. We waited 10-15 minutes and couldn't even flag anyone down as the other servers wouldn't give us eye contact. We walked out because my kids were hungry and it wasn't a great first impression. Shame because we live down the road, wanted to try something new, and their food looked interesting. Won't be trying again anytime soon if ever. read more

Great pizza on the way to the middle of nowhere - or on the way home from the middle of nowhere. I'm frequently out here for outdoor recreation - hiking and boating - and I'm very pleased to have such a great place out here. Last night I got the Cliffhanger, which is their "pie of the month". OMG that was a good pie! I wasn't entirely sure what was on it when I ordered - chicken, bacon, goat cheese, onion, and banana peppers. I think there were a few jalapenos hidden in among the banana peppers, which may have been an accident. Great pizza, great flavor combinations. I called ahead and picked this up on the way to a camp site and shared it with a buddy. They had the pie ready when I got there and it was hot and fresh. Incidentally, they have a bakery that seems to have some chops. I got chocolate brownie surprise cupcakes. I asked "what's the surprise?" and the guy working had no idea, so it was a genuine surprise! It has some chocolate chips, probably multiple flavors of chips and maybe some nuts. Good stuff with nice crispy edges! I will definitely be back! read more

The pizza is terrific here but very pricey for what you get in my opinion. Love the Aloha Hawaiian and breadsticks. The pizza was delicious when I was able to place an order on a busy Friday night. However, I tried repeatedly to order on a Tuesday evening during supposed hours of operation with absolutely no response. I would gladly rate this experience as 4, possibly 5 stars based on the food alone, however their lack of a current website or updated hours is why I give them two stars. Good luck! read more

Although it is a ways from downtown Bloomington, the pizza is totally worth the drive at least once. I went on a Friday evening and was so pleased to enjoy the live music. This night was particularly busy so it took a while for us to be seated when there were open tables, water was not given to us until we asked twice, and salads came out after our pizza. However, that pizza (Lady Marmalade) was to die for with that unique flavor profile of sweet onion, tangy balsamic, and creamy goat cheese. I feel confident that service would have been impeccable if it was not as occupied as it was then. read more
