Customer service is absolutely terrible. Impossible to get ahold of anyone when calling. They hang up on you while you're on hold. And I know that's the case because they did it to another customer while I was there. I called them for 2 days to see if my car was ready, and no one picked up or called me back. So I drove over anyway, and everyone's just chilling in the office. Told me my car would be ready in about an hour. So I come back an hour later, and I had to wait another hour. The woman in the service center rang my husband up for the wrong vehicle, and when he pointed it out, she huffed and puffed about it. Then instead of ringing the correct vehicle up, she made him go back to the waiting room. Then told him if he wanted to continue being a customer there, he would need to be more patient? Like, WHAT? My husband and I really liked the vibe there at first, it was laid back. But we have never seen such disrespectful, aloof, unprofessional service. Really really appalled. read more

Communication for one and mechanics that know what they are talking about. Took our truck to tradition in geneva. The problem IS the oil pump but couldn't take the time to do what was asked. Also charging over $800 for something that wasn't the problem. Honesty goes a long way! read more

Not a good experience buying a new truck. Everything was a hassle. Truck not ready when promised. Had to wait for accessories to be installed. Tires grossly over inflated. Wouldn't accept an official bank check! Cheated me out of a gas card. Will not do business with them again. read more

I put $100 down on Chevy Blazer EV in late 2022. The GMC site said the deposit was fully refundable. I cancel the reservation in August of 2023. GMC said allow 5-10 business days to receive your refund, noting if i had questions to call Tradition. I waited a few weeks and called Tradition to find out what was up. The manager saw my reservation/cancelation and said he had to find out how the process worked. Several calls and weeks later i was still waiting, always assuing me he'd resolve and call me, but never doing so. After months of run around i called GMC concierge. After many phone calls, i was told the dealer said they mailed the check Tuesday 12/26/23. Today 1/5/24, i still don't have my check. read more

I first went here when I needed to get my winter wheels swapped for my summer wheels. Van Bortel had a 3-week wait and Tradition got me in less than a week later. They charged me $20.00, which was the cost of doing a wheel rotation and even washed my truck. Great deal and didn't take too long. The only issue was the tire pressure was low when I drove away. I got reasonable service when I later had my oil changed, wipers replaced, inspection, etc. Once again, my tire pressure was low on leaving. My most recent service was to have my summer wheels put on and take off the winter wheels. I was quoted the same $20.00 for this service and since I am out of work right now I thought that was a good deal. So imagine my surprise when, not only did this take nearly 2 hours, but the service guy asked me if I wanted the truck washed after that time and so I said no, since I had places to be. But then when I went to get the truck, I was charged $30.00 instead of the quoted $20.00! Then I went home only to find that my TPMS light was on and no tire pressure showed. When I called I was told the initialization didn't work and I would have to bring the truck back. After bringing it back I went to leave and realized there was mud on my leather steering wheel and my parking assist warning kept going off saying there was something in front of the truck when there wasn't. I had to turn the parking assist off because it was getting annoying. Also, tire pressures were low, yet again! I can understand a price increase, just not AFTER you're quoted a lower price. Plus having to go back, as far as I'm concerned, Tradition owes me $15.00. Not going back until that is made right. read more

"Thoroughly Satisfied" - Rachael Ziegler I purchased a 2014 Ford Expedition from James Bruni July 29, 2019. The experience with "Jim" was exceptional, no pressure, friendly and courteous. Upon purchase it was agreed that some minor rust repairs would be completed. Repairs were made much to my satisfaction, unfortunately it took 3 weeks for the repairs to be completed. Was happy with the loaner vehicle they had provided for that duration. Upon pick up of the vehicle the driver side power window ceased working and I unfortunately had to leave it with them for another 2 days, after not having my vehicle for 3 weeks. Service staff was courteous, particularly Josh, who has been a true joy to work with. My extended warranty that I purchased in addition to the $23,567.00 cost of the vehicle, covered the repair. Nine days ago I returned the vehicle for service due to a sunroof that would not shut. Once again was provided with a loaner (the saving grace of the whole situation). Was told that the frame needed to be replaced, that the warranty would not cover it and that I would need to pay $1500.00 for the repair. Feeling as though I had purchased the vehicle with a faulty sunroof frame, I was dismayed about having to pay that much for the repair, and thought that based on sheer ethics, moral grounds, and standing by the sale alone, that I should be met halfway for some sort of financial responsibility. Unbeknownst to me, and hopefully, unbeknownst to them, the vehicle was sold with a faulty sunroof frame. I explained this to Josh and was told that there was nothing he could do about it and that the owner would be in touch. For four days I heard nothing from anyone at the dealership. Upon the sixth day of them having the vehicle I called the service department and left a message with Phil for Josh to call me back. Never received a response. On the seventh day of them having the vehicle I received a phone call from John requesting me to bring back the loaner vehicle and was asked to pick up my vehicle unrepaired. Flabbergasted that no work had been done to the vehicle for all of those days I reluctantly agreed to bring the loaner vehicle back the following morning. After sleeping on it, I realized how foolish it would be to pick up my unrepaired vehicle that they had for eight whole days, I called Josh first thing in the morning and said that regardless of who was paying for the vehicle, the repair needed to be done. He told me that the owner agreed to put $300.00 towards the repair. Now, nine days later and deeply dissatisfied, I am told by John that it will be another 4-5 days for the part to come in. This whole ordeal will be, at best, a total of fifteen days! After already having not had the vehicle for twenty one days due to the rust repair and driver door window issue, it will now be a total of 79 days that I have owned this vehicle, 36 of which have not been of use to me. I want to change this review and be a satisfied customer. Will follow up when this situation has been settled. UPDATE: The owner reached out to me as soon as he was informed of the depth of the situation. He was reassuring, kind, apologetic and extremely sincere. He met me more than halfway and I ended up paying $500.00 compared to the $1500.00 originally requested. I was thoroughly satisfied with the work and will definitely be bringing my vehicle back for service in the future. Would also purchase a vehicle for them and recommend to others. read more

Cant give zero stars. Worst sales person I have ever delt with in my life. This delaership took advantage of my elderly father causing him to obtain a ridiculously priced lease. Regardless he made every payment, and when we returned to try to obtain a new lease, hoping it was just a bad experience, we were met with even more ridiculous sales men. Last I checked, going in to purchase a car has nothing to do with the customer needing to keep the lights on at the dealership or paying the salesmans salary. This is exactly what this idiot told us when asking for a good deal on a new lease. To top it off the guy was pushing a demo car, which was already driven over 4k miles, acting like he was doing us a favor. Needless to say we walked away quite pissed off, and he obviously was taking our questions personal. If your going to be in sales, you should probably be able to answer simple questions without getting pissed at the customer and acting like they owe you something. Worst experience ever. Took my father to another dealer, Bill Cram, was treated will the upmost respect, and in the end saved thousands on the exact same vehicle. Thanks for nothing Tradition. We tried to give you a second chance, but your true colors showed. So sad there are still such salesman allowed to do business. Anyway, if your looking to get a GM go elsewhere and save yourself the hassle. No customer loyalty here. read more

I would give them 10 stars if I could!! I started my car search at Traditions Chevrolet in Newark. I told my salesman Jim how much I've always loved GMC Terrains. We tried so many different ways to make the numbers to work and they just wouldn't. I was even working directly with the owner Dario to try and get the best deal possible and decided to really consider an Equinox as a more feasible option instead. I left and spent the rest of the week trying to decide if the this was the best option, researching tons of other dealerships and cars and finally decided to go ahead and lease the Equinox from them. After my many questions and requirements, we came to an agreement and I went to sign my papers tonight- fully aware that my specific car was not in stock and would still have to be ordered. As soon as I got there, Jim, Dario and the sales manager came over to apologize and said they'd been trying all day to find my car but weren't able to do so. However... they had something else they wanted me to take a look at. Low and behold, they pulled up with a brand spankin' new GMC Terrain with my required AWD, V6 engine and an added upgrade package. I laughed and told them we already decided I can't afford it. They said they figured out a way to keep the payments exactly the same as the Equinox would have been. I asked what the catch was BC this is way too good to be true. They said they knew I really wanted black or white but the Terrain is blue :) :) :) Not only have these people been absolutely amazing throughout this entire process, they offered me the most money for my trade in and found a way to go above and beyond in every single way possible. Not only that, as a woman, it can be a little unnerving to walk into a dealership to try and buy a car on your own. Not once did I ever feel like less of a customer or that I was being taken advantage of just because I was there by myself. I cannot say enough good things about this experience and would recommend them in a heartbeat!!! read more
