Well I had a little problem with my truck, "Black Nell". The engine light came on. So I drove over and they ran a quick test on it, there was a problem which pointed to the catalytic converter. They scheduled an appointment for a week out. I went out there first thing this morning and checked in. A few minutes later their shuttle driver brought me home. The gentleman's name was Domonic. I found Domonic to be just like every other VanBortel employee. Very polite and professional. As always I must say I'm pleased with all divisions of VanBortel. Sales, Service, Customer Care. And always remember to buy a warranty with your next car purchase. A great benefit they suggest to their customers. And it saves the $$$. read more

"Quick lane" is false advertising for the service end of this dealership. I drove 20 miles this morning for just an oil change, was treated by the service team with a paper mat placed in my car, and was told once I entered the waiting room there was nothing available til next day, and was told that in rather an abrupt way. Bad enough that this wasn't truly a "Quicklane" but also that the service team wasn't aware that they weren't taking more customers for the day by 9:30 am. read more

Dropped off my vehicle at quick lane at 8:45am. Pretty late for a quick turnaround, but it was ready for pickup by 3pm about 2 hours earlier than i expected. Service writers were friendly and professional. Thank you!!!! read more

I'm from Syracuse but I purchased a Maverick hybrid from Van Bortel through the Costco buyers program. I had to wait 9 months for the vehicle but that's Ford's fault. There was a serious lack of communication with the dealership, e-mails and text messages never read. When I arrived at the dealership to pick up the vehicle it wasn't ready. After 3 hours I left with the vehicle. The windows, wheels and tires and the box were dirty. After advising their management of my displeasure Mark reached out to me and made every effort to make things right. He also said they would address the problems I incurred. If the communication problem is corrected I'd have no problem recommending Van Bortel Ford. read more

I purchased my Ford Escape at Van Bortel from Steve Miller, a great guy and salesman. The service is excellent and my husband purchased a Ford F150 there as well. I highly recommend them. When I'm looking for a new Ford, I look for honesty and fairness. They are just that. Women are treated as they should be and I especially appreciate that! read more

I am currently visiting a friend of mine in Fairport, NY. I was driving along the thruway a while ago and noticed that the check engine light illuminated when I drove past Utica, NY. The light came on solid and wasn't flashing. I was able to get to my friend's house safely. A few days ago, I called several reputable auto repair shops and asked to schedule an appointment to service my car. Most private shops are booked until the first week of June. I called Van Bortel Ford and asked them to schedule an appointment. They said that their service department are booked until mid June. I hate having to be the bad guy and I told them that I would look for another dealership or a reputable shop. I would be more than happy to schedule an appointment with the service department at Van Bortel Ford at some point. read more

Great service and very accommodating. Helped us with a replacement key fab. Highly recommend.

Van Bortel Ford is an outstanding dealership in every way! No hassle Sales with excellent pricing, Professional Service, and a friendly demeanor are all standard. Thank you to all who make Van Bortel Ford a special experience! read more

If I could give them more stars, I would. I would recommend both their service and sales department as I have worked with both. We recently had a service issue with some recall work that needed to be done and they went beyond what they had to do to get it fixed and back on the road - Hats off to Van Bortel Ford!!! read more

After posting my original issue about the Ford lug nuts, VanBortel called me and sent me a check fir the full amount. My complaint is more with Ford and the defaulty lug nuts. I would buy another car with VanBortel. The FastLane is SO BUSY, it definitely could expand! read more

Just bought a Ford Lightning from Van Bortel Ford. Steve Miller, my salesman, was excellent throughout. In a time when dealers are charging 10-15k+ over MSRP for these cars, these guys honored MSRP for this hard to find car. First time we spoke, Steve stated that it will be sold at MSRP and that's exactly what happened. No funny business, no extra add ons. Straight forward as can be for this out of state deal. Highly recommended. Great dealership experience. Thank you for this early Christmas gift. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Bought a 2022 Bronco Sport 8 months ago from Vonborstel. Have called every day for a week and left messages trying to get an appointment for service. After one week I received a message and number to call. Today I called about 15min's after they said the hours began and there was no answer! Do they even have a service department?? read more

I have been bringing my daughter's 2008 Focus to Van Bortle for a number of years. I called to schedule an appointment to have someone check out some issues with the car. They told me that they were scheduling 3 weeks out. What!? I mentioned that one of the issues was possibly something serious. They said that I could drop the car off at their Quick Lane service but that it would probably be a week before someone would be able to look at it. Very disappointing! I was forced to take my business elsewhere. read more

Vanbortel is the place to go. Yet anotheer great experience with QuickLane. Needed to get my daughters car some new tires as she was riding on her originals from a lease. Decided to keep the car so went to VanBortel for the tires. Denise went thru some tires she thought might be a good fit!! On my way out she asked if I wanted it to be inspected too (sticker said due this month). I said sure. (I dont drive this car!!) They look out for you, take care of you and you dont have to worry about getting things you dont need. Honest, experienced and very customer driven! Thanks Denise!!! read more

I had a electrical concern on a 2004 Mach 1, and was looking for guidance on what steps o should take next. I'm not from rochester I'm from buffalo and they were the only open ford dealer closest to me, I called them looking for assistance and the Shop Forman took time out of his day to sit on the phone with me helping me diagnose my concern. Very nice employees helpful to get me to someone who would be able to assist me. Very thankful for them all. read more

Two stars is the average, as the buying experience and pricing were four stars and the inconsistencies in service rank one star. We've bought two cars from this dealer, one here in Fairport and one when they were in Victor. The online reservation process for appointments works okay but it still takes them a long time to work on your car / even routine things like oil changes- they don't seem to monitor the online appointment system very well because twice they had to reschedule my online appointments that had been made a week beforehand when they realized they didn't have the parts they needed. Both of those appointments were for minor recalls that Ford notified me about. The service department seems to be a victim of its own success as it feels overwhelmed with the flow of work. read more

I have a 2020 F-150 (under 10,000 milesage on it) and notice the strange something on cluster decided stop. I received warning message through Ford app. The truck about to catch the fire. I decided had someone tow my truck to this place. I asked them have fix the truck and loaner They don't care about this shyt. If you decide to drop it off the service and need to fix the car. Terrible service wait time. I called in early November for a service appointment- they told me they are scheduling appointments 4-5 weeks out. WHAT??? Time to move on. In today's world of customer service- what service? Even my mother who owns a Ford tried this week to schedule appointment and was told 1st of year. How can one stay in business. I would give zero stars but I can't. read more

My husband bought a used diesel F250 from another dealer. There was a major issue with the truck that was unknown to us for several months. The selling dealer tried to hide this issue. The amazing staff at Van Bortel helped us identify the issue and were honest with our options in fixing the problem. They assured us that we were not responsible and helped us get the other dealership to pay for the fix. Doug and Mike in the service department were beyond amazing. They saved us thousands. My husband had such a great experience with them during a very stressful time. We trust Van Bortel and will go back in the future to receive honest and fair service and to buy our next SUV or Truck. read more

I purchased our used Toyota through Van Bortel Used Cars in Victor with the extended warranty two years ago. i have never once regretted that decision (maybe other than the color but that is not anyone's fault). I used a private mechanic to change my oil and got word that they had stripped the oil pan plug and they quoted me a price of over $600 to fix! I called Van Bortel Ford and they got me in THAT day (Tuesday), gave me a loaner car, and had it fixed by Saturday. Only cost me a small deductible and that was it! Not only did Van Bortel give us a FANTASTIC deal on our Toyota, but they took care of us after the sale. Before I went to Van Bortel I had looked at a Toyota dealer closer to home and I have a feeling I wouldn't have gotten any of the above had I stuck with them. I will only buy from Van Bortel from now on! read more

This review follows my car buying/ leasing experience out of the Morris County, New Jersey area. Please see my reviews (on Yelp) of Maplecrest Mendham Ford and Family Ford. Those reviews will give you some background on my experiences PRIOR to learning about Van Bortel Ford. Now to Van Bortel: I made contact with Matt German thru the internet department and I am sure glad I did. With two quick ten minute phone calls and a few emails Matt saved me almost $1600 dollars on my Fusion Energi lease. Matt was polite and efficient. He made the leasing experience extremely pleasant and most important, he saved me lots of money. If Van Bortel was still making money on my transaction what the heck was Mendham and Family Ford making? He kept me up to date during the leasing process and answered all my questions quickly. If he did not know something, he found out the answer. The price was exactly as quoted and there were no hidden fees. I will be leasing my daughters car next year from Van Bortel Ford and purchasing my new Yukon in the Spring from Van Bortel Chevy. They have my business as long as they can keep delivering the price. Conclusion: Highly recommend. Van Bortel Ford IS worth the drive from Morris County New Jersey ! Even if Van Bortel only saved me $100 dollars over the other dealers, I would still use them. The experience was that nice. Thank you Matt. read more

I called to schedule an appointment for an oil change and a software update and was told it would be very quick so just use the "Quick lane"; however, when I got there I was told that it was almost lunchtime and they wouldn't be able to get to it for an hour and a half. That certainly isnt "quick lane" like service and why wouldn't they have people to work during lunch.... or at least let people know that if you bring your car at lunchtime, you will have to wait an hour and a half. Lack of respect for a customer's time makes me want to look for other vehicle options in the future. read more

The best car buying experience ever. Please feel free to read my review of Cortese Ford as they are the reason I reached out to Van Bortel Ford. First the commercials are true! One low price. No drama no fuss. Kitty VanBortel gives out her cell phone number to every customer. No Joke. I plan on buying another Ford soon and I will be going to this dealership. Once I make a decision on what Ford Model to go with. These folks where the cheapest, most straight forward and honest I've dealt with when buying a new car. I did not give them 5 stars due to a minor incident with the service shop. However I will openly state they did make it right. I promise you this much. You can trust this dealership. They really do have integrity. I don't say that lightly as I was in total shock that it was such a great experience. They really do strive to be the best in overall satisfaction. If you like Ford products I recommend you give them a try. read more

I called today to buy NEW vehicle. they loan out their NEW vehicles so don't plan on buying a NEW vehicle with NO miles. Their new vehicles have 2, 3 or 4,000 miles on them. I can't say enough about the assembled people at Vanbortel Ford to help when we need it. I personnely have purchased five vehicles from Vanbortel for my famjly since 2017 and have had them serviced through their service period. Everytime we go there, we recieve the upmost service and attentiveness to our requests. I guess that starts @ the top with their service manager Tom, who is always available for you regardless of how busy he is. I just had my Ford their for a major air conditioning problem which I was told, by another compny, might take several days to repair not to mention they couldn't see my vehicle for almost a week. That wasn't the case @ Vanbortel, their ac tech Michael, got right on my problem and had everything taken care of by the end of that same day. Don't believe you shouldn't take your vehicle to a dealer for repairs after the warranty has run out. That's not the case with Vanbortel, we found not only was their service the best we could have expected, but also the repair cost was less than we could have expected. I'm buying all our vehicle there not only because we really enjoy ours cars, but also their service for us is second to none. Thank you Vanbortel, we'll tell our friends how good you are, Chuck in Pittsford. read more

I use Van Bortel Quick-lane for service on my lease vehicle. They are close to me and quick is part of their title. Tom who is usually working the quick-lane is extremely knowledgeable and does a great job showing what customer service looks like with his job. I love going in early in the morning when they open at around 6:30 and and I'm all done usually by 7:30 am. Tom has helped me get tires that fit my needs. His help and Kitty Van Bortel the owner are the key to a great operation. Thank you both. Even though my lease is not from VanBortel I still use their service. Great dealership. read more

I purchased a 2010 Ford Edge at Van Bortel 5 years ago and have always taken my vehicle there for service. The staff is amazing and so friendly. Their prices are fair but even better they are FAST. My car is always in and out within 45 minutes and if it is going to take longer, they will give you a loaner vehicle or a ride. I just purchased a new 2016 Ford Explorer. Over the years while I was there for service I would always run into Jake McClelland, who helped me with my first purchase. He always remembered me and was eager to catch up. When it was time to buy a new vehicle, I didn't even shop elsewhere. They offered me a great price on my trade and the new vehicle. Thanks again! -Michelle from Victor read more

I had to bring my company vehicle to the dealership for a check engine light issue. I carry very expensive test equipment in my van and always lock my doors. When I went back to grab something out of my van, two days after I dropped it off LOCKED, I discovered that it was in the back of the lot and unlocked. I hope this was an honest mistake. On another note, I did not hear anything from the service department on how long my vehicle would be there or what the issue was. I had to call them to get an update. Not having my work van is a huge inconvenience for me and makes doing my job a challenge. It doesn't take much effort to pick up a phone and keep the customer informed. read more

Ok our daughters VW, sons Suburu, our Volvo, the company Ford. Whatever the make they are good. The quick line is efficient for oil change and other garden variety repairs. My son took his car here so it could be diagnosed due to a noise issue after it was repaired from an accident (was not his fault) at a Ford dealership in Miami Lakes, FL. We drove his car up to Rochester as he goes to college there and noticed an annoying noise that was never there prior to the accident. He went on a test drive with his service advisor who immediately heard the noise, diagnosed it and fixed it...and it was still under warranty! Everyone who works at this dealership, from the person who answers the phone, person who makes appointments, etc., is always very friendly, helpful and competent. We have had routine maintenance done there and their prices are very reasonable...they even offer coupons. I would highly recommend this dealership. You won't be disappointed. read more

Great customer service. Good quality cars. Our go-to place for buying cars.

I recently went to Van Bortel looking for a new or used car. My wife has dealt with Van Bortel for her last 5 cars, but this was my first time. I didn't know what make or model I wanted. I was open to a new or used car - but always lean toward a low mileage used car. When I arrived I was assigned to Jake, a personable young man, who listened to what I was interested in and then proceeded to try to help me define what I wanted. He was very low key, but attentive. He showed me a range of cars and did not try to steer me toward any given year, model, package, etc. As it turned out, there was a used car, that had just become available, that sounded like just what I was interested in. It was off-lot being prepped so I was unable to see it or test drive it. I went home. Jake called when the car was available. I went for a test drive, and everything fell into place with no hassles. I was given a fair price for my trade-in. I was informed about extended warrantees (I chose not to buy them), but there was no pressure to buy them. I was able to get an option (remote start) added and included in the warrantee. My credit union had a better financing rate, but Van Bortel was able to negotiate with their financing company (Canandaigua National Bank), and they gave me the same rate - which meant I didn't have to make another trip to the credit union to deal with that paperwork. It was very convenient! When I got home I realized the car did not have any floor mats. An email to Jake got an immediate reply stating that he would order them and let me know when they come in. I am extremely satisfied with the whole process and will recommend them to friends. read more

I called Steve Miller at Van Bortel and told him exactly what I was looking for. Steve took my information as well as personal information. I told him I was moving forward with the deal and then took delivery of my new 2016 F-150 Supercrew that Saturday. It was completely painless and was the fastest buying experience I've ever had. To conclude, I received a phone call today to let me know Ford Motor Company would not be contributing to the repair cost of my failed catalytic converter. I reluctantly called Van Bortel Ford concerning a check engine light warning. They told told me it would be at least two or three weeks until they could get me in. I asked to speak to the service manager and was offered an opportunity to just leave the car there and they would squeeze it in. I took that option and they diagnosed my car later that day, did they repairs including recall work the next day. The staff was excellent, the pricing was very fair, and the work was thorough. My only issue are the delays in getting an appointment. read more
