Purchased a used vehicle back in July of this year. The day I picked it up, my salesman ordered a seatbelt extender at my request. The driver side rearview mirror worked so-so. My dashboard screen was dim nearly the entire time since bringing it home. I had 2 appointments that I had to reschedule due to being sick. I went on 10/15, waited 1 and 1/2 hours, only to be informed that none of the work got done. Someone ordered the wrong seatbelt extender. The technician noted half way through putting on my mirror, that there was some broken parts, so he put my malfunctioning one back on. The screen was not acting up ( go figure ), so they couldn't fix it. Was informed that everything would be handled and I would hear from them very soon. It's been a week and nothing! Car only has 37000 miles have had to have it in twice because lights and get it scanned which they charge you 190 bucks at a time even if it was just scanned 5 days ago at another business. Such a scam will never buy a car here again. read more

TLDR: poor customer service and damaged my vehicle during routine maintenance. Against literally everyone's advice I bought the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder privately. Well today I took it in for an oil change, and coolant flush at the Nissan Dealership. (last week I'd dropped it off with a work ticket for checking A/C, checking check engine light code p0420, oil change, coolant flush, and state inspection- none of which were done.) However during the initial visit $3500.00 worth of work (I did not request, or need) were done as the original owner stated to complete any needed work before the sale of the vehicle to me. Somehow today after the coolant flush and oil change were done, no one noticed that the car were leaking oil- that trail pictured is engine oil which begins at the service exit and runs to where my vehicle were parked in spot 146. Apparently the oil filter had a double gasket which led the car to lose more than 3 quarts of oil. Prior to this, the tech did an oil pan replacement but did not complete an oil change. I called the dealership to report a smoking engine after leaving, it were 10-15 minutes before the Nissan Dealership called me back and told me to return to the dealership, without telling me my car is pouring out oil. They also didn't notice during my initial visit, a 100 point check up before purchasing the car (for the check engine light) before purchase, that I do infact need an 02 censor and catalytic converter ($2200.00) but were sympathetic today while telling me that the code I announced during my call, p0420 infact meant I needed exactly what my mechanic and I thought I'd needed. They hapially did $3500.00 worth of repairs outside of these requests I made, which weren't needed and didn't include the cat I'd origionally inquired about. Nissan says the vehicle is safe to drive and no damages have been done. Nissan is not offering any compensation for additional repairs needed and is taking no responsibility for potential engine seize due to engine running with less than half the needed oil. What should have been a 1 hour appointment turned into a 4 hour appointment. I've been advised a "complementary oil change were given" and to drive it for 3 days and return on Thursday 9/28/23 for a look over before I leave on a trip to the North Country to visit my boyfriend, 8 hours + round trip. I've expressed my concern Nissans "repairs and services" have damaged my vehicle. I am so unhappy with my service. I am concerned with the integrity of the vehicle after it ran with less than half of the oil that the vehicle requires and Nissan won't do ANYTHING about this. Now I have a registered vehicle that has a potentially damaged engine, and needs a catalytic converter before it can pass NYS Inspection. When asked if I could be given a discount for my trouble, potential damages to the engined and time, I were told that $50.00 could be taken off of the total bill. I am not happy with the tech Frank Gallagher (who worked on my vehicle the first time when all requested repairs weren't completed, yet $3500.00 worth of other repairs were (parts and labor) and today when the oil filter were not installed properly resulting in the loss of 2/3 of the engine oil) or the representative I worked with Tyler Wize. Neither were helpful and I am uncomfortable to know I have an appointment to check over my vehicle with them both on Thursday even though I specifically requested I not be with the tech. read more

A1 rating is too high. We purchased/leased 7 Nissans from Dorschel and enjoyed our relationship with them. However, since the Bob Johnson group took it over, its been the pits. Our current behicle has an unknwon problem. we had planned a trip to PA with it in 4 days. After multple run arounds, they could/would not get us in for a look see. Second time at Dorschel and won't be my last! Came here for a routine oil change. Pulling up to the service garage, I waited for someone to come to me, trying to make eye contact with the first rep that walked by. Finally a guy greeted me, told him I'm here for an oil change, and he had an "annoyed" expression on his face. Not sure why he was annoyed since Dorschel doesn't make appointments for oil-changes. He grabbed another guy who was the complete opposite. Friendly, respectful, and kind. I assume the initial rep just had a stressful day. Waiting area: there's complimentary coffee (Keurig style), TV area, quiet lounge, and a snack bar (closes pretty early). Wi-fi is available as well! Oil change took about 30 minutes. Complimentary car wash was done (who doesn't love free stuff...especially from an auto service establishment). I would recommend Dorschel Nissan to any Nissan owner! read more

We were looking for a Nissan Leaf, but in red. The only dealership that had one was Dorschel. We live in Buffalo, but have family in Rochester, so we figured we'd just make a day of the pick-up. We emailed and got a quick response (like with most dealers) and then we were connected at a specific time with a salesperson. He was very lackluster on the phone, but basically checked on the inventory and price listed, confirmed both, and set a time for pick up. I returned the necessary paperwork via email as soon as he sent it, and then started waiting...and waiting... We had less than a week til pick up and were hearing nothing back. I got an "all set" but that was about it. I had to email the original respondent to say I was hearing nothing, and requested a new salesperson. I called the showroom, got in touch with a new salesperson, and then he said, "oh you're working with so and so...he's walking in right now..." and back I went. Turned out we needed document after document still. As soon as I turned in one thing and was told that was it, I needed something else as it turned out. We were now 2 days away from coming in from Buffalo to get a car that wasn't fully processed...very nerve-wracking. It was incredibly stressful. Don't tell someone they're all set when you haven't started any of the process. So then we were told the right chargers were included, only to get home and find out they weren't. We called and he was nice enough to find one for us, and I sent my sister to pick it up. I told him what time she'd be there, and she had to wait 20 minutes for him to go find one! Frustrating. I expect more from the customer service industry. Also, don't hand me a survey and tell me what to answer because that's how you get paid. It was a pre-printed sheet, too, so clearly everyone in their office does that. Yuck. My sister warned me about Dorschel...wish I had had a choice! read more

He didn't push us, and understood buying a new car was a big decision. I asked for our sales man from 3 years ago and she never heard of him and didn't know what dealership I was calling even , when she transferred me I was disconnected. I called back same 10 minute commercial I had to listen to again, she came on I asked if this was a as answering service or was she at dealership she had aditude and transferred me to sales but no one picked up. Came to test drive a car and possibly trade ours in. Chris was nice when he only saw us as money. We are ready to buy a third row vehicle and we're ready to do so this week. We should have walked away when he tried to sell us things we weren't interested. The vehicle we were looking at didn't have a car starter or power seats like we wanted. He proceeded to tell us "you don't need them anyway." Actually, we want them. Not a great salesman there. Then he proceeds to tell us "well when you drop your phone and it takes so long for your power seats to go back...."This to me did not even deserve a response, because why are you encouraging driving while on your phone? We had them take a look at my current car out of a curiosity as to what they'd offer us. Bad idea. They were incredibly rude and demeaning. "Basic model" actually it's not, but thanks. He continued to speak rudely telling us it's not worth that much. Keep in mind another dealer offered us 2,500 more than what they were offering without the excuses and rude demeanor. We won't be back and after seeing other reviews on Google/Facebook, it's pretty sad this kind of behavior happens a lot. Glad to say we'll be spending our 30K elsewhere. read more

I have bought two cars in the last five years from Dorschel Toyota. I love their service and they treated me right. So when I wanted an all electric car I went to Dorschel Nissan. The first salesperson knew NOTHING about the Leaf, but we went ahead and took a test drive.. He showed me the price by flashing an i-pod and said they do not print up the price or e-mail it. When I asked him a few weeks later to go over the price, he said "I already showed you the price, I don't have time to show it to you again." Three months later, I still have not been able to buy a LEAF. They are not interested in selling a car to me, since I am not taking out a loan. Buckle up, this is going to be a wild ride folks. Welcome to my first ,and possibly last, yelp review. I've taken my Nissan for service to Dorshel four times. Every time some lunk-faced repair man has suggested a myriad of additional expensive repairs which seem to change every time I'm in the shop. I passed it off as a bad attempt to upsell me and simply declined, but I digress, that's beside the point in this particular instance. The last time I'll ever take my car there was last week. Why is Dorshel cancelled, you ask? Well let's get started. My check engine light was on so I took my car in, and after a few hours received a call from Doug who was taking care of my car. He told me that three pieces needed to be replaced in my less than 2 year old car and that the repairs would be over $1k. I had purchased an extended service warranty for this very reason, so I presented Doug with my extended service warranty and a few hours later he called back, stating that the warranty would NOT be covering the repairs as "the warranty will only cover repairs that cause the car to completely break down." He insisted that he'd done everything he could but that I would have to pay. Seemed shady. Turns out it was. After contacting the car dealership I purchased my car and warranty from, and having them get in contact with the warranty company themselves, it turns out that Doug had merely "suggested that the parts could be replaced" rather than telling the warranty company that the parts were "failing," which was the PURELY semantic reason why the warranty wasn't going to cover the repairs. Doug, the sneaky wordsmith seemed to be really flexing on us here. But wait, it gets better. After more than 24 hours of back and forth, the warranty agreed to cover the failing part that was causing the check engine light to turn on. Our good friend Doug continued to insist that other parts needed to be replaced along with it. The list of parts changed twice but he was adamant, this TWO YEAR OLD car wasn't getting out of this garage without a F$CK TON of repairs that may or may not have been necessary. I'll never know because I'm an idiot who paid to go to college rather than trade school and I do not understand cars (what makes them run? A monkey with cymbals? A hamster on a treadmill? Who's to say, really? Not Doug, that's for sure.) These parts were, of course, not covered under my warranty. That would be too easy. Ultimately I didn't have time to passive-aggressively fight with Doug in my finest "can I speak with the manager" tone any longer as I cannot walk to and fro from my full time job 20 miles from my house and my bicycle doesn't have snow tires on it, so I conceded to his requests and ultimately paid $600 for the repair. The internet needs to leave Caroline Calloway alone in 2020, because DOUG is our new scammer king. This entire experience was a troll. If anyone has any good car mechanics in Rochester that work on Nissans hit your girl up, because I will never set foot in Dorshel again. Love and light, Mariel read more

Can't say enough good things about Dorschel Nissan and especially Mark Angelo! I went in with a plan, a budget, wants and needs. Mark listened to me, did everything to show my options, pricing, and packages. He did not push me to buy anything or include anything I didnt want. He helped me understand leasing as I had always preciously owned, and helped me see the difference between trade in value versus selling privately. Mark was helpful in all of the additional information I needed with title, lein, and insurance! He was patient with me as I had my baby with me for most appointments! The best part? I walked away with a 2018 Nissan Rogue, safe for me and my newborn, AND did not exceed my budget with manageable monthly payments! Like many other reviewers experienced, every time I had an oil change or NY Inspection the dealership tried to scare me into spending two or three thousand dollars on a huge list of repairs. I went in to get a key fob replaced as a new battery did not fix it. This fob is separate from the key so I thought a replacement would be reasonable. The service rep asked if I wanted it taken care of. I said sure, but as an after thought I asked how much. OVER $ 200! I said no thanks. I went to Utube and looked up my model.there was an easy instructional video on how to program the fob. I went to amazon and found a 2 pack of fobs for $12.98. I have never done anything like this before but it took me under a minute to program it! Recently soon after I had an oil change, my 'service engine soon' light came on. I stopped in to get it reset and was told there would be a $98 diagnostics charge. Sounds like the whole bunch graduated from rip off school with honors. Needless to say, I was PO'd. I decided to come home, cool down, and call to speak to a manager. Like the rest of the staff except the switchboard, he doesn't answer his phone or return calls. If you enjoy the runaround and getting ripped off this is the place for you. read more

They did send us a gift card for food and gas however while that is nice we were more impressed that a business reached out to us to make things right. We were extremely disappointed that day however things worked out well for us. In the future we will consider Dorschel. Where do i begin, let me first state that Gregory Chernyak is one of the most unprofessional and rudest human beings i have had unfortunately to deal with in my life. (I just bought an infiniti qx a few days ago and get a message from him yesterday (text) messaging me that i am a "blank" bag and piece of "blank", and he only kept on harassing and texting me throughout the day that i will get paid back with everything i deserve.)(Please note i have this message saved, he wrote it in Russian)(good thing there is google translate Gregory) Please note i got this from him because i could not deal with his unprofessionalism and rudeness and ended up working with someone else and bought my car with them. Here is my whole experience with Gregory: First car that was bought in 2016 for my relative, he was rude and since i was away my brother in law helped out in this process. Multiple times Gregory hanged up the phone on me as i was talking to him as my relative sked for me to negotiate and get all details as english is her second language. My brother in law who was there when they signed the paperwork actually ended up yelling at Gregory and the Manager knows that, as he came up, due to the fact Gregory was disrespectful to our family. After that in 2/17 we decided to give him a 2nd shot and bought a Murano. It was fine until he at the end called me after a few days with the car and said i owe 1K because i was supposed to give 1K cash down payment. This was ridiculous and i have the text messages of him threatening and than after providing him info that we never agreed on this, and we agreed on a price out the door, zero down, he calmed down and that was that( as this was days after we signed the paper work and drove away). I should have left it at this and never have called him again as i did last week. I decided to give him one more shot as i thought he could give me a good deal as this was the third car i wanted to get. He was very rude, yelled, acted like a smart "blank" and i decided to not work with him ever again. I ended up working with Ed who was very nice and respectful. I bought the car and yesterday 7/29 Gregory texts me, cursing at me and writing the most disrespectful and disgusting things. This man does not deserve to be anywhere where he deals with customers and families. This will be escalated, i am a sales person/recruiter and i have never dealt with a more rude human being. I will not let this go as he blasted me, cursed at me, used foul words, and wished me revenge. Gregory this is America, not the Soviet Union, and you have no right to act and treat people like this. I had been looking on-line for a Nissan Altima and saw Dorschel had a couple of the styles I was looking for. Ryan Chacinski was the most knowlegeable Nissan salesperson I had come across. It was really his expertise that sold the car. Price wise they were comparable with the other dealers, not enough savings to justify the pricing system there. I don't mind a little haggling to save a couple of dollars. Ryan Chacinski was professional, knowlegable, and extremely efficient in the sale of our car. I went in for an oil change and was told an hour and a half later that my car was ready. When I saw my car I noticed my hood was not closed. I tried to close the hood and I could not. I went back in to Dorschel Nissan and asked for a manager. After they found a manager we went back to the car and tried to close the hood . After some work we determined the hood latch had been damaged. They tried to fix it while I was there but they were unsuccessful . They told me they would have to order the part for my brand new car.i had to return to pick up my car after they told me it was fixed. I returned to find out the hood would no longer open!...I was told they would fix it and had to return again. After all the problems I had at Dorschel Nissan I would not recommend them. I also received a phone call from Barbara asking me how everything went with my oil change. I told her what happened and she told me Sorry to hear that have a nice day! Only dealer on Yelp with 1.5 stars, and yet they continue to run their business without addressing the issues. We bought a 2014 Rogue in 2014, immediately within months had 2 recalls. No prob, took it in and they corrected the issues. 12 months later, another recall for rear hatch struts. Tried to actually seize our car while getting oil change, was told Nissan said they had the legal right to 'hold' our vehicle. Call to my attorney said differently. Took it in, got a loaner car and then didn't see my car for a month. For hatch struts, mind you. Today, my wife is at Dorschal for another recall. While there, asked to check rattle noise from under hood, probably exhaust shield. Service said $50 to run diagnostic. (Car is 3 months out of warranty) I called and said instead of taking the time to do that, just tighten the heat shield and see if that does it, but no, $50 and run a diagnostic.By the way,I have some mechanical experience, speaking out of frustration. And I am frustrated..Dorschal sends me tons of promotional sales ads, offers, etc. but when I'm actually IN THE DEALERSHIP, i experience the above. This is my second, and last, Nissan. Service on them is horrible and far from customer oriented. Bye Nissan, bye Dorschal and please don't send another apology from 'Rick Dorschal' while continuing the exact same 1.5 star review service.In all fairness, moments ago service agreed to diagnose (but not fix) the engine rattle issue and it was as I thought, heat shield. They will provide part # and I'll fix it myself. But in closing, we'll be trading the Rogue for a Chevy or GMC....but not Dorschal Chevrolet or GM read more

i was thinking of purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership. i gave them a $500 deposit on a 2013 Nissan Rogue. My credit union would not approve their asking price for what i was willing to put down. So i asked Joe Yanda if they would be willing to work with me on a clean deal...no trade no finance arranging. I was told the price is the price. So i asked for them to retrun my deposit and we would continue our search. I was told that we would need to wait ten days for the check to clear the bank or bring proof that it had and i could get my check. I took a half a day off of work to get to the bank and get to the dealer with the proof of it clearing my bank. When we arrived we were told that the person that needs to approve that would not be in till the next day and would we like to come back. It is a 1 hour drive from our house to get there so i told them to mail it to me. i had not gotten the check by the end of friday so I started calling to find out where it was. After about 5 phone calls to various people and no return calls my check showed up fed ex nda 8 days after the date on the check. i would not recommend this dealership to anyone. read more
