They have outside seating as well. They got a salad bar for you to load up on cheese, bread, fruits, etc while you wait for your dishes to arrive. Service is fast and professional like any restaurant on this property. The highlights has to be their steaks/meat. We literally enjoyed every dish we ordered as a party. You couldn't miss but the flank steak was probably the table's favorite. The short ribs also fell right off the bone. We came back here several times and were glad we did. Another Hyatt Ziva Resort Restaurant. We went here a couple times, twice of breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast: Options are limited for breakfast at the resort the only options are Tradewinds or El Mercado (the buffet). - Avocado Toast - has this mango sauce/dressing on it. wasn't a fan of that. would've been better without the sauce. - Tradewinds Chilaquiles - this one was ok. - French Toast - Shakshuka Eggs - soupy. it says it's suppose to have eggplant, onions, and peppers. I don't remember that being in there. It was mainly eggs and tomatoes - Omelette Dinner: Better than breakfast - Bread - Yummy. Fluffy and soft. - Lobster Cream Soup - bland. I didn't like it. - Sea Bass - This was my favorite sea bass at the resort. Tasted yummy with the peas and white seafood sauce. After a disappointing breakfast at El Mercado aka international buffet, this is my favorite brunch place thus far. There's a nice view of the beach while dining indoors. Our server was very attentive, and the best one yet. As a starter, there's access to a selection of delicious pastries, juices and fruits that you can grab at the front. The granola bowl had the right amount of yogurt, fruits, and granola. I loved all the stuffings in my omelette. For some reason, their hash browns are on dry side. It's awesome that the portions are not too large, allowing more room to try other dishes. Overall, I'm coming back for more. read more

This restaurant, located on the property of the Hyatt Ziva Cancun Hotel, is a steakhouse that also is used as a breakfast locale in the morning hours. We went in the evening and you have a choice of seating inside or on the outside terrace, overlooking the pool, and in the distance, beach. Our waiter was professional and took excellent care at our table. He was fluent in both Spanish / English. The bar offered many varieties of fine to mid priced drinks. However if you are staying at this property it's an All - inclusive, so your options are wide open and there is no additional charge. Many couples, groups of families and business associates can be seen dining here. They handles the crowds smoothly and with ease. Inside, the room was full and conversation was full of activity. But not in a disturbing manner. Enjoyed my filet mignon, and sweet potato combo. We did not opt for appetizer or dessert as we were planning to attend a dessert bar upstairs at 9:00 pm. So I would knock the Restuarant because the ambiance is nice and the staff is friendly but!!!!! The food seems to be mass produced and isn't as fresh at the all inclusive would perceive to be. I ordered the sea bass, jumbo shrimp as I am not a meat eater. The portion sizes are 9oz as the menu said, so picture you are dieting this would be enough to satisfy your appetite. The shrimp defiantly was frozen and clearly was cooked frozen , you know when you bite into it and it crumbles like wet bread and not string cheese .. the sea bass also was season welled one the outside not so much flavor in the inside so it's as if I am eating textured fish flakes. read more

Love Tradewinds! I dined here 4x for breakfast and 2x for dinner. Would have dined here more for dinner but the wait was so long. PRO TIP: Eat dinner right when they open at 6PM for optimal seating. Otherwise, be prepared to wait - the service is slow and they get busy quickly! Breakfast: My favorite things to order were: - Omelet: Ham, sausage, chorizo, vegetables, cheese, bacon - I'm not a huge fan of excessive meat, but even with the variety, the omelet wasn't overwhelming. It was a perfect balance and the crispy bacon was a highlight. - Roast beef: Roast beef, blue cheese cream, caramelized onion, grilled tomato and lettuce mix - this is the dish I will keep thinking of long after I've returned home. I LOVED the blue cheese cream and it absolutely makes the dish. I'm not even a blue cheese fan and some of my friends complained this was an overwhelming flavor, but I really enjoyed it. It's probably my favorite dish from the entire resort. Worth ordering: - Any of their morning juices: TW Sunrise, Citrus Explosion, Fresh Ziva - Fruit plate - Pancake - Waffle - Chilaquiles and quesadillas are in the same category: pretty basic Dinner: My favorites were (from memory because menu link is broken): -Crabcakes: these are tiny and delicious. Order one dish per person. -Beef appetizer: this was also light and delicious with a bit of a kick. -Ribeye: absolutely order the ribeye. Go big. Skip the lobster cream soup. Not worth it. Many of the sides are also worth skipping. I'd suggest ordering a salad instead. If you must order a side, go with the mashed potatoes or the macaroni and cheese, but both are not incredibly delicious. The meats are where it's at. Go early and enjoy! read more

Skip breakfast and go for dinner when it becomes a steak house. The service is amazing and the ribeye was cooked perfectly. I ordered a side of the chimichurri sauce and it elevated my steak 10x! The meal starts with ordering your main dish and going to the salad bar where a server makes you a salad of your choice. They bring you fresh bread. Your meal comes out and you enjoy it. Save room for dessert! We had the ice cream trio and the white chocolate brownie. All our plates were licked clean. Pedro's service and our breakfasts were fantastic today. I had a veggie omelet with side guac and fruit plate, my sister enjoyed her eggs bene with chorizo-- she recommends a little harder poach. We came here for both the breakfast and steakhouse. We definitely prefer the breakfast here especially the TW chicken waffle and TW omelet. Both were very good that you wouldn't think the food came from an all inclusive restaurant. However, the dinner steakhouse was a let down for me. We order the rib eye steak which was very dry and lacking in flavor. The garlic shrimp was not fresh as it taste "mushy" . We decide to leave early and went to the dinner buffet instead. If I were to rate the breakfast and dinner seperatly: Breakfast -4 star Dinner - 1 star Much better option for dinner from the other restaurant in the resort. Tradewinds is party of the all inclusive Hyatt Ziva resort and has offerings at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I stopped by numerous times throughout my stay at the Hyatt for lunch and dinner. The BAD: - The older wait staff weren't as friendly and slow when taking orders. They also were expecting tips, even though this is an all inclusive resort and the brochure says tips are included. The younger wait staff on the other hand were always super friendly and energetic. - At dinner time this place tries to focus on being a steak house. Unfortunately they did a poor job with my rib eye, which was over cooked in many party and half of it had plenty of fad. They did a much better job with the much leaner cut of flank steak and I would recommend getting that. - I didn't really enjoy any of the desserts that I tried here, they tasted just ok. The GOOD: - The empanadas here are the best that I have tried anywhere. The outer shell is flaky and crispy. I really enjoyed the humitas (corn, onion, and cheese) and ground beef ones. - They do an amazing job with the grilled sea food items. The salmon and large grilled shrimp dishes that I tried here were seasoned and cooked perfectly. They tasted amazing and were very tender. Overall I would avoid getting any of the steaks here and stick to the grilled sea food dishes here which were exceptional. The empanadas are a must try! Service is a bit spotty here. read more

Open at 7am, another decent breakfast place overlooking the beautiful pools and ocean. Dry casual dress code. I enjoyed the views from their outdoor seating area. Downside is that they are a little slow and lacking on the service front. What we ate: Appetizers: - Concha: Again, I love this Mexican pastry! - Fruit plate (Watermelon, melon, kiwi, strawberry, papaya, plain yogurt and granola): Fresh fruit, what's not to love! - Tapioca pudding (Almond milk, osmotized kiwi and honey): I enjoyed the tapioca! - Matcha pancake (Maple syrup, wild berries, caramelized bananas): I was drawn to the matcha, and yet again, disappointed. It was basically just regular pancakes with an ever-so-slight hint of matcha. The batter had the touch of green, but I wish they had put more matcha :( I was going between this and the TW eggs benedict but was pulled in by the matcha...Perhaps the wrong (or just worse) choice of the two. read more

This restaurant is located in the Hyatt Ziva Cancun resort by the pool past the Turquoize check in area. Best brunch spot hands down in the resort, even better than the buffet area. All employees were wearing masks and gloves. Customers must wear masks unless seated at their table. For brunch, I ordered the quesadillas and my boyfriend ordered the TW eggs Benedict. My quesadillas came in taco style, which I thought was odd, but still came out tasting just fine. The TW eggs Benedict came out looking as perfect as it tasted. For dinner, we shared the crab cakes, which was small portioned, but still good. We also ordered to share the lobster bisque, which tasted just ok. We have definitely tasted better lobster soup in the states. We shared a huge medium rare ribeye with a side of Mac n cheese. Literally, the BEST ribeye we have ever had and we have had some bad ones before. Our waiter was super nice and pretty talkative. Only oddly asked question was why we were not eating more because we did not order any dessert. I guess other tourists ate more than we did. If you love steak, come here! read more

This dining spot is a bit hidden from view as it's on the other side of the resort where the second beach is located. It's past the spa, souvenir shop and fitness center so you're in for a little bit of a walk! The atmosphere: it's a fairly large restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The entrance to the restaurant is a little confusing as the main entrance says it's the exit. It's got a good view of the infinity pool and the beach. It's semi-casual so you can dress a bit more down to dine! The food: there's a small buffet area with some fresh fruit, breads and cereal. Most of the fruit was gone when I went so I had to order some mango from my waiter. The options for breakfast were a little limited compared to the options available at the buffet restaurant. I ordered some blueberry pancakes which were a little undercooked but otherwise was all alright. My partner liked his dish but wasn't taken aback by it's deliciousness. read more

Tradewinds gave me unforgettable experiences for both breakfast and dinner mealtimes. Everything from the service, the atmosphere, each course, and especially the beach view was perfect. We were quickly served our drinks (the green juice in particular was so refreshing) and offered a variety of gorgeous breads. My party and I all ordered a fruit plate, which I was not expecting to be so stunning. It really is true that we eat with our eyes first because those fruits were so beautifully presented that I was scared to dig in. The mango and papaya were perfectly ripe, juicy, and sweet. As for our main items, they were just as phenomenal. My egg omelet was fresh, tasty, and the avocado toast and smoked salmon bagel were delicious. I could taste the high quality of each ingredient and how each item was freshly made. I knew after this meal that I had to come back for more. DINNER We decided to eat at Tradewinds for our last dinner at Hyatt Ziva Cancún, and this was truly the best choice. The night atmosphere significantly differed from the morning feel of the restaurant. We were seated to a calm, candle-lit table. Our two servers were very kind and ensured that there was no cross-contamination with my seafood allergy. Now the food. Where do I begin? We were served fluffy dinner rolls as table bread with spreadable roasted garlic and three flavored butters: rosemary, truffle, and pepper. This alone was phenomenal. I wasn't done obsessing over the rolls when they served the soups. We had ordered the bone broth soup and lobster cream soup. These were incredible with the bread rolls. Next came our appetizers which were a mixed salad, crab fritters, and a beef empanada. Not sure if this is just my love for goat cheese and honey mustard speaking, but that salad was absurdly delicious. To that end, the beef empanada was (I kid you not) the best beef empanada I ever had. It was steaming from my first bite and was so flavorful and juicy I had to literally close my eyes and savor the moment. I ended up ordering a second beef empanada appetizer. Lastly, our main courses arrived. I had the skirt steak with a side of roasted vegetables. The steak was juicy, tasty and served with a roasted Mexican spring onion. Everything was perfect, and we did not need to worry about dressing fancy to have a comfortable fine dining experience. Overall, Tradewinds has set my standards high for all fine dining restaurants. This is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Hyatt Ziva Cancun! Food quality and service were the best in the hotel. I particularly loved their open breakfast bar with fruit, salads, and yogurt. The omelet, special juices, salmon avocado toast, and TW chicken and waffles sandwich were my favorite. Pedro, our breakfast server both times we went to Tradewinds, is extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The manager, Ney does a great job managing the staff and greeted seated guests during their meal if there's anything they can help us with. Shout out to Samantha, Eric, and Felipe, who were other courteous staff members that made our meal welcoming and memorable. We also came back for dinner and tried the ribeye, skirt steak, and a bunch of appetizers. Most notably, their bread with roasted garlic and butter 3 ways is so fluffy and hot from the oven. The skirt steak was cooked really well and the rib eye was flavorful but a little more well done than what I would have liked. read more

Breakfast Review: after hitting the breakfast buffet several days at the El Mercado (which was great), we decided to visit Tradewinds. This is an order off the menu restaurant, and here's what we got. The Snow White Dream waffle was stellar, and it renewed my faith in the waffle itself. I ordered an omelet--off the menu (cheese, bacon, tomatoes, onion, and spinach)--and it was great as well. The beef tips with refried beans and tortillas reminded me of authentic breakfasts in the homes of pastor friends in Mexico!from years past. Great start to our day of eating and drinking. read more

Out of all the many places to eat on property at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Tradewinds was absolutely the worst one we dined at. Upon arriving here on our last night (Sunday) in Cancun we walked into Tradewinds excited and ready to eat! Choosing a place to have your last meal in Cancun was a big deal for us and Tradewinds didn't do so well with making our trip an even further memorable one. The hostess whomever was working the night we arrived had a pretty bad attitude and I guess because we requested to be seated outside it was an issue. There were already 3 other tables seated so we couldn't figure out what the problem was with also too wanting to dine out on the patio. She said " Outside"?! umm yeah? Anyways she was the worst and when we had questions on some vouchers that were given to us upon check in which nobody could answer which was already strike two. Our waiter is the only reason this review wasn't given a 1 star! He truly did his best and just happened to be in the middle of the chaos of terrible customer service that was being delivered this night. After ordering our food not only did it take quite a bit but when we received it, it was so half ass done that I literally felt like they dug our meals out the trash and pieced it together on the plate. (Check the photos I will attach) ... my surf and turf came out looking just awful and my friends plates weren't even worthy of pictures! It was clear that the chef was done for the night and didn't care. The waiter himself even recognized how terrible the food looked and went back to have the chef remake the food. When the food came back out it looked 10x better which was so confusing because like why didn't this happen the first time. It was so frustrating for other people in the group because they were practically done with their meals while I'm waiting for mines to be remade. The thing is here you can't take food back to your room which sucks because in a normal circumstance I could've just had them remake it, box it and headed back to the room... I wasn't impressed with the dinner, but we got to try the breakfast buffet on our checkout day, and really enjoyed it! I probably wouldn't go back for dinner again, but definitely for that succulent breakfast! They have everything, from the most basic breakfast foods (eggs, ham, yogurt) to exotic Mexican Caribbean options such as chilaquiles, fried plantains and some spaghetti-type of food in cream that's called "rajas con crema." Wish we had gone a couple more times for breakfast, but it IS a lot of food, best saved for a busy day of airports. read more

I grew up going here as my family had a time share at this location. We didn't eat here often because the Mayan had better options, but I don't remember it being bad. My friends and I went here for dinner our first night in and our food was not great. Everything was bland and plain. I wish we had gone somewhere else. I gave this place three stars instead of two because the breakfast buffet is awesome. I really wish I could rate this twice and give 4 stars for the breakfast. The waffles are amazing. The waiters are attentive and polite, and the quesadillas were great--pro tip: ask them to add chicken to them for a DELICIOUS meal. Plus, even for brunch they have full bar service. A screwdriver and a chicken/cheese quesadilla with avocado is just how I want to start my day. Skip dinners there, they're not super impressive. This was my favorite restaurant at Hyatt Ziva. It's not only great for dinner, but brunch is delicious. I shared a fillet and a ribeye with friends. Being from Chicago, I can unequivocally state that this was comparable to the high-end restaurants that Chicago boasts. My favorite part of the dining experience was service. As was common at the resort, the staff was extremely friendly. Our waiter gave us a little fun quiz while we were ordering, and since we did not pass he brought us shots. We all took the shots and at first thought "wow that was smooth" and then realized the jokester gave us agua (water). He later provided real shots and continued making jokes with us and contributing to such an entertaining, pleasurable time. Great food and great service. read more

The steaks were super thin and incredibly fatty. They tasted like they overcooked them over a way too high propane flame. They didn't season my steak at all and they mis-cooked the steaks by at least a few temps. Everything was bland and lacking. I could go to Walmart and cook a $2 steak over a bonfire better. read more

The service was EXCELLENT, but the food was mediocre at best. I started with the ceaser salad which was ok and had the Rib Eye for my main dish. My rib eye was absolutely terrible I could barely eat it. I asked for it medium, but it was over-cooked. My boyfriend had the T-Bone, also medium, that was a tad better than mine. The dessert was also, ok. Beautifully presented but just didn't meet my after meal sweet tooth needs. If you are trying to eat at all of the restaurants at this hotel, you would be ok to miss this one. I recommend going to enjoy the view with some cocktails though! read more
