Lorenzo's is probably one of the better restaurants in Ziva. We came here for both lunch and dinner and every dish was yummy! We love how their pizzas are freshly oven baked. Their tiramisu is also very good. Their servers are also very friendly and helpful.

Italian restaurant with a lot of choices. The beef tartare is as fresh with a quail egg. The sea bass had perfectly cooked crispy skin and the sauce was delightful. Service was superb.

So, maybe I ordered all the wrong things here. My friend and I did not enjoy this place at all, but other members of our party dined here and loved it. Learn from my experience and maybe don't order what I ordered? Who knows. Here's what we tried: - Insalata Lorenzo´s: Organic lettuce, goat cheese, walnuts, pears, toasted bacon, balsamic vinegar reduction - This was alright, but a basic salad is pretty hard to mess up. - Frittura di calamari: Fried squid, arrabbiata sauce - these were over-fried and tough. They were all same shape and size and calamari ALWAYS freaks me out when it's the same shape and size. Skip! - Tagliatelle alla Bolognese: Homemade long pasta with Bolognese sauce - there was nothing spectacular about this dish. - Fettuccine ai frutti di mare: Mussels, clams, squid, shrimp, dry white wine, pomodoro sauce - so, so, so salty. - Margherita: Pomodoro sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil - this was absolutely the best menu item we ordered. Definitely add a pizza to your order, you won't regret it. - Panna cotta: Sweet cream with red fruits - Panna Cotta is my absolute favorite dessert! This is not panna cotta. Texture is off and odd. Skip! Overall, we felt all the dishes lacked any sort of flavor profile outside of being super salty. We missed those complex Italian flavors and felt most dishes could have been improved based on seasoning alone. Again, maybe it was the wrong night, or that we ordered all the wrong things, but we did not come back to dine here on our 7-night stay.

as others have mentioned, the service could use some work compared to the other restaurants of the place. we weren't that impressed with the food... i did however like my kid's lasagna. i got the sea bass which i thought tasted .. fishy; the fungi chicken just tasted like stuffed chicken... overall not bad but could skip this place

For members staying at Hyatt Ziva: 10/10 overall and I can't wait to come back here at my next stay Service, of course is excellent as it is throughout the entire resort. We had lunch here and I wish we had enough time to do dinner as well. They have a small antipasto bar available with some charcuterie & veggies during lunch. We all got a ceasar salad each (not a large salad, feeds 1 person) but probably my favourite Cesar salad at the resort. 4 of us shared a pepperoni pizza as well and it was perfectly baked. Shrimp Alfredo was a large portion and I didn't finish it all *i dont eat too much though* , but it was quite good and I'd order it again. Had the Panna cotta for desert and it was just the amount of sweet and fruity I wanted without being overwhelming. Can't wait to come back here! - Food guide & content creator INSTA @ SpicyAivy

Service from Jesus was beyond wonderful. He made us feel so taken care of. We don't expect much from resort food and thus ordered the Arancini (perfectly delicious) and the Margherita, Sausage, and Pancetta with Potato pizzas. The Margherita was definitely our favorite. The meats on the other pizzas were a bit dried out. We ordered the small versions of these pies (4 pieces) which was more than enough for us.

Food was okay, but service was sub-par. We visited twice - once for dinner, once for lunch. Both times, service was very, very slow. We felt neglected. We had to flag down our waiter a couple times during our lunch, and it wasn't even busy. It was just there were only two waiters working, and they were usually in the back and not checking in with guests. Dress code for lunch is dry casual, smart casual for dinner. Dinner - There was a 30 minute wait when we arrived on a Tuesday evening around 7pm. We were put on a waiting list and given a beeper, so we walked around and got some drinks before dinner. Starters: - Build-your-own charcuterie board: Ask the staff at the bar for what you want! We got some cheese, berries, prosciutto, salami, nuts, figs. - Insalata Lorenzo's (Organic lettuce, goat cheese, walnuts, poached pear toasted bacon, balsamic vinegar reduction): Good salad, I like goat cheese. - Frittura di calamari (Fried squid, arrabbiata sauce): The squid was too big for my liking. I usually like the smaller squid because it's more crispy and easier to eat in small bites. - Lasagna (Traditional lasagna bolognese gratinated): I generally don't like lasagna, and this was one of those. Entrees: - Filetto di manzo al gorgonzola (Beef steak, mashed potatoes sautéed spinach & gorgonzola sauce): The filet was done medium rare as we'd asked, but it didn't pair very well with the gorgonzola sauce. - Costolette d' agnello al forno (Lamb chops, vegetable caponata, polenta & parsley provencal): Excellent lamb chop! Yay! Dessert: - Tiramisu (Classic Italian dessert with a base of savoiardi cookies, mascarpone cheese mousse and amaretto di Saronno): This was a delicious tiramisu! Loved the soft and sugary layers. Good end to the meal, although the start of it was a little rocky. Lunch - funghi e salciccia pizza (Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, portobello, Italian sausage): Pizza was pretty good - we had to try it, since they have a nice wood-fired oven and we saw all the pizzas coming out fresh from the oven. However, our pizza sat on the countertop for about 10 minutes before our waiter noticed and brought it to us. It was still warm, but the crust had gotten a little moist by the time it reached our table. When we ordered our dishes (tuna and pizza), we were told the tuna would take 10 minutes longer than the pizza, but they came out at basically the same time because of the delay on the pizza being brought to our table. - Tonno ai semi di sesamo (Tuna with sesame seed, candied onions, asparagus berry jam): I hoped the tuna would be more seared rather than grilled, but the tuna was pretty much grilled to medium, making it more chewy than I expected. Heavy on the sesame seeds. I didn't like the asparagus berry jam, the sweet/sour taste of it didn't go well with the tuna. - Lorenzo's crepes (Filled with mascarpone mousse and chopped fresh fruit & passion fruit sauce): Not the typical crepes you think of. I'd expect crepes to be the thin type, not rolled up in thick batter. My crepes didn't have fruit on the inside, just had a few berries on top. I had to wave to our waiter to make this order, as our waiter hadn't checked in on us since bringing out our entrees. I generally don't give 2 stars unless I have serious complaints... in this case, it's a combination of sub-par service and meh food. Maybe Lorenzo's will pick up on its service front as more guests come through, but right now, it's not worth the time it takes for your orders to be taken and food to come out.

Best Italian cuisine in Cancun! My boyfriend and I love Italian food and were most excited to try this restaurant out of all the ones in the Hyatt Ziva Cancun resort. All employees were wearing masks and gloves. Customers must wear masks unless seated at their table. We started off by ordering a glass of white wine (Chardonnay). We wanted Pinot Grigio, but was told it would cost extra. We shared the lasagna and Quattro Formaggi pizza. Both were so delicious! The cheesy-ness was to our liking. Our waiter strongly encouraged us to try out their dessert, but we wanted to try out the dessert place in the resort instead. I wish we had room in our stomachs to try out all their food. We just have to come here again the next time we are in Cancun. Our waiter was super nice, respectful, and attentive. He also had a personality and made jokes with us. If you love Italian food, go here! You will not be disappointed!

Such a beautiful restaurant. Everyone in our party said it wasn't that great but we want to try it anyways. We were so happy we did! It was amazing!!!

Beet salad partially eaten. It was great.

We really enjoyed this restaurant. Is it the best Italian food Ive ever had? No. Is it good food and great service? Yes. It's our first night at the Hyatt Ziva and after 12 hrs of travel we were tired and hungry. It was 9pm and we had about a 10 minute wait to get seated. Service was excellent and food came out really fast. We ordered the beet salad and pepperoni pizza for appetizers ( both really good) and they brought a really yummy charcuterie board that we didn't ask for but was excellent. We ordered Tagliatelle alla Bolognese which was very good, ravioli also good, salmon was excellent. The lasagna was the only thing that wasn't that good. It wasn't inedible just not so good. I recommend the salmon (so good) but also order something else because I wouldn't be full if I just ordered the salmon. Overall: Service 5 out of 5 Food 4 out of 5

Best Italian restaurant on the Cancun strip. Ordered pizza, pasta, and a main (tuna with sesame). Service is excellent. Ambience is lovely. You will not be disappointed! Came here for lunch. Can't wait to come back for dinner.

We were surprise eating at Lorenzo during dinner that we came back the next day for lunch. We order pizza and pasta and the food was authentic Italian! This is no olive garden, the pasta here are handmade fresh making the texture chewy and irresistible. The pizza are handtoss fresh in their oven with all type of topping to choose from. The best thing about the pizza here are the outer semi burnt crust. I'm usually not a fan of pizza crust, but the semi burnt crust give off a nice crisp bite.

Overall, eating at Lorenzo's is a must when staying at Hyatt Ziva Cancún. I had dinner and lunch here and frankly, I prefer lunch at Lorenzo's rather than dinner. My dinner experience would have been perfect, if I hadn't had a mysterious allergy to something in the minestrone soup. Nevertheless, I could rave on and on about their table focaccia bread and mini charcuterie board because this was honestly (and unfortunately) better than my main course. The focaccia was warm, fluffy, and tasty especially when paired with the parmesan, prosciutto, or sun dried tomatoes on the charcuterie board. Next, we each ordered a different burrata salad. I had the Burrata Dolce which was phenomenal. Then came my minestrone soup. It was delicious, piping hot and fresh, and... gave me an allergic reaction. Despite having informed the hostess and waiter of my nut and seafood allergy before dining, I believe my minestrone was contaminated at some point during its preparation. By the time my main course (the Filetto di manzo al gorgonzola) had arrived, my stomach was in a knot and I had difficulty enjoying the rest of my meal. My steak was delicious, but I was in pain. I wanted to redeem my experience at Lorenzo's so we had lunch there the next day and it was a thousand times better. For lunch, we ordered the Crispy Chicken Salad, a Linguine ai funghi, a Vegetarian pizza and a Frutti di mare (seafood) pizza. Thankfully, there was no cross contamination this time. The chicken from the salad was crispy, juicy, and tasty. The Linguine was light and creamy. And I will never forget the amazing Vegetarian pizza. Everything we ordered went so well with each other and the pizza was arguably better than the steak I had the night before. Lorenzo's had redeemed themselves before my family and I left Cancún. Ultimately, I would highly recommend having a pizza or pasta lunch at Lorenzo's rather than dinner. You're guaranteed to get amazing flavor and a great Italian meal experience.

The margarita was strong and my mocktail was very pretty and gradient! It had orange juice, pineapple, and grenadine in it. The ceviche was very tasty! We loved the sweet mango pieces incorporated into it so much that we ordered extra mango. The filet and fries were also really good. I liked that they cooked the steak in a wood fired oven. The steak was cooked perfectly and we were so stuffed afterwards. Our server was very attentive and friendly as well. So we made a point of finding them on the second floor of a mall in the hotel zone. When we first found this hard to find location, we almost got it confused with another Italian eatery that specialized in pizza in the same area. We were the only patrons there, but hoped we would get special treatment, which we did. Our waiter was extremely friendly, spoke little English, and seemed inexperienced or maybe new. We ordered drinks to start off with, but we had to ask for menus after waiting quite a long time. The waiter made me a very delicious frozen margarita though and Joe had a Bohemian beer. We almost got pizza, but I wasn't in the mood, so instead, I ordered Ravioli Di Mozzarella Di Bufala. Joe ordered Pappardelle Con La Siccia. We began our meals with a Caprese salad and Italian bread (pizza dough style). While we waited for our food, I had time to enjoy the nice, romantic, atmosphere of the restaurant with smooth jazz playing in the back ground. I liked how modern and clean the decor was and they had TV's placed around the dining area. When our food arrived, everything was very good, especially the freshly baked bread. Joe liked it so much that we decided that we would return again before our vacation was over and try their pizza, hoping that our bread was a preview of what their pizza would be like. My only complaint at that time was that my dish was lukewarm. When the waiter asked us how everything was, I told him that my food was basically cold. He just laughed and said "OK". I knew that he didn't understand what I said and let it go. When the time came for our next visit, we once again almost went to the wrong restaurant, until I checked my bookmarks on Yelp to verify where we needed to go. (After all, the name of this place looks hard to remember or pronounce). As we entered the almost empty restaurant, we had the same waiter, however, I don't think he remembered us like we did him. He was still very nice but it looked like the owner or manager was present, and I could see he was under pressure to show us a whole platter of meats that they kept refrigerated out front. Then he told us about their specials. I almost felt guilty that we specifically came for the pizza this time. Of the appetizing selections offered, we decided to share a Margherita pizza. While waiting, we were able to watch the cook making the pizza near the pizza oven. When our food was served, we noticed right off that the pizza dough was nothing like the pizza bread we had during our last visit. In fact, the bottom crust was paper thin and soggy! Our dreams for a delicious pizza were immediately dashed! When the owner stopped at our table to see how we liked it, we were too embarrassed to tell him we hated it! After forcing down a few slices, we quietly paid the bill and left, knowing that we would have to write disappointing reviews and never again look back.....

Our main server was Alejandro and he was more than helpful in making sure we ordered what we wanted. With Italian food, I also prefer very good Italian wine versus a cocktail. He pointed me to 2 red wines that were bold and heavy as I requested. Both were just OK, but expensive. Wines by the bottle was ridiculously high. But now we really love it here, primarily because of the great service, as well as the pastas and meaty dishes. Dining & Atmoshphere: ~ White table cloth dining. Very elegant, not dim and romantic, but comfortable. "Table for two" tables might be fairly close together, but when you stay at this resort, you'll usually recognize who you're sitting next to because you probably met at the pool lol. And we've met a lot of cool people here too. They also set up tables for large groups if needed. Reservations are recommended for dinner. Plus, dressing up appropriately is required! Bellà Antipasti, Secondi, & Primis: ~ They start you off with a freshly baked olive bread loaf, meant for dipping in olive oil / balsamic. Love it when bread comes out hot! We also tried the Beef Carpacci, which were soft beef slices with a peppery saltiness! Good stuff! The Truffle Arancini were crunchy parmesan rice balls that were tasty. As for the Mussels in White Wine, mmm mmm loved the garlic sauce it was in! And we always ordered the Duo Cream Soup, which is simply refreshing! ~ For Secondi, we had tried the Chicken Parmigiana, which was OK. Nothing special imo. Same with the Pork Chop, which was a bit well-done for my pallet. The more flavorful stuff was the Lamb Shank and the Ossobuco with Milanese Risotto; OMG, these two dishes were amazing! Our two favorites of all! What I didn't get to try was the Katafi Shrimp. This popular dish must have gone past our table at least seven times. Gotta order it next time. ~ As for Primi dishes, we've enjoyed the Truffle Risotto! The Lasagna Bolognese was meaty goodness heavily covered in melted mozzarella. The Truffle Fettuccine is always a winning choice. Add some chicken to it. The Pesto Gnocchi is chewy and enjoyable! Pass on the Shrimp Ravioli as well as the Beef Cannelloni. They were good, just not as satisfying as the other Primi dishes. Tl;DR Bellà Restaurant has a variety of Italian dishes from pastas, to seafood, risottos plates, to tender meaty dishes, and they can make my gluten-free friends happy with that option. Dining here is clean and pleasant. Service by the staff and our wine som has been nothing short of excellent! Compliments to the chef! There's just so many good choices on the menu. So you can't go wrong eating here. Some dishes are a good-sized portion, but some are small enough to try if you wanna order another. Overall, we love it here!
