Who doesn't love Trader Joe's. This one ranks fairly high on my Twin Cities options since it only has a semi horrible parking lot that it shares with Total Wine (that's a plus) and is close to one of my favorite hockey stores (Pure Hockey). This location is fairly spacious with a decent check out arrangement and all of the usual, addictive TJ stuff. One of our current favorites is the amazing Spiced Cider. Love Trader Joe's. I wish there was one near my college town, because whenever I come home, I always find myself coming here. My guilty pleasure is the chocolate covered frozen bananas . An awesome snack is the dried fruit. I also love all their fun flavored juices! The staff always goes above and beyond and their marketing and signs are so so cute. Trader Joe's is Trader Joe's is Trader Joe's. Can you ever go wrong with this place? They had everything we needed as we hit the road for a trip. They even had a liquor store through a different door. I'm not sure the Minnesota liquor laws, but I assume it can't be sold in a grocery store. One problem? The parking lot was a madhouse! I usually frequent the Minnetonka location but was next door so I stopped in. This store layout is opposite Minnetonkas layout so hard to find items Right away. I like the fact they have 2 stalls in the bathroom. Minnetonka has single door bathrooms and you have to wait. Friendly cashier. My fave items are tj ketchup, japanese fried rice, applegate lunch meat, mango lemonade. My sister likes the Bay blend coffee. I dont know how their liquor store makes it with Total Wine next door. read more

I adore this TJ's! The staff here is AMAZING and always kind, helpful and patient. Today I went in to buy your orange chicken and there wasn't any in the freezer case. Asked about it, and Matt told me that the delivery truck just came and that he would look through the order and bring me some. Okay, Trader Joe's enough is enough. You are my new best friend. First off, this parking lot is a-okay, with plenty of parking spaces & is in a very convenient location. This store is laid out nicely, and everything is very easy to find. Every time I'm in, I'm finding more goodies to add to my pantry, at reasonable prices too. A few of my favorite offerings include: - Their assortment of veggies & prepacked ones too (Shredded brussel sprouts!) - Fancy oils/condiments, at not so steep prices (Their almond butter is my fave) - Their nicely packaged charcuterie & cheese assortments perfect for a quick app - Large bags of unsalted nuts of any type - Fancy varieties of sausage with all natural ingredients And of course, last but not least, don't forget to grab a bottle of wine, and some beer after your grocery run! read more

Trader Joe's is a new chain for most Midwesterners. I like the small store feel and the fresh produce smells that radiate from the produce department! They have good food at fair prices. I am not a huge price watcher so I am not sure how their prices stack up against other stores. I do like the healthy selection and the fresh, clean environment. I unfortunately do not live near this store or any Trader Joe's for that matter but I feel good shopping there. Whoa, busiest Trader Joe's I've ever set foot in! I popped into this location the Saturday before Super Bowl Sunday. Holy wow, it was like survival of the fittest in there. But the staff were working their butts off and managing to keep a level head despite all of us crazy hyenas running around fighting over the last containers of mini peanut butter cups (which ultimately I won, btw). In the end I stood in the checkout line for 15 minutes but, with mini pb cups in tow, it didn't matter. I was the mini pb cup champion. Every time I visit family in the Twin Cities, I make a point of swinging by a Trader Joe's for my old-time favorites (because no, we don't have a Trader Joe's in Iowa City. whyyy). So what TJ's items to I swear by and buy in bulk like the apocalypse is about to hit? -garlic parmesan pita chips -mini peanut butter cups -sweet chili sauce -toyaki -couscous harvest grains blend -pesto tortellini Now, will someone please stop taking all of the chili sauce? read more

Most people I know think Trader Joe's is expensive. They need to give this store a try!!! I believe you can actually save money shopping here. This is by far the nicest trader joes I've been to in Minnesota. It's bigger than most, or at least seems that way. So much so that if I go on a weekend it doesn't feel totally cramped. The people that work here are friendly and knowledgable. The prices here are the best IMO for the quality. I will definitely always pick driving an extra 5 min to go to this trader joes over any other store. read more

The best thing about this location is lots of handy places for baskets. Downside, it seems a little more sterile than some others. But who cares, there's a lot of room, and TJ is welcome anywhere and is never in competition with Whole Foods. The features I got were the green lentils, and the super spinach salad. The salad was on display and they had a whole separate fridge so you didn't have to look all over for them. I love the healthy veggie 8 and any hummus in the cold section. Good lemonade in the summer, and their own brand of mayonnaise is a great staple, and a lighter substitute than Hellman's. I swear by their sprouted wheat bread, which is low in carbs. It's in a great location, just off the France Ave exit, so it's apart from other grocery stores. Odd that they don't have a spot for plastic bags like the others. read more

I just gave a grocery store a review on Yelp. 5/5 stars too! Why am I doing this? Well mostly because your average grocery store is a pain in the butt, old and dingy, or full of so much other junk it is the size of a football field. Trader Joe's can get insanely busy. If you think Cub Foods is busy on a Saturday, step into the world of Trader Joe's. The nice thing is that you can always find a friendly staff member. They will grab anything from the back that is missing, they will give you a ridiculously huge smile and funny joke as well. I have no idea why they are always so happy, but they are and I don't mind it. They have great house products. Things like frozen orange chicken or granola cereal that I can only find at Trader Joe's and keep me coming back! The prices seem to be very competitive, but I have not compared receipt to receipt. One of the nicest things is that they have a liquor store right inside the front entrance, so you can grab some famous "two-buck chuck" wine for $2.99 or even blended scotch whiskeys for $9.99 that are drinkable in a mix. Overall, I wish they were actually in my neighborhood instead of a 15 min drive, but it is worth it on occasions to grab the must have house products I love here! read more

First time and was impressed with great pricing and unique products. The variety of products is small and so is the packaging. For a family of 5 I had trouble locating 1 of anything that could feed us as a whole for a main or side dish, I had to double up on nearly everything. For example their hot dog packs are qty of 4 and their frozen bags of meat dishes and veggies were ideal for 2. So TJ is ideal for singles and couples. Value is outstanding, I found the pricing on nuts as low as anyone else and the flavor was tasty and fresh. I will be back but I do need to stop at whole foods to pickup more vegetables and items I cannot get here. read more

What is there not to LOVE about Trader Joe's? And finally one that is only 9 miles from me. Still hoping one will open in Chanhassen! Since I know Eden Prairie with it's municiple liquors will never attract one. The awesome products you can get here at pretty good prices keeps me driving 9 miles for groceries on occasion. Although I like Lakewinds in Chanhassen for their produce, I like the dairy and other products at Trader Joe's more. They have a great variety of healthier options. I love reading their labels and seeing mostly only wholesome ingredients that I can pronounce. read more

Though the Minnetonka store will always be my favorite TJ, this one's pretty darn good. The store is always clean and well maintained, the parking lot doesn't make me feel completely claustrophobic, and the wine/alcohol section is decent. Be forewarned that if you look young for your age, every single older lady that works in the wine area will emphasize that you look about 12 years old and give you a "You're so precious" look. Every single one of them. My favorites here are the white bean hummus, organic polenta, and maple Blondies. Check out the Trader Joe's app for some fun featured items to try! (Also, can't go wrong with any of their various chocolate covered items. Or the chocolate sampler. And you can make your own six packs of beer from whatever's on the shelves. And there are ALWAYS samples. Okay, I'm stopping myself now...) This is my one stop spot. I buy my electrolyte water here for around $1.50. Kombucha gingerade is 2.99 all the time. Prices here compared to Cub foods based on quality much better. I was so excited when they finally opened a Trader Joe's here in Bloomington, I screamed when I saw it! I love walking In and looking at all the gorgeous flowers they have. The customer service is great, everyone is always so helpful and very friendly. They have a nice selection of organic food that's decently priced. I think the only way I'd stop shopping here is if they ever stopped selling the smoked gorgonzola cheese crackers and gluten free granola. read more

I'm really glad we have so many Trader Joe's to choose from in the Cities now, but like anything that expands to multiple locations, there is some allure that is lost. I shop at the Bloomington location the most, since it's the closest to where I live and can easily say that the parking lot is a luxury in comparison to their St. Louis Park location. Having said that, their prices are great and so are the majority of the items that they carry. I do call their sweet potatoes into question though (every location I've been to)...they must be purchasing them from somewhere that they've sat for a looooooooong time! Within a couple of days, the sweet potatoes start to mold & wrinkle up, if not sooner (I finally stopped buying them at TJ's, and get them at the co-ops). While I do appreciate their price points, I do also call into question their sourcing and just how organic or pure they might be since they are so secretive about the bulk majority of where they're getting the food they carry. Now that the public is more inquiring of where their food is coming from, I highly encourage Trader Joe's to be more transparent since they are positioned to be one of the most influential grocery stores on the market. Regardless of any downsides, it's convenient to have TJ's as another option to purchase food from. It's always a cheerful, upbeat place to shop with fun music in the background and helpful employees ready to assist. Another tip-of-the-hat to them is how caring they are. My neighbor recently mentioned that when she told an employee at the Bloomington location about her mother battling the end stages of cancer, they grabbed a flower bouquet to give to her. My mom had also shared a similar story that happened at one of their other TJ locations. Reaching out like that is priceless. read more

We Love Trader Joe's. I always buy my Coconut Oil from them, at the unbelievably, $5.50 price, and they have the most delicious chocolate sandwich cookies! They are even better than Oreos. Their service is top notch. As soon as we stepped inside their door, an associate greeted us and asked if we needed help finding anything. Not only did he ask us, he took us right to the shelf for the Coconut Oil, picked up the jar and handed it to me. Now that is service! You don't get that in the large supermarkets. Trader Joe's has the exact right idea. I would love to work for them since I believe the customer should always be treated well and should be served with courtesy and a smile. read more

Where do I start? I love TJ's!! Have been going for years when visiting my sister in Southern California. Great prices, on everything from olive oil to steak. Produce sometimes is iffy, but everything else is terrific. Everything in the frozen section for quick dinners or sweets is great. Try the Kona coffee truffles. You can thank me later! Small in size, limited offerings, but what they have is great. Considering where some of the things come from, it is surprising that the prices are reasonable. Looking through their shelves and frozen cases tempt me to want to buy way too many things. Their canola oil is expeller pressed and no more expensive than chemically extracted stuff in the grocery store. The nut prices are really good. Service: like most stores, there are not many employees roaming the aisles looking to be helpful. Last time I was there I found one and asked if there were more sunflower seeds in the back. After waiting around 3 minutes, I gave up and went on shopping. Then 10 minutes after my initial request, I was checking out and the employee spotted me. This Trader Joe's is smaller than others that I have been to, but they still stock most if not everything that you can find in any other locations. They stock a bunch of different types of wine under their own label and it's super cheap. The prices, however, don't reflect the quality of the vino. I actually asked my roommate to see if he could tell a difference in quality between Trader Joe's wine against a $20 bottle of wine and he could not. They have a good variety of different types of snacks and candy that will keep you coming back for more. I always find myself getting the Gummy Tummies Penguins and Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans, but you can't go wrong with anything they have their. After rave reviews by friends I stopped at Trader Joe's. I was really disappointed to discover they have no dried beans of any kind--only canned I was told. I love Trader Joe's! They have a great INEXPENSIVE selection of produce, natural and organic foods and an amazing selection of frozen foods that are great for families in a pinch. They also carry a lot of items and entree's in smaller portions so it's great for 1 or 2 people. Their wine shop is the BEST, I do not shop anywhere else for wine.
