Ever needed a special dessert for your birthday, anniversary, holiday like Halloween or Christmas or Groundhog Day? Look no further than any of the many Lunds and Byerlys grocery stores in the Twin Cities! YUM. Have a last minute "I forgot to order . ."? Get thee to Lunds & Byerlys! Last minute requests are a "piece of cake" for them. Even personalized on a run out the door! Smell the smells and tastebuds will quiver . .

Bright location, you're greeted with flowers and the greens of produce at the front, inspires me to make good choices LOL. I know I'm not going to feel crowded here due to the space given in the establishment. Each section has more than enough space for multiple people to utilize at the same time. I'm unsure if this is statewide but this location has a partnership with Bachman's (flower shop) and the display is unbelievable. The pet section is the biggest I've ever seen from this brand, everything is organized well. Staff are ready to help when you need. It's a good spot to put on your grocery list.

Their steaks taste like dog meat. Their kombucha is $1 overpriced. They are always out of ripple half and half. Their hot breakfast is never out until 7:30am, which most people need to be to work by 8am. Dogs meat steak is below for your reference.

I grew up at Byerly's....and now that I live in San Diego I miss it....lots. I miss the soup. I miss the deli. I miss pull my car around and having some load the groceries into the back. The selection of food. (sigh)

Great produce selection, this is an Opal Apple, crisp sweet with intense flavor

Closest thing to a whole foods which is being built down the street on Frances. Find honest good food here like quinoa salad and sushi that's actually fresh. Roasted corn salad is also great from the deli counter. Skip the thai peanut noodles and thai peanut broccoli salad- way to salty. I also am impressed by the expansive produce section, tried sumo oranges (think intense sweet and tart flavors) and crisp and sweet opal apple (warm golden colored apples).

This review is just based on the "dining experience". I've never much been one to get an actual meal from the deli area of a grocery store. I guess that's partly because I rarely get takeout, unless I can just eat it right there. I don't like taking it home and giving it time to get a little colder, see. But that's just me. Anyway, Lunds & Byerlys... okay, first off, let's just talk about the annoying name. Used to be there was Lunds (no apostrophe) and there was Byerly's (proper grammar FTW), and they merged. And now all those locations are called Lunds & Byerlys, with Byerly's losing both top billing and the apostrophe war. Booo, says I! I like apostrophes, and I like shorter names that aren't time-consuming and cocky! Don't think that choice hasn't negatively impacted this Yelp review, L&B! (Whoa, they totally should have just gone with L&B.) Anyway, to characterize their recent remodel as a "remodel" is a bit of an understatement, considering they demolished the old building and built this fancy new one a few steps away. And it is fancy! It's a nice facility to walk around in. And it seems they were particularly serious about modernizing the deli takeout situation because it's kind of like a groovy little buffet marketplace over in that part of the store. There's a hot bar station and a Tucci Italian station and a station that seems to have an inventive take on burritos. And there's a salad bar, and a sandwich joint, and a couple of other things like that. Around the corner the aesthetic continues to their cheesemonger and bakery. All of this comes across as really cool, and I haven't even mentioned "The Mezz", which is a very inviting upstairs eating area with a straight-up bar, as well as a community room, a fireplace, and a nice deck. This is the only time I've come here and hunkered down for a meal, so maybe future visits will impact my rating, but the quality of the food I got, which was a slab of turkey meat, potatoes, broccoli, and gravy, was pretty meh. It was of a quality that I would expect at most grocery store deli takeout places, but it probably cost a couple bucks more here. I did see some other things I'd want to try; there was neat-sounding stuff in the sandwich place, and Tucci is a fine pedigree for that Italian station. Between that and what a nice environment they've put together, I know I'll be back. But the food will need to be closer to restaurant quality for me to keep it in mind as a good option for chow.

Wonderful (but pricey) eats and ingredients to help you plan that special meal. Fab cheeses and produce and lots of gourmet goodies.

On my way to work I stopped by Lunds & Byerly's (cause they're the only ones opened by my work) and this tastes the best.

I ordinarily shop at my neighborhood Kowalski's at 54 th and Lyndale Avenue South which used to be Red Owl (are you old enough to remember Red Owl?). My neighborhood Kowalski's is small (intimate when you are trying to pass someone in a lane), dark, and sometimes stock is limited. The Kowalski's at Southdale is overwhelming. It is large, well lighted and well stocked. I felt like a refugee from a third world country. We decided to pick up lunch. In addition to Kowalski's superb soups they had a pho/ramen bar. I was dubious as I love pho at Vietnamese restaurants but this wasn't bad definitely tasted like pho. There were many other choices for prepared food to take out. We bought a few things and as is typical of Kowalski's the staff were friendly and helpful. There is parking at the entrance and they will carry your purchases to your car. I doubt I will drive all the way to Southdale for my regular shopping but I must say I was overwhelmed in a positive sense.

It's beautifully laid out, well-stocked and well-organized, and is full of delicious things and helpful staff to connect you with said delicacies. Located in Southdale Mall, this is pure convenience for both your regular grocery shopping AND snacks on the go. They've got an amazing selection of ready-to-eat items, including a ramen bar (those exist!), a salad bar, a grill, and pizza. The store is clean, bright, and welcoming with an upscale feel. I definitely recommend visiting if you're at the mall. It's a bit out of the way for me to replace my regular grocery store, but I would probably pick it over the food court these days. Bonus: they have awesome coffee!

When I walked in it seemed like a very regular day. They did have 3 sample stands around the store but were a bit lackluster overall, nothing special. I did ask a staff about it and worked my way up to management - who basically said what they have is all they are doing for the event - due to staff call outs. Essentially there was no event taking place. I did browse around a bit and ended up grabbing a few items. Seemed like they had great deals and some items you can't really get at other stores. They sell baba's hummus, which I love. The produce looked good and they generally had a lot to offer as a smaller grocery store. I do like that they mostly group items together so you can see all options in one place, like gluten free crackers and next to regular crackers. Same with some dairy free options for other items. They have a ton of parking and if you park underground in the ramp they have a cart ramp to get your items down easier.
