I had breakfast today at Market grille (2/4/25) As of today all hy-vees are debuting a new breakfast menu that brings back their hash browns! I had the Good start breakfast today which includes eggs how you like, choice of meat I had bacon and toast for $9. Hy-Vee's also are now not going to have wahlburgers anymore it's going back to being Market grille for lunch and dinner as well. Can't wait to see what's on the lunch and dinner menus is going forward. I had good service at Market grille and in the grocery store. Love the ambience at Hy-Vee Eagan it's one of my favorite locations!!

Beautifully displayed produce

The store is clean and beautiful so you don't mind staying longer to buy more items. The aisles are wide and well organized, no steps, no obstacles, no accessibility issues noted. The produce is beautiful and delicious, but prices are hit or miss. You'll need to do some homework before buying to see which items are good deals. The fast food possibilities seem endless, but they are not my favorite things to eat. The Wahlburger burgers are tasty, but I don't want to try the Asian, Pizza, Market Grill or Deli ever again. We love the donuts at Hy-Vee. The cakes are beautiful but expensive. I always buy birthday candles here. They always have a beautiful selection and they're very affordable too. We love their fresh artisan bread from the bakery, especially the sourdough. They have a great floral department. The flower arrangements are gorgeous but pricey. I prefer to wait for great sales for florals. I find their clothing department too expensive, and will likely never buy anything from there. It still feels odd to see the clothing department inside a grocery store. I love the convenience of having a Starbucks inside the Hy-Vee store, but it is a bit odd to have the Starbucks building just 20 steps outside the Hy-Vee.

Hy-vee floral was amazing to work with. I needed a last minute plant for visitation and without hesitation they jumped into action and had it delivered within a couple of hours. The arrangement was beautiful! Excellent customer service!

Yule logs and more

When I lived in Rochester, the closest grocery store to my home was Rainbow Foods. It ended up folding and I had to find another grocery store. I became a Hy-Vee shopper and loved it so much. I was a regular until I left the city and headed back to Winnipeg. Thanks to the Omicron variant, some of my plans have changed on this trip, which isn't exactly shocking. On my travel day, I was to see a women's hockey game between Canada and the US hours after landing in the Twin Cities. It was cancelled and I was relieved. I got reimbursed for both the ticket and parking. I needed to get some groceries and thought that I'd go after the game. Instead, after checking into the hotel, I did my grocery shopping first before grabbing some dinner. I ended up at this Hy-Vee that I have been eyeing for a while. It's across from the usual Starbucks that I visit, which would make getting here a three-minute drive from the hotel. This Hy-Vee is humungous! It has a Walburgers on the left when you are staring at the grocery store's main entrance. The grocery store is in the middle. On the right is a medical clinic, and a pharmacy and grocery pickup. I decided to park in the middle of the parking lot. I headed inside. I probably said, "Oh, my gosh!" audibly a number of times while at this store. I was welcomed with huge snack trays and large bags of M&M's candy. The produce section was in front of me. I needed some lemons and got some. Everything looked fresh and perfect. The bakery section was impressive. I loved the yule logs. I stood in front of the microwave popcorn section for a long time. So much selection! I eventually got some because I love popcorn and the popcorn button on the microwave in my hotel room. It felt like being at a large Loblaws or Zehrs store. It had a Joe Fresh section. That was such a surprise. The ice cream and dairy-alternative sections were amazing. I was out for a bit, so I didn't get any ice cream because ice cream soup wasn't in the cards. However, I picked up a carton of silk almond-coconut beverage. I had a nice man help cash me out. Hy-Vee has a perks and gas points program now. I asked how I could sign up for it. He got me a card with two key tags. I simply needed to register online and I was good to go. I got points for my current purchase. He placed my items in a plastic bag. I thanked him and headed out the door. I look forward to returning here. There was so much to see. Walburgers is also intriguing to me. I last had a burger there at Pearson International Airport years ago and loved it. I hope that I have a similar experience when I try it out soon. (483)

Sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken.

I've had Hy-Chi (HyVee chinese food) twice now. Once it was amazing, 10/10 and the other time was less than desirable. I ordered the orange chicken meal with white rice and an egg roll and that meal was amazing, the chicken was well coated, the rice was ample and sufficient and the egg roll was delicious. The second time, I ordered the same thing but with sweet and sour chicken along with the orange chicken. The orange chicken is great but the sweet and sour chicken doesn't come pre-coated so they give you packets of the sauce. Unfortunately, they only gave me one packet which was not enough for even the chicken, let alone to go with my egg roll as well (which I had asked for extras). So, I was really disappointed there BUT I gave the food a higher rating because that was my only complaint and from now on I'll stick to the orange chicken and not the sweet and sour.

Hy-Vee is typically a special visit for something I can't find in my regular grocery store. I love their bakery. Their cookies, cakes, and cupcakes are so colorful and creative. Definitely worth a stop.

This store gets 5 stars from me. My favorite thing was the dessert section at the front of the store. Cakes, donuts, cupcakes, cookies, etc. Omg! We ended up buying three items to share, but it was so hard to choose! My second favorite area was where you could get hot food to go. Great selection! Everything from sushi to meatloaf! Hubby ordered chinese complete with a fortune cookie. I ordered broiled chicken. With the hot food and desserts, dinner was complete! The layout of the store is good. Pretty typical. Large aisles. Cashier was friendly. Prices a little higher than some stores I've been at, but worth it for the selection and great shopping experience!

Very delicious ice cream from the west coast. Hard to find in other stores. Thanks Hy-Vee!
Mariam R.

I always have a decent time at Hy-Vee wandering through the aisles and this is like any other Hy-Vee. Huge selection, huge bakery case, and huge lines. Seriously, picture the end of the world and people are running around like it's their last day - it's always this busy. Maybe if I came earlier it would be a different case. Despite this, I came here for one thing and one thing only - Tillamook ice cream. I'm from Oregon and it's my favorite tub ice cream from the west coast and I haven't been able to find it in any other stores nearby me. However, they had a couple Tillamook tubs here. Success! There was one flavor they were out of so I went in search for an employee. Not many to be found. Took a while to get one for how busy it was, but once I did, he was very helpful and accomodating! Thanks to him for searching so hard to get me my ice cream that I've been craving for years. If you're reading this, I appreciate you!

I used to think of Trader Joe's as a more upper-middle class grocer, but not anymore. Everything (with the exception of meat and milk) is very affordable. That said, their shopping experience remains the same high-quality, enjoyable experience, with aisles of yummy options to browse, especially with the rotating seasonal options and new offerings. I've been here several times since moving to Eagan, and I've always encountered friendly employees. The checkout always moves quickly and efficiently. I also love grabbing some free stickers and coloring pages on my way out; it's like a little dopamine burst for my inner child! There are restrooms available to shoppers. They are gender-neutral, which is awesome for a trans guy like me. The bathroom walls are decorated with fun paintings much like the rest of the inside. They are also spacious and clean. Occasionally I have spotted a local food truck parked nearby, serving unique offerings. Once I got to snag some apple cider donuts that way, hehe. The only thing that's a negative about this place is that the parking lot (shared with the movie theatre) is smallish and has a weird layout, so navigating that can be quite challenging. Thankfully I usually walk! But even so, I have to watch out crossing because the cars aren't paying attention to pedestrians!

I never really go to Trader Joe's with a list or plan, I kind of just browse to see what they have and grab whatever- usually snacks. Sometimes I hate that I find unique snacks and end up liking/loving them, then they don't carry it anymore but that's not this particular locations fault. This store was very neat. Layout seemed backwards compared to the Bloomington location but it's not a huge store so it's easy to look down every aisle. I love that you can buy single cans of sparking water/drinks here. Staff were super friendly at the checkout.

For years, I have driven past this Cub Foods in Eagan. It's on Town Centre Drive, which is fast food lane that I frequent often. On Friday the 13th earlier this month, I decided to get some groceries, and then pick up lunch across the street from Arby's and KFC. I stocked up a bit, as there was a winter storm warning for late Saturday night. It ultimately turned into a blizzard warning. There was lots of parking in front of the grocery store. I backed into a spot. It was a bit windy. I walked into the store. I needed to get drinks. Cases of Coke products were across from the shopping carts. I grabbed a cart and looked at the Coke products. I got a case each of Diet Coke and Diet cherry Coke. The produce section looked cheerful. Everything looked fresh and healthy. It was a day before pie day. I liked that various fruit pies were going for $3.14 each. I hit the prepared food section. I got a tater tot hotdish, which is so Minnesotan. It's a beef casserole with tater tots and cheese on top. I had to get some. Seeing rainbow gelatin as a dessert is also Minnesotan. I didn't get any, but I did look at it and smile. I was pleased to see an Asian section. I saw everything from ramune to coffee candy. It was cool. I was mesmerized by the frozen dinners. I remember that they used to be called Swansons Hungry-Man TV dinners. It's simply Hungry-Man. I got the salisbury steak, as it's my favourite. I also got Marie Callender's garlic butter steak bites. It seemed up my alley. This store had a lot of Coke cherry vanilla float beverages. I got a couple of bottles of the zero-sugar version. I got the nicest woman at the checkout. She scanned all my items and helped bag my items. I had her scan my Cub barcode off my phone. I then paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked her and rolled my groceries to my rental vehicle. I put the cart back and then went to fetch lunch. I managed to haul everything back to my hotel room. It was nice having a stocked mini fridge. The tater tot hotdish was delicious. I had it as a snack later on in the evening. I'd get it again. I had the other items when I hibernated in my room during the blizzard. The salisbury steaks were comforting. I loved the mushroom sauce with the steaks. It also came with a chocolate brownie that you scooped out halfway through the microwaving cooking process. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans that were perfect. The garlic steak bites were amazing. My room smelled like buttery garlic for a while... haha! The steak bites were tender and full of garlic butter flavour. It came with green beans, which I dipped into the garlic butter. Heck, I was looking for anything to dip into this garlic butter sauce. I should go to Cub more often. It had everything that I needed. I'll be back for more when I'm in the area again. (132)

It's even within walking distance, which made for a great excuse to get out of the house and take a long walk on wintery days just to pick up a small/light item or two. (And no worries about your ice cream melting on the walk back in zero degree temps, haha!) Truthfully though, I still also go to Aldi (up the freeway a bit) and the Walmart Supercenter over in Burnsville for the BULK of my grocery shopping. Cub isn't the thrifty option, especially for things like meat, produce, canned goods, and even dairy. So when I need ingredients for creating a big crockpot dinner or to stock up for the week ahead, I don't shop at Cub. That doesn't mean Cub doesn't or can't have some good deals, it just means you'll be keeping your eye out for those deals, and be signed up for their loyalty program with your phone number at checkout. For example, I definitely splurged on soda pop last week when they put 12-packs and 24-packs on sale. It reminds me of an Albertson's or Lucky's. It's kind of like it's supposed to be a more "upscale" experience than skulking about Walmart or bargain grocers. Like they have a cut counter for the deli and butcher, that kind of thing, if that still matters to you in this day and age when these niceties are being phased out to reduce headcount and streamline inventory. So it might be worth that extra nickel (ha, who am I kidding? With this inflation, extra buck) to you if you have the means. I always utilize the self-checkout. I dunno, it's just my preference to do my own thing and not be burdensome, and also organize my groceries in my reusable bags just the way I want to. But the employees monitoring that area (or who've helped me when I inevitably double-scan an item on accident LOL) have always been friendly and kind towards me and my husband. At least one of them recognizes us by now, which is sweet. Also, the bathrooms have always been reasonable clean, and they're positioned very conveniently by the entrance so you can use them before you start shopping. I've also won plushies out of their crane machine in the antechamber, lol. And if you're here the right time of year, there'll be Girl Scouts selling cookies! Yay! I can't speak to their pharmacy, as I've never used it. The parking lot is large and not shared with much else that draws a lot of customers. They seem to keep up well with cart returns, because I never see too many packed into the cart bays or left around in the lot.

It's also right next to their house chips and salsa, which are popular items. Maybe they should move them to a place that's not so crowded and busy.
