I don't have a Hy-Vee near me, but I do make the trip to visit at least a few times a year to find things that are harder to find in my area. Hy-Vee has a larger-than-average selection of of items in most of its departments, particularly when it comes to health (its protein powder and bar selection rivals that of many supplement stores), international foods (as good as it gets unless you're going to an international grocery store), and beauty (they've got a better selection than some pharmacies). It's a popular place, so it can be busy. This, combined with some slightly narrow aisles, can make it feel quite crowded, but it's easy to navigate, so it's still efficient. Check-out is usually pretty quick, too. Add in plenty of parking, and you get a very convenient shopping experience. read more

I had breakfast today at Market grille (2/4/25) As of today all hy-vees are debuting a new breakfast menu that brings back their hash browns! I had the Good start breakfast today which includes eggs how you like, choice of meat I had bacon and toast for $9. Hy-Vee's also are now not going to have wahlburgers anymore it's going back to being Market grille for lunch and dinner as well. Can't wait to see what's on the lunch and dinner menus is going forward. I had good service at Market grille and in the grocery store. The store is clean and beautiful so you don't mind staying longer to buy more items. The aisles are wide and well organized, no steps, no obstacles, no accessibility issues noted. The produce is beautiful and delicious, but prices are hit or miss. You'll need to do some homework before buying to see which items are good deals. The fast food possibilities seem endless, but they are not my favorite things to eat. The Wahlburger burgers are tasty, but I don't want to try the Asian, Pizza, Market Grill or Deli ever again. We love the donuts at Hy-Vee. The cakes are beautiful but expensive. I always buy birthday candles here. They always have a beautiful selection and they're very affordable too. We love their fresh artisan bread from the bakery, especially the sourdough. They have a great floral department. The flower arrangements are gorgeous but pricey. I prefer to wait for great sales for florals. I find their clothing department too expensive, and will likely never buy anything from there. It still feels odd to see the clothing department inside a grocery store. I love the convenience of having a Starbucks inside the Hy-Vee store, but it is a bit odd to have the Starbucks building just 20 steps outside the Hy-Vee. read more

2 stars as 1 was removed due to lack of customer service. There was a bagger at the checkout next to us and he didn't come over to bag our items. I told the cashier I'd help and he was very appreciative - I turned to look and saw two (assuming they are managers as they were in dress shirts) standing there watching the checkout lines. I suppose they're too good to bag groceries yet customers who are not on the payroll should be expected to do it themselves. Pretty ridiculous for the prices being charged. L Overall the store is clean, bright and includes a Wahlburgers location. Adjacent liquor store. Ample parking - huge lot. Produce is really spread out, lots of wasted real estate in this layout. Fruits are often not ripe and hard, so plan to buy a few days ahead of time. The prices are a bit shocking - very comparable to what you see on the west coast. Definitely some better value locations in the area if you've got the flexibility. Large selection of housewares and gift items as well as a natural products section but dang, for being employee owners you'd think the employees (especially leadership) would place a greater importance on the level of customer service. read more

On occasion I've done a little walk around and they have everything you could possibly need food wise, snack wise, drink wise. The aisles are super clean. Not sure if this is the right Hy-Vee, but the one I go to has a great hibachi grill, unfortunately, the newer cooks love to use seed oils, I've been sick lately. I thought they always use the water. Prices often ring up higher than marked. Marked prices on most items are more expensive than at Target. Their takeaway prepared food is fine but not stellar. Their sushi is fine. The carts don't have cup holders for the in-store Starbucks. The store layout is rather random. People will also just randomly meander and stop in the walkways. Store frequently parks pallets in walkways making it harder to push a cart around. Their produce quality is abysmal. I have yet to visit and find an onion that isn't smashed or rotting. Tomatoes are frequently damaged beyond usability. This store is usually sold out of any of the greens I'm looking for. I bought a bag of coffee last week that tastes like melted plastic - and it was more expensive than coffee at other grocery stores. Liquor store selection is limited and a bit random. Plenty of options for refrigerated beer. The butcher counter staff have been reasonably helpful. Their house brats are decent if a bit expensive. Most offensively, this Supermarket doesn't code as a Supermarket on American Express cards, which means you aren't eligible for 4X or 6% rewards like at most other grocery stores. read more

When I lived in Rochester, the closest grocery store to my home was Rainbow Foods. It ended up folding and I had to find another grocery store. I became a Hy-Vee shopper and loved it so much. I was a regular until I left the city and headed back to Winnipeg. Thanks to the Omicron variant, some of my plans have changed on this trip, which isn't exactly shocking. On my travel day, I was to see a women's hockey game between Canada and the US hours after landing in the Twin Cities. It was cancelled and I was relieved. I got reimbursed for both the ticket and parking. I needed to get some groceries and thought that I'd go after the game. Instead, after checking into the hotel, I did my grocery shopping first before grabbing some dinner. I ended up at this Hy-Vee that I have been eyeing for a while. It's across from the usual Starbucks that I visit, which would make getting here a three-minute drive from the hotel. This Hy-Vee is humungous! It has a Walburgers on the left when you are staring at the grocery store's main entrance. The grocery store is in the middle. On the right is a medical clinic, and a pharmacy and grocery pickup. I decided to park in the middle of the parking lot. I headed inside. I probably said, "Oh, my gosh!" audibly a number of times while at this store. I was welcomed with huge snack trays and large bags of M&M's candy. The produce section was in front of me. I needed some lemons and got some. Everything looked fresh and perfect. The bakery section was impressive. I loved the yule logs. I stood in front of the microwave popcorn section for a long time. So much selection! I eventually got some because I love popcorn and the popcorn button on the microwave in my hotel room. It felt like being at a large Loblaws or Zehrs store. It had a Joe Fresh section. That was such a surprise. The ice cream and dairy-alternative sections were amazing. I was out for a bit, so I didn't get any ice cream because ice cream soup wasn't in the cards. However, I picked up a carton of silk almond-coconut beverage. I had a nice man help cash me out. Hy-Vee has a perks and gas points program now. I asked how I could sign up for it. He got me a card with two key tags. I simply needed to register online and I was good to go. I got points for my current purchase. He placed my items in a plastic bag. I thanked him and headed out the door. I look forward to returning here. There was so much to see. Walburgers is also intriguing to me. I've had Hy-Chi (HyVee chinese food) twice now. Once it was amazing, 10/10 and the other time was less than desirable. I ordered the orange chicken meal with white rice and an egg roll and that meal was amazing, the chicken was well coated, the rice was ample and sufficient and the egg roll was delicious. The second time, I ordered the same thing but with sweet and sour chicken along with the orange chicken. The orange chicken is great but the sweet and sour chicken doesn't come pre-coated so they give you packets of the sauce. Unfortunately, they only gave me one packet which was not enough for even the chicken, let alone to go with my egg roll as well (which I had asked for extras). So, I was really disappointed there BUT I gave the food a higher rating because that was my only complaint and from now on I'll stick to the orange chicken and not the sweet and sour. read more

I always have a decent time at Hy-Vee wandering through the aisles and this is like any other Hy-Vee. Huge selection, huge bakery case, and huge lines. Seriously, picture the end of the world and people are running around like it's their last day - it's always this busy. Maybe if I came earlier it would be a different case. Despite this, I came here for one thing and one thing only - Tillamook ice cream. I'm from Oregon and it's my favorite tub ice cream from the west coast and I haven't been able to find it in any other stores nearby me. However, they had a couple Tillamook tubs here. Success! There was one flavor they were out of so I went in search for an employee. Not many to be found. Took a while to get one for how busy it was, but once I did, he was very helpful and accomodating! I frequent this Hy-vee during my lunch breaks for a quick lunch and light grocery shopping. I always like walking through the doors to be greeted by such a large bakery of decadent and delicious treats and tasty pastries. It's a real treat if they have samples! The food bar is okay. I've visited the Mexican, Asian, pizza and salad bar...but I mostly stick to the salad which is okay. The $1 pizza on Friday is a deal but I must say you get what you pay for. I absolutely love what they call their "health food" section. My son has a few food allergies so I stop here when I need to stock up on allergen friendly snacks and treats. The prices are slightly higher than the average grocery store but Hy-Vee is of a slightly better quality than others. read more

This store has been nothing but trouble every single time I've been in it. The produce usually spoils within 2 days of getting it home. I have thrown more away than I've eaten. I I just looked for an item that their website says they have, and 2 different people tried to find it without finding it. I talked to a manager, and he was completely useless. The Hy-Vee store in New Hope delivery personnel (LaShay) turned out to be very disingenuous regarding meeting customer's expectations & didn't follow instructions at all & said a couple of my purchases selections were "all out of stock" even the SUBSTITUTIONS too. but when I called the store to check the guy (male) who went to look & check & said the other SUBSTITUTIONSUBSTITUTIONS were there available & before that a Manager (female) said she was going to do some "detective" work & look into what's going on & will call back, but never did .So when called back to speak to a Manager they transferred me to a phone that rung for 4 minutes with no one answering or ever called me back either yesterday. My was placed at 2-3 pm Sunday Oct.6th 2024 , and said it would be delivered 4-5pm the same day 1-2 hours later, but instead was delivered 7-8 pm last night without a notification, call, text, or communication at all (but LaShay did prior to say what was out of stock???) & left items at the door. My purchase total was $78.00 which the "EXPEDITED DELIVERY FEE" was $14.95 plus her tip but my purchases totaled only $60, & I just join there Perks & Membership last night!! So does ANYONE from Hy-Vee Management team or Corporate Executives or Administration thinks this MEETS or EXCEEDS Hy-Vee 's customers EXPECTATIONS STANDARDS or policies??? For everyday items, this HyVee is a good spot. Its clean and inviting which helps when you are after a few items. But I do encourage you to shop around at other grocery stores for certain items. For example, $7 for deli cold cuts is a little insane considering you get maybe half a pound. read more

We were visiting Minnesota from Arizona and it was nice to go into a HyVee store again. That was my grocery store of choice when we lived in Nebraska. This is a huge, new one, and very nice. I could've walked and browsed for much longer than we had time for! I was impressed that they had a huge section of keto products, but disappointed that they seemed to be out of the keto bread I was looking for. One night we were in the mood for Chinese food and decided to get it from this HyVee. They had a special for a 4-person meal. We got two pints of fried rice/lo mein noodles, four pints of entrees, four egg rolls, and four crab rangoon, plus fortune cookies. Everything was tasty and the employees who helped us were great. I don't usually shop here as there aren't that many close to my home, so I've only gone when I'm in the city which was maybe 3-4 times. Anyhow. The store is a little difficult to navigate. Where I think something would be, it's never there haha. I'm an out of towner obviously. The staff were not knowledgeable about where items were located and the staff at check out scan items extremely and frustratingly slow, like turtle slow. I've noticed that at all of the hyvees I've been to though. They're nice though, just have no drive and it's noticeable. read more

I am VERY disappointed in Hy-Vee Eagan when it involves donations to the local food pantry. I have volunteered at The Open Door in Eagan, and picked up donations at this Hy-Vee Eagan location several times over the past few years and it's only gotten worse in how much food and other items that Hy-vee Eagan does not donate, but instead throws in the garbage (or gives to its employees as I know for a fact they are doing). I know other Hy-vee locations that gladly donate. Other local supermarkets are very generous in their donations. For example, today, Feb. 24, 2025, other supermarkets in the area donated bakery, dairy, deli, grocery, meat, produce and household goods, each amounting to 500 pounds to over 1300 pounds of food and groceries, where Hyvee-Eagan donated 100 pounds, which consisted of only bakery and dairy. Randi, the warehouse manager, was very rude when I rescued food there and told me not to ask any employee throwing away what appeared to be good food if they could donate it instead of trash it. The dumpster is immediately next to where the food shelf pickup is at, so it's hard not to see what is being thrown away. She (Randi) said that the items to be trashed are priced out differently than what is to be donated. Randi also berated me when a few of the employees talked to me about whether I wanted what they were trashing, stating that she thought she was clear in not talking to employees. On one occasion, there were carts of flower plants at the place where we rescue food, and I asked if they were donations. Randi had the flower person come back and throw each plant in the dumpster right in front of me. Also, when they have donated some items that clearly came from the cooler, Hy-Vee Eagan leaves the food out of the cooler so long that the temperature is so warm that the food pantry has to throw it out. I talked to the store director, Jake Dimmitt, back on December 9, 2024 and expressed my concern then as the food donations on that day from Hy-Vee Eagan were 300 pounds (mostly bread and dairy) where other supermarkets on that same day ranged from 600 to 1600 pounds donated (and several were smaller stores). I told Jake how other supermarkets generally allow food-rescue teams to pick up out of coolers and certain locations in the warehouse (and are usually boxed up), not out of shopping carts by the dumpster. I asked Jake to get back to me by the end of the week, or I would boycott the store and leave a negative review. He retorted that they might donate elsewhere then. He never called me back as I had requested, and that was two months ago. I boycotted the Hy-Vee store in Eagan, and here's the review Jake. I am not asking for you to donate items instead of selling them in the store. Think about others who are starving and bring hope and help to the community. I can't imagine it's that much more work to donate vs. trashing, and I would think it would be better bottom line if you are pricing trashed items at cost and donated items at retail (my take on what Randi said). Do better please!!! There are people in need in the local community. Please help!! read more

I love this store and the fact that I live so close by. Each time I go to another grocery chain down the road, I joke that it's like going to the 13th floor with low ceilings/flickering lights/bad ambiance. That just means this Hy-Vee is pretty nice and well-maintained. Shopping here I don't have to worry about accidentally buying out-dated products or gross meat/produce. It is a little pricey, which is why I only give it 4 stars. There are products like Fairlife milk that is less expensive elsewhere, but I'll still buy it here out of convenience. Everyone that's helped me here has been very friendly and professional. I love walking by the bakery at the front and admiring all the donuts, cakes, cookies and pastries. read more

This is my go to place for those hard to find foods: Butterball Turkey Burgers, Kale Puffs, Skinny Pop, etc. They have a lot of specialized areas (Gluten Free, Cheeses, Smoothies) which makes shopping easy. - They also have a "food court" with prepared food and a restaurant - They have a huge bakery with tons of sweets and treats Cons: - I buy fresh vegetables each week on Sunday, but this location is often very low on vegetables. It is a very large store, and they have a great selection of meats, bakery items, plus there is housewares and there's even a small section there(Joe Fresh brand?) that has clothes that were on a great clearance where I got some new summer tops. Not for the first time did I notice that my receipt reflects some prices different than ones displayed in the store. Sara Lee bread was marked under 4$, but I was charged $4.59. Same thing happened with a jar of Jif peanut butter. I simply would not have purchased these items at the prices shown on the reciept. Bought some strawberries at an advertises sale price. I carefully selected a package that seemed to have mostly unblemished berries, but when I got them home, I see that many of the non-visible berries are damaged and only partly useable. In fairness, this happens in a lot of stores, and in this case, the berries were inexpensive. Eggs were 2$! The difference in above items only amounted to a couple of dollars, but I have noticed deceptive advertising/tricks in the past, so I usually shop elsewhere. Today, I was in the area, so stopped in. For someone used to the Marshall, MN Hy-Vee, I was blown away by this store and what it offers - all of the market/grill choices, the restaurant, the baked goods, clothing, and pharmacy. What don't they offer? Any grocery store where I can find Greek Mizithra cheese ranks tops in my book! It's not easy to find. Usually, I can only find it at Lunds/Byerly's, but this store had it. I was here early in the morning. I'd love to come again during the day when all of the grills are in full swing. You have your choice of Asian, Italian, Hickory/South/Comfort, and more. I couldn't believe all of the choices. The bakery case up front had the most delectable looking assortment of goodies I've seen in a long time. I wanted one of everything. They'll give Lunds/Byerly's a run for their money. The butcher area had something I hadn't seen elsewhere - dry roasted beef - delicious looking cuts of rib eye steak and more for a mere $23 per pound. It would be fun to try... just once. When I rounded the frozen foods and saw the clothing section, I wondered if I was still in a grocery store. They look to have a small, carefully selected variety of clothing that was sharp looking. While the employees are nice and the shopping experience is pleasant, I constantly find myself getting to register and the prices are ringing up more expensive than advertised and I have to ask for help in getting the price changed to the actual advertised price. It has happened on multiple occasions and makes me wonder how many needless dollars people have unknowingly spent being fooled by this. I struggle to understand how your digital price tags aren't connected to your terminal point of sales system even when *I am a Hy-Vee Rewards Perks member*. I don't prefer to shop here strictly for this reason as I find it to be shady business practice and a means to attract people. I understand that it takes a lot to be able to update hundreds of thousands of skus through your system, but when it has to do with people's money, that's tapping into a significant offense. Otherwise I'd probably shop here more because they have a decent selection and great available restaurants and eatery options. The bakery goods are delicious as well. I prefer this shopping experience as it is cleaner and more put together, and who ever chooses the music does a great job. This Hy-Vee was in Saint Paul Minnesota and we wanted to get some old Dutch potato chips to bring back to Colorado where I live and it was probably one of the most amazing hugest stores I've been in in so many years and I sure wish we had some thing that was even comparable in Colorado we just don't. read more

We had been hearing about Hy Vee for a while. So we checked this one out while in the area. Extremely underwhelmed to say the least. Produce was nothing special and no better and no more variety than our small town store. Just more of it. Lots of it was old. Great meat counter, but prices were high, to high in fact. Overall if I wanted to go to a great market, it would be Lund's and Byerlys or Whole Foods. Would be great if I wanted 800 doughnuts. Also looked at the various food court type places. Meh.... Oh, had to bag our own stuff. Oh, something more, we bought a couple of prime steaks. Cooked them properly, done as they should be. Pure crap, ate maybe half of each and threw away the rest. I shopped here around 7:10 early last week. I left my cart in the next aisle for only a few minutes while I went to look at hair products and found the cart gone. An employee had taken it and was loading my groceries into her cart. She apologized and gave me back my groceries. I checked out and spoke to a manager. She apologized too but said carts are frequently abandoned and the employee might have just walked in. I left and a few days later I started shopping at Cub. They have more in stock, more cashiers, and no one took my cart. I shop before work so need to be in and out. I do not recommend this place. read more

It's weird to see Hy-Vee in this new retail location when I remember the land belonging to Lockheed Martin from years ago. So long military industrial complex, hello Hy-Vee! My Eagan residing parents rave about this grocery store. The space, the quality, the food, the price... I met my friend here for a coffee & to check out the hype (I love checking out local grocery stores-I do). You walk into the store & you're immediately in awe of the newness, the sparkle, you feel like you've walked into the Saks5thAve of grocery stores. I swear the lighting makes you even look 10lbs lighter! I was amazed to see the vast amount of products available--protein powders, homeopathic, clothing, aisles of a mini international market, & the most extensive display of halo top ice creams I've ever seen from any grocery store (I think all flavors were represented)! We could not be happier with our choice to go with Hy-Vee bakery in Eagan for our October 2019 wedding. Meeting with Executive Pastry Chef Bryce Ekeren was a joy. He sat down with us to discuss what we were looking for in a cake and sent us home with plenty of samples. The only difficult part of the whole process was picking from all the tasty options!
