I normally don't shop at Hy-vee as none are close to my home. I was near this one after seeing a client and stopped in briefly. I bought pork ribs, cream cheese, blueberry pie filling, gummy bears and an alien candy thing. There were only 2 check out lanes open with huge lines, so I used self check out. There are other Hy-vee locations in Savage and Eagan, but their locations are not closeby, unless I an driving by, I probably don't frequent these or make a special trip. I moved to Minneapolis in the Summer and traveled around town, stopping at many different specialty and grocery store locations, to check out the seafood options. This Hy-Vee is the best place for many miles for the quality and price. I prefer to prepare a meal myself rather than pay the high price at a seafood restaurant (and a tip), especially when it comes to shellfish. My favorite is the Dungeness crab legs (in season) that are offered without having to buy the whole crab. The seafood and shellfish selections at this Hy-Vee cover all of my preferences. I usually make a stop at Hy-Vee when I'm looking for something special. This trip it was for fun stuff to get for a Raclette party plus a fancy dessert. I got the usual fruits and veggies but had fun picking out charcuterie tray meats, olive paste, and the real Swiss raclette cheese (amongst many other cheeses). They were having a special on different kinds of brats so I added a variety of those to my list. Their breads and crackers are unique. It's a great place to explore and come up with creative ideas to make your menu more interesting. Their desserts are always creative, festive, and fancy. I love Hy-Vee and grew up going to this grocery store, and Rainbow Foods back when that was around. When Hy-Vee started building in Lakeville I was thrilled because I had moved from Rochester, where there were several of these stores to the AV/Lakeville area where there wasn't one very close by. After the Lakeville store was built I've done a bulk of my shopping here, mainly with the weekly sales and specials that they offer. I do wish that produce was fresher because I often find it is spoiling or borderline about too. I also dislike how the weekly coupons don't always work because they don't list the specific items. So I've often been overcharged because the item I got wasn't the flavor that the coupon works on. Frustrating because the coupons usually just say "select varieties" and leaves you guessing until checkout - thank it's super hard to find someone to help if you use the self checkout. Just a bit of a mess. They've also expanded their self checkout area which is ok if you have a few items and don't use coupons. If you want to see a person than those lines are usually quite a bit longer. So I've learned not to shop at Hy-Vee when I'm rushing lol. I recently visited the bakery and I have to say, they have a great bakery! I got the Blueberry Muffin Cake Donut, which was $1.00 and the special flavor of the month. It was good! I've tried their special donuts too - the large Fruity Pebbles or S'mores donuts .. they all are delicious and you can't go wrong. One of my favorite spots is their Sushi Bar, the California roll is so yummy and I enjoy watching the chef make it. I usually get sushi when they have their Bogo special - Buy 1 roll and get 1 free. It's a great deal! I've also had their Asian food front mn the hot bar. Can be hit or miss with that and I've found they change up their menu so if you find something you like it might not be there the next time around which can be a bit of a bummer. All in all though I like this Hy-Vee and do think that management tries hard to support a positive customer experience across every department. It's a large store with several departments, so a lot to manage and I think they've done a good job of that so far. I encourage you to visit for a shopping experience, hot food bar experience, sushi experience or simply to grab a yummy donut, cookie or specialty cake. You just can't go wrong here! read more

This my favorite place to buy fish. Chef training has spoiled me enough to dine at home for fish mostly. A selection and price especially features will please you. Also a breakfast special that maybe a secret it seems. Was brought here with a friend and amazed. The service everywhere in the many shops all under one roof will demonstrate staff who cares about the customer a great deal. The most inviting thing about this location is the Ambient feel of always clean parking lot, entrances and insides. Especially like how festive the entryway is decorated. I ordered groceries to be delivered today from HyVee, when ordering it asks if you are ok with a substitution if an item is not in stock. So they replace my spring mix with a different brand and upon opening I could smell it was bad then when I looked at the bottom of the carton I could see the mixture was runny & limp going stale, then I notice the expiration date is tomorrow. Not a good substitution, also the red grapes picked were very soft and will likely need to be thrown in the next 2 days. Pretty disappointing and you have to decide the shoppers tip amount when you place the order. The shopper should look things over better. When I did my review online they did agree to refund me, but would prefer to have had it be fresh to begin with. read more

I couldn't find the pharmacy for Lakeville but I went on line to schedule a flu shot after being told no openings in Savage! Really? so u show up for my 1015 appt only to be told the nurse didn't show up so no idea how long it would take. After waiting 45 minutes I went up to counter and told them to cancel my appt. let me remind you there were about 10 people in front of me that had not been called either. After leaving their upset I decided to call the pharmacy mgr. i told him they needed a back up plan. He told me that the pharmacy was the bu. and they had to help their rx customers first! Really? Why bother then making appt? Very upset as I u rushed to get there on time! if you can't handle the load then perhaps you should Not be doing shots!!! read more

I was here for a shop along, so I didn't do much directly with the store. One of the ladies handing out samples stopped me on my way out to ask what I had been doing and how she could get in on it. I gave her the details, though she was the chattiest old white lady I've encountered in a long time. I guess I wasn't wearing my "angry black woman" face at the time. The store has a bit of a different layout than the Hy-Vee nearest me, so it took a bit to get to where I wanted to go. They have a large eating area off to the side in the back-left of the store. Mine doesn't have this. It's the burbs, so I didn't feel surprised. Mine is a hood store and no one wants anyone hanging about there, right? FRied rice had no eggs or veg and cashew chicken no chicken and walnut shrimp all stuck together in a ball and the crab ragoons were so dry and hard I could not chew them, also the guy working was more interested in flirting with the guest at the hyabachee counter next to me! If you have 4 bays to wash cars, why are only 1 or 2 only available. Never fails. Just played the car wash game, and won. How do i present my ticket for my prize if theres no paper to dispense a ticket. That leads me to your gas station. What an inconvenience. Too many pumps are out of service often. There is no paper for a receipct. When in go in, 4 employees can not figure out how to print a receipt. Moving on to the grocery store. Not sure who laid out this store, but it is abysmal. This place has gone downhill. We went over the weekend and the produce section smelled like mold and mildew. The produce section is poorly stocked. We found several onions with mold, and the same can be said of the garlic. The pre-made food is horrendous. Avoid this location at all costs. Got all my catering, flowers, cake here for my wedding. Colleen was amazing to work with and the food was pretty good. (Chicken was awful but everything else was delicious). The floral department blew my mind. Best looking flowers I've ever seen and will always recommend them to anyone. I'm heartbroken to not have my bouquet still. :( lol. Still going downhill (see previous review). They no longer carry several of the items that brought me in. The olive oil bar now only has a few options. No Racelette on my recent visit. Still no fresh mozzarella. They only had 3 cucumbers on display. Red onions were combined with yellow in a bin and there were only 3 left (I had to ask to even find them). In the prepared food stations the quantity of items has dropped a lot since my last visit (9 months ago?). My favorite fresh squeezed juice was discontinued. Totally impressed with the Sweet Shop team at this location. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. The treats that the bakery makes are super creative and super tasty. The girl who helped us out was very courteous and friendly and totally made our night. I didn't get her name but she was great. The tiramisu and chocolate truffle dessert were heavenly, our little ones enjoyed the unicorn mini cake. Wonderful place to grab a fancy dessert for home. read more

Unfortunately this place has horrible service. I went to have balloons filled and was told by the manager that department was not open yet, so I waited 30 minutes for it to open. Then waited another 15 and no one showed up. After that an employee told me that no one was there to do it snd they were not sure if or when anyone was coming in. The manager didn't have the Decency to come talk to me, apologize or offer anything for their lack of service or obligation to their supposed services they offer. Yes, everything is expensive. More so than Wal-Mart, Target, and Cub Foods. Well, guess what? Hy-Vee can command those prices.The grocery is bright and when you first walk in. It's like a breath of fresh air. The set up is unlike anything you've seen from the likes of Wal-Mart and Cubs. It's more refreshed and the glamorous bakery/dessert display is very telling of what this grocery has to offer. Some items are overpriced, for example some of the ready-to-be-grilled BBQ skewers. Some of them are $6 a skewer. Wow! Unless you are really lazy or really high maintenance, them skewers are a bad deal. The customer service and quality of products commands those prices. Every aisle is pristine and incredibly organized. Walk around and be amazed at the variety and selection of products. Some of the meats are supplied by D'Artagnan which is of good quality. At one time I had given this store a 4 star rating. After trying the aisles on line ordering for this store I have changed my mind. I made an order thru the aisles application with a pick up time of between 2pm and 3pm the same day. I received and email at 1:57pm telling me that they were still trying to fill orders from the previous day. I was also informed that I should only attempt to contact the store if I wanted to cancel my order, because I would only delay the order more. I grew up with HyVee, so it is a welcome sight to have HyVee in Minnesota! This store has it all! A restaurant (Market Grille) - which from a distance I could see large screened TVs. It looked like a good place to send the sports fan in your life to enjoy a cold one while you enjoy shopping on your own. There are lots of fresh fruits and veggies when you enter the store and lots of food options for on the go: Mexican, salads, pizza, charcuterie, bagels, fresh squeezed juice, and sushi. Lots of fresh baked breads and other amazing looking chocolates, tarts, donuts, and baked goodies. The variety is just amazing - from health items to organic items, from dishes, dry goods and candies by weight, to a huge variety in ethnic items too and of course all the general food items one expects in a grocery store. We were looking for coconut milk and I saw 4 different brands in 3 different places in the store (2 different ethic sections and in the baking aisle). They have a lot of ready-made packs too from meat/seafood to fruit bowls made out of half watermelons. Not to be outdone by meeting all your pharmacy, Starbuck's fix, and floral needs. They even have some fun bath products and a small shop for clothing (F&F). We saw ping pong balls in multiple aisles, apparently also meeting all your party needs too! read more

I mean the WOW factor for a self proclaimed foodie like myself, just knocks you off your feet! I went on a weekend, it was crazy busy. The Lakeville store never has the daily deals on their shelf nor do they have their weekend deals on their shelf. It shouldn't take two to three trips to the store to buy the deals. Example, first day of the butter sugar and flour special. Shelves are empty by 3:00 in the afternoon. I was not alone there are many others in the store with the same frustration. read more

I dropped in today did 200$ worth of shoppin, only to get to checkout and find out Hyvee had turned into Walmart. I understand the difficulty with finding employees, but lane after lane of new self checkouts means they no longer care about customer service. Even Aldi has a person providing friendly checkout service. I just can't shop at places like this who cut jobs and make me work without the healthcare and employee discount. The customer service at the Lakeville location is incredible. Ryan, the assistant director of operations went out of his way to take care of an issue I had in the floral department. I have been here many many times. Have rated the Grill a five star for all my visits. I have ranted to all my friends how much I enjoy the restaurant. He is my big however, stopped in to grab a few items. I had about six items and there was only one Lane open. I waited and waited. I lost count of the available employees standing around at six. I placed my cart down and walked out. I called a few minutes later to express that i was waiting. The gal screamed who are you. I said what does that matter. She said who are you. Love being able to come and know I'll be able to find some of the more obscure items on my list, the food selection is vast, the quality is high, so expect the prices to be slightly higher as well. I definitely don't buy all of my groceries from here, but they also have adorable clothes that I have definitely shopped for my kids and myself from. They have little food areas to choose different types of cuisine from, and today my kids and I got a 3 meat BBQ plate, and holy moly! For a total of 16$ we fed all three of us with some fairly good BBQ and had enough for a full meal of leftovers which is awesome when it comes to BBQ.
