They just got rid of their postage meter and postage service. I work from home and this used to be extremely convenient as it is close by. I then sometimes picked up some groceries. Their buy one get one free sale is going on now. It seems bait and switch. Example 2 corn dogs are $6.58 a package. You get one free, but that is 4 corn dogs for $6.58. Not the greatest deal. They just jack up the original prices. I may swing by occasionally as it is close to my home, but getting rid of the postage meter and service is sure an inconvenience. read more

Was store hopping looking for a berry pie before Thanksgiving and was having no luck, instead ended up with a receipt error during checkout at the Apple valley location. So to fix it I decided to come to Burnsville location and met Shane the store manager. He was so welcoming and helpful, he asked what I was looking for, and I said I would be lucky if I find a slice of any kind of a berry pie. He had Michelle go grab a whole blueberry pie and gave it to us for free after refunding us for the receipt error. I couldn't be more thankful right before thanksgiving! Thank you Shane and Michelle, you both made this store my favorite! read more

Don't expect much from the bakery. Ordered a cake that was picked from the selection on line. Spoke to 3 people before I had someone that was able to take a cake order. Writing was in the wrong color. Flowers did not represent selected cake, and colors and flowers not the same. Pretty much not the cake I requested but I did pay for it. Brought it to the attention of the store manager and he did not see a problem with it. Gave me $5 off a $50 cake that wasn't what I ordered. Funny thing, it was the second time this happened. Same thing last year, no money off, messed up cake. Not doing this again! There are many places to purchase expensive cakes. read more

Recently was at the store to pickup meat for Christmas I ordered the Dry Aged Prime Rib over the phone and picked it up Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I live in Cedar Rapids Iowa now but lived in Burnsville for 8 years. Just cooked the Prime Rib last night for a Christmas dinner with family. Family was used to this since I had it the 8 years I lived in Burnsville The Prime Rib was fantastic the flavor was so succulent and marbling was amazing. Upscale grocery stores throughout the Twin Cities. It has a great selection and variety of products. They carry just about anything you need or want. In the past, my experience has been wonderful and if they don't have it, they have ordered it in. If unable to get it, the grocer has helped me pick a comparable product. Never have I ever experienced going grocery shopping and being told that I cannot take a cart out with all of my groceries in them. (2 bags loaded with several sports drinks and also a gallon of milk) It was explained to me by a young lady with attitude "OK if you do though, you have to bring it back"! I said, OK not a problem. I finished paying for my items. I put them back into my cart, but I forgot my milk and ran back to get it pushing my cart off to the side of the checkout terminals next to rows of other carts. I returned within two minutes only to find that she had removed my bags and put them on the counter next to her explaining that she did it so that no one would steal my groceries. WHAT? Is this a common occurrence at this grocery store? I knew she was making a point, and was forcing me to carry my bags. I spoke with the manager who I happened to run into as I was leaving. (No I didn't intend to track one down) and I asked if this was common practice? She said yes, because they don't have cart corrals. I told her that I was made aware that I would just need to bring it back in and that I agreed to do so, yet the young lady standing guard at the self checkout desk deliberately removed my bags from my cart, even after we discussed protocol. I expressed frustration and mentioned my recent hand surgeries and why this was difficult. The managers response was less than impressive of her roll and simply suggested that next time I order my groceries ahead of time for pickup or delivery. REALLY? The level of disrespect by handling my items without my knowledge, and removing the items AFTER a discussion it outright despicable, rude and grossly unprofessional of both clerk and manager. Shame on both of you and shame on this corporation for allowing your patrons to be treated this way. Shame on this company for being so greedy focusing on profits instead of providing practical necessities for your patrons. read more

As a long time customer I was very disappointed recently. We mostly pickup groceries or have them delivered due to health concerns but I have been in this store twice this week. They do a nice job of spraying and wiping carts. But the mask policy is poorly enforced. A vendor was stocking magazines with her mask below her nose. And one of the cashiers didn't have the bottom of her mask tied and it was flapping all over. I expect better from Byerly's. read more

I am in a customer at this Byerly for about 10 years, granted I only visit about once a month and maybe spend $10-$20. I was in the store yesterday using a self check out and the Byerly employee was literally standing 2 feet from me watching my every move, I really resented this intrusion, although I can understand, there is a instance of theft with these machines I do not steal, and I was resentful of the fact in the cafeteria line. I am going to have to think twice about going back into this store. It was a terrible experience to be honest and I am sorry to see this happened in such a fine place. I know my very minuscule spending at the store, will not rock any boats, but I felt compelled to mention this. read more

Standard for the brand. You'll find what you need. Customer service is bottom tier. I acknowledged 10 floor associates, only one responded to me, the others ignored or gave me a blank stare. The location has a wide variety of essential oil section. Flowers always seem to be fresh and vibrant. If you're looking to get in and out, this location will suffice. Overall experience isn't pleasant, It's last resort on my list. read more

I am a fan here. Shopped in Bloomington and Burnsville. Fantastic service reminds me of a hometown grocery stores of excellence. The Haagen-Dazs® is an example that taught me bring it to the management attention and they will immediately get the stock in if out of a flavor. Just had a sample giver and deli manager argue with me about a Bavarian Champington being a brie and that I didn't know what I was talking about when I said it was delicious but not a brie. She continues by telling me that "we even make brie here". Well, my question is how long have they been importing soil from the Brie region of France that help produce the grass for the cows making the specific milk used for true brie. Upset me so bad I forgot to purchase the California Champagne that they're probably famous for. Super condescending experience from ignorant people that fail to realize that they might not know everything and might be talking to someone with a little more experience in the topic. Edit/addition: I know that anyone can make a cheese anywhere the same way as they do in France for the original brie. But there are only two places in France, Meaux and Melun, who's got the certification from the Appellation d'Origine Controllée (AOC) to sell it as true brie. read more

We've been going here every year for as long as I can remember when we come up for our annual visit to see family. We don't get much here as it is on the pricey side, but what we do get is high quality. We usually pick up some sushi and tuna steaks and have always been impressed by the staff and how helpful and courteous they are. We also stop by their liquor store on our way out, and even though it's not very big their selection is vast. There usually seems to be some kind of tasting going on as well which is always welcomed. Staff are surprisingly knowledgable and are quick to make suggestions based on your taste. All in all this is a great grocery store. It's probably not the most feasible thing to get all of your groceries here necessarily. But if you're picking up a handful of items, you won't be let down by the quality. read more

We've been customers of Lunds and Byerlys for years. We love the selection and great quality of items they offer. Their cheese selection is fantastic and their made in-house desserts are to die for! Their fruits and vegetable and meat are wonderful too; a little on the pricier side but definitely a great store to purchase for holidays and special occasions. Why the 3 stars then? Well, their service has really gone down hill. I am not the only one that seems to think so. My mother-in-law and a few neighbors have also expressed their frustration with similar experiences. Lunds has always been known for their excellent service, specially at their meat counter. We always call ahead to reserve a special cut of meat so that we can avoid lines or ensure that they don't run out of what we want. It makes for a seamless and stress-free experience. Not so much anymore. This is the second time (counting my family member finding herself in the same situation a few weeks ago) that we called 2-3 days ahead, put in our order for a special cut of beef and have the order not be found when we show to try to pick it up. This has happened twice within the past 2 months. Sure enough the store was busy and meat counter packed, as it was 2 days before Christmas. And sure enough, we had to wait shoulder to shoulder in line with a number then wait some more while they searched in the back for our non existent order and then sure enough wait even more while they gave us a sheepish "sorry, we'll just have to cut some up for you". The whole point was to not have to wait nor risk them being sold out the product that we called ahead about. Living in the midst of a pandemic has made us all weary. The last thing I want to do is stand shoulder to shoulder with other people and hope that they haven't run out of something or we get stuck with a less than cut of the prime beef wanted for the holiday. If we call ahead, we expect the courtesy to have our package ready...Pandemic or not. read more

Very nice atmosphere, and high quality food. My family has been going here for a while. However, I do have one problem, and it's with the seafood section. There is a label on the glass protecting the various meats that states it is "Responsibly Sourced." Being a staunch believer in environmental protection, I made use of the Seafood Watch app by Monterey Bay Aquarium anyway. I checked the snow crab legs, warm water lobster, and sea scallops before continuing shopping. When I asked the cashier for details on the lobster, they revealed it was the Caribbean Spiny species. This is usually just fine, but they also revealed that it was coming out of HONDURAS. The Seafood Watch app specifically states to avoid purchasing this species of lobster from Honduras, as it is very likely it is being overfished in that area. I'm now on high alert for unsustainably sourced seafood from this location. read more

I love Byerlys! I have had several custom fruit baskets for gifts made here and they always do a beautiful job! I love that they have a full grocery store with specialty items but also many gifts and a bakery. I ordered cupcakes for both of my daughters weddings here and they were delicious and affordable! It's so nice to pick up lunch when you're on the run and eat it there. read more

Employees are always kind - whether it be the deli workers, butchers or cashiers. They always seem to have a smile and some friendly chitchat for you. Produce is stocked and fresh, love how they switch up some of the offerings behind the meat counter from time to time and the deli salads are great! read more

This store has a limited selection of quality products and a lot of overpriced junk. The Minnesota Nice staff can be a pain and are stupid beyond words. I saw a sale sign at the deli and bought something, but the price on the item was the full price, some a##hole at the deli said it would adjust at checkout, but it did not. I went from one person to another to get it fixed and I finally got my money back. I will never go again. I miss Lunds as it was 50 years ago, but guess I will be going to Chicago on a regular basis to shop since one cannot even get groceries in this hick little town read more

The food and service in the grocery area is OK. However, the liquor dept. is horrible. From smug clerks who look down their noses, to the ludicrous and insane "We card all customers," I am boycotting this liquor store until they change their policy. The "we card everyone" would seem fair to the person w/ marginal intelligence. You know, the same ilk that came up w/ the "zero tolerance" rules in grade schools that expels a student for making a gun shape out of a Pop Tart. We can all agree that each of us is different. So, carding everyone is by definition unfair since it presumes we are all the same. I'm 64 years old and I look it. I saw a woman in her 80's have to fumble through her wallet getting out her ID. She obviously had arthritic fingers. But, the jerk clerk would not bend this idiotic rule. If you are in your 40's/50's and get asked for ID, WALK OUT. The only way to change this is to hit Byerly's in their wallet. And, we should all do the same to any liquor store or tavern that has this demeaning and unfair rule. read more
