First time getting my nails done in Santa Cruz. -easy parking -Tracy's Nails is huge! -$20 for a pedi, normal pricing. -Lots of colors to choose from. -accepts credit and can tip on card. -It felt like the lady I got gave me an extra long foot massage compared to the other nail salons I've been which was a plus. -I usually like to chill the massage chair to wait for my toes to dry but instead they put my flip flops on immediately and told me to wait in the drying area. Which was fine, but considering how it wasn't busy at all and there were only 2 of us at that time, it would have been nice to just stay in the massage chairs -first time i've received a stamp card at a nail salon!!! what's next they serving boba in the back? I used to enjoy coming here. I've been going elsewhere and thought I'd bring my daughter for a mani/pedi pampering. I made appointments. We arrived, but we were moved around like cattle, were given pedicure chairs and left to marinade our feet for almost 30 minutes....no one ever came to tell us anyone would be coming soon or check on us since they were busy.....or maybe even do the mani/pedi! We got up and walked out. I made mention why we were leaving and then they wanted to help, but I felt like we were cattle and I figure the dollar vote will make a bigger impact than staying at that point. I know it must still be a great place judging from how busy they were, but I don't plan on returning any time soon. I have been going to Tracy's Nails exclusively for over a year. I have been going for a year mainly because they are efficient and keep appointments. However they treat you like you are invisible, rush you through color choices, and a lot of time they don't have or can't find the color. They don't answer your questions or engage when you make comments. I get the language barrier, but to just ignore you? It's a basic concept, be friendly and treat the customer LIKE a customer, and maybe the tip will reflect that effort???!! I've been getting my nails done here forever. Amy (with the beautiful, thick braid) has done my nails the past 3 times, and I'm SOLD. She does a gel on my natural nails that is so thin and natural. And it' doesn't chip or peel or lift at al, even after weeksl. I've never had that, ever. And her leg/neck massage? Out of this world. This is my first time going back after COVID and the place has really gone downhill. I would NOT recommend going there for a regular or gel manicure. My nails look gloppy, uneven and I have a ton of nail polish in the underside/sides of my nails that's taking forever to get off. They're super rough with your hands and nails too, like it actually hurts to get a manicure done. They also don't have great customer service. I won't be back, ever. read more

Tracy really runs this place! I feel bad for her when her receptionists or her daughter can't handle all the walk ins and crowds that happen at the entrance. She's very good at her job including nails. I had her but it was busy she seemed a bit overwhelmed and distracted so my nails took a lot longer but it wasn't her fault. For the first time I was having trouble with their color options on their fake nails selection because the color on my nail didn't match the one I selected. Her daughter tried to tell me it was because the fake nail was so old that the sun changed the color over time. That may have been true but then it's not accurate so it shouldn't be out their or you give people the wrong impression of the color if it doesn't match. For design, I got Nguyen and she was great! She did a great design and she was genuinely nice to me making conversation. I really liked her and will ask for her again! She's one of the few people working here who actually had her own nails done with a design too. read more

Well, to start, i think the photos speak for themselves. I was so so unhappy with these nails and definitely did not think they were worth the 60$ I payed for them. They were not the correct shape, length, or anything really. my cuticles weren't touched throughout the entire manicure aswell, no oils were added in at any point to moisturize. Some of the nails were crooked and each was shaped a tiny bit differently. The only change i had made from the photo was requesting a "j" on one finger. that was it. Initially I had a cursive lowercase J in mind, however when the nail artist didn't know how to do that she called over the owner, Tracy. Tracy tried about 15 different times while answering phone calls and making more appointments, she continued to mess it up each time having to wipe it off and redo it. I told them never mind it's fine i don't need it but they insisted on adding it, eventually she just drew this one on in the photo below and I gave up, I knew it wasn't gonna get any better and accepted it and left. I got to my car and was so unhappy and upset with them that I drove to another salon and immediately had them redone. When i got there they couldn't believe the work that tracy's had done and thought my manicure was at least a week old. This is also the third time i've had this happen at tracy's and i've concluded that i wont be back. all in all 0/10. read more

Tracy's Nails is now open! It is kept very clean and one's temperature is taken before entering. Everyone wears masks and they've implemented acrylic guards between you and the manicurists. Hand sanitizers everywhere, they thoroughly disinfect the massage chairs and keep everything clean and disinfected, while keeping distancing of about ten feet between customers! One of my treats to myself regularly- have truly missed Tracy, Van, and all the employees there since this darn trump virus and SIP!!! The quality was alright. I didn't like the vibe at all. The employee who provided the service expected a tip and gave me attitude when I gave her $5. She then cut me off to speak in her language about me to her other coworkers and they all looked at me. My anxiety made me feel guilted into giving her more even though I barely had enough for the service and wanted to feel good. I left feeling worse with my mental health. If you have to live off your tips, go work somewhere else. I miss when tipping was due to quality; an extra gift for someone who shows kindness and amazing work. I am officially converted! Some of my friends recommended it and I had to try them out. I came in a little under an hour of closing on a Friday night and they happily had me. I had really bad acrylics before and they painlessly took them off, despite how thin and brittle my nails were. They took care of my nails really well, making sure to file and clean up all areas around and under the nail. They made sure that I was getting what I wanted, in addition to giving me color, shape, and length suggestions. Tracy did my little snowflake design and I love it. 10/10 experience. I cannot say enough good things about this place. It has quickly become my favorite nail place and honestly the only place I will go to in the county! Everyone who works at Tracy's is kind and professional. I was so exhausted this week and needed to get my nails done for a wedding and their team was so efficient and kind and helpful. Monica, Amy and Kim were especially wonderful. They were so patient and kind and just pampered me, I actually felt emotional when Amy gave me a neck shoulder arm massage, I was so tired and I knew it was the end of her day and she must be tired but she just gave me a really great massage anyway. Monica had to work in a really cramped space and did really well and Kims pedicure was perfection. She even managed to help me not feel ticklish by doing the scrubbing under the water. Feeling very grateful, thank you so much! I also love how much Charity work Tracy does and love that she is funding an orphanage among many other things through her business. I brought my daughter here at 4:25PM for a simple manicure/pedicure it is now 6:18 and she is still being serviced. I saw at least 4 people be taken prior to her and I mentioned something to a few of the workers and was told they had appointments, which was true because I was standing their when they all mentioned they were 15-45 minutes early for their appointments. Now approaching almost 2 hours later at least 9 (I literally counted 9, who knows how many people I didn't count) people who came after us left already. I have been to this salon many times and NEVER had a good manicure or pedicure. I have finally reached the end of my rope. The water they put you hands in was cold, I still had many cuticles that needed to be trimmed and with a regular manicure they don't even offer to carry your purse to the drying station therefore my nails smudged and they were bent out of shape to fix it. Then once they did they didn't even put a top coat to make it look nice. This place is not worth your money, really!! Find another spot! read more

Terrible service, didn't do any of the things I asked during my pedicure. I asked for a pedicure and a full set, once I was finished with my pedicure (which was garbage) I was told I still needed to wait as they were taking in walk in clients. I was told by the man at the front that I needed to wait unfortunately I did not have the time to do so. My mom took my child to the car to change her and had the payment card I told the guy I would walk to her car (right outside) and was told "go ahead I'll be watching you". Then I was shadowed by the women who did our pedicures for a tip even though they didn't acknowledge any of the requests we made during the pedicure. When I first came in I was shocked by the sheer size of this place. I was pointed to a station and I was kind of irritated it was still dirty but they did get me in with no reservation right after work on a busy Monday. They just hadn't had time to clean it. The size of this place - it's understandable!! I went to Yoki and she was so kind, quick and efficient and still did a great job on my Pedicure and also with the hot stone massage that truly relaxed me so much. The price is definitely right. $25 for pedi with hot stone & scrub. $20 for regular. I will for sure be back for a manicure next time. So glad I discovered this amazing establishment right by my new office. Wonder how they manage all these nail techs at once it's like nowhere I've ever been before!
