After reading the reviews, I brought in two brand new dresses purchased from Saks, Katie Mae and Reiss with tags still on. Both over $200. Also, both dresses were brought in more than a month before the wedding on Sept. 27th. My pick up date was sept. 20th. Customer service was good. The alteration to shorten the Katie May dress was good. But they could not make the straps at the top work. It's a thick cross cross front strap but at the end of the day they could not make it work. I even gave them a second opportunity to work on it before saying no. It was either too tight at the neck or too loose in the front. They just did not know how to make this specific alteration. The back cross cross was made half way up the straps in an effort to "match" the front. The Reiss one should dress looked like they took a sewing machine and just sewed down half way down the side of the dress. So it looks like the dress has hips midway down my thighs. I wished they would have just said they couldn't do it. I paid $236 for both dresses.... read more

This place does the most professional alterations I've ever had done in my 75 years on this earth. I lived in the Bay Area most of my life, and never thought it would be small town, Tracy, where I would find the very best place for alterations. I have a very loved pair of jeans that were tattered beyond belief, and thought I would take a chance and see what they could do. Picked them up today and I'm so extremely pleased and happy. Brought a custom made, extensively beaded, delicate yet heavy dress in for alterations and was recommended to ask for Moe. He was on vacation. I came back the following week when Moe was back from vacation and he took in my details, followed up with me on specifications and fittings almost every two weeks at first, then every week. My dress was not only ready 3 weeks earlier than quoted, but done exceptionally well. I rented a tux & shoes for my brothers prom, read a lot of reviews and decided to give them a shot. At first the service seemed good! We paid in full and picked out a tux, picked up our tux no problem. There was a mix up in the tux order and the owner seemed so attentive and was keeping in contact about our order! The shoes rented from this place were GARBAGE. Literally the cheapest shoes ever!! My brother wore them for 30 minutes and the soles of the shoes completely fell apart right before his prom!!! We had to rush over and bring him basketball shoes because it's all we had on short notice. I understand this business probably gets shipped the shoes and tux, but that was ridiculous. As a business owner you should be checking for quality!!! Especially for a special occasion like prom! And we paid $230+ to rent it all! I asked for a refund for the shoes only! The lady at the shop said she was not the owner and wrote down my name and number! Never got my refund or even a call back!! My brother is autistic and this prom night was supposed to be a very special night and it was sabotaged! If you can't offer quality items that can last AN EVENING you shouldn't be offering them at all!! I'm really happy with the alternations I had done here for my Indian dress. I was going to a party this Easter and I realized my dress no longer fit (I had used it before for a different party two years ago but I had since lost a lot of weight since then). I tried it on and he said he could tighten the sides and hem it as it was way too long. My mom took her dress in to get hemmed for my sister's wedding. She took it in Feb. 26 and they wanted her to pick it up this week, a month later. She picked it up yesterday and just tried it on. THEY DID NOT HEM THE DRESS. My mom is 5ft tall and the overlay is still overflowing like eight inches out from her feet. $163 and it wasn't hemmed. Took two sweatshirts in just to get some patches sewn on. When I went and picked up the sweatshirts which took over a week one of the sweatshirts the patch was crooked and blow the middle of the sweatshirt which is not what I explained the other sweatshirt had the patches all mixed up in the wrong places. After waiting another week I finally got my sweatshirts which they did an okay job. For the price they charged me you think it was a bridal alteration these were simple sweatshirts I couldn't imagine trusting them with a garment that cost thousands. This man promised he knew how to fix leather glove finger lengths. He lied. My child has done better alterations than this. He said it was done by machine. Lie. Clearly done by hand. Some over lap stiching as well. The symmetrical finger length is different as well. How do you make one pinky finger hal the length than the other and think that is ok? All fingers stiching is messy and flat squared off. A couple are round. Some stiched from inside, some stiched from outside glove. Finally, he tried to give me the wrong change thinking I wouldn't count it. Guess what, when its $10 even missing, I will notice. When confronted, he non chalauntly slides the $10 across the counter. Rude, unprofessional, terrible quality and did not want me to use my debit. I had to go get cash per his request. Do yourself a favor, send your stuff to a 6 year old, they will do a better job. read more

I was getting married and my dressmaker, who was in the South Bay needed a couple of more measurements. All I needed was someone to measure. The measurements were straightforward (measure from x to y). I stopped by and asked if they had time to measure me. They did. When my dress was done, the arms were too short because they had measured me incorrectly. Happily my dressmaker had extra lace and no one ever knew - but these guys couldn't measure a basic human arm. This is their job. Do not use these folks. read more

My daughter and I found a beautiful dress at My Best Friend's Closet which fit her almost perfectly but for it being just slightly too small on the back waist. It was only short by an inch but because there was beading involved... I did not want to mess with it myself. I looked on yelp for recommendations for alterations and found Tracy Bridal & Alterations with decent reviews. We brought her dress there and met with Moe (sp?) who I think is the owner. My daughter put on her dress and he confidently told me that they would be able to take out the seam. He said if they could not take out the seam he would add a small piece of fabric. I asked what we would see on the back and he said they would find something that would not show and it would look nice. He also told me that the dress would be ready for pick up by 3/30 and I asked if it was okay to call and check on the status in advance. He said there was no need because I would get a call when it was ready. I had not heard anything by Easter so I called on 4/2 and Moe told me it had been ready for a week already. I sent my husband to pick it up and that night when I got home from work, I was horrified by what I saw. A very disheveled looking piece of approx 2 inches of mismatched fabric had been sewn on my daughter's dress. Not only was it mismatched but it had a tear in the mesh, the seam was crooked and the fabric was only added on one side of the zipper so it left the dress lopsided when my daughter put it on. It was an extremely shoddy piece of work. I called Moe and spoke to him about the poor alteration and he said to bring it in and he would fix it. I asked what happened and he said when they opened up the seam they realized there was not enough fabric to work with. I told him that is when he should have called me to discuss our alternative options. I had asked when we brought the dress in if we might be able to fix it with a few hooks and some satin ribbon like a corset (I saw that on one of the Yelp pics as a solution to a similar problem) and he said that would not be necessary. I was honest with him about my dissatisfaction and lack of confidence that he would be able to fix it. I scheduled an appointment with him but ended up cancelling after my daughter and I came up with a new plan. We ended up buying a lovely brooch to cover the mess that Tracy Bridal & Alterations left behind and we decided that was a better bet than risking further damage to the dress. To be fair, Mom e may have been able to fix it and I did not give him a chance, but I honestly did not have enough faith in someone who would give me this dress back in the condition that it was thinking it was a job well done. I cannot figure out how to add pictures to this review. So I am putting a collection in the yelp photos. Please note that I try to be fair in my reviews. I gave the shop a 2 star review only because Moe DID call me back and was willing to try and fix the problem... I just could not trust them with my daughter's dress again with so little time left to resolve the problem. read more

The owner of this place "Moe" is useless and incompetent and their Tuxedo and Suit pricing and Rental terms are completely out of line. They do not even have anything in stock they sub everything out so it is not even in their own inventory. They try to charge extra money and extra handling for going through another company and you do never get the Brand and Style and Color of what you actually pick out of the brochure or what they tell you that you will get. If you try to pick up a little early or return even a little late the owner is so cheap that he comes up with excuses why he needs to keep the 50% deposit that you also have to pay upfront before you can even pick up the suit or Tuxedo... It is no wonder that they cannot keep any staff for longer than one month and nobody knows what's going on in the store or understands pricing or fitting. This is just another local Tracy business that should be shut down or replaced and what forces all of us Tracy residents to go to Manteca or Pleasanton to spend our money. read more

They take in more work then they can handle and some guy (owner?)won't let the other employees use a sewing machine unless he's there. I took in a blouse (a week ahead from when I needed it) to simply be taken in from the sides and I had to go in 3 times before it was done. They are way too expensive, I ended up paying more for the alterations than I did for the blouse.
