It was a Sunday and not at all busy. There were probably more employees than customers. We went thru their small men's section and their tiny men's shoe department. And not one greeted us or asked if we needed assistance. The selection was very limited and there was no one around to ask if anything was in stock. My son needed to grab a button up dress shirt, a belt, and a pair dress shoes. He didn't have time to look elsewhere, so ended up adding to their production that day. We went in to buy some items before they sell out. I found a nice pair of PJ's and alot more items. As the associate was scanning she tells me the pajamas I choose had the wrong tag. And ill have to pay the right price. I said but the tag is for $23.70. She called the manager over. And she stated sorry you'll have to pay the $40+ dollars. They were so rude about it. I needed to return an online purchase. I was outside of the main store waiting for them to open. It was 10:15 and there were several of us now waiting for them to unlock their doors. Their hours are 10am. I thought of calling the Women's department since I could see cashiers at the register in that department. We tried to get their attention, but they refused to look up (lol). Lacey is phenomenal!!! Not only was she kind, considerate, energetic and fun, she truly was sincere in her approach to helping me have the best experience in your store. During my visit there on Dec. 3, one of the items that I ordered came to the store completely filthy. After Lacey apologized profusely, she tried to re-order the item and discovered that Macy's was out of the item in all of your stores. She then returned the item to my account and took it a step further by giving me an additional credit to be used in the store, because the item that I initially ordered arrived so dirty. None the less, the best place to shop in Tracy for clothing, jewelry, and makeup if you don't want to do a separate run to Ulta. My latest visit here was to pick up a few things for an upcoming wedding. I got a red lipstick from The MAC counter and needed a necklace to paid with my dress. The ladies at the jewelry counter were very kind and helpful. When I had a hard time deciding between two necklaces, they offered to put the other on hold for me so I could try one on with the dress and exchange for the other if I chose. Ultimately I landed with a classic tennis necklace at a very reasonable price. They packaged it nicely in a jewelry box for me and I was on my way! 4 stars for my positive experiences with the makeup and jewelry department. One taken away because the woman's clothing and lingerie departments were a bust. The underwear racks were messy, unorganized and made it impossible to even find your size. The inventory was scarce and I felt overwhelmed digging through piles of unfolded underwear... I ultimately decided to just place an order on VS online. This is one of the smallest Macy's. Fewer items are available than the other Macy's in the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento. The store looks very new. Looks very organized. However, they have many empty shelves and many returned items without prices! This Macy's store has many sections for clearance items or returned by mail orders. They put signs on the shelves and tables that said those items were 50% off the original price. But more than half of the things have no price on them. I'm not sure how they expected customers would purchase them by not knowing the costs. Lots of the items can't even be recognized by the price scanner in the store! I can't find most of the name brands usually carried at the other Macy's stores in this store. I'm not sure how much longer Macy's will be going to keep this store open! But all I know is I don't think I want to shop there anymore! read more

Today I went to Macys to Exchange some Shoes I purchased online, I was hoping to get a gift card or an exchange unfortunately since at the time I was accidentally logged out of my account. The lady was super rude, and was basically making me feel like since I didn't have a receipt I could not get a gift card or anything. She grabbed my shoes and was like they will send you a check in the mail. How the hell are they going to send me a check if you don't have any of my information?? I told her no you're going to have to wait for me to long on to my account. I ended up logging on to my account and providing the order number but still couldn't get a gift card because I paid with pay pal. Since when has it become so difficult to exchange something. Macys customer service and gift exchange use to be way better. She made me feel like I did something wrong , she made me feel like I the stole those damn cheap boots! of course I wanted to complain to the manager but he took forever to get down there and I had leave. So I went in to do an exchange because I received a fragrance as a gift that did not work for me. The fragrance was in box you could tell it was brand new and unused. When I told the woman I did not have my receipt only a gift box because it was a gift, she said "well the system is going to refuse your return and send it to you In the mail". I'm like what do you mean, she said "it's asking for your drivers license and based on your history it may refuse your return." I've worked retail in the past and understand it's standard for the system to ask for ID, but how dare you assume the system will reject me by just looking at me?? I asked me manager why she thought that and she looks at me haughtily and says oh well she rings a lot off ppl up so she knows. I understand that seeing POC spend/make money can shock and upset some of y'all but that was extremely biased and uncalled for. Y'all are hideous to say the least. Tried calling the store and none of any of the department extensions work. Frustrating their system is not updated, and cannot speak to a live salesperson. I could rate the whole West Valley Mall just based on the Macy's located within it... and this Macy's is average. Lots of more upscale brands omitted but if you are not particular this place is A-Ok. If you compare this to the San Francisco version of Macys you would be very shocked and disappointed. All the good stuff can't be found here. The upscale brands have been omitted. I remember vividly picking up some slim fit Levis and was disappointed by the look and feel of them. Very thin and flimsy. There were some rigid Levis - but all the items here felt like they were specifically produced for outlet shopping. Was looking for a burr coffee grinder and noticed an unusual sighting: a stainless steel pressure cooker. For whatever reason they are hard to come by. Sure enough I could find non in stock under the display. Floors and overall appearance of the place looked good. Upkeep was fine. Employee help was great. read more

Contrary to other reviews I really enjoyed the smaller and compact layout of this store! You get everything all in one place. Sure the space is dramatically smaller but the crowds are as well! First of all, this store looks like a Ross store- everything is a mess and only half the registers are open on a busy weekend, I waited in 2 very long, slow lines. Second of all, the employees are not trained in company policy. They refused to take a shirt back because the tag was no longer on it. I had the tag and the receipt (i took off the tag off before trying it on). I called their customer service number who told me that this cashier was wrong. It's not worth my time/gas/aggrivation to go back to the mall. I used to think Macy's has superior customer service. Those days are over. read more

Yesterday, I was again at this Macy's with (yes) my girlfriend. She has family in Tracy and Manteca. We were heading to Manteca for yet another party - this time a graduation party for another one of her nieces. Thus, this was a pit stop along the way to Manteca. Although the selections of merchandise are limited at this store, I still found a great deal on a designer's purse - a beautiful Michael Kors' tan leather purse for 50% off of the regular price of $228.00. Ooh, the feel of supple leather in my hands and I could not walk away without buying it. The purse, of course, had my name written all over it...lol. The total price including tax was $123.41. I picked up another deal in purses, wallets and accessories. Giani Bernini's Solutions Photo Flip Wallet in Cognac (color of wallet), regularly priced at $38.00, was going for $22.80. Yep, I snatched that wallet up, too. As usual, the sales associates were friendly, courteous and extremely patient with my girlfriend and me. Terrible experience at this Macys today 4/6/22 at 11:03am with sales associate 71115670. I was there to return polo shirts, and the first thing the customer service woman told me was, "you know you can't park there, that is for emergency services". There was a person in front of me that she was helping, so this woman was stalking me from outside. First of all, I was not parked there because my husband was driving to drop me off, so I just ignored her. She then continued to have attitude and told me that the shirts were not on my Macys card and said nothing else to me the entire time. I then had to log on to my account as I was ignored the entire time. Macys, please train your staff and please hire people that have empathy and that can relate to other human beings. I had to come here as a final resort for workout clothes. The whole store is a disaster. Floors are dirty and clothes are literally strewn everywhere. One cashier working to ring people out for the entire store (not her fault, I understand) and I didn't see a single employee on the floor to ask questions to. So, I had quite the experience today at Macy's , lol! I had ordered some boots online ( wrong size) so I decided to try my luck and try and return them at Macy's here in Tracy. Unfortunately they did not have my size, I was able to get the assistance of Joseph the manager I'm not sure if she was but he was a manager at Macy's he found a pair in my size the one pair left in Fresno so long story short I had said I go home and call them because we couldn't get through got through went back to Macy's next day and had a bunch of red tape but Joseph was more than helpful with the best attitude and customer service you can imagine. So are we waiting to get a hold of the store that had my boots on hold I had to use the restroom ran to the restroom dropped my Macy's refund exchange card in between the toilet paper dispenser and the wall in the bathroom what are the odds only this could happen to me. There is no way I was able to retrieve it so reluctantly I went to Joseph explaining the situation with red face and embarrassment and he was more than happy he went in the bathroom tried to retrieve the card but to no avail we could not get it he can go ahead and issued me another card and this customer service was so above and beyond I have now dedicated customer at Tracy Macy's and I just can't even say enough positive feedback of the customer service I received not only from Joseph but from an other Macy employees.. it has been a process to return an excuse me exchange these boots but I think we're close and I just want to say thank you Joseph for all the work that you did and your positive attitude and sense of humor. read more

Macy's used to be a favorite shopping however the recent remodel at the Tracy store has one location for purchases and one for returns. So plan on standing in line for a long time. I personally have had several negative customer service interactions that I cut up my Macys card. read more

The MAC make up girls are very rude and unhelpful here . They make you feel like you are interrupting their day buy asking for help . When I got to the makeup counter one of the girls actually said " what" instead of " can I help you?" like a normal person working would say to a customer. I couldn't help myself but to laugh a little bit and ask her for help anyway considering she was the only one working ! I just got what I needed and left. I was really happy that a Macy's had opened up in Tracy and I wouldn't have to drive out of town anymore. But I think from now on ill just make the trip to be treated better . We were excited to hear that there was going to be a Macy's opening. They gave out $10 gift cards on a random Wednesday morning and there are a few weekends where they are doing some face painting for the kids, but as others reviewers lamented, it is TINY! I kept thinking there was another floor for the men's department, but it was just a tiny section of the store. Maybe they'll be able to expand to where the old Old Navy was (but it looks like a Gap might be going there)? There was a young woman who greeted us after we wandered around for awhile, but when we asked her where the price scanner was, she had a deer in the headlights look and couldn't tell us. Eventually, we were able to locate one, and she did say she could check at the register for us. It was mostly clean, but it was so small, there selections are definitely limited. When I give this the "as good as it gets" five star review, keep in mind, I really mean "as good as it gets for Tracy". The selection is small, but good. The staff seem friendly, although I have encountered several "new store"/"new employee" glitches, including a 15 minute wait while an employee had to seek help from a rather non-responsive higher power to get my savings pass to work. Im sure these things will work themselves out. I am very pleased to have a Macy's locally. Yes, it is small (one floor), which means the departments are considerably smaller than its sister store in Pleasanton, but its something. I am optimistic that this marks a turning point for the mall and that it will be able to attract other quality retailers. read more

Love the store and their customer service. Only draw back is they don't have more variety like the Pleasanton store. The petite section is very small. They have very good return policy. People like me who takes a long time to figure out if I need or not it is very helpful. Their return label system is real good. That way you don't have to look for receipt as long as you have the tag. read more
