This place was highly recommended by a friend of mine that lives here in El Paso so off I went for dinner. The ambiance of the place is unique. Established in 1972, they combined 3 railroad cars together, threw in a bar, some tables and chairs, and kitchen. They named it "Track One" and the rest is history. The menu is pretty extensive from steaks, burgers, and sandwiches to kabobs and salads. Came in on a tuesday evening and the place was packed. Since I was solo I just went to the bar since there was no wait. I love wings so I got a full order of the "Double Dip" wings as recommended. A full order ($14.99) is 10 pieces and comes with celery and your choice of bleu cheese or ranch. The Double Dip. Oh my. The wings themselves are huge and is deep fried to a crispy perfection. The sauce is just a simple mixture of honey and hot sauce. It's not spicy at all with just a tiny kick. Don't get the full order if you are planning to eat anything else other than dessert. Which brings me to the dessert that the bar waitress recommended. A chocolate chip cookie topped with ice cream. It was more like a small muffin but nevertheless it was a great segway coming from the wings. Overall, the service, food, and ambiance was nothing short of fantastic. I passed this spot a bazillion times exiting the 10 for certain mid-city destinations. It's in a sort of funky little stretch of Buffalo Soldier, south of Montana, but I noticed it often because it's usually busy and often packed. But it took me two years to stop, haha! Other reviews cover everything, so I will just add a bullet list of who I think will enjoy Track One. If you like these things, you'll probably like Track One: 1) Big, crispy wings with several good sauce options: mild, hot, lemon pepper, double dip (a sort of sweet and spicy sauce akin to a mild/med mango-chile.) I think I'm forgetting one more flavor. Bonus: Mine weren't over or undercooked, which isn't that common. Nice and juicy. They seem to be best known for wings and burgers, but I saw that plenty of regulars seemed to have other favs, and their to-go biz was steady also. 2) Unique spaces - the train cars each have a bit of a different feel, too. The overall feel is casual historic and a bit western. My favorite area is the bar. 3) Classic, mostly American food/menu, executed well. Things like meatloaf, salmon over rice, burgers. (We are not wing eating folk) The burger & sandwich were above average- (tender juicy grilled chicken) It was very busy even at 4 pm- had to eat at the bar. Staff was great. Upon pulling up to the location, the parking lot and street were packed (a sign of a happening spot), but also the place isn't the largest due to it being two vintage train cars. There was a wait, it was a Friday night, and the locals were out in full force, but I was able to secure a seat at the bar without waiting. My new year's resolution is to spend more quality time with family and we went somewhere we all enjoyed for my birthday dinner, Track One! It's an institution in El Paso and the wait times are beyond ridiculous (1 hr 45 mins last night) but that's because it's extremely popular. The service was friendly and fast, the food satisfying and delicious, the prices for quantity and quality reasonable, and the ambiance is date friendly as well as family friendly since it's in a train caboose! I ALWAYS take my out of town guests here because the double dip is just something I haven't found outside of El Paso and it's that good! Now that we have the famous wings (I prefer the strips because you can also get them coated in the double dip sauce and ratio is much better for sauce to lips) covered, I want to talk about their burgers. It took me four times to finally try the burger just because there's so much good stuff on the menu including the nachos. Their portions are huge and I feel like I'm wasting food if I order more than the wings and one other item. Their burgers are ridiculously big and overstuffed with ingredients. We got the Western burger and it came with 1/2 lb Angus beef, onion rings, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, raw onions, BBQ sauce, and a toreado jalapeno on top. It was basically the size of my face and we couldn't finish it; took the other half home. The best part was that the buns held and didn't fall apart like all the other buns in Texas! The wait was so long, I ended up going to the bar to order my birthday drink. They had something called a Trainwreck that won a lot of awards from the Malibu Bartender's Competition. It's made from muddling frozen blackberries and three types of Malibu runs (Coconut, Lime and Passionfruit). It was sweet and the texture pulpy and seedy, and it was strong. I was definitely a trainwreck after that. It's a super fun place but I always feel rushed just because there's always families and crowds waiting for seats. It was my first time visiting and I cannot wait to go back! Been here multiple times. The smallness of the restaurant makes for a very slow turnaround time for people to come in and out which in turn leads to really long wait times. Food is okay but is a bit pricey. Servers are nice. Another thing I noticed is that you can tell management does communicate well to staff which leads to multiple miscommunications across staff to customers. read more

I had the double dip and it definitely had that sweet fiery mixture that were so good I had to order seconds. I also was able to inhale their Big Chief kabob with steak and shrimp, along with fries. It came on a skewer, steak was a little dry but I appreciate a good surf and turf combo. Looking around at the other guests at the bar, I would say their wings are the big reason for coming here. And there was a bit of a wait at lunch time so I can tell they're popular. The double dip was a solid wing. Very meaty. Juicy and flavorful with a sweet and savory honey sauce (sounds crazy but it's good.) The hot wings were pretty average tasting but still very meaty. The chicken quesadilla was seasoned well and left a fresh taste even though it's all very unhealthy (lol). The greatest thing about this place was their fries and ranch. Hands down some of the best tasting fries I've had in years alongside a homemade ranch that I couldn't get enough of! Atmosphere: Dive bar feel. Almost seemed like a home turned into a full blown restaurant. A little dark, the tables/seats are very close together and the ceiling is low (watch out tall people!) Wait: This is my only real gripe. We went at 11:15am (they open at 11am) and it was a solid 25-30 minute wait. Next time I will probably just call in an order and pickup. Service - The wait was a bit long, but remember that the bar is open seating! Service was quick and efficient despite how busy the place was. Food - Got the double dipped wings and lemon pepper ones. Both were delicious and not too heavy. Definitely get the double dipped wings if you haven't before. I mostly tasted the honey, but I wish I got a bit more of the spiciness. We ordered the chili cheese fries and beef nachos. Both were very big orders so be prepared to eat. Super disappointing experience. Here from California and all we heard was try Track One. Cool concept in a train car. Not a long wait time to sit BUT my Salad kinda never arrived. Let me explain. Kids got tenders: husband got wings, son got burger - All I wanted was the Salad. Not sure if the waitress forgot but we had to remind her when she brought ALL the other food and long story short- it didn't arrive until everyone was done. At that point I asked her to take it back since everyone was done and she asked if I just didn't want to take it to go. Why would I take a salad to go in 100 degree weather after waiting, watching my family eat and I'm gonna eat it in a car? No thanks. She was nice enough to say she didn't put it on the check. Why would I pay for something I didn't get? It was a Salad! Super disappointing experience and not even an offer to comp the kids soda or something. Won't return. Long wait but we knew that from reading reviews. My husband and I both got a steak. They were just ok. The veggies that came with it smelled like fish. We could not eat them. I know they are known for their hamburgers which is what we should have gotten. We will be going back to try the hamburgers. read more
