Omg such a cute coffee spot! We were headed to the city and were in Cranford on business. We wanted to try a local coffee shop and this definitely was worth it. Coffee was great and checkout was quick. The wait time wasn't too bad either. If you're looking for a quiet spot -at least on a Saturday--this may not be the place. While most people were keeping to themselves on their devices, many were also on phone calls, which made the space feel loud. I had come in to relax but found it hard to do so. That said, the shop offers comfortable seating both inside and outside, which is a nice touch. This is a really good spot for creativity. Whenever I need to get some writing done I bring my laptop to the communal table and get to writing. The cafe is lively enough to inspire you but not so loud you can't concentrate. The shop also sells various coffee beans from different countries and Hawaii. The works here are very polite and helpful Both seasonal drinks were equally great. This is a cute little shop around the corner of Main Street so there's shops all around. But it is really close to an underpass with train tracks by it which I'm guessing is why they call it Track 5. I wouldn't say the shop was train themed but it was a cozy vibe. Going in the evening, the shop was lit but mildly dark where thinking back, it's kind of like what you see when sitting by a fireplace. They sold bags of coffee beans and grounds by the front and once your get to the register you are greeted by different baked goods and pastries for sale before you reach the person. Very tempting to peruse the goods as you wait for the next worker to free up making orders to take yours next. I was a bit in a rush. I'm not from the area but I just wanted to find a new shop I had heard about without much thought. I did come to find that it was metered parking around the different shops. At the time of writing this, the meter had the option to put in free 10 minute parking. I've never seen that before but it certainly had me racing against the clock a bit as I wanted to pick up a drink called a Milky Way that I've heard of at the shop. It made for a neat story to tell others but when it was all said and done, I did make it back to where I parked with my order which I was more than happy with. As for the Milky Way, it seemed to be a melted chocolate bar with drizzles of caramel syrup on top of the coffee. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but it had hints of how the chocolate bar tasted in my coffee which was interesting comforting and just what I wanted in the moment. There's a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating available for this shop, so I think I'd even bring other people here just to be comfortable and hangout while enjoying a good cup of coffee and a snack. read more

Been coming to Track 5 for YEARS, but never thought to review it, I'm just so used to it. This is a very popular coffee spot for a reason. It's top notch quality, always friendly service, the employees seem like they're genuinely having fun. They also offer smoothies, teas, & baked goods. There are two sides, both have seating. The larger side has more of that modern chill vibe where you'll find people with their laptops. A good amount of outdoor seating, & they're always busy. They're also dog friendly. It's in a popular downtown area, so there's metered parking & it is a bit scarce, so plan to circle the area a few times. This is just the go-to location for me, hands down. I have about 7 coffee spots between my home & Track 5, not including Dunkin or Starbucks, & this is still where I go. It's truly worth it. read more

Had an excellent experience here on a Friday afternoon with a group. Between us we ordered an iced latte, a cold brew, and their flash brewed iced coffee - which were all amazing. Very strong, so keep that in mind if you are caffeine sensitive! We also ordered the Baja breakfast sandwich and one of their quiches. They were also both awesome - the rosemary flatbread tasted like a focaccia, flavorful and light, very notable. I also enjoyed the egg white soufflé. The quiche was flavorful but tasted heavier. The only tricky thing is finding a place to sit - we had four people and it took a while, but just because it's popular! We weren't out to try sweets, but their pastry case looked amazing. Hands down, one of my favorite coffee spots in the area. Such great flavor to their coffee; doesn't taste like it's mass produced. I love that there are so many options available to customize your drink, and you're never limited to just one thing or another. It is a popular business, so you want to give yourself time in case there is a line, but if ever you want to grab and go, you can always order online for pickup. (Big fan of that option!) It's always very easy to find your order when you walk in, so you're never left standing there wondering where to go. Their hours aren't conventional coffee shop hours - they are open later into the day, so for people who do not have a "conventional" schedule, or need a caffeine pick-me-up later in the day, they are available for that. And, regardless what time you choose to visit, their service is consistent and top notch. If you choose to order and stay, the ambiance is really casual, cozy and relaxed with space to just set up and get some work done, study or just hang out with friends. What's even better is that, when the weather gets better, the side with the windows opens up like a garage door exposing the inside to the beautiful weather; it's a vibe. I visited Track 5 Coffee for a quick pick-me-up, and it didn't disappoint. The café was quite busy when I arrived, which I took as a good sign. The atmosphere was very welcoming and calm, with great coffee shop vibes. We ordered an iced latte with Shamrock Mint Cold Foam, an iced caramel latte, and an almond croissant. Everything was really good. The service was quick, and the cashiers along with the baristas were very respectful, which made the experience even better. One thing that seemed a bit odd, though, was that all sizes (S, M, L) come with only 2 shots of espresso, despite the price difference. While it's normal for extra shots to cost more, a large latte should definitely have more espresso than a small, especially when it's priced higher. I love you, Track 5, and always will (the warmth, the vibe, the water for dogs), but why, oh why, do you insist on giving me the dregs of the single-origin cold brew?? It makes the whole cup grainy and lacking flavor. I get it, you're slammed on the weekends (which is why I stopped drinking the drip, which can be burnt then), but the roastery cannot open soon enough. Hopefully when the line is split between two places, the coffee will get more consistent again. Until then, there are so many people I'm sure you won't even notice I'm gone. read more

Yay! Found the perfect coffee place 5 away from home and I'm in love. I can't believe I had not tried this out until now but glad I did! Beware, it does get packed on Saturday mornings all until 12ish...they cafe the yummiest little pastries and good strong coffee. The place gets lots of families and a younger crowd that loves sitting there to do homework, reading, etc. The women at the register are nice. Post yoga a friend recommended Track 5 coffee since it was close by. It's been getting cold outside and a hot coffee sounds great after a workout. Track 5 is located near the Cranford station and many other shops. Parking is about 50 cents for an hour and there is ample space in the area. I was pleasantly surprised how warm and homey the inside of the coffee shop felt. I knew immediately this is somewhere that I could find myself all day. And low and behold many other folks because the place was packed. Before I even decided on my beverage I was immediately pulled in by the sweets and goodies in their case. I opted for their coffee roll which was about $4 and got a tea. They had a wide assortment of teas, kudos to them! The barista was very friendly and quick. My friend and I looked to see if there was any room to sit inside however everything was taken. We went outside instead where there was plenty of seating. I would recommend this coffee shop if you're in the Cranford area. I even loved how they're in the holiday spirit always and put very cute touches on everything. read more

Struck by the friendly, helpful customer service. The line was out the door but they still calmly told me the wifi password and explained the cold brew roast options. Very kind but efficient. Lovely, earth tones aestetic. Busy place and hard to get a seat on a Friday but they have outdoor seating. it was cool that their seating area opens up to the outside. Outlets and wifi available for working. They have cold foam and lots of fall options to choose from. I like that their cold brew came in small, medium and large and they offer a light-medium roast or a medium roast. They were sure to ask me which I wanted and that's appreciated. I greatly enjoyed the pumpkin biscotti which was flavorful, firm but not tooth breaking. I'll get that again for sure. I've been coming to this place for a very, very long time. Great coffee spot, a tribute to my beloved hometown. Normally, I would shrug off my experiences here, as I often do. In the scheme of things none of what I say here is important. But I have had the same experience with perhaps a dozen different workers here in the last few months. Today I felt moved to finally say something; I love the management here. A fair percentage of the counter help, and by this I mean, specifically the individual who takes the orders consistently behave in an obsequious and patronizing manner. It is not an occasional experience, sadly. Perhaps the training stresses upselling and excessive cheeriness in such a way that the new hire becomes overbearing in order to exhibit their forceful cheeriness. Perhaps lots of these young folk are not skilled in reading people's reactions and knowing when to back off; but when I say no thank you I would not like to buy something to eat today (and I spend quite a bit of money buying food here in the course of a month) the counter help does not take no for an answer and waxes philosophic on how nice it would be for me to have a treat to eat. I also dislike being called dear. I'm detailing this because I've had that exact experience with MANY of the employees here over a significant period of time, all times of day every day of the week. Please, management, ponder this and consider trusting my judgment. I have heard the same opinion from more than one other of your customers. The coffee is great. The pastries and sandwiches are fine if a bit pricey, and, overall, I like to patronize this place. I want to enjoy being here, recommending it and coming back myself. And, as I write this, I am ashamed that I find myself going out on a limb, and making the decision to make a snarky comment here, which may discount my constructive criticism altogether, but here goes: Within a stones throw there is an establishment also with excellent coffee and pleasant ambience. The employees are universally wonderful to deal with, efficient, skilled, and in the 95th percentile, or higher in dealing with people. Sigh. read more

I finally got the chance to stop in for coffee on a Thursday around 9 am - this place was VERY busy! However, the line moved impressively quick! The staff was friendly & worked fast. I ordered Peru cold brews which were DELICIOUS. Canisters of whole milk, half & half, almond milk, etc. were available to add to your own coffee. There was even a bottle of liquid sugar! I also ordered a sausage, egg & cheese burrito which was made ahead of time and microwaved upon ordering. I didn't find the burrito to be worth the price as it was rather bland. We also got a blueberry muffin that was tasty. There is ample seating (both indoor & outdoor!) that made for a cozy environment, but it was definitely still crowded! All in all, I will be back for their delicious coffee to take to go! read more

I've come here twice before my hair appointments across the street at Sofia's Color Lounge (if I get there too early lol) and I haven't been disappointed. The Cinnamon Bun latte is really good. I get it with soy milk for an additional 60 cents. The almond croissant and Belgian waffle are tasty too! Crispy and flaky on the outside, soft in the middle. Order them both warm! *TIP: Order ahead of time online! Usually when I go around 5 pm, it typically takes them 10-15 minutes to get it ready for pick up at the pickup counter outside (there's no indoor entry for customers at this time due to COVID).
