Our 2002 Ford Excursion (8 cylinder turbo diesel with kayaks, bikes, and camping gear on another trip to Canada that also hauls horses, boats and cars) blew the turbo and muffler. We were fortunate to be stuck 10 minutes from Bend. We called Triple A (aka AAA) and were told that since we were on the highway that we would receive priority service. Two hours, one call, and a sheriff's visit later, Vic arrived as the emergency after hours roadside assistance. He understood that we were tired, more than disappointed with Triple A given the length of the wait, and set about to tell us about options in Bend to fix the turbo diesel and hotel options at each location. He even called hotels with us to determine where he would leave the vehicle for the night. He assured us that Triple A would honor a continuation tow the next day and instructed us on what to do. The next day we called the mobile mechanic that Vic recommended since he worked on Sundays. The mobile mechanic diagnosed the problem. We needed to get the Ford to his garage, however. We called Triple A per Vic's instructions and were told it would take at least two hours to be towed. We asked for Vic, but Triple A told us he was not working. Disappointed and knowing that Triple A's estimate should be doubled, we were prepared to spend another night in Bend. Minutes later Vic pulled into the parking lot in his tow truck. He said he was working, drove by the hotel, saw us in the parking lot, and decided to check in. Dale the mobile mechanic had helped us identify a tow truck that could assist us immediately and we called Triple A to assign them, but with Vic there, we again called Triple A to assign Vic. The only good thing I can say about Triple A is that they assigned Vic. If you're stuck in Bend, call him. Excellent responsive and knowledgeable service. read more

Here we are, in the midst of a typical unpredictable Central Oregon winter; snow fell for 24hrs straight. Mountain passes closed for avalanches, mounds of snow everywhere in town, cars slid off the roads and no plows in sight. Here comes along me and my low-profile 2wheel drive vroom vroom getting high centered only a block from my house. After three unsuccessful groups of kindly neighborhood folk pushing with all their might and a tow attempt resulting in a snapped cable, did I decide to call for roadside adsistance. Hours sooner than expected, a wonderful man named Vic with TRAC Towing showed up like a night in shining armor (I'm sure it was just the emergency lights, I was seeing, but still)! After putting a hole on my oil pan at a local fishing spot, AAA sent out Trac Towing. It did take awhile, but I am ok with that considering where I was and the time of day. Vic is the driver who showed up and I have nothing but good things to say about him. The first thing he did was hand me a bottle of water because I had been sitting in the sun. He was very professional and corteous, quick and efficient. I am from out of town and have been towed by companies I am friends with, but the drivers dont even compare to how Vic presented himself. You can tell he takes pride in his job. I would recommend Trac Towing anyday of the week after this incident. And I for sure would be requesting Vic if he is available. Unless I was in a hurry, I would gladly wait until he is available. That's how pleased I was to have had him be the driver to show up. read more

We were moving from Hawaii to Bend, Oregon and our car broke down on the drive from Seattle to Bend. We had two dogs in the car who were not used to long drives and we were all hungry. Vic, from Trac Towing, was FANTASTIC helping us. He tried to diagnose the issue with the car in order to avoid the tow charge but, after an hour or two of working on it, decided to tow us into Bend from about 50 miles away. Not only did Vic tow us with our dogs and luggage for our move to Bend, he dropped the car off, took us to the hotel (arriving at 1 a.m.), and helped with our luggage. The next day, he towed our repaired car back to the hotel. Vic is the towing saint. We are so appreciative and what would have been a horrible experience just showed us how good people are. I thought I needed A towing service to get my vehicle to a repair shop. The car would not start, came up with all sorts of errors. And then Vic showed up, and suggested it might be the battery. So he got out some battery cables connected it to the car and it started up immediately. Then he suggested I use baking soda and water to clean around the connections and possibly check to see if I needed a new battery. This saved me from having to wait at a repair shop and possibly be without a car for a while. Vic was very professional and I appreciated the fact that it could be resolved at my house, instead of waiting at a repair shop until they could get around to just telling me I needed a new battery. Yesterday, while it was raining, as my car wouldn't start and I was stranded. I called Triple A for help and they sent Trac Towing and a driver named Vic to assist me. I feel Vic went over and above his duty. In the pouring rain he tried to get my car started again and again. Finally, he had to tow it to a garage, but not without putting ever effort in getting the car started. Once we arrived at the garage to leave the car he brought an envelope to me, had me complete the questions, and then took the envelope with my car key to the drop box so the business would have the information on my car as soon as they open the next morning. Got my car stuck in a ditch at the beginning of a snow storm and it had to sit there for 15 days until enough snow melted where a tow truck could pull it out. I was nervous calling AAA because one never knows who they'll send out but WAS I EVER LUCKY!! Trac Towing arrived on time and had to spend about 30 minutes getting everything worked out to mitigate my damages -- they treated my car perfectly!! Mind you, this "tow" was only about 15' total but it was tricky and took a lot of time. Over the 25 years we've had AAA Plus we've been towed numerous times but this was by far the best experience we've ever had, thanks to Trac Towing. read more

On Feb. 27th we were stuck on Hwy 97 south, over an hour and my Chrysler van overheated and stalled. Sixteen degrees outside and I called triple AAA. The first responder stated that "They were too busy to help." So AAA called TRAC TOWING. Vic picked up my AWD van on his flatbed then found us @ Shari's . He took me to a well respected small repair shop. He wouldn't let me stand out in the cold, and stayed with me (11pm) until my ride arrived. Today we called Trac Towing to take my BMW to the repair shop. Unfortunately both my brother, and I have been very sick the last week and we haven't been able to shovel all the snow. Timmy showed up, and went way over and above helping us get the car out, and blocking traffic. I want to thank Vic at Trac Towing for helping me on a situation with my Truck. I left my keys out of state. When I arrived at Redmond Airport. I was not able to to get in my truck or move it. Vic was able to get my truck on a flat bed tow truck in a tight area. The front wheels were slightly turned yet he was still able to get my truck loaded and take me home. At the end of day today my truck decided it didn't want to start. So I called AAA and made a service call to have it towed home. Jim the driver with Trac Towing did a great job. He was friendly and rapidly responded with an eta. He was swift and made sure everything was secure and in alignment. The best part is he parked my truck exactly where I wanted it. Stranded with a broken brake caliper, Vic at Trac Towing responded to Lava Lands Visitor Center within 20 minutes of our call to AAA. He loaded our broken F250 onto the flat bed and towed our travel Trailer back to Bend for emergency repairs.
