Hey, I gotta give this place credit, they're introducing a whole new crowd to the wonders of boba drinks. But personally, I consider myself sort of a boba snob, and the tea just didn't cut it for me. They claim that they brew it, but it's watered down and tasteless in my opinion. The boba seemed a bit over cooked and mushy, and, once again, flavorless. You are supposed to soak your boba in a longan honey mixture to sweeten them... it didn't seem like they did that. Overall, just please, please brew your tea a little longer. I LOVE TMUMPS. They have a Tuesday special where they size upgrade for free which is awesome, but often comes with long lines. Personally, nothing I've tried here has been bad. You have the option to really build your own drink- you can mix different flavors and customize your toppings, sweetness, and ice level. All the drinks in the top 10 are good! I was curious as to why the line was down the block at the Pasadena location and this one had the line extending to the door. My husband said he wasn't impressed but wanted me to try it for myself. I ordered a slushee with cherry, strawberry and watermelon syrup, normal sweetness. They must use cheap flavoring syrups since none of the fruit flavors was discernible. This is my absolute favorite boba spot. Their prices are so cheap but the drinks are so good! Their tapioca pearls are to die for since they're so soft and chewy. All tpumps locations are pretty far from me but I occasionally take the hour and a half drive just to get boba here because it's just that good! I also love how drinks are extremely customizable to your preferences and they also offer samples to try new flavors! Sometimes if the line is long they'll offer samples throughout the line so you have something to drink while waiting. Drinks are consistent however service is not it. Ordered online at 7:52pm, online system says order will be ready at 8:25pm. Arrive and go up to counter at 8:30pm, staff looks confused. Apparently no one checks their online order system and there were multiple orders they hadn't made yet. The cashier tells the other staff these drinks should've been ready awhile ago, and says to wait a bit for them to make the drinks. No apology or anything. 3 drinks finally ready at 8:43pm. My daughter kept asking me to take her here to try their boba drinks. Since that day we've come 3 times already so we are hooked. They have a variety of drinks and you can pick up to 3 flavors, types of teas and milk, and a level of sweetness and if you want a topping. Finally I don't have to drive out to Rowland Heights or San Gabriel Valley for good boba!!! I am very excited that Tpumps opened up in my neighborhood back home. I can have my endless boba fix whenever I visit my parents from Boston. There are various Tpumps locations in NorCal and the closest one in SoCal is in Pasadena. Because this is a chain, I had some expectations trying Tpumps for the first time. The menu is simple, you basically create your own drink to your desire! You can build your own milk tea, smoothie, flavored tea, and slushie. The drinks come in 2 sizes, Tpumps (24oz) and Pumpbo (32oz). Rather than having set drinks on the menu, you can choose up to 3 flavors from their menu for your drink. I ordered a rose, honey, milk green tea with honey boba and light sweetness. Some of the other flavors that stood out to me were, raspberry, hazelnut, pumpkin spice, almond roca, passion fruit, lychee, taro. There are many more flavors to mix and match! Also, for the milk, you can get lactose free milk, soy milk, whole milk, almond milk. As you see, you can really customize your drink to your liking. I usually order my drinks with less sugar because the sweetness from the boba adds to the drink and the light sugar level at Tpumps was perfectly sweetened to my liking. The boba was also prepared to the perfect temperature and time. I really taste the honey flavor and it had the consistency of a perfect boba. The tea flavor was also very fragrant and what I look for when I order a jasmine milk tea. However, I did not really get the rose flavor in my drink, I am not sure if the other flavors overpowered the rose flavor but this was one thing that I noticed with my drink. The workers here are very pleasant and excited to greet every customer. They get me excited to order my drink! They also offered different samples for me to try. They were courteous and attentive to I have to say about my drink. One worker asked me if I liked my drink, which showed that they care about their customers! This is the type of service I expect when I go to restaurants, unlike some places with grumpy workers who hate everyone and their job! Pretty happy that a decent boba shop has opened up in the area. I work about 8 minutes away and love to come here during lunch breaks/after work to get my boba fix or get some work done. The atmosphere is very clean and inviting. Their flavor combinations are unique compared to other boba places I've been to before almost to the point where an indecision soul like me has a hard time deciding what to order. They provide samples (all of which taste amazing), but I think the best drink I've had there so far is the Rose Vanilla Lychee Green Milk Tea as recommended by on of their workers. Let's start off 2017 reviews with one of my faves! Tpumps, welcome to Upland! Just like the rest of 2016 events, this was definitely unpredictable. Back in my hs days, my friends and I used to drive to Rowland for affordable and edible boba. Upland kids these days have it so easy. -Parking: shared lot with 24 fitness so it can get a little crowded sometimes, but whenever I come here at night for boba I always find parking. -Service: always super duper friendly and quick. The servers are always so patient and knowledgeable, they were even able to entertain my indecisive father who's drinking boba for the first time hahaha. There's always ample samples to try before you order your drinks, always so good. -Ambience: fairly spacious store with a table, sofas, and bar style tables to study at with lots of outlets. The decor and pretty similar to the Pasadena location. Cute. I love it! -Dranks: always BOMB, seriously I only had Tpumps once at their Pasadena location and I was hooked! This review is written by someone that does not like sweet drinks nor have any allegiance to a boba place. That being said, Tpumps is a model that all boba places should aspire to be. Tpumps combines high quality tea with service rarely seen at boba places in Socal. The fact that they make every drink to order and can adjust the sweetness and flavor of any drink means that people of discerning taste can get the perfect drink. Choice anxiety is real at many boba places for the inexperienced tea drinker, but at Tpumps they do 2 things to combat this: give samples and provide a list of customer favorites to pick from. So now that you have your drink but it doesn't taste right for whatever reason... The staff will gladly remake your drink if there was too much sugar or was made incorrectly for whatever reason. The customer service from beginning to end is great and both staff and owner are friendly, helpful and quick to deliver. I wasn't much of a boba fan before visiting this place but now, I can't get enough! What's great about this place is the quality of the honey boba. It's fresh, tastes great, and has just the right amount of chewy softness. They also have so many customizations for your beverage, you can go there everyday for months and have the option of getting something different each time. I prefer to stick to the menu though because those flavors are tried and true. I recommend the rose vanilla green milk tea and chocolate strawberry vanilla black milk tea, both with honey boba (of course!). Another plus is they always have a few samples out so you can try new tea flavors and the employees may even pass samples to you while you're waiting in line. It can get quite busy but I've lucked out whenever I've gone and avoided long lines. If you're not happy with your drink, they'll fix it for you too. I actually never heard of Tpumps before but apparently they originated in NorCal and have a location in Pasadena, so they're probably well known in those areas. And out of all places, they decide to open one in Upland! Lucky me! They're located right across the street from UHS, so I'm pretty envious that students can have this as a hangout spot whereas my friends' cool hangout spot back in the day was Cherry On Top when it was new. The area is okay, you probably wouldn't notice it if you're just driving by on Campus. There are probably thousands of different combinations you can come up with at Tpumps; you can choose up to 3 flavors. The hardest part is choosing your combo, but right when you walk in, you get bombarded with many different samples (sometimes my boba craving is already taken care of by the samples) so that possibly helps you with your decision. The staff are nice and friendly and they wanna make sure your drink is just the way you like it. Their boba is soft and chewy and has a bit of a sweeter taste than regular boba because they use honey boba. Their sizes are generous! This is a cool little place for teas, milk teas, and boba. Boba and tea is sloooowly making it's way to where I live (1 place and only thai or black milk tea) so whenever I'm in Cali I have to satisfy my tea craving. This place was BUSY!! Line was out the door but moved fairly quick. The location is very close to a high school so I definitely don't recommend stopping by around the time school gets out. As for the drinks, there is a million combinations you could come up with. There is a board that lists all the flavors and you're able to have up to 3. Also a menu board with customer favorites. I ended up getting a lychee guava green tea with the honey boba and it was absolutely delicious. My only issue which is pretty much a nonissue is that the lightly sweetened option is still pretty sweet. I love tpumps and what they have to offer except their prices. I have been going here for about 3/4 years now and they have had a whole 50c price jump in the last year and half it seems on their regular sized drinks. When I first came here, they were $3.50 okay that's fair but about a year ago it went up to $3.75, okay I still went there cause I was in highschool and it was a go to place and didn't bother me much but now, just a few weeks ago maybe the beginning of 2021, their prices have gone up to $4.00 for the regular sized and this has been applied to the jumbo size as well, now at $5.00. Marketing at its finest but really it only seems feasible to come on Tuesdays now?? I don't understand the price jump as this place has always had lots of foot traffic; I've waited in line up to 20 minutes before numerous times for some tpumps! I asked about it on my last visit and just wanted to know why but didn't really get a straight answer so I don't know I get things are more expensive now but this is just tea really and it's already a tad spendy. Please don't make this place unattractive to those with less in their pockets. This location needs another dollar sign added to their page :/ I'll probably only be going here once or twice every few months now. read more

We love this place! My daughter told me about this, since she always gets it from her teacher at school. I am not typically a fan of boba but I tried the popping boba and it was delish! They have different types of teas and various flavors to customize anyone's pallet. And they do have traditional boba as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful, it does get busy but the line moves quickly. Lots of young kids and high schoolers in there so be prepared for lots of giggling and cell phones but it's all good they will help you figure out your drink order haha read more

The best boba I have ever had! It had a chewy texture and was sweet. Their drinks are also very good and they always have free samples for you to try. There are so many flavors to choose from and you can mix and match all the different flavors, but I would recommend choosing a combination off their favorites list. I often frequent the TPumps in Pasadena and been to the one in San Francisco. When doing a last minute large order (which I did not expect I would be able to do), the Pasadena location pointed me to the new Upland location. I was a little hesitant because of the distance, but since I wanted the drinks, I decided to go for it. I noticed that the location had a nice parking lot nearby, something the Pasadena location did not and that the site was very large and even had seating in the front area of it. It was the nicest Tpumps by far and reminded me of the many tea houses I go to locally in Cerritos. It also wasn't crowded, but since it just opened Friday, I'm sure that will change quickly, especially on Tuesdays. Like the other Tpumps, they had a number of samples, great customer service and always try to make sure that the order is done right, even if it means that they have to make it again. The number of combinations you make are endless and I have been able to compile a list of favorite drink combinations. In any case, while there was a slight mishap when getting the order, in the end, they went above and beyond to make sure that I got what I was suppose to and that everything was done correct. They even went the extra mile and made up for it all. I know that based on this experienced, that this location will definitely thrive as they truly care about their customer service and making sure everything is A-OK! read more

I went to the GRAND OPENING (11/4) of Tpumps in upland at around 3:00pm with a couple of friends. The shop was relatively crowded at this time. In celebration of the grand opening, they were size upgrading for free (regular: $3.50, large $4.50). FYI every TUEDAY, it is Tpumps Tuesday, so there will be free size upgrades on that day as well. Right when my friends and I entered, we were greeted cheerfully by the workers. Every one of the workers is extremely nice and urge you to try your drink before you leave. They want to make sure you love your drink. If you don't like your drink, they will take it back and make you a new one! I tried so many samples and they were all so good that I had such a hard time finally choosing what drinks to order. I ended up getting the ROSE VANILLA GREEN MILK TEA (with honey boba and regular sweetener) and the GUAVA PEACH GREEN TEA (with honey boba and light sweetener). One friend got the COCNUT SALTED BLACK CARAMEL MILK TEA (with honey boba and light sweetener) and the ALMOND BLACK MILK TEA (with honey boba and regular sweetener). And my other friend also got the ROSE VANILLA GREEN MILK TEA (with honey boba and regular sweetener). We shared the drinks with many of our friends and we all enjoyed it. I used to come here regularly back when I was a student at Upland High. I would always get my go-to, rose vanilla green milk tea, very sweet with honey boba. It's been a while so I opted for something different. I asked if they had Honewdew as an available flavor, as I didn't see it on the menu, turns out they do!! This one serviced me really fast, which o found really cool. My all time favorite is the blueberry milk tea with honey boba. This one is located right next to the 24 hour fitness across the street from Upland High School. I love this place for its tea flavors, and how you can make any combination of your own. They have a list of all the customer favorites, so those are definitely worth trying. Also there's always someone giving samples out, so you can get a taste before order. Their honey boba is super chewy and sweet! SUPER PLUS: One of the guys handing out samples told us that if we preferred one of the samples they gave out AFTER we ordered our drinks, they were willing to exchange it for us! How superb is that. I just wanted to say I was disappointed to hear about my mom's experience today at the Upland location. I asked her to go in at around approximately 1:45 pm (Tuesday) and purchase 2 drinks. She paid, and then realized that something was not right. The cashier had applied a coupon/reward to one of the drinks, which my mom had not asked him to do (she knows that I like to save coupons for non-Tuesdays :) ). My mom asked him why he applied a reward when she did not ask him to, and he called a girl over who acted like my mom was dumb and said that everything was fine. No, it was not fine. My mom did not ask to have a coupon applied, and nor it was fine to have to pay for a $1 upgrade to Pumpbo size on Tuesday. I am usually a fan of the customer service but not today. read more

Was very surprised and excited to find that Tpumps opened up in Upland! They also have another location in Pasadena but that's about 45 minutes away. This location is much bigger and provides some seating options. There is also plenty of parking in this location. The staff were really helpful and offered many samples to try. One of the team members, Kiana, was very welcoming and helpful with picking which tea to buy. I really liked her patience and enthusiasm she showed when explaining the differences between the teas. Thank you! I ended up ordering a peach rose green tea with a light sugar level, and it was true to its description. A refreshing floral fruity flavor. I knew nothing about TPumps before I came here, I just decided to come check it out, I was actually looking for a coffee spot that was open late, BUT I'm glad I stumbled upon this instead. Everyone is super nice and friendly and the drinks are AMAZING. I mean I've only had 2 so far but they were sooo good. There are so many different combinations to try and I can't wait. And a plus is that as you're waiting in like to order or even waiting on your drink they give you some delicious samples. And Tuesdays you get an upgrade to a jumbo size, score. The workers are helping you out with the menu while letting you sample any drink you want ! I got overwhelmed and ordered my usual taro milk tea like any where else. Love the concept of this boba joint, not gonna lie. You get to choose up to 3 flavors for your tea...and there were plenty of flavors to choose from. The teas they had to choose from for the base are green, black, or non caffeinated. For a dollar more you could choose from one of their premium tea options...oolong, ti kwan yin, or pu-erh You have the option of milk and for 50 cents more you can opt for whole milk, soy, or almond milk. Unlike other boba places, I find this place unique because you can choose the sweetness level of your tea (no sweet, light, normal, or very sweet) Prices are super affordable...$3.50 for their 24 oz size and $4.50 for their 32 oz size. If you are stumped on what to get, they have a ton of customer favorites you can choose from...or you can just ask for a recommendation and they are more than willing to help you out. They give free samples of the plethora of concoctions they make up through out the day and their customer service is wonderful. The workers are super easy to converse with and they make your experience a memorable one. I just found out about this place a few months ago and decided to give it a try. You can mix any flavors you like together so there's something for everyone and I believe there are only three toppings you can add (boba, aloe and basil seeds?) The boba is hit or miss depending on when you go. During rush hour(specials are on Tuesdays) the boba isn't always cooked right. If you enjoy flavored tea/milk tea than this is the place for you, however if you're looking for something similar to your Asian typical boba joints, I can't say this place hits the spot. My first time ever trying tpumps was so long ago and I didn't think I'd have the chance to get it again since it was too far to drive each time to Pasadena... But I was so excited when this location opened up! It's definitely more accessible with lots of parking since it isn't downtown which is always a bonus. It's just as I remembered with so many flavors to pick from and their customer favorites definitely don't disappoint! It's 4.50 for large 32 oz 3.50 for 24. Who wouldn't pay that extra $1? The line is almost always long but it moves pretty fast and you don't wait too long for your drink either. Plus when you're in line they have a wonderful sample jug you can try while waiting. I tend to like the lesser sweet drinks and I think regular sweet is just enough. I have tried extra sweet drinks but I think it starts to be too syrupy. So try it regular sweet first before you start adding more! read more
