Was on a lunch break with a coworker. We wanted something to drink so stopped by. Many years ago this place was ding tea, then R&B tea, then boba tea planets now. We were delighted to see it was happy hour after 1pm which was buy 2 get 1. The worker was able to customize our drinks. We got 2 brown sugar milk tea with boba and their tropical fruit. I tried the milk tea during lunch and it was tasty. Got home later that day and tasted the fruit tea and it was also good. I liked that it came in a keepsake bucket and the fresh watermelon fruit was a good touch. With the happy hour, we paid $14.50 for 3 drinks. Individually drinks are about $7 so not cheap, but they were decent tasting. Come for the happy hour! read more

There's a wide selection of teas (milk and fruit) and toppings. The ambiance inside is also really cute. There's a lot of seating and there's board games to play. The overall ambiance of the shop was not bad, I like the logo of the shop and the vibes were pretty solid. But the cashier that took my order seemed really tired and it didn't feel that welcoming. I understand it was around lunch time so it was probably almost his break so I'll cut him some slack. Drinks were a bit slow coming out even though there was no line and my friends and I were the only ones in the shop at that time. The drink I ordered was the lychee yakult at 25% sweetness. I did not really enjoy the drink since it tasted very watered down; like instead of just adding less sugar, they just added more water. I wasn't too big of a fan, but if you order that drink, I'd recommend probably around 75% sugar. It costed $5.70, which I thought was a bit pricey considering the quality of my drink. One of my friends ordered the Vietnamese house coffee and he throughly enjoyed it, so maybe that's the move next time I go there. My other friend ordered the taro milk tea with boba and she also enjoyed it. The taro is powder base so expect strong artificial taro flavor with no real taro in it. Overall, I think this place is not bad, I just need to order the right drink next time. Also there isn't many boba shops in Claremont, so this is close enough and is solid. read more

R&B Tea recently opened, taking the place of Ding Tea in this relatively large plaza. The decor, layout - pretty much the same. But the menu has been revamped to serve up the same high quality drinks that can be found at pretty much all R&B locations. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to hear that the Happy Hour weekday special was going on. And they also had a healthcare worker promotion in which the deals would stack on top of the other! I had originally only wanted one drink, but after hearing about the BOGO 50% off deal, I ended up getting two and didn't regret it at all. Taro Stormy ($5.25): I've tried the Mango Stormy from Pasadena's location and really enjoyed it, but I knew my friend was a bigger fan of taro - and the worker helping me said that Taro wasn't as sweet as Mango. This drink does come with cheese cream, which for a first-timer might sound a little odd - but the drink tastes so good, especially with the taro and milk and ice all blended in layers. We both really enjoyed this drink - taro wasn't too sweet but the cheese cream gave an added sweetness that mixed well with the taro. I didn't adjust sweetness and it was perfect for me. Also ordered the Devil's Booster ($4.95 plus $0.65 for boba) with less sugar, ice. Super refreshing, especially if you're a fan of fruit teas. I felt like the Pasadena location actually had fruit slices in it, but here there was only some fruit pulp floating at the top. I got a mixture of grapefruit, orange, passion fruit - but not really sure which fruits were inside. Very mild tea flavor - the less sugar was the perfect amount of sweetness for me. Boba was cooked well and had that chewy texture. Would recommend if you're looking for a more fruity drink. Worker helping me was extremely nice and helpful. There was a good amount of foot traffic on a weekday evening. Definitely will be back if I'm in the area to take advantage of their promotions! read more

Long, open, clean, airy space with a cute plant wall. Solid boba menu made even better with actually GOOD boba! We are picky with our boba and have had a lot of boba in a lot of places -- we want it cooked to perfection, which means it has a nice chew without it being too chewy and most definitely NOT soggy. And the boba must have a subtle sweetness to it because nobody wants BLAND boba. Bubble tea without flavor defeats the whole purpose of having the balls float in your drink. I was contacted by the now previous owner and given 4 free drinks to come back and give them a 2nd chance. I've been back a few times now and I have to say that the boba and drinks have been a 10/10. They have the chewiest golden boba, it's not mushy or soggy like most boba cafe's. An employee named Tyler has made my experience and re-visit outstanding! He's such a standout employee there for all the right reasons. As a business owner myself I can say that whoever the new owner is here needs to take care of Tyler and retain him at all costs! Sunday august 1 at around 4 pm, i went in for two drinks today. The wait time wasn't too bad, but it wasn't fast either. The employees seem to be taking turns making the drinks but only one of the two took the orders. I ordered a taro tea, but they were out of taro, so i asked about their vanilla or rose tea. I decided to get the rose tea. The guy mistakenly made the vanilla. It wasn't a big deal so i kept it even though he offered to remake it. He apologized, and the other employee started hysterically laughing at the situation which wasn't even funny. I was uncomfortable for him, it really gave off toxic work environment vibes. The boba was oh so soft, definitely nice and chewy! Parents got the Taro Stormy & the Mango Stormy. With the Taro Stormy, it can be on the sweet side so get less sweetness if you're not a fan of sweet drinks. The Mango Stormy was decent, but a little sour. My sister got the Wintermelon Milk Tea with Aloe Vera, which was pretty good. All in all, a pretty decent boba place in Pomona with lots of options for drinks and a nice variety of toppings. Taste is okay. I remember having this tea in San Diego and was happy to hear there was a Pomona location, but maybe all locations are different! (I really enjoyed other R&B locations)! We ordered through Doordash, and I think they forgot to add the boba topping, because it wasn't there as an option. What was pretty disappointing was that we called the store a few times to make sure about the order, but all were met with no answers and a cut off line after 3 rings. It has consistent taste and quality with the Rowland Heights location, cute decor, and has card games and jenga for people who want to hang out at the store.
