Otherwise spacious with lots of dessert or snack options from hot cheetos to agua fresca to paletas to Mexican ice cream. I ordered a small scoop of Chocolate Abuelita ice cream--so creamy and thick and just like the Mexican hot cocoa I used to drink. Yummy!! My husband ordered the mint chocolate chip ice cream in a waffle cone. Absolutely delicious! I am hooked on the iced mangonada, it is definitely a treat to have one of these, especially with the hot weather we have been having lately. There are several locations, you may find one closer to you than the City of Pomona. I always take popsicles to go. There is a large variety, my favorite are the spicy mango with tajin seasoning. I typically am not a fan or Mangonadas but for some reason I was craving one SO bad the other day. I was genuinely upset that my day was almost over and I still did not have a mangonada in my possession. I took a quick drive to one of the many La Michoacana's in the area. This one is right next to Tijuanas tacos (bomb food let me tell you). I ordered a small Mangonada, elote in a cup (esquites) and limón ice cream. You already know what was for me! The mangonada I got with chamoy ice cream, not the pre made ones in their fridge with ice. I was glad I inquired about the ones sitting in the fridge beforehand as I typically do not order Mangonadas. The presentation of the mangonada was exquisite. A few items (like the tamarind bits) I was not aware of in the Mangonada but its was overall GREAT. I finished half of it in the parking lot b/c I just could not wait any longer! A fair amount of mango chunks that were nicely distributed throughout the cup. The esquites, I wasn't quite a fan of. It did not taste very fresh to me. I might stick to the street vendors for this. Just a few days into the new year and all I'm thinking about now is the next time I'm going to be able to get my hands on another Mangonada. read more

We stumbled across this place the other weekend while in Pomona. I can contest that this is a true-to-form Michoacán-style ice cream shop. The first thing I noticed were the bright pink walls and strong smell of bleach. Kind of funky, but at least it's clean, right? You can get an assortment of authentic Mexican snacks here in addition to ice cream. I opted for a mangonada, and it was amazing. I've had this confection several times in the past, but this shop really put a nice spin on it with a hefty scoop of mango ice cream (rather than just ice chunks) and a healthy serving of sliced mango atop it. It was great. Service was friendly, too. The woman helping was very sweet and super quick with getting the line moving. I don't find myself in Pomona often. Oh My Gee!!!! I'm from Michoacán and I grew up with these "Antojitos" This is the first time that I walk into this franchise here in the states and I was really hoping it is exactly what I have when I'm back home. We were not disappointed at all, I felt like I was at home. I felt like it the "La Michoacána" around the corner from my house in Mexico!!! As you can see the whole family went crazy ordering snacks!!!! And the best thing of all was the great customer service. We held up the line since we had such a big order So other employees started going behind us and helping people that had been waiting longer so they could keep the line moving. That didn't bother me at all, I was actually happy that they didn't all work on our orders (of course that would've probably made our wait time shorter) but I was happy they decided to help the people behind us instead of having them waiting till we were done. Horrible customer service, the lady came 7 minutes late to work at 12:05 and then he make me and my family wait for an additional 12 minutes in other words she open the place at 12:17 (17 minutes waiting total). I went to this location the other day for the first time. However, I religiously go to another location which I love off Indian Hill. Anyways, I ordered a fruit bowl and as she was making it I noticed some of the fruit looked bad. I didn't want to say anything because my bf was in denial and didn't believe me the fruit was going bad. We also ordered a lot of paletas. When we got home and tried the paletas they were bad, tasted like fruit was old when they made them. The fruit bowl don't get me started it was horrible. I regret not speaking up. Never going again to this location. I will keep going to my original spot, where the fruit is actually ripe and not going bad when they make us our order. read more

This review is mainly about their customer service. I've been to this location twice, the first time it was just "ok" service. But this second time it was particularly bad service. There were two girls and one tall skinny guy working behind the counter and one girl seemed to be on her break, she knew the guys behind me and introduced them to one of the other girls working behind the counter to which she whispered to them "she my brothers girlfriend" it was a big shock to the guys, idk it seemed like a big deal. The guys went back in line behind me. however, the tall lanky guy gave them a look and a nod to go to the other girl (the one with the boyfriend) and she helped them without even considering me, who was next in line. Whatever, it's my turn to order finally, the girl who assisted me was *the one with the boyfriend she was taking my order but wasn't looking at me, she was looking behind me idk to see the guys who just left ? Idk. I ordered two small single scoop ice creams that are around $2.72 each (or something like that) I knew she wasn't paying attention because she asked me two times if "that was all" after having told her repeatedly "yes" I moved to the cashier and surprise surprise it's the tall guy. He tells me my total is $9. I said "$9?" He said, "yes" with such confidence. I gave him ten dollars and he gave me $1.50 back, no receipt. Needless to say it was wrong and I came back and nicely told him to check the right total. He tried to figure it out, but when he couldn't he called on the manager and he told her that I "supposedly" gave him $10. LOL. Anyway after they figured out his mistake the manager was professional and apologetic like I assume managers should be, but I appreciate it. Bottom line, there is another Michoacana on Indian hill and I should have just left to that one when they allowed the guys to cut infront of me. The customer service is really good, everything is clean, and one of the workers in particular is very kind his name is Bryan. So we decided to go last night and once we were ordering our stuff I noticed this place is not the same franchise as the one on Indian Hill!! They scoops are not as big as the ones from the original La Michoacana and they're more expensive. I paid $7 for 3 scoops in a waffle bowl. Original place is $5 for large scoops in a waffle bowl garnished with cookies and toppings. Definitely will not be going back. read more

Been coming since this place open and I can only speak great words for the place. I've had the shakes, ice cream, paletas, mangoneadas, esquites, aguas, esquimales and that's it for now lol. If there's a line, don't worry, employees are good workers and the wait is worth it. Prices are not on the menu, just ask. The owner is very involved with the business and I've had the pleasure of meeting him, he's a really nice guy, very friendly. Sampling is a must for ice creams, don't be afraid to taste exotic-named ice creams.
