POSITIVES: -Pretty cool parking lot. -Great customer service. -Nice, clean and organized place. -XXX section for all you pervs! HAHAHHAA! -They also sell some CHEAP popcorn packs if you wanna eat popcorn while watching the movie you rented. NEGATIVES: -With all the Asian movies they have, I'm surprised that they don't have "Battle Royale" or the REAL KOREAN version of "My Sassy Girl". -They need to start getting more BLU-RAY discs and more VIDEO GAMES. -I don't like the fact that Blockbuster closes LATER than "Now On DVD", because that means it leaves me no choice but to go rent at Blockbuster. FINAL THOUGHTS: -There are a lot more cool secrets about this place, but you will have to find out yourself! hahaha! (no, it's not a secret massage parlor! hahaha) -This is THE BEST NON-CHAIN video rental place in Carson...reminds me of a better version of the old Triple 7 Video (R.I.P., now Pizza Patron took over), but bigger! -A few miles down, "M's VIDEO" SUCKS...I hate that place! AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. I made a huge mistake coming…read morehere. The location felt sketchy from the start, but l ignored the red flags because I trusted them with my cards. Biggest mistake I could've made. I brought 23 cards in for cleaning. While a couple came back cleaned, 1 am convinced at least 4 of my cards were swapped out. There were no receipts, no documentation on their end, and absolutely zero accountability for what was handed over versus what was returned. The only reason I believe I got my Shadowless Blastoise back is because I had picture proof and personal records of the card before bringing it in. If I didn't, I honestly don't think I would have seen it again. The entire experience was stressful and uncomfortable. Tony acted shady throughout the process, he held onto the red cheek, Pikachu and the Misty the entire time and I thought he was going to do a good job on cleaning those two cards instead one look like it wasn't touched, and the other one looked like it was swapped because as you could see in the picture, I did not have a bend in the corner and when I mentioned my banned Misty card, he immediately offered to buy it from me. That instantly raised major red flags. To make matters worse, the pack I purchased from them appeared resealed. Between the suspicious behavior, lack of professionalism, poor record keeping, and complete lack of trustworthiness, I would strongly warn collectors to stay far away from this shop. Please do your research and read reviews before trusting any shop with valuable collectibles. I'm seriously considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because customers should never have to worry about their cards being tampered with, swapped, or mishandled. (I bought 3 vintage LIFE magazines from the 1930s-1950s and the store had a great "Buy 2 get 1 free deal!" I also vintage Saturday Evening Posts, Rolling Stones, and Ebony magazines.) I specifically went inside because my partner and I have been wanting to buy an easy DIY airplane kit for my 90 year old Korean War veteran / former pilot grandpa. Hobby stores are rare and far between these days, so I was elated to find a hobby store (finally!). The store has been owned for the last 20 years by a lovely, charming couple, both of whom were at the store working. They were fans of my dog and were super kind. The store clerk who worked there was also AWESOME. He must have been no older than 20 years old, but when I walked in and told him I needed an easy airplane building kit for a Korean War vet, he immediately started listing off all these planes (jets?) that existed in that time. I wanted to be like, "Hey! I'm older than you and I have no idea what any of this means! How do you know so much?!" I was very impressed. He helped me pick out an easy-to-make kit for my grandpa and he was also a huge help when I couldn't decide which of their many vintage magazines to buy. There are A LOT and they all look so cool. I love history. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find any LIFE magazines about President Carter or 1970s folk music (my aunt's two interests), but I love that store clerk for searching through the stacks of magazines and trying to help me find one of that nature for her. I ended up buying LIFE magazines about the Dodgers in 1938, WWII soldiers returning home from 1944, and one on Elizabeth Taylor, circa 1950. I think my grandparents are going to have a kick reading these old rags. I hope they bring back lots of good memories. I wish this store good fortune and another few decades in this locale. The original Game Boy brings back so many memories, and now I'm wondering if we've been sitting on a little treasure all these years. But Mom's response was priceless: "Well, we'll never know. I'm keeping it forever!" And honestly, I love that! Sometimes the sentimental value is worth way more than the dollar amount. Whether you grew up with the original Nintendo, Game Boy, Sega, or other classic consoles, or you're part of the newer generation discovering these games for the first time, there's something here for everyone. Video games have a way of bringing people together, no matter their age, gender, or background. Some of us grew up blowing into cartridges, trying to beat that one impossible level, and arguing over whose turn it was. Others are discovering these classics for the first time. Either way, the nostalgia is REAL! You can tell this is the kind of business that has a lot of love put into it.
