Actually drove Mas around to show him what I wanted in my property (new roses, lawn, plants, etc). Fast forward after the job was done and court appearance for shoddy work, I had to hire someone else to come in and fix what they had done. Plants that they installed died within months of being put in the ground. Landscape professional that I hired to fix their problems told me "you get what you pay for" I spent another $15000 fixing what they did and what I was promised by the husband Couldn't be more true....avoid avoid avoid....You would have better luck doing it yourself with half the cost and headaches... I never write reviews, but I am so upset about the shoddy work that Toyoda did, that I had to leave a review here. A year ago, we went with Toyoda based on a recommendation from a neighbor. However we had a very bad experience with them. The biggest problem is that when they did the relandscaping, they didn't do anything to remove the existing weeds. They turned over the soil one time and then put in the new plants. The weeds started to grow back even before they were done installing the new plants. We pushed them to take care of it, and they said it wasn't their job to remove weeds (even though weed removal was in their contract), and that it was our job to pull the weeds. They were more concerned about our payment to them than ensuring we were satisfied. They put in a weed cover, but the weeds grew through the weed cover and now makes it impossible to pull the weeds from the roots. Neighbors who watched them install our garden told us later that they were appalled that Toyoda didn't do anything to properly prepare the soil. Other issues - they didn't listen well to what we wanted and we had to constantly push them; they didn't honor their guarantee to replace plants that died in the first two weeks. The things we did like: the retaining wall that was built by a subcontractor, the landscape design and the drip irrigation system they installed. We are going to have to redo whole sections of the garden - pull out the weed cover and start over. Beware - even though they are fairly reasonable, you get what you pay for. read more

Needed to re-landscape the front yard and fix persistent leaks in the sprinkler system at the family home. Found Toyoda Landscape, a locally-run family business, doing an online search and am very glad my sister and I hired them to do the work. Mas, Helen, and their sons worked quickly and efficiently to replace the barren dirt and weeds with their low maintenance design that perfectly compliments the existing greenery in front of the house. Within a week, they completing our landscaping job. It's a pleasure to use the sprinkler system again to water the front yard instead of by hand. Moreover, we're amused by the shocked looks of passersby who pause in front of the house to admire the new landscape design. Had Mas & Helen return to relandscape my front and back yard. They redesigned my planters and helped me select some more modern "bladey" plants. They installed new sod, fancy rocks, and updated my existing irrigation system. My favorite is the new more efficient drip system for my pots and roses so I don't waste so much water! Overall A+ service and price. Again very happy and would definitely recommend! I referred them to my neighbor and they hired them too. We own a townhouse with a very small backyard. We called around looking for a landscaper and Toyoda Landscape was the most prompt in responding back as well as being flexible with our schedule. Mas came on a Saturday morning to do an estimate and within two days I received a sketch as well as an estimate on everything. Helen (his wife) was very good at sending me many different photos so I could visually see my options. I contacted Toyoda Landscape due to a broken valve issue late Thursday afternoon when my gardener pointed out the issue. When I called, it went to voicemail so I left a detailed voicemail. A few hours later, Helen contacted me to let me know the cost and when Alex (technician) will be able to make it out to check the problem (Friday 3:00pm-5:00pm). When I arrived home by 2:30pm, Alex was already in-front of my house (I'm impressed!). Right away, Alex isolated the problem and proceeded to resolve it (he offered me a few solutions and have me decide). He had to dig, dig, and dig to get to the valve (my sprinkler system is over 20 y/o). It turns out, there were roots growing everywhere. After he was done, he proceeded to have me turn on my system to make sure everything is functioning perfectly. Can ask for more. Thank you guys! read more

I recently hired Toyoda Landscape to completely remodel my front and back yard and build a new front porch and walkway. The project took approximately six weeks to complete and they have completely transformed my front/back yard from a weed infested jungle to a tranquil and visually soothing garden of colors. I went with Toyoda for two simple reasons - they were very patient and honest. Mas Toyoda (co-owner) worked with my wife and I extensively on our garden ideas. We had asked for modifications to his first design and he (and his wife Helen) gladly and patiently came back with a revised design which we chose. They are also very honest. During the course of the project both Mas and Helen made some recommendations concerning plant/flower selection including the type of grass that should be installed. In the end the total cost of the project was under budget since we ended up using less plants than initially quoted and the grass we selected (St. Augustine) was no longer available this season so we opted for Marathon which was cheaper. In terms of cost they are very reasonable. I had extensive landscape work done to my house. My front porch, steps, walkway and old front/back planter bed were demolished. Helen worked with us on the planter/porch design and we paid extra for the brick upgrade. If you are looking into remodeling your landscape and would prefer a professional to do it, you should definitely call Toyoda. We are glad we did. read more

Needed to have the wiring fixed on the sprinkler system where 3 out of the 6 zones lost connection with the controller were not working. Called and left a message around 10am. Got a call back at 1:30pm. They agreed to come out at 2:30pm for an inspection and estimate. When Helen and Alex arrived on time, they checked out the sprinkler system and determined that it was a repair that they could do with this trip. The job was done quickly and thoroughly. They also inspected all sprinkler heads, replaced and adjusted if necessary. The charge was very reasonable, and they delivered the service with friendliness and smiles. Called and got a return call the same day, but was in a meeting. I should have taken the call because I had no idea when I became available, that I would basically need to call about 4 more times before getting a return call. I also tried emailing. My persistence paid off because I did get a call back and an appointment for 2:30pm. Well it is now 5:50pm and still no show and NO CALL to say "I'm lost" or "I'm not coming". While waiting, I called again and once again, no return call. I essentially wasted my time setting aside other commitments waiting the landscaper to arrive. Never happened. read more

I was looking for a local company to to work on my sprinkler system, not quite sure whether to replace everything or just replace certain sprinkler heads. I was fortunate enough to find them in the local yellow pages. Called the company-left a voicemail and also emailed them through their website. Mas came to give an estimate and surveyed the problem of brown spots in the lawn and explained in detail what he thinks needs to be done to fix the problem . We noticed he has a calm demeanor and very courteous. Helen (his wife) emailed me a detailed estimate of how much is it to replace the sprinkler system in our front and backyard which was very reasonable for the work involved. My husband and I decided to hire them. A total of 4 persons worked on our yard for a total of three days. They finished the job one day ahead of the schedule. They replaced our old sprinkler system and added few more valves were it is needed and made sure even the side planters near the house were also well watered.
