I'm so disappointed. In jersey for the weekend and wanted a good diner experience. This was so close to our hotel we went despite lukewarm reviews. Unfortunately the reviews were on point. The waitress was unorganized unpleasant and scattered and we rarely saw her. The food was not good. The Acia bowl was just soup. When I asked about it the waitress said "that's the way we do it" and I'm not sure that's true (it was served in a scalding hot bowl or maybe put under heat lamps as far as I could tell). It had very limited fruit and granola in it - just a waste of money. It was a mess. The hash browns were awful - no flavor and tasted gross. We didn't touch them. No milk alternatives and very limited options for vegetarians/vegans. The waitress was so happy to see us leave. Anyone with any interest in us could tell we did not enjoy our meal. This is close to a bunch of hotels so I assume they stay at this sub-par level because they don't need to rely on repeat customers. read more

This is a great diner. We have had breakfasts, lunches and dinners here and never disappointed. Also from what I have overheard times when someone had a concern and it was always addressed right away by the staff. Please give this place a chance. I recommend the Greek Breakfast. read more

When you go to Townsquare, you are among family. There's a reason they've stayed in business this long; they serve outstanding, fairly-priced food and do it with a smile. Over 20+ years of patronage talking here, and we wouldn't change a thing. Want breakfast? A quick lunch? A fantastic seafood dinner? Done, done and done. Don't let the hubbub of Shop*Rite and Bob's Furniture dissuade you from pulling in, because they are a true oasis in the sea of Rt. 15 pandemonium. Trust me, you'll be happy you did. Costa, Dimos and Pete, keep doing what you're doing. It works. read more

Lots if variety here. Salad is decent and the onion soup is tasty. They also serve alcohol which is unusual for a diner. Nice servers. My only complaint is that the food is never hot. The baked potatoes are always lukewarm. Perhaps they need heat lamps? read more

This is the BEST low key diner near Mount Arlington. My friend and I came here after we missed the hotel brunch after a wedding. It is clean, pretty, well staffed, great service and DELICIOUS. We got the matzo ball soup and split and omelette and Benedict. HIGHLY recommend. read more

This is a wonderful family owned and operated diner with quality food and friendly service with a smile. The Nova lox platter was excellent, with fresh ingredients. A real gem! read more

Great food and quite a few gluten free (and vegetarian) options! I always get breakfast, with gluten free toast. They have GF French toast, which I haven't tried, but sounds good!! Service is always good, and they understand and care about allergies! read more

Just had lunch at the Townsquare diner. Meh, the food was mediocre to fair. The service was terrible! Waitress never came over to ask how everything was, or if we wanted a refill on the drinks. The place wasn't busy at all and it was 3pm on a Saturday. Won't be going back. read more

Excellent I had French toast and it tasted like a churro! Large portions.

A nice hometown diner with friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff that are always happy to welcome you. The food is always fresh and tasty with plenty of choices whether you want to be healthy or sinful or somewhere in the middle. Why would you go to a chain restaurant when a family owned place is so convenient and delicious? read more

Good food, nice portions, open late night till 2 pm on weekdays.

I ordered my usual: GF french toast w/ fresh fruit. Today the order came out and it looked very flat & greasy (oily). I asked the waitress if this was definitely GF. She assured me that it was and started to play it down as "that's the problem with gluten free"... I assured her that I always order this and today it looks terrible and is very soggy in an oily, greasy way. She offered to get me a new order of it. At first I declined but after two more small bites I asked her to please put in a new order. The new order was brought to me by the owner. He asked my to try it. Again, it was flat & greasy/soggy. He blamed it on the bread. I don't agree and told him. I pointed out that there's no reason for the french toast to be soggy in a greasy, oily way, because of the bread. I ate the fruit and didn't eat any more of the F.T. The bill came. The F.T. was on there (I was a bit surprised & disappointed) so I brought it home to see if maybe, just maybe, it would be a little better if I toasted it. No such luck. Very disappointed today. I hope they figure out what went wrong in the kitchen today. read more

I remember this place as a kid and let me just say i wasn't a big fan of it so when my boyfriend and i came back into town and he said why don't we go to the diner near shop-rite i was scared to eat there. the first thing i noticed when i walked in was WOW! everything looks great! they got a "make-over" and it really does looks great. the food taste better and even the staff seems to enjoy working there. I will definitely be coming back when i'm town! :) read more

Big portions and friendly staff. The coffee is good for a diner. Great pancakes and they cook the bacon crispy to order.

Ate here for lunch b/c of the 4star review. Conveniently off I-80 Rt 15 S. We were greeted and seated by the hostess promptly. The place was very clean and shiny with mirrors reflecting back light from the windows. Several flat screen tvs were tuned to the Olympics w/the volume turned off. Our waitress was very pleasant, attentive and friendly. My husband ordered the cheeseburger, son ate pastrami sandwich and I got the NEw Yorker (Corned beef and Pastrami, melted swiss, mustard on panini). Food came quickly. Husband complained burger was too charred for his liking, and son said pastrami was greasy ands soaked through the bread and couldnt pick it up. The New Yorker was ok. The portions were big, so we eneded up doggie bagging remainder half. Prices were decent. Go to their website and show them 10% coupon and they'll deduct it from your bill. read more

This is my favorite diner in New Jersey. I've been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on several occasions. Their eggs benedict is absolutely delicious. Another favorite of mine is the steak & cheddar panini. Service is always fantastic. Place gets very busy, so I take comfort in knowing the food is always fresh. Recently, I noticed a table ordering a bunch of Bloody Mary's...maybe I will treat myself to one this Sunday? read more

Great breakfast and service!! Definitely recommend to stop. Its beautiful inside and staff is friendly.

Simply the best Taylor Ham I have ever had. Period. Other than that, great pancakes, superb service and good prices. I highly recommend a stop at Townsquare Diner read more

New Jersey is known for its diners, and the Greek family that owns Townsquare and others contributes to that reputation. In terms of aesthetics this place partakes more of the family restaurant rather than the classic aluminum-covered diner. The inside is expansive, and on Sunday around noon it was packed with regulars. At quieter times you might be able to choose between their dining room, a series of booths in the 'diner' portion, and the classic diner counter. Wherever you sit, there's no shortage of televisions. The menu is comprehensive and includes more gourmet Italian and Greek dishes alongside those classic overstuffed sandwiches and a full breakfast menu. read more

VERY BAD MANAGEMENT! When I received my food there were several short curly hairs resting on the top of my cheese on my tuna melt. I totally lost my appetite after seeing this! I never took one bite. I immediately notified my waitress and she took the meal away. When I got to the register to pay for the other items we ordered the meal with the hair in it was still on the bill. I notified them and they refused to take it off the bill . They didnt even apologize and were VERY rude and unreasonable told me not to come back. VERY BAD MANAGMENT!!! read more

Diner is standard fare. I have had great meals here and some mediocre meals here. Our most recent trip was this past Monday. I got the Greek Salad with chicken. It was good but I wish that the lettuce was a little more green than just the yellow parts. My wife and I had to return our iced teas because they tasted off. Two weeks ago when I ate here the iced tea was great. I have eaten here breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfasts are always good. Lunch and dinner can be hit or miss. Overall though it is a solid NJ diner. read more

Good food, friendly service. One of the "go to" diners in the area. I like breakfast the best, as their omelets are good, and one can easily substitute sides. Well done. read more

I ordered chicken and waffles. The chicken was cooked perfect. Was a quiet night when we went and our server was very nice. Food too long to come out but overall we would go back. read more

On a road trip from Michigan to New York. I'm an extremely picky eater and I love this diner. It's got a large menu and the chief is accommodating! read more

Averaging my review. This would have been two stars and the last time would have been 4 so this review, I'll make it a 3. Went on Xmas eve. We called. They said they were open until 10. We went around 9. The guy gave us the dirtiest look. Sorry. Yes, I know it was Xmas eve but YOU were the ones that said you were open. If you didn't want any customers than you should have closed earlier. The food is okay. The food at this place is definitely better now than it was years ago. We used to go a long time ago and the food was horrid. Much better now. However, the hospitality was not showing. read more

New to the area so we wanted to try out this diner. I had the Lemon Greek Chicken, they give you the smallest pieces of chicken that has all bones (more bones than meat) it tasted most of oregano with no taste of lemon at all. my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs, his 2 huge meatballs were raw in the middle, sauce was way to sweet. Didn't really care for the decor, mirrors on the wall and when you look into them you can see people behind you eating or staring at you. Our waitress was nice enough but I'm guessing game she was new, when we ordered she asked me what came with my meal (and proceeded to.ask me where it was on the menu). Just wasn't a place we'd want to eat at again. read more

Fair. I didn't like the oil they used to cook my eggs and my husbands French toast. I

Decent enough diner but the location stinks, you have to drive around for a u-turn on 15 and it's a busy road so that can add a lot of time to your trip. Food is solid but nothing spectacular, service was pretty good. Can't really complain. read more

Saw the great reviews and decided to stop in. There is a page of cocktails on the menu, so I chose one. A Grey Goose Martini with pineapple juice. Couldn't taste the vodka at all. Watered down I suspect. Worse the juice tasted a bit off so I left it as it wasn't good. I guess that's what I get for ordering a cocktail at a diner. read more

I have a fear of diners and this is the only diner I'll step foot in. Staff is always polite and they even ask if you want your bacon crispy or floppy (I hate crispy bacon). read more

Great place to meet and eat. Awesome service great food The best in town . You'll enjoy yourself. Enjoy outdoor dining with a cool cocktail

There are much better diners in the area. Skip this one for lack of good service and food.

It was OK. Took long to get our food (table of 6). But the place was busy. I had a BLT on rye, it was good.

How a diner that's been in business for however long they've been around can't CORRECTLY cook hashbrowns or two eggs over easy is beyond me. Friendly waitress, but the hashbrowns were not browns at all, they were shredded mashed potatoes essentially. The eggs over easy were basically raw underneath. Sad when a NJ diner can't cool breakfast well. read more

Great food and service! The waitresses and waiters provide great and fast services. They were polite and knowledgeable with their menu. I recommend anyone to try Townsquare Diner. read more

I've been to about 20 diners in NJ/NY/etc. This isn't the worst, but it's not nearly the best. Their eggs (which is what I tend to order in diners) are spongy and relatively tasteless. The place is clean though and the staff is nice. But their eggs, man... sponges. My wife ordered steamed vegetables and they were clearly just a freezer pack that had been reheated. Which makes sense, I guess, because it's a diner and most people don't order steamed vegetables there. read more

Always enjoy the breakfasts here, service is good, I don't like the home-fries, but I a real picky about that and coffee. Coffee is pretty good. I have been here over a dozen times. read more

Staff seemed untrained. Food was lacking. We ordered mozzarella sticks that came warm on a bed of brown gooey lettuce. My wife ordered an omelet with fries and toast. The omelet was over cooked, the toast was more like butter bread and the fries were soggy. I ordered the Kota panini it was not pressed or toasted enough, soggy, overstuffed. Other then decent prices and clean dining area this diner was very disappointing. read more

Always love their soup! Service is decent and everything here is reasonably priced. One of the better diners in the area for sure

Lived in nearby Denville for 23 yrs, but never made it here before. A great find. Neat clean, and very efficient. Our breakfast was perfectly prepared, and solid service made for a great experience. read more
