One of the worst run businesses in Chico. They do not stand behind their installers and are openly hostile to finding resolution. I would strongly recommend avoiding doing business with them. read more

Very friendly and helpful salesman, Tyler, and installer, Sam. I love the flooring I picked and it was installed very nicely, looks great!

Towne is literally the worst business we have ever had the displeasure of working with. To say we are unhappy with our flooring install experience would be an understatement. We had the Mannington AduraMax in Gunstock installed. This flooring DENTS. The installer dented new planks moving our fridge back. He had to rip them out but missed a couple that we noticed later that night, so he had to come back out and redo it again. Guess what? The floor dented again when moving our fridge back. My husband had the idea to lay another layer of the same plank (that was damaged previously) over the flooring to protect it against denting...it didn't work! It dented right through the layer on top. After being ripped out and fixed AGAIN, they layered our old laminate over the flooring when moving the fridge...it didn't dent underneath. For some reason, our old low quality laminate doesn't dent, but this stuff does. The manager claims this is standard for LVP after my husband complained, but no one disclosed this to us. It was touted as top of the line, waterproof, scratch resistant...but no one said it dents easily. Also, we know people with LVP and none of them have had this issue. The floor is also "bouncy" in several areas. We were assured by the installer and two different people at Towne that it is normal and would settle, but it hasn't. When my husband complained to the installer again when he came to fix the denting, he said that our floor wasn't level...yet he told us before installing that nothing needed to be done and he was going to start laying the plank! So which is it? Is our floor level or not level? And if it wasn't level that should have been mentioned and corrected prior to the floor being installed. My husband called Towne and talked to the manager, who came and looked at our floor. He had the installer come AGAIN to level a spot on the floor, but it didn't help because there are multiple spots that need to be leveled. But that's not all! The installer didn't put silicone along the walls that border the outside, which is what we had before. My husband told him we would like it done because it was there when the old laminate was ripped out. The installer insisted there was no need for it and he's never seen that before. We wound up having bugs coming in that way, specifically an army of ants. We have NEVER had that issue before, so clearly it was because he didn't put the silicone back along the walls. He also cut one of our baseboards despite it being the perfect size, so now the baseboard has a cut in it, there were scratches and scuff marks that wouldn't come out and needed to be fixed, and my husband had to help move appliances when we PAID for it to be done. We were told verbally that there is a two year warranty on the install. My husband asked to get that in writing. He was told that it is in the contract. My husband looked...it's not in the contract. He asked again to get it in writing, to which they told us verbally that there's a two year warranty. For some reason, they really don't want us to have proof that there's a two year warranty! Our floor still isn't fixed. We want a discount and to be over this whole situation, but they want to redo our floor, which means more time out of our lives and having to move heavy furniture that was a struggle to move the first time around. We have a very heavy piano and cabinet that we were barely able to move the first time around. The other option was a $200 discount to keep it as is, which is insulting for everything we've had to deal with. Even if they come out and redo the flooring, we deserve more than $200 off for everything we've had to put up with! To make matters worse, Towne never checked in to make sure we were happy with any of the fixes. They just sent us the bill in the mail. Now they are threatening to take us to collections. Horrible company. Go anywhere else. Update: They came again. Ripped the floor up again. Still did not fix the problem. We are sick of wasting our time with these people. Only $460 off our total bill for their incompetence and flooring that still is not level and has squishy spots all over. read more

The salesperson was super easy to work with and the carpet we chose ended up being the perfect color and feel! I will be going back there when I'm ready to do my wood floors! The installation took one day and it look beautiful. read more

Friendly service, nice facility, no call/no show. I recently purchased a home with carpeting in need of replacement. Towne Carpet stood out to me not only because of its close proximity to my home and good storefront exposure, but also because of its mostly favorable reviews. Towne Carpet is located right off the 99 freeway on E. 20th St, across from Sierra Nevada Brewery. It has a large, new sign which is easy to spot from the road. The property management company I used to work for had used Towne for their rentals so I knew it was known to be a reputable source. I was assisted by Cameron (or 'Dean' as he went by) and felt that he was both helpful and knowledgeable. Contrary to other local companies I had checked out, Dean took the time to explain the different grades of carpeting and flooring which helped immensely. When he offered to come out and measure same-day, I was thrilled and was able to move my work meetings around to accommodate it. Dean called 15 minutes before the appointment, stating he was on his way and would be at my home shortly. 15 minutes went by, nothing. That turned into an hour, then two hours. At this point, the business had closed for the day so it was too late to call and inquire. I'll admit that it was disappointing having to wait for a (local) vendor, just to be stiffed - especially given that he had placed a courtesy call mere minutes prior. Nobody likes their time wasted. While Dean seemed like a nice guy, this poor act of customer service will prevent me from patronizing them or recommending their company to you. read more

I was very pleased with the assistance I was given when researching to replace flooring in my bathroom. Every step of the process was well managed, and the information correct. An installer came and installed the floor. Shortly afterwards I began travelling and noticed a discrepancy between my installed floor and those I saw in the hotels I visited. Caulking was evident at the base of the bathrubs in the hotel rooms. The caulking was incomplete in my bathroom. Upon my return, I notified the salesperson I used and sent pictures. I did this about 3 times and never received an answer. I sent the same email and pictures to the store manager and still had no response. I do not feel this is an acceptable business practice. read more

We picked out plank flooring for our home from Towne floors with the sales person and Penny. They had a "gentleman " ( for lack of a better word)named Tom flooring contractor , put the 2400sq ft of flooring that we bought from Towne Install it. The contractor installed the planks then stopped when he noticed a defect in the product from Towne . Towne had to replace the flooring with another product 4 months later ! This flooring is buckling everywhere after six months after the install . Penny and Towm and the installer refuse to fix it . A third party Insuranse company said it was the product and the installer error. Come on Towne do the right thing. Jim leonis read more

The first review is for hiring Towne to replace flooring in two restrooms at our office. They did a great job- the installer worked diligently with the plumber and our maintenance person and got everything done over a weekend. 4/5 stars no problem The 2nd review is for getting a quote for new blinds throughout our office. Penny came out and said we were to receive a quote via email. No emailed quote. We have called several times with no returned phone calls. We moved our business to Budget Blinds who came out, gave a quote on the spot- very professional and has kept in constant communication. Very disappointed. read more

Penny was fantastic! We worked with Penny over several months. Not only was Penny patient, personable, and knowledgeable, she provided guidance in how to negotiate some complexities with our insurance carrier and contractor. Highly recommend! read more

We are rebuilding in Paradise and I chose Towne Carpet to supply and install our flooring, after researching with their competitors. The reason I picked Towne Carpet was because of the excellent customer service Andrea provided. From the first time I talked to her she was proactive and made inquiries on my behalf instead of giving me home work. Our job was complicated as our manufactured home was not complete. Andrea came up to Paradise and measured for the job before there were steps. The flooring installation was smooth, the price was fair, and the care that Andrea showed all the way through the process was exceptional. Thank You Andrea. You made my life less complicated! read more

The staff was really attentive and friendly...enough for my bf to say "you should get on your yelp app and give them 5 stars!" . We needed a carpet match and the gentlemen working actually spent some time finding us a nearly perfect sample. We went to a few places that afternoon and this place had the best customer service. Literally everywhere else went something like "we don't have a color like that, sorry." And sent us on our way with no direction. Townes took the time to help us figure out a solution, despite not having a real perfect match... but hooked it up with a free sample pieces for our living room. Definitely returning and Going to recommend this flooring business to everyone I know who needs it. read more

the Gentleman was very nice at the store, when he came out to measure he was very rude and abrupt! the price was a Joke! they were almost $2000 higher than the company we went with . TY but NO Thank's! read more

Chris, of Towne Carpet, must be the most knowledgeable, flexible, flooring professional available. When the wood I had ordered had a problem, he was on the scene. When they put down my Berber carpet, he advised. When the specially chosen, amazing installers ! put down my rubber gym floor, Chris was right there. Dale, the owner, was fabulous. I highly recommend Towne Carpet. They are very careful about virus precautions. Others in Chico, not so much, a battle. TC IS EASY TO WORK WITH AND PUTS THE CUSTOMER FIRST! FABULOUS SELECTION. Towne Carpet is awesome. Henry is so wonderful in helping us meet our deadlines and being incredibly accommodating to tight time frames. Respectful, courteous service from all technicians. Highly recommended! read more

We had an excellent experience at Towne Carpet. Our salesman Chris was super responsive and knowledgeable. He was able to order the carpet we really wanted and they were very flexible with the installation dates. We had two different install crews come out on different dates and both were excellent. Very friendly, professional, and hard working. The result is virtually flawless. Our carpet looks and feels amazing. Don't mess with the big box stores, go see the local guys who get it done right. Thank you Towne Carpet!! read more

My experience at Towne Carpet was excellent. They were able to get us accommodated in the short amount of time we had to work with, despite being extremely booked. Camron was an awesome salesman and pleasant to work with. Tiffany very helpful and detailed. We look forward to returning to Towne Carpet for future services. read more

Our new carpet was installed while I was at work. I came home to find THE WORST carpet installation I've ever seen. There was a huge hump in the seam, there are gaps where the carpet meets the wall because it was cut too short, and they used tack strip where metal thresholds should be. I know the business as I worked installing carpet years ago. If you like bloody feet from stepping on tack strip and novice installation, Town Carpet is the one to call. read more

I walked in to Towne after looking around at 4 or so other carpet stores in town. Gary met us with great questions to get to know what would fit our needs. He explained carpet characteristics in such an easy way and answered all my stupid questions in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. We picked a few carpet samples to take home. He took my contact info and never contacted me to pressure me to buy. I loved that. The carpet installers (George & George, a father & son team) were punctual, clean, friendly, team-players, and worked until their job was done. I am 100% satisfied with my carpet selection and the installation is perfect. read more

If you want to step back into the early 80s be sure to come to town. They give you one price that's not broken down by room. Service was rude even though I purchased over $5,000 worth of carpet I had to move all the furniture myself. The installers were great but the sales people at Town.... I won't be back and I won't recommend them. Their billing is also handwritten. They're operating in the Stone Age! read more

Towne Carpet is the best place in Chico for all your flooring needs! The sales representatives are incredibly helpful and everyone is so friendly! The staff, and by "staff" I refer specifically to Penny, is terrible at Towne Carpet. For that reason, while I did find what I was looking for in their showroom, I will never attempt to do business with them again. Let me rewind -- went into the showroom and Penny was helping me out. I made an appointment with her about a week after that to come to my home to give me an estimate for flooring. When the appointment day came around, she never showed up. There was no call. Nothing. I waited for over an hour and then went down to Towne Carpet to return some flooring samples I had checked out (that I had hoped to go over with Penny). I told the man taking care of my samples that Penny never showed up to our appointment and he said Penny WAS IN THE BUILDING. He walked over to her and under his breath said "...missed this one." She walked over and said she forgot about the appointment and had been out of town. For a business that has supposedly been running for over 60 years, I expect better customer service. What a disappointment. Penny, you just lost Towne Carpet thousands of dollars in business. read more

Very disappointed with the service from Towne Carpet. We had our flooring installed 2 years ago and it took over 6 months for the flooring to finally be installed correctly. There were constant problems from the beginning; floor boards being cut too short, not being connected correctly, glue not holding, etc... After all of the problems, the floor settled and has been okay (not perfect by any means) and now 1.5 years later, it is gapping all over the place. After calling Towne Carpet, and them sending a Mannington rep come out to inspect my floor (only for him to tell me it wasn't the flooring material but the installation be the problem), Towne Carpet has still not resolved the issues. It has been 4 months since the Mannington Rep has been here and I've called several times and left a message for the manager, but still no contact has been made. My floor looks crappy and they have made no attempt to resolve the problem. read more
