I recently had my car's tires changed at this shop, and shortly afterward a new warning sign appeared on my dashboard that was not there before the service. They asked me to change the sensors which I did but the sign was still showing. I went to them continuously for 4 days where they would turn the light off but within 20 miles, it would turn on again. Afterwards, I was sent to a new dealer and they were asking 200$ for only checking. As an uber driver who's dependent on his car, I haven't been able to go out at all. Do not trust this place. They promised to fix a flat and then tried to get me to buy a new tire when I did not need one. I took the wheel off my car and brought it in to get a flat fixed. There was a temporary plug in the tread (repairable) area of the tire. The tire had plenty of life left in it to justify a repair and not getting it replaced. The person who took the wheel/tire in inspected it and said it could be patched (from the inside). He commented that the tread was still good and worth saving the tire. Less than an hour later I got a call from the shop that my tire was "unrepairable" and they wanted to sell me a new tire. When I went back to pick it up, the tire had never been removed from the wheel to attempt a repair and the manager who made the decision to not fix it and try and sell me a new tire was nowhere to be found. I immediately took the wheel/tire to another local shop where the service tech removed the tire and replaced the temporary plug with a patch from the inside of the tire. I've driven over 100 miles since the tire repair and no leak. It seems that Town Fair Tire (or at least this location in Bridgeport) is in the business of pushing new tires on customers when they do not need new tires. Buyer beware! read more

town fair tire in Fairfield a couple weeks ago I went in for a flat tire and left with all the oil falling out my car! there was no problem with the oil in my car before I went. they called me in the back to show me and there was a hole in the oil pan, said i must have went over something not true! they peirced it with something. they told me I could drive it home and I should not have. I took it to my mechanic and he said it was peirced with something and he said that driving like that could have cost me an engine. I had to pay my mechanic 1300 I am livid!! better believe I will be taking act against them. I have all my receipt. the tire receipt, I have the tow for my car when I bought it to the mechanic and the receipt for what I had to get fixed with the dates and everything and he also gave me the piece he had to fix I have that also I have everything I need to come after them because this should not have happened to me it was a careless mistake that could have been avoide. read more

Been buying tires from Town Fair for the past 30 years. Had a 11:30 appointment (made a day in advance)to repair a flat pull the spare and reinstall the repaired tire. 12:45 I noticed my truck on the monitor on the lift with the spare still on the vehicle. 5 to 6 techs standing idle,talking and joking. I went to the counter and asked how much longer and was rudely told it a hour and a half job. Got my vehicle back 2 hour later with a dirty paper mat, used disposable gloves on the console and my spare not placed in its storage location. I will never step foot in a Town Fair again. read more

If I could give this no stars, I would...my daughter had a slow leak in her tire last week, she brought it there and they refused to look for a nail, just said she needs a new tire (for 300 dollars) because her tire was bald and they won't repair a bald tire. Her car is new with very little miles so that was absolutely not true and I knew it. I got on the phone with him and said why won't you at least look to see if there is a nail? A few days ago my boyfriend & I bring our car in because we had a nail in one of our tires. well they came out, did an inspection & passed the tire for everything but spited the small nail. Brought our car to the back & within 15 mins the manager called my boyfriend up telling him that there now is a lump in the tire but he's claiming it was already there. (it wasn't, these were brand new tires). We ended up leaving & as were in the parking lot the man who actually did the work on the tire admitted that he caused the lump, because it wasn't avoidable. I then call the corporate number to complain because the manager is still saying it was already there even with the employee admitting. Well, i got offered a 50% off tire. I went to town fair tire on July 2 of 2022 and I bought two new tires each cost $98 plus the taxes the labor and the tire rotation it'll cost about $370. Fast forward to September there is a bubble on the side of the tire and because I did not pay $15 for the insurance and the 30 days had lapsed town fair tire did not stand behind your product and replaced my tire I did not go over a pothole I did not have an accident the bubble just appeared . So you mean to tell me you sell defective merchandise when a customer comes through the door and does not purchase insurance? because I didn't buy insurance you can't help me and you send me away or try to get me to spend another $122 on a brand new tire. With Covid and the economy the way it is town fair tire should have a little bit more consideration for their cash paying or just paying customers. And they should have extended me the courtesy of a new tire I now have to take the chance of transporting my kids in this car with a bubble in the tire because Telfair tire could not stand behind their product.. thirty days is not sufficient time on a warranty 3 to 6 months should be the appropriate time lapse. The lines can be an issue, but the staff is professional and courteous, and they always call back when your job is done (why is this a rarity in the car repair industry?). Their prices always seem cheaper than any unholy amalgam of TireRack-plus-the-guy-who-installs (or any local competitor), and they'll order something not in stock. Updated. I am satisfied with the follow up by Andres who was very helpful and understanding. Did a rescan and explained next steps as necessary. Went in when my tpms sensor kept coming on even though my tire pressures were within recommended range. They suggested replacing all the tmps sensors... in the week following, the low pressure warning would still come on so i took it back and they said they would inflate the tire and to drive it. After a few more days with the warning still coming in, i went back and they said, it is a computer program and to take it to the dealer. Wow. Never going back there. read more

After I wrote my story about what happened to my car the district manager called my wife, and spoke to her and he was very helpful and nice, that's what my wife said. I didn't speak to him due to I was still angry about what happened and when u are angry have someone else do the talking that's calm, So Town fair did reimburse me for half the price of the shocks which I feel was fair,they did a good thing for customer service. I was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of the staff. There was a little wait and the attendant, who happened to be the manager, Andres, gave us eye contact and apologized for the delay. As soon as he was finished with his customer, he approached us with a friendly smile and apologized again for the wait. He assessed our tire needs and gave us a few different options. He was courteous, professional and sensitive to our financial circumstances. We appreciated his efforts. I unfortunately needed to make an emergency stop to get new tires for the upcoming winter season. Was this an expense that I needed at the time? Not really. However, the service and care of the staff and their willingness to help a person on a budget was more than I could've asked for. While searching through the huge selection of tires, Jon was an amazing help explaining the quality and pricing of each brand of tire (given the fact I know nothing about tires). While finalizing my transaction, I was mortified to stand by and watch a customer make a complete fool of herself while also demeaning an employee, Justin, who was trying to help her. However, no matter how rude this vile woman was, he answered all of her questions in a professional manner. Came in for what appeared to be a slow leak. Had the tire replaced however was informed that the TPMS sensor also had to be replaced, but that they didnt have the part. The manager, Andres, told me "You're better off going to the dealership to have them do it". Why was a regular valve stem put in and the tire changed when it was clear additional service was needed? Long story short I bought the sensor and returned only to be told, "Like I told you theres no guarantee we can program it and we are going to charge you for re-balancing". I spent $130.00 on a new tire earlier in the day and now have to pay an additional fee when you didn't have the parts in stock? I've been here before and many of the employees are pleasant, but I will not return after today's visit and will take my business elsewhere. read more

Thank goodness for Town Fair Tire! I hit a pot hole coming off the highway on Monday and needed a new tire. I purchased a new rear right tire. I had to return today because my car felt unsteady. Little did I know I need a tire rotation and another new rear left tire as well. Ricky D who worked at the front desk listened to all of my needs and concerns. He didn't pressure me into purchasing anything un-needed. The manager who was working in the back explained I had two bent rims and he rotated them to the best of his ability. All of the staff on shift were respectful even though there was a line out of the door because it was the first snow fall of the season. I would purchase tires from this location before any other. I left and went to work while the job was done. I was called when it was finished and was reassured that I didn't have to rush to pick up the vehicle until they closed. Worse place EVER! My husband and I went in to this location to purchase 4 new tires on 2/26/2020 , we made our appointment the day before. When we arrived the two men at the front desk were assisting other clients. After one Of them got done with one of the client, my husband and I approached the front desk the young man there completely ignored us like we are ghost, he was moving back and forth , never once made eye contact with us and at least say "I be right with you guys" nothing! I said to my husband let's go because I guess we a beggars and we not spending money like everyone else. I had originally had a problem at Town Fair Tires getting sent to the correct shop for my 1990 Chevy Dually with rear wheel drive and 8' bed and extended cab. I had gone twice to The Bridgeport location. Well after the second time O was turned away telling me my truck was to big and they cannot get It aligned I called customer service to explain what had happened. I got to talk to The manager Richard Allen. He was 100% great to deal with and told me he would figure it out. After about Ten minutes he said that the Hawley Lane Stratford location and the Derby location both handle certain size trucks. He fit me into the schedule and I got my tires and alignment done. I really appreciate it Richard thank you! That is Bpt store manager had to do is call to figure this out. Let's start by saying if I could post zero stars for this company that's what my rating would be. I brought a rim and tire for my trailer and asked them to get me the same rim and tire so I could use it as a spare. I arrived the next day to pick up the rim and tire combination and the rim was completely different than what I brought in. My rim was white, this one was galvanized. My rim had circle cut outs, this one had triangles. Even so I took it so it could be used as spare. When I got home the tire was completely different and it stood 1" shorter than the one I brought in. Long story short I contacted them about the tire they said bring the rim/tire back and we'll change out the tire for the correct one. So the next day I brought it back and they refused to put the correct tire on after they said they would. Then I said then I'll just return it and get my $154 cash back that I paid for it. They said we'll send you a check in a couple of weeks. They made the mistake ordering the incorrect rim and tire even though I physically brought one of my rims and tires into the store so they could see what was needed. Then they said they'd give me the correct tire on the incorrect rim and then said they wouldn't do it. Then they're going to hold onto my $154 cash for 2 weeks after they screwed up multiple times and refused to correct it. I have used Town Fair as has my family for years. I was going to get new rims and tires for my F150 from them but now I will never purchase anything from this company again. On top of it all the store manager was yelling at me and talking over me as I tried to work something out with them at the front counter with at least 15 customers in the store ... Went in for tires today (3/4/17) which I had been dreading. The front desk reps were very courteous and acknowledge your presence for waiting. The rep that helped me really took the time to explain in detail the tire differences, prices, & what would best for my car, although the final decision is mine. I later found out the rep 'Andres' was the store manager. He represented Town Fair very well and I really appreciated him for making the experience easier than I expected. Made an appointment for 10 am on a Friday. Arrived promptly at 950. They told me prior to making the appointment it would take no longer than 25 minutes and that I would be in and out. I get there, there are about 7 people ahead of me. None of which made appointments. It is now 11 and no one has touched my car. What is the point of making an appointment if they do not honor that time? Why tell a customer it will take 20 minutes when it takes over an hour! You've now fucked up my entire day. I'm going to be late for work. Had they at least been honest about wait time, I could have scheduled an earlier appointment. Disgusted with this place. On top of hat, the man assisting me at the counter Chris, had me wait 15 minutes before attending to me because he was on the phone with a customer: totally fine. But then, when it does become my turn for him to attend to my paperwork etc, it's okay for him to answer the phone and have a 20 minutes convo with customer about God knows what! This is my first time going here. They had this match the price deal which I initially thought was good especially since they were offering for a little lesser cost. When I brought my car in, I found out that the price they quoted me didn't include the wheel alignment. And I had to pay an extra $40 for it.
