Had a new tire put on. A week later it started losing air. When I went back to have it looked at they said it was leaking from the plug. When I told them I bought it there new they denied they sold it to me. Watch them very carefully if you have a new tire installed. Not to be trusted!! read more

01/08/2026 while rotaing my tires at home I noticed a variation in the wear pattern front vs rear. I rotate every 5k at home. Off to Professional Tire I went with my 2001 Buick Park Ave. After a brief discussion they pulled my car in and went to work. Alignment out of spec. Printout showed the current status. I gave the go ahead and the alignment process started. A test drive followed after reworking the alignment and he came in with the new printout to verify all spec readings within tolerance. The service I ordered 08/11/2025 in Professional Tire Shelton Ct was to remove the 19 year-old tire from the rim and replace it with a brand new tire. The assumption cost $20, the balance $15 total $39.08. The mechanic inflated about 35 PSA. The next day I wanted to pump up to the required 60PSA using a small 12v compressor. At a pressure of 55 PSA the entire rubber valve fired from the rim. Imagine what would happen if it happened while driving. The position of the representative of profesional tires was as follows. Yesterday the valve was good so we did not change valve. Really.? The 19 year-old tire had good and safe valve? Each tire has a clear production date and a professional tire mechanic should replace the valve without my question. Failure to do so was absolutely irresponsible, and completely ignoring the customer's safety. Did I hear sorry?, no. I heard you pay $16,70 for the valve. We have been going to Professional Tire for over 20 years and recently brought my car in to be aligned. After picking up the car, it was still pulling to the left. I immediately went back & was told since I really needed new tires, the alignment really wouldn't work well. I asked why they didn't tell me this before doing the alignment, they said they didn't look at the tires prior to completing the alignment. Hmmmm, aren't they Professional TIRE? They then gave me a price for two brands of tires they recommended & said they would take the alignment cost off the price. Had they been upfront about this, I might have spent the extra on tires from them (supporting a local business vs a chain), but I feel as if I was duped. That's $85 I will never see again. read more

Quick, fair, easy. Shop is run by a few older gentlemen. Not from the area and I noticed my tire was popped early morning with dogs in the car. I drove to the shop and they explained what they could do for me and what the dealer could do for me. I arrived at 9am and was driving by 9:45am. I paid $35 to patch a large piece of metal on an SUV. The lot is large, has a fair amount of shade, and benches / chairs outside. Glad I found this spot. read more

Was in the area and had to bring a tire in to be repaired since there was a nail stuck in it causing air loss. I usually go to another chain tire shop, where there might be a bit of a wait if you are a walk-in, but they repair tires for 6 bucks. At least that's how much my last one was a few months ago, according to the receipt I still have. Went to this place since it was the closest to where I was spending the day so I brought the car in. It is obvious that the people who operate this shop clearly don't want to be there..you can actually hear the eye-roll in their voice when you dare have the gall to ask a question about a service YOU are hiring THEM to provide. The wait wasn't too long to get the tire fixed, but it was also TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS, yes FOUR TIMES what other shops charge to plug a tire!!! It's my bad for not thinking to ask beforehand, but it's also their bad for not disclosing upfront. Take your business elsewhere where you will be appreciated and given the basic decencies and courtesies that any service business should provide. These folks should NOT be in the service industry - period. read more

I went here this morning because I had an issue with my tire. I was greeted by a nice gentleman (didn't get his name) then Shane came out to assess my tire and show me what was wrong. I needed a new one which I suspected. I was handed over to Al who went over pricing (very fair by the way!) with me and kept me company while they switched out my tire. They NEVER tried to upsell me and it was such a pleasant experience with every person. I think I found my new favorite car servicing establishment! read more

I posted a google reveiw and now have an update. The driver rear tire that I had mounted by them is completely f-ed. They cross threaded my lug. I am trying to rotate my tires, but the one lug they cross threaded is stuck in the hub just spinning. The threads were probably stripped halfway on the lug so it will not come out, and it will not tighten up.was a mechanic for 6 years. I can not mount tires at my house so I brought it here. I am so sorry that I did that. Now I have a complete f-in mess to try and fix this. Smiles and nice employee is not a good reason to give them a good reveiw. 90% of people going here prob never work on their own cars like myself so they would never know if the "professionals" at this dump actually did a good job. Take it from an actual mechanic who is now f-ed because of their incompetence, this place is trash. read more

Professional Tire flat repair that failed after a few hours. The repair man said, " this plug will last longer than the car, at the time of repair. The owner said he would do another fix for no charge. I felt that part of the intial charge should be refunded since I had to rearrange my schedule so they could properly complete the job. The owner became loud and angry at my request but finally said to the repairman to give me the $28.00 charge. Obviously this owner does not value his customers. On the positive side Al (an employee)was very helpful. Al should be running this business, he knows how to treat a customer. read more

The guys found a nail that has been causing a slow leak for months. Patched it and had it back to good as new in under a half hour. They were able to get me in without an appointment and at a very fair price. Great customer service as well. Once I need a new set of tires, I will be sure to give them a call. read more

Unbelievable!!! call to inquire about putting a tube in a tire an trying to ask if they stock said tube and get told "Now is not the time for these questions" WOW why not just ignore the ringing phone or answer stating I do NOT want your work or your money so go away!! I needed 4 tires and an alignment on my Chevy Silverado and dropped into Professional Tire. Professional Tire is a real live, old school, tire and alignment center. Nothing fancy, not much of show room but what they do have makes up for it: fast, competent professional service. The pricing was a good as any quote I'd received but I was in an out if 45 minutes. Best of all they didn't try to up-sell me on anything. I'll be back after this trip for some shocks. read more

I've been going to Professional Tire for over 15 years. They fit four new tires to my Mercedes today and it was a pleasure as usual. I'm an engineer, member of the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) since 1985, I race Porsche 911's (since 1981), and handle all automotive work without going to a car dealer / repair shop (since I was 16 years old). Professional tire cleans the bead surface of your aluminum wheels so they won't leak air as easily . I like the Starfire tires I had them put on my S15 pickup and my wifes Rav4 then I sent my daughter there too. I like there service and they actually align your steering not like that other place that just puts it up on the rack and you get your car back and the steering wheel is still crooked. read more

I found this place by accident. True it is old school, they are fast and good. They are very fair too. I have older suburu and they got me 4 good tires for around 400 bucks installed. Coopers are also good times and i believe american made. read more
