He gave me a couple of repair options and let me choose. He go the repair done on time, within his estimate. Was in CT for a 5-day visit. I contacted ACE during my trip on a Saturday morning, where business…read morehours were until 1pm. We were referred by friends who said ACE would take good care and resolve the issues with the truck. ACE owner (?) responded to say he was away on Saturday but could look at my truck Monday. We drove out to the shop that weekend to be sure we knew where it was. A small shop but plenty bays and a few cars on the lot. Looks like they may be a reseller for motorcycles or sell used cars/motorcycles also? The problem reported was that my truck would stutter between 40-50mph, then 60-70mph only on an incline. As much as this was a pain in the neck issue with driving al the backroads at those lower speeds, I felt that waiting a couple more days was ok. On Monday AM, I called ACE and asked what time to come in to have the truck looked at. Making a long story short, the owner said he could not take time to look at my truck as he was already busy. I asked then why he said he could help. He just repeated to say he could not take time to help. All he needed to do was take a road test of the truck and see if it was a simple issue, that's all we asked him to do. He continued to say no and if we were his regular customer, he would help. It's unfortunate that ACE could not at least assess what could be. Or, if he could not assist and knew it Saturday, then just say that Saturday. I wasted time waiting and could have gone elsewhere. If ACE had looked at the truck, he would have found out that the number 6 coil needed replacing. Could have made some money and kept a positive review with the business.

I also felt that some of the business practices were unfair and not handled transparently. Customers should be given clear information, reasonable explanations, and the opportunity to understand charges before decisions are made. The customer service made the situation even more frustrating. Instead of feeling like my concerns were being addressed, I felt dismissed and left to repeatedly follow up for basic information. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop. Better communication, transparency, and respect for customers would go a long way.

No where in the fine print states that there would be any additional charges with the exception being if they needed to add additional oil. This is a bait and switch scam. The worker blamed Groupon. I don't think that's the case, I've used Groupon several times for oil changes in the past and never ran into this issue. I paid for the Groupon on the app and that was it. This (and probably all) Monro is basically using Groupon as advertisement to lure people in with a deal and change it after they've already paid most of it. $20+ for an "environmental fees" for an oil change. C'mon. When do you get charged that anywhere else?
