I wish I saw these reviews before I went to Falbo's. I went in for an oil change and repair a tire I had a nail in. He called me and said I needed $2,981.35 in repairs. I only have 14,000 on it 2021 car. He told me whoever owned it didn't take care of it. Needed flushes, all new brakes, clean fuel injectors, coolant flush, sludge build up, transmission oil exchange, clean fuel injectors, tune up. Remove and replace spark plugs. ...and other things. This is the most disgusting company I've ever come across. My wife brought in our car for brake pads and rotors. They quoted us $3300 to do it and told us it was all necessary. I would recommend this business for an emissions inspection. They were efficient and polite. They also fit me in for an oil change. The oil change was 49.95. They also did an engine flush as we were way overdue for an oil change. That was $89. HOWEVER- for other work they charge a diagnostic charge of $98. It is clearly posted on their cost board. I know better. So, I moved pretty far away from my trusted mechanic. I figured I could save some time and most likely end up paying a bit more than I normally would going to falbos. I went in to have 2 outer tie rods replaced, which would have cost me a couple hundred dollars. Instead I got talked into replacing the rack and pinion on my more than 14 year old car. Against my better judgement, I said fine. I honestly shouldn't have done it. And writing "bad" reviews is something I think very carefully about. But a few things stick out to me about my experience that I feel I should share. So, while I was on the phone with the owner, he mentioned the price of the rack and pinion was about $400. To be fair, the price of a remanufactured rack and pinion, at retail, is far below $400. So they overcharged for parts. Just before it was time to pick up my car, another call from Kol, trying to tell me something else was wrong... thanks, but no thanks. You got me once, I'm not that stupid. And it kept going, he tried to get me for as much as he could, asking if I wanted my oil change. My sticker says I have about 2000 more miles left until my next oil change. Finally, I arrive to pick up my car that I spend about $700 more than I was expecting to pay, conservatively. Doesn't even come out, to show me the old parts or go over any work he did. This is not the original Falbo's. The new guy, Cole is a real player. Smooth talker and a salesman. I asked them to look at my 2003 Dodge Durango and give me a price for repairs. This very same Durango was serviced by them last year and it came back with many problems unresolved. I had paid them $1300 and it came back with issues. I was weary about going back but thought I'd try them again. Not only did he give me a $6000 repair estimate for a transmission and 2 axels but then they charged a $300 fee just to look at it. I never signed anything, nor was I made aware of a fee and given an estimate for the "inspection fee!" This should have been communicated right up front!! In all my experience I have NEVER had a mechanic change a fee to look at my vehicle in order to generate an estimate to repair. I won't pay $300 just to have my truck looked at. What a scam. Always use this place for emissions and get fast courteous service. Last time I was there they even reset my cars "service due" light at no charge for me since I did the service myself. This requires a computer connection which I don't have the ability to do. Growing up with a dad who owned a successful auto body shop, I know an organized professional shop when I see it. Tried to work with these rip off artists on a simple repair they could not get right. They told me to bring back on a Friday and they fix on Saturday. When I went to see if they were done they were rude and said it might get done on Monday. I had enough and did repair myself they had my money and did not care. Falbo's, which recently changed in ownership - got lucky to sell to such an awesome group. The new owners and team are amazing. I drove all the way from N.C. to CT to visit my family and during the drive I must have popped over a nail. It was at an hour before they closed I had called to see if they had an opening and they took me without an appointment. Fixed it in 10-15 minutes. I did one star because 0 stars wasn't an option. My Mother-in-law has been going to Falbo's for many years and they sold her a used car 4 years ago. She is 88 years old and every time she went they charged her a ridiculous amount for repairs. Treated her respectfully and said they were taking care of her. But she put enough into the car to have paid for a new one. Recently a light came on. They towed her car and told her the engine could blow up any minute and it would cost $4K to repair. Tried to sell her another used car, but demanded CASH. We got involved and had the car taken to a different service station. The oil and tire lights were on. When we called to tell them the car would towed elsewhere the wanted to charge her a ridiculous amount for towing her car there, and a daily storage fee, when they hadn't contacted until the 3rd day they had the car, and a diagnostic fee. The engine was totally fine. They had nothing to repair for her. A little rust, but totally safe to drive. She is now driving her car again. No charge. The new place said she'd been taken advantage enough. We will not allow her to go to Falbo's ever again. read more

Falbos replaced my heater core in August on my f150...2 months later it developed a leak due to defect in ford made part...took it back to falbos ...they replaced the heater core again for me and got my f150 back to me in one day.(no charge of course).I am very pleased in their professional manners and a nice clean garage...a nice friendly local garage is nice to have around...I would recommend them anytime to handle your auto work read more

They did a great job and only charged me the labor hours that it took them to fix and not the labor hours stated by the book. So I was able to save some money. read more

These guys were great with addressing an issue with a manufacturing defect on the alternator. No hassle replacement and very courteous customer service. My car was towed, replaced alternator and battery. My car is running well and so far no complaints about the workmanship. However they definitely need rate adjustments. Per phone conversation in town discount towing and savings on the price of the alternator. At just under $900.00 it certainly doesn't feel like it. However, considering the nature of the beast, I've seen worse. My advice would be to give more detail about options available to the customer. Great job guys...thanks. read more

The gas there is very expensive, but other than that, I thoroughly enjoy taking my car here. The owner's wife, I believe, usually answers the phone and she is really sweet and is very proficient at scheduling and accommodating customer's needs. Never had a problem with Falbo himself. He's a bit gruff, but he does honest, good work and charges a moderate amount for this area. Plus, he's one of the only places I know of that actually hires teenage boys in the area as gas attendants, so one has to figure that he's giving back to the community in that way, not to mention he has this mannequin that he and/or his wife dress up and put outside occasionally, especially in October for Seymour Pink (breast cancer awareness month), and sometimes I drive by just to get a laugh from the mannequin! read more

This place is a scam. My grandmother brought her car here without asking me first. They charged her $200 to plug a code reader into her car and then charged her an hour for labor! This takes less than 10 seconds! They also lied to her about the diagnostics saying she had a HUGE e-Vap leak while it was only a small one. ( I have my own code reader therefore I was able to check ) They also told her she needs a new axle! There is nothing wrong with her axle. Stay away from this place! read more

I have gone to Falbo's for emissions testing and have always been impressed with the convenience and service. Recently, my car began overheating while stuck on in traffic. I was panicking and called Falbo's to ask them what to do. Kol talked me through what I should do to get the car there. I got there an hour before they closed. They found the problem, ordered the necessary part, and had the car fixed at a reasonable price within 24 hours. Let me just say that these guys deserve a better rating on this Yelp app/site aside from Google reviews. We stopped there on May 27 2016 just at the crack of 5pm, the Friday beginning of Memorial Day weekend. We were on our way to Foxwoods Casino to see a Muay Thai fight and my bf just had new wheels and front tires installed and noticed that one of his tires kept leaking. Anyway, after the interventions we have done we decided to stop somewhere to have them check the tire and possibly fix it if need be because we still had a few more miles to go before getting to our destination. We pulled up and Cole comes out and even though they were all busy, he stopped to help figure out what could possibly be wrong. He and another guy removed one tire and even checked for any leaks and didn't find any and put the tire back on and never charged us a dime! I tried to offer them but they refused. They were just as humble as anything. They deserve all the credit they get for helping out. We weren't from the area and stopped at other tire places that were closed but at 5pm they refused to say no to us and did what they could and did not charge us at all! I recently had some work done to my vehicle at Falbos... I have to say it's the first time I ever left a garage/ Auto repair shop feeling good about the money I spent and confident in the repairs being done.... Kol was the mechanic that performed the work on my vehicle and one of the owners as well, I dropped my car off the night before leaving keys and instruction with the gas attendant ( it was after hours) I received a call first thing in the morning after he test drove my car giving me information on what the noise was and what needed to be fixed as well as keeping me in the loop of prices of parts etc... as he was working on my car he also send pictures to my cell phone of what needed to be fixed... that in itself was great! I knew the pictures were my vehicle. Everything I asked him to look at he did and he was not pushy like other mechanic. I really am pleased with the work that was done, and done right. I feel like there actually is a few honest/ trust worthy mechanics out there... at lest at Falbo's there is :) read more
