I had to get tires....and the ones I had were so bad I could see the white fibers. I went to "Tires and Wheels" cause my Aunt recommended them to me. Let me tell you.....they are totally AWESOME!!!! The owner of the business treated me like gold....I couldn't of asked for more. Her name is Kelly. If your needing tires give "Tires and Wheels" a try.....you will not be sorry you did. I also want to point out that I usually go to Towne Fair Tire in Stratford. They quoted a price of $289. Came here a few times and every time the workers are very friendly and helpful. They show you everything you need to know and give some good advice. *** Tires and Wheels that was formerly on North Avenue has moved and is now located at the corner of Madison Ave and Lincoln Ave in Bridgeport. They are called Tires and Wheels II. I was recommended to Fred's shop about 6 or 7 years ago and I purchased my first set of tires for a 99 Lexus from him. He was knowledgeable and had great prices. He also gave me instructions what to do for the next season as far as making sure the tires where filled properly. I was disappointed when I drove by their old North Ave location and found it closed a couple of months ago. But I asked enough people and found out that they had just moved. I replaced my 2016 Outback tires today and was thrilled at how great the ride felt and how reasonably priced they were. Go see Fred at the new location. The staff were really nice and friendly, I was really surprised by the price though - it cost $80 for a tire rotation and a patch in one tire that I had a nail in which doesn't seem in line with all the other reviews of this place having great prices - wasn't given a breakdown of the price so not sure of the individual costs - maybe 30 for the patch and 50 for the rotation? He appears rough around the edges and moves fast, but he knows his stuff and is a very fair guy. He has a solution for your need and he's not looking to rip you off. Good people. read more

My son's car needed an wheel alignment and I called them for an appointment. They told me no appointment needed just come over. We took the car and it was brought in right away. No waiting. While in their waiting room a customer came to see if his car was done. Customer had just dropped the car off and was just around the corner. Manager told him " we didn't do the work. I wasn't going to rob you" his car had other mechanical issue and wheel alignment would've been unless. Also, another customer came in looking for specific parts he didn't have in stock. He went above and beyond calling 3 -4 places to get him the parts. Because of the price he gave the customer, I'm sure there wasn't a lot of profit. While I was there he helped 2 other customers over the phone and he gave them some solid advice. Manager was really honest with customers and gave us a good price. Will defenetly recomend them and I am going back to have my truck tires mounted and get a wheel alignment. P.S. somebody mentioned their outdated waiting room. This is a wheel alignment and tire place. You don't go there for the decor. We were in and out so fast, decor doesn't matter. I'm sure they get busy on weekends but you get a fair price. Go to a fancier place with better decor and you'll pay for it. read more

Beware of this place. Gave my car in for a simple tire swap. The owner gave my car to another customer to drive and go to the bank when I wasn't there. I ended up seeing it while I was in another store a mile away. Beware of these guys. They are shady and do shady business. There was no need for them to take my car anyway especially since they didn't even do the job. Owner told me to go to ---- myself when I asked him why I saw my car on the street. Never go here!! I went to Tires and Wheels on recommendation from a friend and was NOT disappointed. Frank did a good job of explaining everything and hooked me up with balance and alignment (plus install) for an excellent price. I showed up at 8:30am one Friday morning and was out of there within 30 - 40 minutes. They did an excellent job. In fact, my only complaint is that they don't dress the tires (tire shine) before you leave - but for such a good price, I think I can afford to put my own tire shine on..lol.. Regarding their availability they stated they opened at 8:30. I showed up at around 9:15 for a tire rotation and still wasn't being tended to as no one except for the receptionist was present. I then waited until one of the workers showed up who was nothing short of disinterested to help. I then asked if I could also get a full replacement on lugs for my tires, he didn't pay my request any mind and continued to rotate my tires. As I end up leaving I notice my car driving relatively rough and a noise was emitting from my car as I continued to drive. Time goes by and realize that the man didn't even fasten the driver side rear tires! Unbelievable, a waste of time and money. read more

I bought 2 used tires for the rear on last Saturday. In less then 24 hours had a flat tire. Brought the car to a dealership Monday morning for an oil change in which they did an all around inspection. The 2 tires failed inspection. Called the place and asked if we can swap them out and pay the difference for 2 brand new tires and the guy refused. VERY disappointed! I understand getting used tires you take a chance but come on! The car is for my 16 year old son for Xmas. It is NOT be driven at the moment and parked at my parents house. And for the tire to go flat AND fail inspection and won't take the tires and allow me to pay the difference for new ones? I'm furious! NOT a good way to do business! read more

This location is really quite something. You won't get you standard customer service here. Frank (owner I believe is) usually if not always there. He has a rough exterior so to say and a lot of testosterone but he is a great guy. The team here works very fast and their pricing is amazing. I went to pep boys first looking to get two tires and they wanted almost 300 for two tires (alignment and some other fees I didn't quite understand) I said no thank you and came here. I got one tire (used but barely any wear on the tire) for 40. The car didn't need an alignment which I would've been excessively charged for at other places. I was taken care of and on the road in less than 30minutes. I've bought tires from this business before and when one of my tires popped I came back looking to buy a new one. Frank looked at it, saw it was still usable and told me he would patch it for free if I didn't mind a bit of a wait. Point is, it's a local business with direct owner interaction. I purchased what i thought was a new tire at a cheap price for my boat trailer, little did i realize it was used old tire that exploded in my face 2 weeks after i purchased it. The store owner did replace the blown tire with a newer tire after i paid additional money. Now my boat trailer's fender is shattered into little parts and luckly i just had some small scratches on my arm from the explosion. You get what you pay for, and if this tire blew out on the road my boat would have been destoryed, or if the plastic from the boat trailer hit my neck or head i could died. I purchased brand new tires from Tires and Wheels on April 28, 2015. On August 14, 2014 I had to have a wheel hub replaced, due to high torque pounds done by tires and wheels. The mechanic doing the repairs on my wheel hub could not remove my wheel locks because of the 180lbs torque, which is only suppose to be torqued at 100lbs. My mechanic took my truck to another shop who also tried and said its too tight and can not get the locks off. I called Tires and Wheels and told them what was happening and they told me they can get it off bring the truck to them. The same day my brother took the truck to tires and wheels and they also had a hard time and then proceeded to take a blow torch to my rim (which I have a photo of them doing so) to get the lock off and in the process ruined my factory rim. I also have a picture of the damage. A reputable business would never allow a repeat customer to take their vehicle off the lot with damages done by their business. After I cooled off over the weekend I remembered I had a factory rim on my spare tire under the truck and when I was going to switch the rims on August 17, 2015 found a non-factory rim on my spare! When I purchased my tires from them I had asked them to plug my spare which was flat and I believe that they kept my stock rim. I will also proceed with a complaint to repairs and dealers and contacting local news channels. read more
