I've been coming here since I started driving over 10 years ago. I've always felt at other auto repair shops the men look at me and think she knows nothing and overcharge me or just don't respect me. At burns, they always explain what is happening to me and I've had my tire repaired a number of times from running over nails or screws. I've lived in this town my whole life and I've never been to this place. Better late than never! This place is a life saver and so helpful! I took my car in today because there was a leak in the tire. I spoke to James about it and he said yeah we'll definitely take a look at it. The wait was no longer than 15-20 minutes. They are very professional and polite. They really look out for you because the service they provided was FREE of charge! It was to plug the hole in my tire and patch it up. I was really shocked. When the girl gave my keys back, she said you're all set. I was like what, wow! Thank you so much! Months back I happened to get a nail in my tire and stopped here to see if they could fix. They fixed my tire and did not charge anything since it was minor. If I went anywhere else they might have tried to sell me a new tire. Because of their commitment to me as a customer I came back and brought new tires from them. James at the front desk was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is so friendly, communicates well and is kind and patient with every person he interacts with as well as his co-worker which I did not get his name. These guys are great, long story short I had a tire blow out. Got a few quotes in the area which charged more. I then called these guys which in turn actually was able to get me all 4 brand new tires (extreme contact contis) in a short few hours and have them all installed in about 20-30 min. To top it off he gave me a spare tire to use for free just to get my car out of the lot where I was able to get it to just after the tire blew out. With this free tire I was able to drive out the lot and run some errands while my new tires came in, who does that? I'll come back here for any tire issues. read more

I had an issue with my valve stem, which got bent from an air hose at a gas station in Stratford and I was losing air. I purchased my tires from Town Fair but don't like the shop near my home. The Stratford Women's Group on Facebook had recommended them, so I pulled over to get the info and gave them a call. They took me right in and helped me. Have gone to Burns Tire for my snow tires as well as replacement tires for my car. Rich is a very nice guy, prices are reasonable, and they are usually pretty quick. I wish they had extended hours at least one day a week as I don't work close to the shop, so Saturday mornings are my only option. My father sent me to Burns a few years ago and Rich and his guys patched a flat for me on the spot. Since then I've been back for a new set of tires, balancing and various patch jobs. I even dropped in when my Jeep's rear tire had rusted on and they knocked it off for me at no charge. They've also checked potential problems for me at no charge. They go WAY above and beyond. Every time I've been there I've had a great experience and I can say the same for everyone in my family. Rich is always smiling and his employees seem to really like working there. I recently brought a car to them thinking we needed four new tires and Rich quickly brought it down to only one that actually needed replacing. This is the best place around. I got new tires there back in October...great experience and cheaper than Town Fair or any other major chain. Recently, I was having a slow leak in one of the tires...I went back there to see if there was anything that could be done. I was hopeful that it was something minor...but expected to have to pay to get a 3-month old tire fixed or replaced. They brought in my car...found a small nail in the tire...pulled it and fixed the tire....all in less than 10 minutes. Best part about it...the tech came in, explained that there was the nail, handed me my keys. And, in the end, they charged me NOTHING. Superior service...complete honesty...and you'll end up paying the same (or less) than all of the other big chain tire places. read more

I was coming here for years and was happy to find a local shop with good prices. The owner was always accommodating and friendly. Fast forward to the present and I don't know what happened??? The last two times I have called I have gotten the son (I think Jake?); both times for 4 tires that I had, to be mounted and balance and both quotes were $150!!! I used to pay $100 when I was dealing with the father. I even told him that I had been going to Burns for years and would hate to go to another shop, but he didn't care. I now go to a different shop. I am a firm advocate of going to small businesses whenever possible so some years ago when I needed a flat tire repaired, being from Stratford and close to the shop, I went in to get it fixed. Not much else I can say except years later I now drive all the way from fairfield to get ANY tire repairs done there ESPECIALLY if I need new tires, which I'm pretty sure they actually sell used as well. The owner Richard is a pleasure to deal with, as are his employees. The shop is clean and organized and very efficient, and he really knows his stuff. They even use a lift that lifts the whole car at once to expedite the process and torque the wheels to the perfect tightness, something a lot of larger stores don't even do. I would and do recommend these guys to everyone, and will continue to utilize their services until they don't exist. There's even a town fair tire right down the road from them as well as a few other tire places much closer to me and I still drive to Burns Tire. Thanks Rich! read more
