About to go in!

Always a great experience when I come here! The staff is friendly and thorough, the space is clean and well organized. The float is always amazing and healing! Came in 8 months pregnant this time and still had a powerful experience! Highly recommend, worth the drive (I came from Winter Garden). I brought a friend for her birthday and she also said it was one of the best experiences!

*Disclaimer: I am writing about my experience not on the place itself.* I used the blue LED light tub. Very interested experience. Found it hard to relax and become comfortable. Personally, if I didn't have a $10 coupon off I would of been annoyed at the $60 fee. Save your money and time. Customer service was very nice and welcoming. Overall: 4.5/10

Fantastic experience. The only one of it's kind in the Orlando area. I had just heard about sensory deprivation floating a few weeks ago and upon research, I knew I had to try it. I searched for locations in Orlando and this is the first spot that popped up. I went and booked a time and then that evening, I went to PechaKucha 20x20 - Orlando and one of the speakers mentioned it again. I knew it was going to be awesome. As a beginner, I do wish their website offered more info but I dug into their blog and found Floating Tips (http://www.orlandofloatation.com/blog/2014/2/20/floating-tips). I also did some research on my own. You are told not to have any caffeine at least 4 hours ahead of your appointment and eat a meal 1 hour before. Do not shave the day of either. These are tips they provide when you schedule your appointment. When I arrived for my session, I was a few minutes early and the location, while not much from outside, is very calm and relaxing inside. I grabbed their pamphlet "Beginner's Guide to Floating" and took a seat. Why don't you have this on your website, TZF?!?! This was awesome info! On the front a quote reads "Being in a float tank is like lying in a hammock... on the moon." On point! It does feel like this once you relax and drift. **Beginning Tips: - Book at least an hour and 1/2 for your first session so you have time to get acquainted and actually relax in the tank. - Bring shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair after. They have shampoo but that's it and your hair is going to be caked with salt if you do not wash it immediately. - If you don't like your bare feet touching the tile in the shower, bring flip flops. You shower before you get in and when you exit. - Use the restroom before you head into the tank. **What to expect: - You have your own room with a private shower. - They provide ear plugs. - It is an enclosed capsule and the water is body temperature so you can not tell where the water and where your body meet. - You go in completely naked. - You may exit the tank at anytime you want. - There is 850 lbs of epsom salt in the water, so don't worry about sinking, you WILL float. - Noise from the outside does not reach you so you won't hear anything but your breathing. - You can not do couples floats, that defeats the purpose, this is a solitary activity meant for you to experience total peace. - So clean!! The entire place was very welt kept and the water in the tanks are filtered 3 times, including a UV light filter, between each person. - Music will come on when your time is up, this helps bring you back to conscience in a subtle way. So your first experience, as I am told, is one to just get acquainted with the experience. I can see why, it's like an experience I have never went through before. It was very unique and special. After this first experience, I am completely am on board with sensory deprivation floating. However, I do believe the shock of everything to nothing is a bit much. I know it's been around for 50 years, but when you get in the tank, if the lights were on with some music and then everything faded so you could adjust accordingly, I think that would be less of a shock and allow for an easier transition. Also, since you float, you can feel your feet/hands touch the wall sometimes. If I was about to drift and touched the wall, I was awoken so not sure but I think a bit larger of a tank would be beneficial. But, it was only my first time so what do I know? I will report back after I try this some more. DO it, you know you want to experience something this cool! They have great packages and sometimes monthly specials, call to check.

What a strange and wonderful experience! Really enjoyed being in the flotation tank. It's amazing how much you actually float in this water. Total Zen uses medical grade Epsom salt to give you a super relaxing and extra buoyant water flotation session. It's a little intimidating, the thought of getting into a tank, laying there in the dark, and closing the cover on top of the tank. It's not a tub it's a tank, so it is quite large and spacious. Derek, one of the owners, guided me through the process and he knew the answers to all the strange questions I was going to ask. After my time floating, which was about 30 minutes because this is my first try, I left in a super relaxed and very comfortable state. My back felt better, my attitude felt much brighter too. This is a total relaxation experience I would highly recommend it!

Worst there is....no such thing as customer service. The facility is not clean. It is in disrepair. I agree with Robert's assessment. I'm going to attempt to post pictures. I came for my session. Soaking wet mat, falling ceiling tiles, and gunk coming out of vents. Then I found pubic hairs in the tank. That was it. I spoke to owner who had an attitude of I will refund only one session of a 3 pack...my husband and I both had a 3 pack. We only got a refund for one session out of 6. We came off Groupon and had one session and were told almost nothing for prep for the first session. ...Don't touch your eyes for instance. One towel, no goggles, not much for changing and cleaning up, and no slip guards out of the tank. If the health dept doesn't shut them down (and it should), the lack of customer service and money to maintain or repair the place will...sooner or later. PASS ON THIS PLACE AND GO ANYPLACE ELSE.

While this form is a good workout, it isn't for everyone at all times. For those interested in something reflective, more meditative, yet still provides excellent muscle training, Iyengar yoga is recommended. Problem: there are no Iyengar classes in Orlando. Just as good as Iyengar is Anusara yoga, a type of yoga developed by John Friend which takes from the Iyengar form and builds on its principles. I have visited many studios in N/NE Orlando. Most of the teachers at these studios have not been practicing long and have been teaching for less. This doesn't mean they aren't good teachers, it's just that with many years of experience comes wisdom and better teaching practices which equals a better more safe experience for you. I know a good teacher when I see one. I've practiced all kinds of yoga, been practicing for a while, and have taken classes with the best teachers in Los Angeles and San Francisco. I found Lake Center Yoga when I was looking for a teacher with many years of experience and someone who taught something other than power yoga. Sri Ekan and Nirgunavathi Ananda teach Anusara yoga at this studio. They have been practicing yoga for 36 and 31 years, respectively. (From what I've seen, the average length of practice for any teacher in Orlando has got to be ten years, if that.) I knew that this place was a gem after one visit. Sri Ekan's teaching style was casual without pretense or pedantry. I left the class feeling high as a kite and with knowledge that complemented my current practice. The studio itself is on the smaller side with a great view of a lake. The vibe is welcoming and laid back. The people were warm and friendly and of varying ages, ethnicity and build. Of note, there is a resident mascot, Honeybear, who has got to be one of the sweetest dogs I have ever encountered. I encourage everyone to give this hidden gem of a yoga studio a try. You will not be disappointed.

[Review Updated October 2025] -…read more Bodhi Om Yoga Studio in Orlando/Winter Park, Florida, offers the kind of small, welcoming classes that make yoga accessible to everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned practitioners and even folks who want to train as teachers. I've been practicing with Heidi (owner) since she opened the original Bodhi Om Yoga Studio back in Autumn 2023. I've taken over 300 classes since then, which still surprises me because when I first showed up, I wasn't a yoga person at all. I went in expecting yoga to be silly, but I knew I needed to move more and find some mental calm. Yoga worked. Now, I can't imagine my week without it. The Bodhi Om studio has a cozy, boutique feel that makes it easy to relax and actually enjoy being there. You see the same faces often enough that you start to know people's names, and it becomes its own little community. Most classes are taught by Heidi, who sets the tone with warmth and humor, but every instructor she brings on is just as talented and thoughtful. After hundreds of sessions, I honestly can't remember a single bad class. What I love most is how approachable yoga is. Even as a regular, I still think of myself as a beginner, and new students can jump right in without feeling out of place. The classes range from gentle yin and deep-stretch sessions to more energetic flows that'll get your heart rate up - but they all end with grounding relaxation. Many classes include meditation or sound baths with bowls, and you can choose whether you'd like essential oils or adjustments during poses. It's incredibly personalized; you can tell every detail was designed with care. The studio space itself is spotless and calming, with dim, relaxing lighting and great decor. There's ample parking, which is rare in Winter Park, and while the restroom is down the hall, that's really the only minor inconvenience. After several years of steady practice at Bodhi Om, I'm stronger, my posture is better, my lower back pain is gone, and I just feel more balanced. If you want an authentic yoga experience that feels personal and welcoming (not like a gym), Bodhi Om is the place. It's a studio where you can grow, breathe, and actually belong. NOTE: I'm a regular member at Bodhi Om Yoga Studio, NOT an employee or paid promoter. I'm sharing this review simply because the experience has meant a lot to me and I hope more people discover it, too.
