I started off taking the free classes offered on Saturdays in the square at Winter Park Village. I eventually signed up to take classes in studio. Patricia taught my class and let me tell you, these small incremental moves really do pack a punch. Days later my legs were still jello. She was so kind and was great a cueing. I love when an instructor isnt judgemental but is helpful and inspirational and she was all of those things. The women in class were nice. It seems like many of them have been going there snd are familiar with one another. After class a few women made it a point to talk to me and made me feel welcome. In May 2024, I attended an Open House beginners class (they have one of these every month), which is led by the owner Karen. They had an intro offer (at that time was 2 weeks unlimited for $49) with an additional $10 off if purchased that day, which is activated on the first day of use (whatever date you choose). Plus raffles! As of May 2025, their current promo is 1 month unlimited for $78. Officially became a member on July 2024. The Bar Method is the first and (so far) only place that has motivated me enough to stay consistent with a workout routine. Before choosing The Bar Method, my workout buddy and I had tried other Barre/Pilates places. What made me choose The Bar Method over the others to start: -the amazing promos and affordable pricing; have to be mindful with budgeting in this economy y'all (send me a message if you want a comparison chart LOL fr) -honest; transparency with pricing and information, unlike some others -flexibility; there is NO membership sign up fee, there is NO membership cancellation fee, there is NO minimum commitment, they allow membership freezing for up to 3 months (just let them know the month before) WITHOUT a freeze fee for 2 times a year, there is no penalty for class cancellation 2 HOURS before class starts (there IS a fee if you cancel after this window and/or if you no-show, but you can call before class to explain if there is an emergency and they are understanding in these cases), and you can come to class 10 minutes late max (DO NOT make a habit of this tho!! They had a sound bath event for members too that seemed interesting and every so often they do a free class for newbies. This was my first experience taking a barre class and I have been back 5 times since, it is ADDICTING and DIFFICULT. I lift heavy weights 4-5x a week, do yoga regularly, and this has my whole body shaking with no weights needed. I'm a ClassPass girly but they welcomed me with open arms the first day I walked in and have been SO SWEET and welcoming every single time I go. The instructors are kind to everyone, no matter what you look like or how in shape you are. The workout is balanced. I enjoy both the Bar Method class (60 min) and the Bar Method Express class (45 min). They never sit on one movement for too long but definitely give your muscles ample time to scream and shake. I look forward to coming here once or twice a week to supplement my workouts! read more

Tuck, tuck, tuck... Bar method, like food trucks, is one of those things I've been hearing about from my cool west coast friends for a while now, and hoping it would eventually migrate to our area. Honestly, the more food trucks we get, the more I need a workout like bar method. This is the second studio in our area, I believe, that specializes in the method, and the first that is part of the trademarked Bar Method™ chain that is the best known. I attended the second open-to-the-public class today and ABSOLUTELY got a workout. (I should mention that for this only being the second official class, the instruction was very polished and flowed well! Kendra gave great direction and coaching even when I wanted to collapse due to my burning quadriceps.) The one hour class goes through warmup, arm work, extensive core and lower body work, and cooldown. Much more of the focus is on strength than on cardio. The instructors will correct your form throughout the class, which I very much appreciate. Though I do yoga and pilates fairly regularly, I have no dance background at all, so many of the small moves that work the legs, glutes and core were unfamiliar to me and extremely challenging. The two studios are small but did not feel overcrowded, and the locker room is very nice, as well. My coworker asked me after the class if Winter Park Village patrons can see you working out and the answer is no if anyone else has this concern :) Pricing is something like $22/class, with a new student special for $100 the first month. Tip: bring socks (you can't practice without them, though they do sell them on site). read more

I had the opportunity to try out ClassPass for a month when they first came to Orlando. During my month trial I tried out classes at three different locations. The Bar Method Winter Park was BY FAR my favorite. Although I love yoga and will always do it, The Bar Method was just amazing to me. I used all three of my classes there (you can go to each location three times per month with ClassPass) and was itching to go back! I wasn't sure what I was going to think about it in the beginning, but it was the first class other than yoga that I left thinking "I HAVE to do that again!" I went to Bar Basics at The Bar Method Winter Park for my first two classes. I was warned that this class might be a little tough and they weren't kidding. But it was awesome! It worked every muscle and I left the class feeling energized. There are a lot of classes that I can't take because of my hip and knee problems, but in this class I was able to do everything during the hour long class. I came home sore, but I knew it was going to turn into that "good" kind of sore. I hate using weight machines at the gym and I think this class would be a great way to build and tone muscle. Within an hour of getting home from class I signed up to go back again next week. For my third class at The Bar Method Winter Park I went to the Friday evening Mixed Level class with Mimi. The class starts at 5:00 pm so I was able to go there straight from work which was great. I thought it was the perfect way to end the week and start the weekend. This class was A LOT harder than the Bar Basics class, but I loved every minute of it. This third class was really what sold me on The Bar Method. The teachers are so encouraging, nice, and help you make sure that you are doing everything right without making you feel like a big dummy. read more

As you know, I LOVE me some barre classes. I got the new client special - which is $69 for the unlimited monthly classes. Well first attempt here was an adventure. I almost threw up about halfway through the class and had to leave. #embarrassing. I guess taking 2 months off of working out was not the best idea. The staff was really nice. They gave me some apple juice and chocolate to get my blood sugar back up. In comparing the three Barre studios in Winter Park. The Bar Method is more on par with barre 54. They have the carpeted workout room. What's nice though is there are two rooms. So they can run two classes as once. They also have a shower if you need it. Interestingly, they do not have Sunday classes. Though there is a Bar Method studio in Dr. Phillips, you can't use your classes interchangeably between the studios. If you get the full membership you get up to 4 classes each month that you can use in Dr. P. but that's it. Despite only making it through half the class. I'm really sore today. My triceps and hamstrings mostly. Goal for next class: Make it through the whole thing! read more

When I walked in for my first class, they instantly recognized me as a newbie. It was either the "deer in headlights" look or the fact that my body was no where near as in shape as everyone else. They walked me around for a small tour of the facilities to get me acclimated. One of the instructors, Sarah, escorted me into the room and explained everything I would need to start. She was great throughout the entire class, making sure to explain each movement and provided lots of encouragement. I appreciated it so much! I've done classes with two other instructors as well and I'm glad to see they are all as great as Sarah. They make an effort to learn your name to help provide personalized instruction throughout each class. They offer a new client special - 30 days of unlimited classes for $69. I recommend starting out with a couple of Bar Basics classes (Saturdays and Mondays only), then trying out Mixed Level. I highly recommend this as a fun and challenging workout. I've been going for 2 weeks now and EVERY instructor has been fantastic-- they are all patient, kind, and knowledgeable. The studio is beautiful and the whole environment feels accepting-- a judgment-free zone! Your classmates and instructors are there to cheer you on and encourage you for making a positive life choice, not judge you for being a little heavier or out of shape. I tried out the Bar Method with a trial ClassPass and was VERY impressed with the staff and the facilities. The location is convenient and the facilities are beautiful. Everything was very clean and lockers were available for personal storage. I was very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the equipment. Everything felt so new and nice. The friendliness and service of the staff really blew me away. From the beginning, I was treated so nicely by the girl at the front desk. Since it was my first time, she walked me into the room, made sure I got appropriate weights and equipment and found a spot in class. The instructor, Mimi was great. She was very friendly and encouraging and was sure to walk around class in the beginning to introduce herself to anyone she had not met. She used names in the class, which was very impressive and cultivated a friendly, comfortable, "team" environment. The workout itself was killer and was comparable to all of the other barre classes in the area. I'm so glad I came to this studio in Winter Park Village. I had a poor experience at Pute Barre in Mills, so I was a bit nervous trying it again. I think the studio and instructor made all the difference! Even though the studio is smaller than some of the others, I think it lends to the friendliness of the staff with its members. The staff was really nice to me for my first time, allowing me to be a few minutes late even because I had a hard time finding it. It's located directly across the regal cinemas FYI so parking can be a bit tough. Mimi was an excellent instructor, coaching me through the moves and offering modifications where needed. This is one of the most effective workouts I've ever done! Last year I made it my New Years resolution to get back to exercising and tried out the Bar Method. All of my life I've struggled with keeping up with a workout plan. I'd go for a few months and then, at some point, I'd fall out of routine and stop going...only to wait for the motivation to kick back in (possibly months later). I'm still going 3-4 times a week a year later and want to go on a regular basis. I've gone down a size, and just in the last month and a half, I've lost 2 inches. At the Bar Method, the Instructors go through vigorous training on safety and technique, so you can feel comfortable that when asked to hold a position like Arabesque or Fold-over, you know they're watching your form constantly. When I was invited to try a Bar Method class in Winter Park, I went to it with some skepticism. My first thought was that the class would be better suited for those who had taken tons of ballet classes when they were growing up. Then I was concerned that it would be too hard and I wouldn't be able to keep up. Lastly, I considered that I might accidentally injure myself. Let me tell you, it was none of these things. The Bar Method is structured so that you receive feedback from the instructor teaching the class. The teachers have all undergone extensive training in how to help you have great form so you are protected from injury. They are friendly, encouraging and professional. You work at your own ability level. A ballet background is definitely not necessary. I have strengthened my core and actually have a toned look from working so many body parts. I started taking Bar Method classes 4-5 times a week since the Winter Park Studio opened and I absolutely love it. I workout regularly; weights and cardio and this is the only workout that I truly enjoy and I've already lost 5 inches from my waist and hips just in the past 5 weeks and have gotten a lot of compliments from friends and family. You don't have to be coordinated or flexible to take these classes, and the instructors are all amazing and great at helping you get the most from your workout.
