During the visit, important instructions…read morewere not clearly communicated, specifically, my family member was given dilation drops but was not advised to wear sunglasses or limit light exposure afterward. We are not experts, we don't know the dangers. Shortly after leaving, and her eyes being exposed to the harsh afternoon sunlight for 15 - 20 mins. her symptoms worsened significantly, including severe light sensitivity, redness, and discomfort, which required an ER visit later the same day. We paid the entire exam out of pocket too because this place was the only one open on a Sat and our insurance didn't cover it. And the ER doctor told me the exam itself caused an Secondary infection to her eyes. Her eyes become very swollen, shut, very red and painful. Now her eyes are still swollen and shut, 24 hours later. And I am very anxious and nervous as she is my mom and her eyes are in a bad shape. During the visit both the Doctor and technician handling the eye exam were coughing repeatedly. I am guessing this is where the infection could of occurred in the small room. They should have worn a mask. As patients, we rely on proper guidance, especially after procedures that can affect vision and comfort. Clear communication, preparation, and respectful responses to concerns are essential. This experience fell incredibly short in those areas, and I hope others are warned before going.

I don't have unrealistic ideals for how my experience should be anywhere but this place was disappointing, rude, and down right uncomfortable. My experience was so horrible I don't know where to begin! The office: was awkwardly set up, the equipment was archaic and I felt like I was walking into a scene from a horror movie when the Dr brought me into the exam room. The staff: there was one nice woman working. The other woman was short, rude, unfriendly with absolutely no charisma. She misquoted me for my contacts and was very rude to me about ordering through an online company. She made me feel cornered and borderline harassed by the way she handled the situation. The Dr is nice enough but he talks almost too fast to understand didn't ask any questions and I felt like cattle being shoved off to the slaughter house. He was just downright awkward and it was very uncomfortable. I have had bad experiences at various places over the course of my life but this is by far the worst. My family and I will be finding a new Doctor and I would highly recommend you do not go here.

He was not personable, empathetic nor took a proper history. I have worn the same contacts for years but the manufacturer keeps changing the name and I lost track of what they were called now. That annoyed him. He threw some samples at me and wanted me to come back with them in in two weeks. Every other eye doctor I have gone to has you put them in right then and there and then checks your eyes. As I am leaving I noticed that the contacts he gave me were not a brand I use and I had in the past had problems finding a brand that fit comfortably so I was annoyed. They explained they didn't have my brand in stock but chose one not similar to or even made by the same brand to my own. I left but not before he made sure to check that I paid for the extra test they talked me into. I guess he really needs that $35. Later that night, I was looking at these contacts he gave me and the packaging was different. The one was over a year past expiry. You aren't happy there, this isn't the profession you want. You need to get out and go do whatever it is that fulfills you because clearly, it's not healthcare. UPDATE: When I went to pick up the prescription because I refused to buy my contacts through them, they wouldn't give me one for the contacts I requested but for the expired ones because "those were the only ones I tried". I was also told to "just change the solution in the expired one, it's fine". I had to argue again with the doctor. He eventually gave me the prescription I asked for but not without being rude and taking much more time than necessary. They also tried to argue with me that I couldn't buy contacts from anywhere else because it wouldn't be covered by my insurance (I'm buying them through my insurance company). I have since contacted my insurance company detailing my interaction and they have approved me for a new appointment with a different doctor.
