Its not a food truck - but the building its in is about the same size as one. Mexican street food is what they sell and they do a pretty good job. You wont find any ambiance or decor here. And to be honest the whole place is in desperate need of a bottle of windex and 409. It is a bonafide dump. But I'm not grading the look. I'm grading the food. This unassuming place really packs a punch when it comes to flavorful food! We've been going here for the last few weeks off and on and have had great experiences each time. The food is prepared very well and the portion sizes are plentiful. We've had their nachos, quesadilla, alambre, and tortas. Everything was delicious and filling. They even have some menu items that are more of the authentic variety (such as tripa and menudo). The only thing that is not my favorite about it is there doesn't always seem to be a lot of drink options, at least ones that work for us. My husband is type 1 diabetic, so if he wants a soda it needs to be diet. They didn't have any diet options when we were there last. They do have other beverage options, so if diet drinks are not in the equation for you, then you shouldn't have an issue with their choices. Despite the small beverage item, Tortas is quickly becoming my go-to for Mexican take out. There is seating inside, but we prefer to just pick it up and take it home. Also there is some parking right in front of the building. They seem to work with a skeleton crew so sometimes patience is needed, but everyone we've encountered have been super friendly and the food is worth the wait! The food here is delicious. Their specialty is a dish called Tortas, but they have other options as well. A Torta kind of resembles an off the grill hoagie. The bread is crispy but light weight. The cheese is melted and delicious. I also want to add they are not stingy when it comes to stuffing their Tortas. They also have different agua frescas, but they vary when you visit. Maybe it was my experience. But I found this place to be overhyped. It was my first time eating there and I get my usual. Carne asada tacos with onions and cilantro. We also got steak nachos. Issues with the order.. issue one my steak was mostly fat and less STEAK! Literally majority of my meal was made up of cooked fat. Soooo where do I begin?? I drive past this place everyday to take my daughter to school . I sat on Yelp tonight for a good hour trying to pick a Hispanic place and finally settled on this one. It said it was cheaper than most ( some menu items on here are more expensive in store). We pulled up closer to closing time and there was nobody in the lot or inside the place. I ordered the fajita mix (chicken, steak, and shrimp) and asked if I could get an extra side of shrimp. She didn't understand me well and it took a minute to get where I was going. All the while she is staring at my bald spots on my head. ( I have alopecia, left my hat in the car because I thought it looked dumb, should've just worn it in) I haven't felt that uncomfortable about it in public in awhile. Also ordered the guacamole. Wasn't sure about drinks since none were really listed with prices. Let me say the food is the only thing saving this. The extra order of shrimp was $3 and was a huge bowl. The funky guac cost more than that! My daughter hates the guacamole (usually loves it) but this one was more of a fresh take on it, I didn't mind eating it on the tortilla with the fajita mix. She brought out the food but forgot the guacamole. Big portions, got full fast. Rice and beans are extra as compared to other places that give it to you with the meal. Horchata was on point. Mexicans don't eat burritos so I will not try it since that isn't authentic so I can't say anything about that. Our waitress had a little difficulty understanding English and when we asked if there was a spicier sauce than what was on the table, I don't think she understood. I am pretty sure they have a red sauce that is hot, based on what other reviewers have said. I didn't care for the brown sauce that we were served, however, I did like the verde sauce. *. My wife likes it more than me. I'm not a cheese lover like she is. My wife and I both got chicken burritos. They were stuffed and we didn't even get them as "grande" which includes rice and beans inside. We also got 2 steak tacos to try the steak. They were awesome. I only got them with onion and cilantro and the flavor was great. I add some Verde sauce they have. It has a small amount of heat, but great flavor. The Red sauce is straight fire. So much love for this local hot spot! There are always cars in the lot and now that my husband and I have both been here, we're totally coming back. The tacos supreme are so filling no matter what meat you get. The drink specials are incredible. We came on a Sunday - the drink special was 5 Coronas for $12.99. You can't beat that ANYWHERE. The Best Mexican food I've ever had . (I'm white tho so take that with a grain of salt)

I selfishly would like to keep this place as under wraps as possible, however in the spirit of Yelp I am going to say this is a run don't walk type of place. Hands down this was the best torta (asada) that I have ever had! The steak was perfect, the bun was steamed and soft, tomato, avocado, and lettuce were all fresh, the cheese melted and the cream a great addition to balance everything out. I was also able to try the Pastor tacos which were super flavorful, but the homemade tortillas were the standout for the tacos. The menu looks to be not just encompassing, but creative too! I am excited to try some of their specialty sandwiches, especially the Hawaiian. On top of everything else the staff was fast and friendly, the location is perfect for me, so I know that this is going to be a place that really cuts into my exploring of other restaurants. read more

I had the Cubana sandwich and a ground beef soft taco. The menu describes the sandwich as "CUBANA $7.99 Simply the best of its kind! Pork, ham, breaded steak,cheese, avocado, jalapeno, tomatoe, lettuce & mayo" I will definitely at least be trying out their burritos and more tacos at least. But the Cubana was not good. I was hungry, but the meats were all tough and chewy and surprisingly lacking much flavor! The presentation/appearance was very good, and it was served with a nice bag of lime slices and cucumber slices, but I ended up kind of pulling the Cubana apart, and trying to eat the components, but it was just not good! I used to go to a torta place called Super Tortas in Speedway, and those torta sandwiches were REALLY GOOD! Too bad the place was torn down because it was super good and I went there every time I was in Speedway! I don't think I will be trying any of their signature tortas anytime soon, but I will definitely seriously consider ordering more tacos and burritos! read more
