La Mamalona
Jesus M.

First time trying this place. First thing is parking, very limited. I think I parked in the drive with multiple other spots. Not sure if they share spots with the business near by. Now! For the torta. My oh my. That torta was a burst a flavor. So much going on, but still made it a good torta. I had the, "La Mamalona" and it was loaded! I had it pre ordered via phone and was all ready to go. The only thing that took time was zelle. Yes, this business is cash only or Zelle. So do with that what you want. Still do recommend this place for any foodie wanting to try something new and flavorful.

The inside of the restaurant looks run down and old as if anything can break in a moments notice. Service wasn't all there but was definitely fast but there was only us and another table at the time so it's expected. Food was 7/10 and can definitely fill you up if you're hungry hungry however one thing that didn't sit right with me was the price, on the table they had menus with prices vastly cheaper than what we were charged but still overall we paid 45$ for a torta, 2 taco dorados and a aqua Fresca, would recommend coming here just to try the food once but I wouldn't consider this a repeat spot.

¡Qué rico está esto! Tortas Chingonas is not just a name--it's a promise, & hombre, do they deliver! The birria meat plate is the star of the show for me. Roasted for hours, the meat is so tender & juicy it feels like it's been slow-dancing with flavor all day & nite. Every bite melts in your mouth & leaves you wondering if you'll ever eat anything as good again. The sides? Eccentric & unforgettable. Think bold spices, unique textures, & combos that make you nod in appreciation. They don't just sit there--they complete the birria like a great partner in crime. The vibe of this spot matches the food: bold, fun, & unapologetically delicious. If you're not already running to try it, well, you're missing out. Tortas Chingonas will have you saying, "¡Esto sí es vida!"

Hands down to this place ! The Tortas are super delicious ! I tried the Hawaiiana and it was just so tasty ! I also tried La Mamalona which comes with different meats and you can taste them all in one bite! They have a pretty fast service and the place feels calm and enjoyable The prices are a little high but super worth it one Torta fills up two people ! Come try this place out NOW! Rate : 10/10

Very welcoming, ladies greeted us and didn't hesitate to help us with our order. This my second time here in came back for a Torta DF I was shocked by the size meat was tender and so many flavors con la salsita roja you start your day off right here!

This day was funny cause somehow my husband had dreamt and craved of a Torta and so he had asked me if I knew a place where they make the best tortas. I told him that I shall look around and try a new place for us. What sold us was the name of the place "Tortas Chingonas" well why not, so here we were. They don't have a parking lot but you do have to park on the streets. It is a very small place, they do have seatings. I had actually thought my husband was gonna get the Mamalona or la chingona torta but I guess to start of trying our new place out with the simplest. So he ordered himself a Torta de asada and I got myself a burrito de Labio. I loved it and everything in that burrito had flavor. They also have a Salsa stand.. all you can eat salsas. My husband ate all the torta so he says he loved it and for sure next time he will try the Chingona one. The cook she was very welcoming and very charismatic, made us feel like we were back at home. For a Monday it wasn't busy. I enjoyed our visit and promised we would be back some other day to try their massive Tortas. And also, this place is Cash Only.

The good is that the La Cubana Torta was good, as well as the birria tacos and consome. The bad thing is that this place doesn't accept card payment, only cash and Zelle. We also got La Mamalona Torta and it didn't turn out great as expected. Place is averagely quiet, almost no one at this restaurant. Possibly might come back. 5 out of 10

We came back today and they don't have AC inside so during this heat wave it's pretty brutal because the cooking makes the inside 10x hotter and they only have fans blowing. When we walked in no one greeted us or told us we can sit down anywhere so we just kind of sat at a table and the server took a long time to come to us to give us the menu. She came to us after about 15 mins and she didn't say a single word to us so it was awkward ordering and she also didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink. The service wasn't the best but the food is really good. Great flavors and food comes out hot. The food is honestly really good even the chips and salsa they give to you as a small appetizer. I just wish the service was more consistent as it would add more to this business.

Super fresh, loaded, and jam-packed with flavor. The tacos gobernadores were another 10/10: cheesy, savory, with perfectly tender shrimp. I also tried Sinaloa-style machaca for the first time, served with refried beans and queso fresco. It was a little on the drier side, but still delicious and packed with veggies. The camarones a la diabla had such a flavorful sauce without being overly spicy, served with rice, beans, and flour tortillas. And of course, their tasty micheladas paired perfectly with everything! Definitely check out El Sinaloense and thank me later! One waitress was a lil rude passive aggressive but the next 1 that actually took care of us was very attentive , friendly and helpful. We actually asked for one of the dishes to be replaced, thinking maybe it was just a bad batch, but the replacement came out just as salty as the first one. At that point, there wasn't much we could do. The chefs gotta lay off the salt And the water... I honestly don't know what happened there, but it tasted like I was drinking straight from a water hose attached to the la river bed . I've had better-tasting water in Mexico. The meals were also way overpriced for the quality and quantity we received. As someone who genuinely appreciates Mexican food, this experience was especially disappointing. I'm sorry, but based on what I was served, I just can't consider this genuine Mexican food. I can't recommend this place If you're hungry and looking for a good Mexican meal, I'd suggest searching for another place and skipping this one.

Young guy talking about his $12 Taco lunch boxes, wet burrito, loaded twister fried and more... So like any good foodie I had to check them out because the hard shell tacos looked fabulous and fabulous tacos is a must!! Quick trip to Bellflower and were there i was lucky because there were only a few people there when we arrived, but once I stepped in line I swear 20 people showed up LOL!!! The wife wanted the Taquitos Loaded with a Large Pepino Aguafresca, I ordered the hardshell taco plate and Large Jamica the taco plate comes with 3 tacos, rice and beans. For my meats I chose Asada, Al Pastor, and Caritas. Hands down the Caritas and Al Pastor are the way to go so much flavor in both, rhe snap from the taco shells perfect. Seating is around both sides of rhe building if you cant wait to eat... The Aguafresca was sweeter than I'm used to but nothing ice and thin out. Overall the food was Bomb and service with a smile.. If it weren't for the very loud music playing, I would not have known this was a Mexican restaurant. We ordered Fish and Shrimp Ceviche tostadas, but it was ok not the best I ever had. Tostadas had more Cucumbers and Tomatoes than Fish or Shrimp, and to make it worse, it was soaked in some kind of unidentifiable watery juice which made the hard Tostada soggy. What prompts M E Perihuete to soak a hard Tostada shell with water? unbelievable! The Chilaquiles were bad. They were so spicy I could not taste my food. Overall, the service was bad the lady who served us was busy laughing and giggling with the male customers instead of attending to her tables. I have to say the obvious about the waitresses here, to be as nice as I can put it, their lips stand out as plungers, the chest, and behind well, so obvious they were not normal... The service was bad and the food was not the best. Pricey. Plenty of parking.
