Javier was extremely professional and helpful! He made sure we were able to what we wanted to our first home and couldn't be more grateful. The crew was timely and respected our home while transforming it to what we were hoping. We are definitely going to request more work from Torrescape again in the future. We appreciate everything you've done for our family's home! read more

Javier and his crew did an amazing job transforming both our yard and my mother-in-law's yard too. They installed turf, gravel, and a retaining wall, creating a safe and beautiful space for our kids and our two dogs. Even though we live about an hour away in the high desert, Javier was always willing to make the drive and even recommended plants that would thrive in our area. His professionalism, quality of work, and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. You can tell everyone on his team works extremely hard and genuinely enjoys what they do, and it shows in the quality of their work. We couldn't be happier with the results and will definitely be hiring them again for future projects. Highly recommend!! read more

Torrescape was fantastic! Javier was very prompt when I requested a quote to add on to our existing (small) retaining wall, create a new French drain, and add soil to a long, barren section along the side of our home. Javier and his crew were friendly, hardworking, and very clear about what needed to be done to ensure quality and longevity of the finished product. Based on the work done, the few days it took, and the fair price, I would highly recommend Torrescape (and already have to friends). Thank you, Torrescape! read more

What was supposed to be a simple sprinkler system upgrade turned into a much bigger project once all the underlying issues were uncovered -- tangled wiring, malfunctioning valves, and sprinklers that had been installed way too close to the edges. Instead of cutting corners, Torrescape took the time to do it right. Every valve was fixed, the wiring was properly untangled, and several sprinklers were thoughtfully repositioned to actually make sense for the landscape. It took more time than originally expected, but the quality of work was absolutely worth it. He was friendly, clearly knew exactly what he was doing, and had an impressive level of attention to detail throughout the entire process. This was not a rush job -- it was careful, knowledgeable, professional work. Truly exceptional, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Torrescape again or recommend them to anyone in San Diego. read more

Really fast response for an urgent call. Great and honest service. Definitely would recommend and use again.

Finally gave up on trying to maintain a front lawn and went with a no maintenance turf with retaining wall. Torrescape had creative ideas for the design we hadn't considered and just let them go with it, and we are very pleased with the outcome. Already survived the first huge rains, drains great, no clean up. Responsive, available, easy to work with. read more

Well for starters, when you hire them ie Javier after discussing the project and getting prices on the phone and he says he will be coming over with all he needs to complete the project at a certain time frame then he doesn't show up, doesn't call to say why he isn't showing up. I have followed up extensively but no response as to why he didn't show as promised. So rude and not a good business. I did ask Javier if he had a contractors license and he referred me to his website which does not show his license and maybe thats why he didn't show up.. NOT HAPPY and would not recommend read more

Do not hire this company!! Javier could not have done a worse job. First of all, he doesn't show up for scheduled appointments. When he is a no show and you finally get a hold of him on the phone to say "Where are you?" he offers a weak excuse about being busy on a prior job. Of course he never called or texted me to let me know in advance he was not going to make our appointment despite knowing he was standing me up. It was a complete waste of my day to stay home to meet with him when he never showed up. Then, I have come to discover that the multiple $250. (each) timers that he convinced me to put in were all installed incorrectly. They never worked. My landscaping just got drier and drier until many bushes and ground cover died. I had to hire another sprinkler company to come in to do the job right. I spent over $2,000.00 on Javier for poor installation of very expensive timers that did not work. Of course, he ghosted me after the job date so no fixing the problems was possible. Do not waste your time and money with Torrescape. You will regret it. read more

I requested a yard clean up through yelp projects. Javier, at Torrescape, was one of a few businesses who responded quickly! Javier was able to offer a fair pricing on my yard cleanup! Coordination was set up etc. on the day of the cleanup, he had assistant Daniel start. Later Javier and his wife Alejandra showed up! All three were excellent, efficient and super friendly! Thank you for being able to make it on the day promised, really excited and looking forward to future projects with Torrescape!! Thank you Javier and team! read more

Javier responded to my yard maintenance request quickly and within a week was able to come up and fix out our front and back areas, which needed pretty extensive cleanup and replacement of sprinkler systems as well as filling in a sunken spot and seeding it. He and his two person team took care of everything quickly and we had a great experience... everything looks fantastic! Javier was amazing! Communication was on point! This last week we had over 100 heat and always kept me in the loop for with our progress of our job and others. Understanding the weather once it lowered he came and knocked out our job. Very pleased with the work and value of the job. The crew worked hard and got it done quickly. No one wants to have the eye sore of the neighborhood. Our yard was in really bad shape but we found Javier with Torrescape and he was able to help us get our yard looking absolutely beautiful. He helped us figure out what worked for us and actually listened. His prices were better than a few other companies we called. His crew was awesome. They were quick and really knowledgeable on everything. He even set up timed watering for us. Highly recommend. We will definitely be calling when we are ready for our backyard. Don't mind the plants we picked out as they are spring bloomers and just dormant for the winter. Thank you Javi! read more

My husband and I came home to a falling over nectaplum tree and discovered that gophers had destroyed the roots! Our tree is very young so we were worried. I quickly tried to look up what to do and reached out on Yelp to see if anyone would be able to provide any advice! Javier replied so quickly (within 5-10 mins, I think) and told me that he could help and what to do to try and save our little tree. He was so nice in our quick text exchange and I was so appreciative of his help in the midst of my panic. I would definitely reach out to him again for assistance with other things but unfortunately we are out of his normal service area. But I think that makes his response to my call for help even better! Thank you, Javier! Fingers crossed she makes it! read more

In response to your response to my review, when you say you are going to do a job on a certain day, you do it. You were supposed to do the job when you showed up. I even agreed to pay you more. I don't know what you mean by going under concrete or that it was deeper than expected. I kept telling you the pipe was next to the concrete sidewalk and next to the bed walls and not under it and the pipe was 8 inches down. You said I told you 3 inches which is B.S.. In truth you didn't want the job because it would require hand digging and some sweat and you complained that you couldn't use your jackhammer. Calling me from your chiropractor after multiple attempts to reach you clinched my hypothesis about your physical inability to do any "hard" work. Once again, when you say you will do a job at a certain day and time, you do it without making all the excuses above. Very unprofessional. read more

Thank you to Torrescape for not only removing my huge palm tree, but replanting a new one for me. I was quite picky with the type of palm tree I wanted and he went out of his way to find it. Thank you for constantly keeping me posted and quickly responding to my texts whenever I asked questions. Keep up the good work! read more

This review is way overdue!! Javier and Dany really helped me out and were able to completely change my backyard from a massive amount of weeds and ivy to a well-designed space to use and enjoy. But it took a few hurdles to get there and Javier and the team really went above and beyond. First, the irrigation system was an absolute mess. Then discovering the sheer amount of ivy roots that had spread all throughout the yard. And lastly, a kind neighbor informed me that water was coming out of my DRIVEWAY. Quick thinking, Javier was able to reroute the irrigation to avoid me having to excavate my driveway. They really saved the day! Well-knowledgeable, great constant communication, polite and courteous-- you will not be disappointed trusting Torrescape with any of your outdoor projects!! read more

Javier and Danny did an amazing job on our remodel! This was a huge project. They redid both the front and back yards. They leveled out our backyard and removed a planter, giving us optimal space to use. Also added a dog run so our dog could still use the restroom. Installed turf to the front and back yards. Extended our parking availability out front. Removed a large unused planter to maxize space out front as well and installed a new walkway. Also built multiple retaining walls. This all added great curb appeal and has led to endless compliments from neighbors. It required lots of long days in the heat. Javier did a great job at keeping us updated on progress and any issues or delays (which were minimal). Danny and the rest of the crew did really quality work. You can tell they care about the final look and took their time getting things right. They fixed issues as they arose and always had a plan. The project was done within the original estimate, and the price was competitive to other quotes we got as well! Would 100% recommend any friends or family needing work! We are so greatuful and love the new entertaining space!! read more

Highly recommend Torrescape ! Javier has a professional crew that does outstanding work. I met with Javier thru a referral on "Next Door" and was quoted for a new retaining wall. Communication was wonderful ! The job started on time and was completed faster than expected!! I felt the price was competitive to other companies in the area but the experience with Torrescape made me a returning customer. I was surprised with a FREE lawn care service after the job was completed!!! They came back the following week and made my yard look outstanding ! Javier and team came out and gave my YARD A FANTASTIC FACELIFT! I purchased a house where the landscaping is done but it had been a while since things were cut back. The week before, Javier came out to discuss what needed to be done (pulling some trees, cutting trees hitting the roof, and cutting back ivy making pathways for critters). The Torrescape team CAREFULLY cut back a very large bird of paradise tree that was super high above the roof. I was impressed that they were able to cut these very heavy branches while being super careful so they didn't land on other plants. During the day of they even CHECKED IN WITHE ME to see if there was anything else they could do. They even check out the sprinkler system and TAUGHT ME how to use it. And the HAULED IT ALL AWAY and left everything CLEAN. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Javier and Torrescape SD and will have them return in the future! Javier and his team did an excellent job demolishing our failing railroad tie retaining walls and replacing them with new block walls. We had to navigate some problems, mainly having extremely rocky soil with many boulders in the way, but they were able to make the plans work with minimal changes. For years I have wanted to replace my problem grass in the front yard with turf/plants but held off because I assumed the price would be outrageous. Earlier this year, I decided to satisfy my curiosity and called 3 different companies over to give me a quote. Torrescape was the only one that came back with what I considered a fair and reasonable price. Throughout the project, Javier was wonderful to work with. He kept in constant communication with me, patiently answered any and all questions I had (and there were many) and was willing to add some items on to the job even though they had many other projects going on. If you're looking for a company with honest, reliable and hardworking people, look no further. I highly recommend Torrescape for any landscaping project you might have. My front yard turned out beautifully and was completed in a remarkably short period of time. Javier and his team are great! read more
