My partner reached out to Johnny's for an estimate on weed removal on a Tuesday, we have a small back and front yard. She received a quote and sent me the phone # to schedule since she was busy at work. I reached out, sent photos, and awaited a response. The person I was texting asked if we were looking for reoccurring service or the one time weed removal when I replied requesting just one time service I didn't hear back. I texted again requesting an estimate, no response. Texted again the next day on Wednesday and they finally requested my information. I sent my info, received an email to sign an estimate agreement and after signing and sending it right back I received no response. I texted back that we would be going with a different service who was able to schedule us in. I'm usually really patient but the lack of communication is what bothered me. They were quick to reach back out after sending initial photos but after I opted for a one time service instead of reoccurring services is when I stopped hearing back so quickly. No shade at all if a business doesn't want to offer their services or prefers bigger projects but I would have appreciated better transparency and communication. I'm sure others have had more positive experiences but for me personally I wouldn't recommend this business. I believe in treating every customer with the same respect and willingness to communicate regardless of project size. read more

We hired Johnny's Landscaping for a large landscaping project that included turf installation, irrigation, fencing, and cleanup. The overall experience had some positives, but also several frustrations that left me disappointed with the final outcome. Pros: * Communication was generally responsive, and I appreciated the use of videos to illustrate the plan of action. * They executed the relocation of our hot tub smoothly and without issues. Cons: * The biggest issue was turf discoloration along our fence line that appeared within weeks of installation. While the contractor acknowledged a potential cause, the resolution offered (replacement of a section that likely wouldn't match) did not address the customer satisfaction aspect of the problem. For the size of this investment, I expected more effort toward a satisfactory solution. * It took two months after the final walk-through to complete relatively small punch-list items. * An irrigation issue arose that could have been caught and fixed with a quick demo during the walk-through. * The landscaping "clean up" in the front and backyards consisted mainly of trimming bushes and spreading mulch. For the cost, I expected more attention to detail. I ultimately ended up demolishing both areas and plan to do a total hardscape/landscape redo. * The fence enclosure around the pool equipment was functional, but the paint/stain job was rushed (seams and edges left unfinished, uneven coverage, paint overrun), and the latch sticks. I plan to repaint myself. Overall, the project was completed, but the lack of attention to detail and unwillingness to address the turf issue in a way that ensured customer satisfaction overshadowed the positives. Failed to show for a scheduled routine appointment. There was no notification and no follow up. We found out about the failure to show due to our tenant complaining about the lawn. My wife contacted them to make up the appointment. They refused and threatened to drop us a customers, which we gladly accepted. Apparently they think a lawn can go 4 weeks without service in the summer. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and frankly rude. Edit: Could no reply to owner's rant so.... Let me start by saying that I have used them for 3 years and have been satisfied. Recently I had asked that a lot of mulch be removed from my front yard. Johnny asked me to send photos of the job and once he reviewed he estimated $575. On the day the job was scheduled, I came home from work to see minimal work had been done. I texted him and his reply was to tell me that the work that was done was what he had bid on. I adamantly disagreed with his assessment from where ever he was. When I again stated that $575 worth of work had not been done, he again asked for pictures which I provided. A while after the photos he then texts me that there hadn't been enough room in the truck to remove all of our mulch. So, his first response was a lie. That is bad business in my eyes. The work was rescheduled for a week later. On that day, 2 workers came and spent the first 60-90 minutes chatting and looking at each other's phones...........not working. I didn't have a chance to really evaluate the work that was done until today (after I paid the $575). Long story short, they did approximately 60% of the work that I asked for and paid for. Now, evidently it's up to me as I have filled 4 large greenery recycle bins today and am looking at at least 3 more after these are emptied. When I texted Johnny the pictures of MY work he said that he had UNDER charged me for the work that was done as it turned out to be more than he estimated by photos. When I said that I was disappointed that I am left to do the heavy work that his company was paid to do. Nothing but excuses on his part and after the initial lie, I find myself in need of a different provider. read more

So frustrated with these guys. They were recommended by another landscaper, as I was hoping for a fairly large redesign of my front and back yards. Duy and I chatted on the phone two or three times, including me sending him a dozen photos and him offering some ideas. His dad came out and we talked about options. I verbally authorized up to $15k for the work. When i didn't hear back over weeks, I texted Duy and he apologized, saying they were busy. A few weeks later he texted and asked for my email address. Then they ghosted me. I texted a few times over the next two or three months, and Duy never responded. I would have been bummed, but would have understood, if they declined the work. Instead, I spent 4 or 5 months trying to work with them, only to be ignored. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone, based on this truly horrible customer service. read more

If i could give zero stars i would! An older man using a leaf blow ran up aggressively at my mother and screamed in her face, she was scared for her own safety. They soon terminated our contract which is ridiculous because it was the employee who was out of line and im pretty sure he wasn't even reprimanded for this event. I wouldn't hire them due to this man's aggressive actions and the managements unprofessional attitude toward the situation! The mask was good, the work not so much. It started with a reasonable price and reasonable approach to fixing the system. It wound up with about triple the price. You'd think with that I'd have (1) a perfect system and (2) great follow up service. Duy is a nice guy and he did follow up for some but when questions kept coming up he just sort of fell off the planet. My check had cleared and I was on my own. My guess is there are plenty of "nice guys" out there doing irrigation systems; I'd use someone other than Duy & Johnny's. In fact, I will be, to finish up the job. read more

I have some major landscaping done by Johnny one year ago, including new grass (sod) in my front yard and my back yard. Initially, the lawns looked great, except in the backyard, the lawn on the right side started yellowing and dying. Johnny said "add more water to the brown spots". This has been an ongoing battle for 12 months with no resolve. In July 2022, discovered that the sprinklers on the right side were not covering all the grass, and the volume setting was very low. I adjusted them. During July, I had another landscaper install pavers in my back yard. Upon looking at the dying grass, he said there were not enough sprinklers, and the water volume was inadequate. I spoke to Johnny, and he blamed it on me fertilizing the lawns, and the hot summer weather. Neither is true since all of my lawns receive the same amount of watering, and we're fertilized at the same frequency. The pictures validate that my two other lawns are perfectly green. Johnny said wait for the cooler fall weather, and the grass should grow back". I will wait and see, but I believe that I will have to go to the expense of redoing the sprinkler system and adding new sod. read more
