I am very happy with the work Concrete Creations did on the retaining wall/fence in front of my house. We had a poorly built wall that was slowly cracking apart. He demolished it and put a sturdy cement block stucco wall with wood fencing. It is beautiful! He was very good about communicating what was coming next, offered wise suggestions on choices that needed to be made and even built a little wood gate between the driveway and yard. Great work! I hired Concrete Creations SD to improve a tree box in my front yard, replacing some old rotting wood with bull-nose brick. Luis communicated well via phone and text, and came out to my house to measure the tree box and provide a quote. He also measured the existing bricks on another tree box in my yard so that he could find bricks to match. On both days of the project, Luis and his coworker showed up on time and did excellent, careful work. I love how they cut the brick into little triangles to make the corners look good. The tree box looks amazing and is a big upgrade from what I had before. The price was exactly as quoted, and Luis gave me a receipt showing the material costs. I highly recommend Luis and Concrete Creations SD and would be happy to work with them again! read more

Luis added an excellent driveway for us. We needed an extra parking space due to being overwhelmed by both waste pipe construction and ADU construction. They did a great job on the driveway and we added a sidewalk and shed pad in the yard. We are very happy with the results. I highly recommend, very reasonable and good to work with. read more

We are so absolutely pleased with the work Luis did for us. We got multiple quotes and thought that Luis' quote, reviews, and pictures of his work created the best value for us. He was also responsive and so easy to work with. Luis and his team put in a stamped concrete walkway from our driveway all the way through to our backyard and matched it to the existing. He also helped us extend our concrete walkway on the other side of our home to expand the clearance between our new HVAC units and our raised garden wall. To do this, they had to remove, level, and replace the capstones and did so beautifully. The team was punctual, respectful, clean, quick, and produced beautiful work. Overall we were very pleased and would work with them again in a heartbeat. We highly recommend them to others. read more

We wanted a new retaining wall and fence installed in our front yard, enclosing an artificial turf area. Luis, Abel and his team are amazing. I had an intense demo job to be done here and then difficult task of new irrigation and new driveway on a steep hill. I looked around and got many quotes and was lucky to come across Luis and his team. They did a great job and it was done on time and at a great price. It required some follow up work and this was completed just in time of the storms coming. Will use again for sure for anything in the future read more

Hey Luis, I have to say that it's unfortunate that we have not heard back from you yet. We paid on time, referred my mom (which you did not follow up with and she over paid for just demo work), and gave you a good recommendation to a new project which you had mentioned gave you the business. We just want to have the final finishes completed. (Gate, plants and small chips) I believe my mom already moved onto another contractor. If we don't hear back we will have to reflect your unfinished services on a business review. I really hope it doesn't have to come to that because you do good work but I myself am in the business of providing quality service and that includes following through and communication. This was a text sent a year ago and read with no reply. We are now dealing with a pergola post installed by concrete creations that is sinking and still have not heard back from any of our calls. read more

Luis and crew completely transformed our front and back yards. They did an amazing amount of work and we're very happy with the result. We gave Luis a rough idea of what we were looking for and he provided a lot of guidance on design throughout the project and helped us get what we wanted. Backyard: Concrete was completely demoed and replaced. New steps and walkways with proper drainage were poured. The side yard was leveled and a new fence with retaining wall was added. Turf was installed and they even put in all the new plants. They added DG on the side also. Front Yard: The front porch and walkway were demoed and repoured (requiring porch roof support). The yard was graded and all existing plants and bushes removed. They added rock borders with DG and planted all the new trees and bushes. Luis and his crew were great to work with. They were reasonably priced and very trustworthy. I've gotten many compliments on the work (and still do) and am happy to refer Luis to anyone that asks. read more

This is a long overdue review. My husband and I moved into an older home that needed some TLC. The driveway and garage had some significant tree root damage that could be seen, but we didn't realize how invasive and the roots were until Luis and his crew came in to dig it up. Luis came onsite for a bid and gave us a quote quickly after. We decided to go with him despite how busy he was because we got a good feeling based on how he explained the process and his bid was on-par or slightly lower with the other contractors we had come out for the same project. We could not be happier with the work that him and his team did. The driveway is clean and the garage is finally level. The amount of roots dug-out from were much more than we anticipated and we felt so lucky to have Luis' team work so diligently to remove them all. From start to finish, everything was professional and very simple. Luis' team did the job in the time committed and we would definitely ask Luis back for future jobs - concrete or landscaping. read more

An update after a while having the driveway. I wouldn't recommend adding a color to your project. The colors turned out uneven throughout the driveway so it does look like there are dark spots in some sections and light spots and others that are very very noticeable. Luis came over in April, and provided us with an initial estimate for pouring a concrete patio, hot tub pad, and pathway. He was right in the target of what my husband had been researching, and he seemed like he knew his stuff, and he was very mellow yet experienced, so I told my husband that this was the guy. I also found out he did more than just concrete, so we asked him to come and look at our whole yard, as we were wanting a major overhaul of the back yard. He gave us an estimate within our budget for what we were looking for, initially, so him and his team started about 3 weeks later. We had them grade our whole yard, as it was complete uneven due to years of neglect, and a lot of gophers. They poured, stamped, and sealed a beautiful patio/hot tub pad, steps, and three different barriers to divide the areas. They also helped my husband transplant our very large bamboo. They laid decomposed granite with stabilizer in two areas, and mulched another area. Our yard is transformed and desirable thanks to Luis and his guys. This is hard work, and they worked diligently to make everything look fabulous. I'm thrilled to finally have a yard I want to be in. We ended up going over-budget, but that was because we kept asking for more, but we don't regret it at all! read more

Concrete Creations, I can't say enough good things about the total experience - from initial contact to the completion of the job I hired Luis's company to do. I made inquiries from about a half dozen companies of which only half responded. The job, pouring a foundation for a building with some special issues. Luis was much clearer in explaining the exact process which the others were somewhat vague, leaving me with questions in my mind as to what exactly was I getting for my money - not so, Luis, who gave me detailed explanations. Along with all of that, he gave the best quote. The special issues were dealt with and the finished product didn't disappoint. If you want a quality job at an affordable price, give Concrete Creations a call and you will not be disappointed! read more

Outstanding work for a very good price. I cannot say enough good things about Luis and his entire crew. We had our old driveway removed, and a new one put in. Each step of the process was done with meticulous care and exactly as we planned it. I even threw in some last minute changes and it was no issue. Luis is a quiet guy, he did not try to up-sell us, nor pressure us to commit to the job before we were ready. We live in a historic designated neighborhood and Luis's company had everything we needed to get our work done and approved by the city (we did help with the site plan, but that was basic and did not require much effort). We asked for a bid from 3 different companies and Concrete Creations was by far the easiest to work with and the best value. Gracias Luis! read more

We finally decided to replace our original construction concrete driveway so we searched for and found Luis and his brother here on Yelp. He responded to our querry in mere moments and was here the following day to assess the job. He sent us a (Very competitive) quote the next day and was ready to start work by the following Monday (He was ready sooner but we took the week end to discuss!). Luis was the easiest contractor I've ever worked with and effortlessly understood all of my design goals. After tearing out the old driveway I decided to replace the drain pipe while we were at it and Luis gave me a quote that I couldn't refuse and he even worked it into his schedule so that our end date did not move. He never (And I mean NEVER) missed a schedule target or made us wait or changed the quote with some lame "Oh, such and such problem just appeared..." excuse. On the contrary, we asked him to expand a couple of the concreted areas and he just made it happen. All of the above would be pointless if the result was trash but his work was comensurate with his work ethic: everything was expertly done (Including the plumbing!) and we just love our new driveway. P.S. pull up a lawn chair to watch his brother chop up and haul away your old driveway with the bobcat... you won't be disappointed. read more

Not sure what you need to do to give money away, but apparently they didn't want my money and didn't bother to let me know.... It started like other ++ reviews- quick to respond, set - up time, seemed like a real nice guy, and then the quote came in... Turf was $$$, but the rest was fair... I let him know that we were good to move forward ( without installing turf) pending the pictures of the patio cover he offered to provide when he visited.. He said ok and apologized for not sending but would send pictures... Nothing.. I asked/looked around, and my buddy referred Luis.. So I decided to give him another chance.. He quickly responded and apologized again- said he would send pictures... nothing I have my own assumptions, but communicating that he decided not to take the job should be the expectation.... read more

Luis and his team were great. We a decently complex pour with a driveway that was half on the slope and half like a bridge over a walkway. It required a lot of careful demolition and reinforcing of the structure that would support the upper section. The prior driveway was incorrectly sloped and Luis paid attention to ensuring that the slope would run properly. The walkway and retaining wall turned out perfect and the wider path is safer and graded properly now. South Coast Waterproofing did the waterproofing before the new concrete was poured. They were accommodating on schedule and timing. Pricing is fair. Also, bring your ideas and talk through the build process. It helps to be involved in the work to get the best outcome. I probably saw his team every day for nearly a month as we moved through the various part of the build. Will miss their team! A bunch of great, hardworking guys. Watching them work with concrete from demo, form building, to pour was a great learning experience. read more

Just a quick review to comment on Luis of Concrete Creations SD. We called via telephone to set up an appointment. He was kind and professional on the phone and set up an appointment within a reasonable period of time. He was on-time to his appointment (very important to me), listened very well to what our needs were, and helped brainstorm approaches to how to develop our backyard. Unfortunately, we did not elect his company as his quote was not as competitive as a few other companies we called. Also, although his quote was detailed in description, it did not contain a line-item description of services to understand the final cost projection. You may wish to request this from him as we failed to ask for the details. As each project differs, I *DO* recommend calling him to discuss how he can serve you in what he does. He is a VERY kind man with a calm soul who understands his craft. read more

Luis and his crew did an amazing job designing our driveway. We got many quotes from other companies and due to living on a busy street our quotes were very high, some even said they were unable to complete the task. I highly recommend Luis and Concrete Creations. I hired them for a front yard project that most people would consider fairly "major," involving the excavation of several tons of dirt, regrading of approximately 750 square feet of soil, pouring of a concrete driveway and creation of some small retaining walls. We had done work on our house before, but this was by far the largest project, and I was a bit nervous about how it would go. I received bids from three different contractors. All of them were knowledgeable, but it was Luis who stood out as the most honest, straight forward and detail oriented. A couple times I asked him about options that would have been more expensive and made Luis more money on the project, but he explained to me why he thought the lower cost options would be better. Luis' bid was also reasonable. So, we scheduled the project with Luis to start about three weeks later. For the ten days it took to do the work, Luis and his guys showed up on time every one of them. During the excavation, a valve connecting to the water line cracked. Luis and his guys fixed this immediately at no additional cost (it was not an expensive repair, otherwise I fully would have expected to be charged). Luis came up with design elements as the construction progressed that really impressed me and enhanced the project. Every day, they cleaned up their mess and put away their tools. On trash days, they even rolled out our trash cans, since they were hard for us to get to with the construction. Of course, the most important thing is the end result and I am beyond pleased with that. We wound up with a gorgeously patterned colored concrete driveway, some very nice retaining walls and concrete steps, a new wood fence and a planted hedge with irrigation, all compliments of Concrete Creations. It is obvious that Luis and his guys know what they are doing and also that their knowledge extends beyond concrete (the wood fence was very well built and his guys set up the irrigation and fixed the water line with no problem). They are easy and pleasant to work with, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a landscape contractor. read more

Luis and his team did an excellent job on our backyard. They showed up on time everyday and cleaned up after themselves. Luis is very knowledgable and was able to do what other contractors told me wasn't possible. Before hiring Luis I had a very bad experience with another contractor. I end up firing the other contractor and was looking for someone to finish the job. I interviewed many other concrete companies but Luis impressed me the most. He was the only one who offered references upfront. I contacted all of his previous clients and they confirmed that he did quality work. I was never stressed out during the entire project. I wish I could have found Luis sooner. If your looking for a honest, hardworking and great concrete contractor, I would definitely recommend Concrete Creations. Luis, Abel and Alex are just unbelievable! From the time of quote through completion of multiple jobs, they could not have been more professional, attentive, and conscientious. They take pride in their work and will go above and beyond on every detail. Originally, they were replacing a driveway and walkway, repairing another walkway, and grinding down and epoxying my garage floor - all things I had on my wish list for years but the potential cost and disruption scared me. Luis provided a quote on the spot and explained the process. Knowing what to expect and just having a comfort level with Luis's integrity, I was ready to proceed. As it turned out, when I received other quotes days later, I had chosen not only the company I was most comfortable with but the most reasonably priced quote. For the icing on the cake, when midway through the initial job I mentioned that I also wanted to fence my front yard, they worked that into their schedule to be able to stay at my house to complete the add-on job immediately following the initial work. There was of course some disruption. But it was so much better managed and minimized than I had feared. Among other things, they were fastidious about keeping the job site as clean and tidy as possible. By the time they left, I almost felt like I was losing family - such great guys! I would highly recommend. read more

Very happy with the concrete patio work that they did. Luis is communicative, on time, and knowledgeable. They did a quality job.

Didn't even show up as promised to give us an estimate. Attempted to call several times and no return calls.

I began communication with Luis over the Yelp quote system and he was quick to communicate and we set up a time to give me a free quote. He was able to give me a very competitive quote and on top of that, his crew also had experience with building a fence, so it was great to tackle on multiple projects at once! In the end we ended up getting a new expanded driveway, demolished an old driveway that was eating up some of the backyard, and replaced an old chain link fence with a fabulous new wooden fence (plus two gates!). The project was quick, but care and attention was made to small details that sometimes get overlooked by others. I won't hesitate to contact Luis again over any other concrete projects! read more

Several companies from Yelp did not even return my calls and of the ones that did concrete creations had a good price and seemed very knowledgeable. Luis and his team just completed a project to replace my old driveway with a full concrete one. They completely removed the two existing concrete strips and the all the pebbles that made up the driveway, and dug into the soil to lay new concrete. Luis was detailed in explaining what they were going to do and why they were going to do it, taking into consideration some drainage concerns I had. They showed up promptly every day to do the work. He said the project would take three days, and it was right on time. Do not hire this contractor and if he is working for you, fire him immediately. His license #829635 and his bond expired December 31, 2021. Doubtful he has liability or workers compensation coverage. We used Luis for two previous jobs and were mostly satisfied. We hired him to build a block wall starting Jan. 24, 2022. He did not complete the job and left behind concrete blocks in front of our patio slider, dried concrete and damaged the front of our house and landscape plants. Because of our past experience, when Luis asked for advanced payment we trusted his integrity and paid for most of the job before completion. Luis did not respond to our emails, phone calls or text messages. I am in my early 80's so having this disgraceful mess left in my backyard has created a physical hardship for us. Luis just left our place after giving us an estimate. We haven't had work done from him yet (we're still gathering several estimates for our project) but we're already pleased with the experience working with Luis/Concrete Creations. I reached out on Yelp, he responded promptly with a time he could come by the next day. He showed up on time, measured everything out, and gave me a quote within 10 minutes before he left. I've had a lot of estimates done lately for various projects, and most have had me wait anywhere from a day to a week to receive an estimate - getting one on the spot was a convenient and nice surprise. Furthermore, I noticed he had written down all of the measurements and calculated each part of our project with a formula to end up with the final estimate for our project. Having a standard calculation made me feel confident that he was charging me a fair price based on exactly what we needed done. We haven't made a final decision yet, but if we have the work done by Concrete Creations we'll update our review. Judging by other's experience and photos of their work, plus our initial experience working with Luis, we're pretty confident they'd do an excellent job. read more
