    First day of Demo
    Lynne B.

I hired Tom and Mandy to remove my pool. I received several bids and they were very reasonable and very respectful of my time and property. Tom is amazing...he was right on schedule and every day he worked at my house he cleaned up after where you couldn't even tell I had construction going on. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing their pool removed or any type of demolition done. One of the best contractors I've every worked with.

We had to find a contractor to demo/fill a pool that had been unused for years. It was a very nice pool.... but the space it was taking up was a waste, and could be much better utilized. Finding contractors can be hit or miss. Cost is one thing, but you never know what or whom you are really going to get. Enter AllStar Demolition. Mandy and Tom came over for an estimate and right off the bat you knew they were the real deal. Not because Tom had unbelievable wisdom/vision/insight, and not because Mandy was meticulous and thorough in her own right. But because Tom and Mandy treat you like you are their friend or family. They care about what you want and think, and they tell you how it is. They don't try and nickle and dime you (quite the contrary, their cost was VERY reasonable). And they straight up tell you what they are capable of and how competently they can complete the project. Through the entire process, Mandy and I had thorough and timely communication. She knew what could potentially save me time and money in the long-run, and laid it all out as clear as day. She CARED about us as the homeowners and clients. When Tom and Ruben came out to the do the job, not only were they efficient (AND tidy), but Tom convinced us to go a route that made the outcome better than I could have ever imagined. Without a doubt, we could not have had this done by any company quite like we had it done by AllStar Demolition. When it came to doing the finishing work (we elected for turf), Tom even worked with the turf reps to tell them exactly what he planned to do and make sure it was exactly to spec for them. Who does that?!?! I can't say enough about this company and team, and give my wholehearted A+++++++++++ recommendation to use them for any of your projects. I certainly will. To AllStar Demolition... I LOVE you guys. THANK YOU 100 times over.

They demolished our old pool that has been sitting in our backyard forever, with no use for us. Tom and Mandy were so nice and professional. They helped and educated us all step of the way. They did great quality work. I recommend them.

    Crusty pool with crusty backyard.

I requested a quote from AllStar and Tom and Mandy showed up that weekend. They looked over the job and told me what it entailed. They gave a pretty detailed explanation of what would take place and what they could/could not do. Mandy sent me a proposal a few days later. The price was about four grand less than what I thought it would be to demo a 1980's pool that had been empty for the last 12 years (Sorry guys...). I signed the contract and Mandy was in constant communication. She pulled all the permits from the city. They gave me an estimated start date of a couple months out, but called me a few weeks later and said they could start early. They had my 8 foot deep pool (450 sq feet) demo'ed in less than five days - I chose the compaction report so I would have less headaches if I ever sold the house. Tom, Mandy and their team worked their butts off during a nice little heat wave. I can't thank them enough for removing a 12 year old headache. I have worked with several other companies over the last few months on different projects at my house, and AllStar was by far the most prompt, efficient and honest. They communicated with me constantly and I really appreciate everything they did for me.

A JOB WELL DONE We…read morehave a long concrete driveway that curves up a hill to our home. The driveway is 47 years old and was in need of repairs to the driveway and to replace a low curved concrete wall on one side of the driveway, which was badly damaged by time and a large truck. From the Yelp website, I selected 3 five-star contractors for bids to repair the driveway. I'm in my late eighties and handicapped, but in my younger days I worked in construction starting back in 1952 as an apprentice carpenter. I have worked on many projects where I built forms to pour concrete for homes, high rise buildings, and underground tunnels. I have also worked on cementing casing in oil wells as deep as two miles and I have personally poured and finished concrete at my own home. So needless to say, I know a lot about concrete and construction in general. Now that I'm too old and crippled up to work, I'm always apprehensive when I have to hire men to work for me. All too often you get people who lack the skill and experience to do a proper job and often, they don't care how the job turns out. Then they leave behind a mess for the homeowner to clean up. When Oswaldo Minez came to look the job over prior to submitting a bid, I was very impressed with his knowledge and attitude. He told me he was the son of a father and son business and that was my background as well until my father's early death at a young age. The bid from Minez Concrete was the lowest bid and I gave them the contract. A few days later they called to say they had an unscheduled delay in their next job and they could begin work at our home. Oswaldo said they would show up at 7 AM and to my surprise the crew arrived right on time and every day thereafter. Oswaldo's father, Ramon is in charge of the actual work and I could tell right from the start that Ramon is an old school craftsman. He has trained his crew to be competent workers. Too often companies in southern California show up with a boss, who doesn't know what he is doing, and untrained men hired to work by the day. Not the Minez Company, their men are professional workers, who know their craft. On several occasions I have hired people and had to stand there all day making sure the job was done right and sometimes pitching in myself to do the job. After watching the Minez crew for a short time, I knew we were in good hands and I went back into the house. Every time I came out to observe progress there was Ramon supervising his men while working beside them to give us a first-rate job. The repairs all turned out beautifully and several people have commented upon how nice the driveway looks. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the work to go so smoothly and quickly. It was such a surprise and relief to be treated so well with a beautiful result. Oswaldo kept us informed regarding progress and his suggestions and those of Ramon contributed greatly to the final outcome. If you want a first-class experience at a fair price then hire Minez Concrete. They know what they are doing and they do the job right for a fair price. In today's world, that is rare.

There were two spots where he said his crew could do the work, but said it would be really easy for me to do in a couple hours to save some money. Which I really appreciated him not up selling me. They were great to work with and respected our house. What I especially appreciated was the care they took to ensure nothing around the house was damaged. This was a pleasant experience and I would recommend SK Concrete to anyone for their big or small project.

They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

While on site, Adam asked for "200-300$" outside of the scope of the signed contract for the same work that would have been done with or without the additional request. Through the phone exchanges and emails regarding these issues Adam was arrogant and dismissive, yet also took blame for the stairs and will not resolve the issue. Adam's team poured our concrete before a heavy rain, but failed to redirect a gutter (as it had originally been before construction) from pouring directly onto the concrete causing a water stain from the pooling water on the fresh concrete. Again, when confronted with this issue and asking for a resolution Adam denied blame and said "wait a year".
