Our house needed new keystone retaining wall as well as demo and add new concrete to the back and front patio, double driveway, carport and side yard. It was a big project including grading and was completed in 5 weeks. His team arrived early Mon-Fri and George was even on site to ensure the concrete pouring and key details were communicated to his team. Plus, we had a baby on the way and George ensured that our nest was ready with no delay and shenanigans/excuses. George and his team did a great job. George's communication to me from the start to end was excellent. Thank you to George and his team. I would definitely recommend!

Section of new concrete along side of house (to back).

Recently had Primo replace a section of my side yard where the concrete adjacent to the house was cracked and moving down hill - water was undermining sidewalk and causing damage to it. Job required removal of fence attached to damaged section, demo/removal of existing concrete, grading/trenching for the new section, and then pour of new concrete. Primo designed a solid footing to keep new section from experiencing the same failure. Results speak for themselves - straight lines, good downhill grade, no concern of water pooling, nice texture (had Primo match existing salt finish of adjacent concrete), and nice seams where new and old concrete come together (had Primo round the corners of the cut sections of concrete to make them match look of new section). Very happy with results. Used Primo before and I'll use them again. Any issues, the owner George is very responsive and easy to work with, decades of experience. Always small issues with any job, but George makes it right. Competitive pricing as always.

Final results! We are so happy !

We worked with George and his crew recently and are absolutely happy with the results. We used to have a back yard full of pebble rocks and random pavers to cover up the damage from the dogs digging. Now we can fully utilize our whole area and no more dookie rocks!! Job was done in 3days and waited a few extra days for the final pour so it took around 6/7 days. We are so happy with our results !

    Patio

Primo Concrete did an excellent job installing a paver patio in my backyard, a concrete walkway on the side of my house, and a drainage system. It was a pleasure communicating with George and every member of his crew. George was very quick to respond to my text messages and answered all of my questions. He gave me good ideas when we first met to plan the project. He even got the project done a little ahead of schedule when I asked if he could get it done by a certain date. George has decades of experience and does very good quality work. The project cost was in line with what I researched it would cost and I thought it was a good value for all the work they did and the high quality. I highly recommend Primo Concrete.

    Front porch after

George and crew came back to my house, a couple of years after round one. This time they did a large patio, stoop, my front porch, and replaced my driveway. I'm impressed by the longevity of this crew. It seems they've all been working together 20-30 years. That says a lot about a company. Thanks to the team for a terrific job on my finishing touches!

Top is before, bottom is after!

Amazing service and great work. Really happy with results and professionalism throughout the project. George kept in constant contact which I really appreciate.

Highly recommend Primo Concrete for your next hardscape project. They did a great job on our retaining wall and paver driveway/sidewalks. George is the owner, very professional, and a wonderful person. He came by every day during the project to see how things were progressing and to talk to us in case we had any questions. Vincent was the foreman who did our demolition, and he made ensure everything went smoothly with no damages to our property or the utilities. Juan was the foreman who built the retaining wall and installed our pavers. Juan did amazing job and takes pride in his work. Please support Primo Concrete, a locally owned company, for your next hardscape project!

This is the third project that I have completed with George and is the most impressive. The scope of work included removal of all shrubs, construct a retaining wall between the two properties, pour new slabs on each side of these two properties, raise the entire front yard with a cmu block wall with a stucco finish, frame and pour the new steps, backfill and prep for the new turf tying into an existing concrete court yard that George had completed 15 years ago. This was a design build as you go as George is open to you working step by step with his crew to ensure you get the end product desired. Extremely happy with the outcome.

    Pad for back yard spa

Primo put in a pad for our new spa. They responded quickly, were easy to work with, and had an affordable price. When we had to make last minute changes, George himself jumped on it and took care of it effortlessly. I recommend Primo.

Sometimes there just aren't enough stars to rate a company. We interviewed six different contractors and decided to go with George and Primo. We're so glad we did. They were in the "range" of the other estimates, not the cheapest and nowhere near the one insane price we got from one other company. Now seeing the final result, the value for the price is off the charts. His workers are artisans, they took their time, brick-by-brick, and made sure everything was perfect. They communicated with us throughout the project to be sure we would be happy. As you can see from the photos, they took an ugly, 80 year old cracked concrete mess and turned it into a beautiful work of art.

Ask the Community - Primo Concrete

I need some concrete removed in my backyard. Do you do these kind of jobs?

Excellent company great guys. The owner comes everyday to supervise the men. The men were very good workers. The work turned out exactly as we planned. No surprises. George had my old fence demolished before the concrete construction began.…

Do you do retaining wall and concrete steps, also do you handle permits as well? If so, I'd like an estimate?

They did a fantastic job with mine. I didn’t think mine could be repaired, but Primo did.

Hi do you guys stain red brick?

    Sorry no.

I have an ugly old concrete slab that I would like resurfaced. Do you resurface concrete. What are cost effective options? Thanks

Steve, I'm sorry I do not do that type of work. George Koury / Primo Concrete

When pouring concrete pool deck is this done before or after pool remodel?

Hello Theresa, the concrete decking is done after all the demo is done & the new coping is installed & before the plaster. Thanks George Koury

Do you do any small concrete grinding? A tree root lifted up the front center of my garage floor and the auto garage door won't stay down. If I had to replace the floor I would but grinding would help temporarily.

I do not provide that service. George Koury

I'm wondering if there is anyone you work with that could build a granny flat for us?

    I'm sorry no. George Koury

We are interested in adding a cement pad for a carport and adding a driveway. Does your company draft and submit permits for the driveway?

I'm sorry I do not draw plans or get the permits. Sorry George

Do you offer landscape design/architecture services as well? Thank you.

Sorry I do not. George Koury

They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

Then I received the bid the next day. After we went into contract his team showed up and started the work. It was started on Monday and pouring concrete on Saturday. They were great to work with and respected our house. What I especially appreciated was the care they took to ensure nothing around the house was damaged. This was a pleasant experience and I would recommend SK Concrete to anyone for their big or small project.

I was given an excellent variety of bricks/blocks to choose for the wall, and the one I chose was competently installed. I was pleased to note the block I chose would be sourced from RCP in Chula Vista, where I have been a regular customer. The two workers agreed to relocate the existing pavers for my reuse as part of the original job. I really appreciated that. Although I was in no hurry, the job was completed quite expeditiously with the exception of the iron gate, the installation of which was subcontracted (and reviewed separately). The final results please me immensely. A&F solved a major problem, and I recommend the company to all.

In the process, Adam and team broke the stairs immediately, and reassembled them with screws sticking out and chunks broken remains used to "level" the remaining stairs (photos of all work attached.) While on site, Adam asked for "200-300$" outside of the scope of the signed contract for the same work that would have been done with or without the additional request. Through the phone exchanges and emails regarding these issues Adam was arrogant and dismissive, yet also took blame for the stairs and will not resolve the issue. Adam's team poured our concrete before a heavy rain, but failed to redirect a gutter (as it had originally been before construction) from pouring directly onto the concrete causing a water stain from the pooling water on the fresh concrete. Again, when confronted with this issue and asking for a resolution Adam denied blame and said "wait a year".
