Superb dining place a bit off the crowded tourist routes. As we tried to round up the day and find a decent place for dinner, the city center proved to be very touristy both in attitude and menu items. Some (like El Pinton) were excessively arrogant. Torres y Garcia, slightly off the main routes, was a supreme choice in a cool modern ambiance, super friendly staff and most importantly, excessively delicious food. Brioche Sardina ahumada, patatas bravas, ensalada de calabacines, burrata - and top of all an octopus (pulpo asado) that was so tender that it almost melted on the tongue! That's the test! Oh boy, this restaurant was absolutely amazing! Out of all the places we've tried, it definitely ranks in the top 3. I went for lunch as soon as it opened and tried to eat as much of the menu as I could. The pizza was delicious, but the star of the show was the fish over fennel sauce. It was absolutely incredible! 5 stars for the pompelo spritz (grapefruit + cava). It was an extremely busy day (maybe the norm for them on a weekend though) and we didn't have reservations. Fortunately they let us put our names on a waitlist and were able to get a table when we returned 30 min later around 230pm. However, we then proceeded to spend 2.5 hours at this restaurant despite only ordering 4 dishes. I know it's Spanish time but I think 2.5 hours is way too long for a meal. The waiter did apologize a few times stating that the kitchen was a bit slow that day. FOOD: Zucchini salad- thinly shaved zucchini, good but interestingly enough had like an Asian type of tangy sesame dressing Patatas bravas- maybe our 3rd favorite patatas bravas of our trip... so A-OK Scallops- ok, maybe slightly tough, sauce was good Pork chop- tasty but nothing amazing Overall, the food was pretty good but not mind-blowing and certainly not worth the slow service and waiting. Wow wow wow!!! I came here with my husband and 2 friends we all loved EVERYTHING that we tried. We had been looking for a more traditional tapas menu but passed by Torres y Garcia and loved the atmosphere so we asked for a table. They had just opened and were empty - but soon afterwards it was PACKED! I would recommend a reservation if you can plan ahead. We LOVED the Patatas bravas the best...they were the best I've ever had and I wish had more time to go back and order them again! The seasonal vegetables were also incredible - so perfectly charred with a really yummy sauce. That's how you'll know it's time to come to Torres y Garcia's. This place is so cool. Great location, modern but cosy interior, and a seasonal menu with fantastic wine selection. You will stay here for hours forgetting everything and immersing yourself in witty conversation fueled by great food and wine. We started with zucchini and mango salad in Thai dressing which was so fresh I almost ordered 2nds. We followed this great palette cleanser with roasted cabbage dish, which was so filling probably because of being covered in delicious Spanish extra virgin olive oil. The next dish was super generous portion of tuna glazed with honey. While not a winner for me because I didn't think the combination worked, my husband was happy he didn't have to share it with me. We finished it with cheese board for dessert and it was outstanding. Our waiter was interested in what we were ordering, available to make wine pairing recommendation, and really engaged and vested in us enjoying ourselves. I was looking for great food and dining experience. This place isn't it. There a lot of tapas places in Seville, and this place was expensive. I guess I was expecting too much. What I got was a trendy looking tapa place with fast but cold service. And they nickel and dimed us for a large 'bread fee'. I googled about this now, and people frown on this practice. No, it's not a Spanish custom. I would not have noticed except the total bread fee for 5 of us was as much as a dish. Wait staff mumbled something as it's part of service. We did not touch the bread btw because the bread looked yucky. The food overall was good as conversation pieces. "It's interesting that they added this spice to ..... and ....". Probably best for being out on town getting drinks. But, none of us were wowed by the flavor saying we would come back to have a particular dish. I wondered if they were trying too much. And I love fusion tapas. The octopus was best. The kobe beef was disappointing and hard to cut through. Our wait person side eyed us at times but were not friendly nor come to check in on us. This was a wonderful find! The papas bravas and the zucchini salad had amazing flavors and is a MUST order. I got the Iberian Pork Chop and it was super flavorful as well. My husband got the fish of the day with a few fish bones at the end. He would have been happier without the fishy crispy skin. I recommend the Pork very much! There was no wait. I am very understanding when coming to a restaurant at a busy time, but after waiting a long time to have our order taken and well over an hour and a half waiting for food, as well as waiting forever to pay, we were hungry enough to wish we had gone elsewhere. I got the sea bass with Sevillian mole, baby cobs and watercress, which was good. The mole sauce was very tasty, and the fish itself was fine. This dish is a modest portion. It's not too busy when you go around the opening time in the afternoon, but I recommend making a reservation beforehand to get one of the well-lit tables facing the big windows outside. read more

Service is fine (some foreign language could be further improvement for the place, but the charme of the staff helps to understand each another). For some reason when I searched for restaurants near me this place did not come up. We stopped by first attracted by its remarkable design and sleek looks and it turned out that the food matched the attractive packaging. We were lucky to be sitter right away while a larger party of 8 was turned down due to the lack of space. We tried four dishes that equally dazzled especially the very unusual green risotto but glancing at the neighbor's pizza I regretted not ordering one of their flatbreads, it looked particularly good with a small mound of arugula in the middle a bit charred around the edges, just the way I like it. We decided to go back again the next day and try the flatbread but in the end decided against it opting for the dishes that promised something new. This time we tried spinach crepe that tasted like a vegetable lasagna and linguine with a beet sauce in lieu of tomato. Both very good. In the end we heroically wolfed down two desserts and managed to slowly take our distended bodies back to the hotel. I inquired with the waiter about the name of the place and it turned other to stand for the names of the owners. I learned that they have four of them in Seville. This is such a disappointing place. My husband and I decided to try this place on our last day in Seville. We walked in to this restaurant at 19:30 and was told the restaurant opens at 20:30 and we need come back in one hour. We asked if we need to make a reservation first, and was told it's not necessary. We didn't want walk around and found a bar on next street to wait for the restaurant to open. At 20:35, we walked in to the restaurant, the floor manager (with glasses) told us they do not have any table for us without reservation where half of the tables on the floor are clearly still empty!!! I told him I was just here one hour ago and was informed no reservation is needed. He then said there is nothing he could do and we have to wait for 50 mins. And he said the normal dinner time in Seville is after 9:30pm anyways... Why would I go to a restaurant at 7:30pm to find out opening time if I want to eat at 9:30pm!!!! I DO NOT understand how could this restaurant be a viaMichelin restaurant with this type of attitude. Worst restaurant experience during my entire trip!!! read more

So this place was actually right down the street from the airbnb that we stayed in. We were originally looking for another restaurant that our airbnb had recommended when we saw it. When we found out that our original restaurant was closed we decided to give Torred y Garcia a try. They seated us right away even without a reservation. We ordered two tapas for three people and then each got a main course. I'm not sure of the name in Spanish but the creamy vegetable risotto was delicious!! The papas braves were pretty good. My friend said her salmon was the best salmon she's ever had. I ordered the hamburger slider which was pretty good as well! All of the staff were super friendly and patient with our broken Spanish. Dining at a top rated restaurant should be a pleasurable experience, one to be remembered and talked about with friends. I was made to feel like I was not welcome in this restaurant due to my nationality and not being able to speak Spanish when communicating with the server. There were numerous other guests speaking in English when ordering, AND the menu had dishes listed in both English and Spanish. Our server stated that we shouldn't speak to him in English. He was also very rude when we tried to order drinks from the bar. He was unaware of the types of drinks offered by the bar. We ordered a few bottles of Ribera del Duero "Pago de Capellanes" and it was great. The risotto, the solomillo and other dishes were delicious as well.
