Well it was certainly a festive environment but unless you're deaf or a teenager, or you're okay with locking yourself in the bathroom for the evening, the noise level is simply unbearable. This includes speakers, a karaoke singer and a tuba player. We even used ear plugs and you still can't avoid the 100+ AVERAGE decibel level - think of it like having a chainsaw running by your ears constantly which alters your ability to make simple decisions like 'what would you like to drink?' Speaking of drinks, the bar is spacious and showy. We did order top shelf margaritas to dull our senses, and they were solid. After a long waiting period, we also received a yummy ceviche appetizer. They offer different hot sauces too. Unfortunately, we decided not to stay for more dishes and risk damaging our ear drums. It is noteworthy that this was opening night and there's a lot for the management to consider if they want patrons to return. One star plus bonus points for effort and an a generally cheerful staff - so rounding to a 2. That's all...

Me and the wife drove by this place the other day so we decided to spin the block and give them a try. First thing we noticed is that its nice and roomy inside. Plenty of tables and the music was great. Staff was real nice and answered all of our questions. My wife ordered the bbq ribs and our server recommended this spicy habanero shrimp dish for me to try. My wife said the ribs were good, nice and flavorful and the sauce was a great pairing with the ribs. My shrimp dish was delicious, great flavor but not that spicy. Overall we have a great experience and will be returning to try some other specialy items they have on the menu.

Supposedly to be a chicken tortilla soup

We had a very disappointing dining experience. We first ordered a tequila drink, and it was terrible--poor flavor and what seemed to be very low-quality tequila. We then ordered two chicken tortilla soups, which were not good at all. To make matters worse, the soups arrived with meat that did not appear to be chicken. When I questioned the waitress, she responded that it was chicken and that only the condiments had changed the color. Unfortunately, the explanation did not match what was served. Overall, the food quality, drinks, and service were very disappointing. What should have been an enjoyable dinner turned into a very unpleasant experience.

Great vibes, but a total service meltdown I really wanted to love this place after seeing it on Instagram, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere is lovely, but the restaurant was severely understaffed with only two waiters running back and forth between both sides of the building. I actually felt uncomfortable and embarrassed for them, but it made for a stressful dining experience. The food arrived cold, and while the Chicharron ($19) was the only tasty thing we had, they only had one left in the kitchen, so we couldn't even get a full order. The "surprise" birthday churro was put together right in front of us (so much for the surprise) and was also cold. To top it off, we had to ask three different people twice for the check before eventually giving up and walking to the front to pay ourselves just so we could leave. If you need a to-go box, forget it; you'll be there all night waiting. All in all way OVERPRICED not coming back

    Having fun!

The food was good. The mango margaritas were wonderful. Jocelyn was our server. She was the best. Family owned business that needs the community support.

Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. It took about 20-30 minutes for her to come back and take our food order after we placed our initial drink orders with her. Throughout the dinner, her demeanor felt very passive aggressive, and there were several moments where we felt like we were being given attitude despite everyone in our group being polite. My friend asked for extra olives with his martini and she responded with a rude "Really?" while making a face. It was such an unnecessary reaction to a totally simple and normal request. She also recommended that we order family style, which we followed, but the pacing between courses was extremely slow. We waited around 30+ minutes between our pasta and our protein entrees. For a restaurant that specifically recommends family style dining, the courses should be paced more appropriately so the table isn't sitting around waiting for the next round of food. The birthday cake situation was also frustrating. We had given our cake to the hostess when we arrived, but I guess our server was never notified of that. When I asked about a candle, she said she would bring it out with the birthday dessert, but brought out the restaurant's dessert instead. When she realized we had our own cake, she immediately took the bill back and said she needed to add the cake fee. The issue with that was we weren't asking them to cut or plate the cake. We just wanted to sing Happy Birthday, then have it boxed back up. She had assumed we wanted the cake service without actually asking us, and when we clarified, her response was, "Well, that's why I asked earlier," even though she hadn't actually asked us. None of us gave her a hard time or were anything but polite throughout the evening, which made the repeated attitude especially disappointing. The food wasn't terrible and the drinks were great, the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but spending around $900, which included a 20% automatic gratuity, you'd expect the service to match the price point, even though service should always be good regardless. Unfortunately, the poor service really overshadowed what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner for my friend and left all of us with a bad taste in our mouths.

The staff is all smartly dressed; the bartender and bar back were both sweet and funny. I ordered a jack rose (my all time favorite), their seasonal watermelon waltz (this may be a new favorite for me, nice and refreshing) and one of their zero proof cocktails called a Mariposa which was soooo good as well. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.

The menfolk ordered Fajitas Trio Chef's Special, $32.99, and Shrimp Fajitas, $24.99, while the women ordered Quesa-Fritas, $18.99, and Asada Street Tacos, $16.99. My Asada Street Tacos came with three little cups of guacamole, onions/cilantro, and a spicy orange sauce, plus rice and beans. I took a little taste of the orange sauce before putting it on my tacos and quickly realized it would be too spicy for my tummy. I probably should've asked if they had pico de gallo, which would've been perfect for these tacos. I liked my tacos, but thought the rice was dry and beans needed more flavor. Overall, everyone liked their entrees, but we had leftovers to bring home. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't offer combo plates since I like to enjoy a cheese enchilada and taco. They didn't even have a cheese enchilada on their menu. They are open at 9 a.m. for the breakfast crowd and offer breakfast and vegetarian options as well. Will we return? Sure. I am certainly open to returning and trying their fish tacos or fish 'n chips!
