Toro Mambo did NOT disappoint! Everything we tried--from the appetizers and guacamole & chips to the main dishes and drinks--was absolutely spot on with flavor. I'm super picky, and they somehow managed to make everything exactly to my liking. Every dish had the perfect amount of flavor without anything being overpowering. Everything just worked so well together! The mocktail I had was DELICIOUS! And the popping boba was such a fun and unique touch--I hadn't had it in a drink like that before! The staff was also super nice, welcoming, and attentive. The only downside was the little flies, which were definitely annoying. The location itself isn't the best, but honestly, don't let that stop you from walking inside because the atmosphere is really nice! Of the 3 photos I posted, I'd rate the flavor of the corn first, empanadas, then the tuna! But I'm also not the biggest seafood person, so others might say different! I was there today at toro mambo, I was pretty surprised, how it looks, I had a lot bad comments about the place, but, it looks like everything had changed even owners. Now it's a Mexican regional food which they have different dishes from All regions in Mexico . had the New York with mole it was delicious, super happy perfect temperature, rich flavor, it remind me when, I Was in Mexico, in the the super mercados you get explosions of flavors which I love it. I also got the Chile relleno, the best I ever had . Mexican wine selection: Everything was delicious and the place atmosphere was stunning where you can actually talk to, you friends . I visited Toro Mambo during the week and ordered the chicharrones with guacamole as an appetizer. For our main dishes, we had the fajitas mixtas, pulpo zarandeado, and grilled salmon. Overall, none of the dishes were particularly memorable or unique. The fajitas, in particular, could have used more seasoning and flavor. Another downside was the wait time for the food, which was surprisingly long considering we were the only group dining in the restaurant at the time. On a positive note, there is plenty of parking available in the shopping center. The restaurant is nicely decorated inside, creating a pleasant atmosphere, and it also features a bar area for those looking to enjoy drinks with their meal. read more

We had an amazing time celebrating my nephew's birthday. The area is a little older, but once inside you're transported to a different world. From the vibrant color scheme to the velvet dining chairs, they spared no expense. The menu features elevated dishes from family recipes and different regions in Mexico. They also have a creative cocktail menu along with wines from Baja, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The owner even walked us through a mezcal tasting that included the history of the spirit and its different types. Although they have only been open a week, they operate efficiently and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Service was excellent and we felt very well taken care of. We all raved about the food with the only exception being the flan. I suspect the heat was too high when they cooked it. Overall, Toro Mambo gave us an experience worthy of a family birthday celebration and we look forward to coming back. read more

Well it was certainly a festive environment but unless you're deaf or a teenager, or you're okay with locking yourself in the bathroom for the evening, the noise level is simply unbearable. This includes speakers, a karaoke singer and a tuba player. We even used ear plugs and you still can't avoid the 100+ AVERAGE decibel level - think of it like having a chainsaw running by your ears constantly which alters your ability to make simple decisions like 'what would you like to drink?' Speaking of drinks, the bar is spacious and showy. We did order top shelf margaritas to dull our senses, and they were solid. After a long waiting period, we also received a yummy ceviche appetizer. They offer different hot sauces too. Unfortunately, we decided not to stay for more dishes and risk damaging our ear drums. It is noteworthy that this was opening night and there's a lot for the management to consider if they want patrons to return. A Fun New Breakfast lunch, and dinner Find in San Jose Ever since this building was remodeled, I've been curious to stop in and see what opened here. It's been a Mexican restaurant for years, but it recently reopened as Toro Mamba. By chance, my wife and I noticed they were open for breakfast, so we decided to give it a try. It's still new, so not many people seem to know about it yet. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed walking around the beautiful dining room and bar -- lots of fun decorations and a great atmosphere. The staff was very kind and took time to show us the menus and talk about what they're excited to offer. For breakfast, we both ordered the breakfast burritos and coffee, which the server recommended. Excellent call on the coffee -- it had a rich cinnamon flavor, very much a Mexican-style coffee, and absolutely delicious. The burritos were also excellent and surprisingly large. We each ate half for breakfast and saved the rest for later -- great value and just as tasty the second time around. Service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Before leaving, we both used the restroom and found them to be very clean -- consistent with the overall care and atmosphere of the restaurant. We left happy and are already looking forward to coming back to try lunch or dinner -- the dinner menu had a lot of tempting choices. It's a big, unique space with a lot of personality. Me and the wife drove by this place the other day so we decided to spin the block and give them a try. First thing we noticed is that its nice and roomy inside. Plenty of tables and the music was great. Staff was real nice and answered all of our questions. My wife ordered the bbq ribs and our server recommended this spicy habanero shrimp dish for me to try. My wife said the ribs were good, nice and flavorful and the sauce was a great pairing with the ribs. My shrimp dish was delicious, great flavor but not that spicy. We had a very disappointing dining experience. We first ordered a tequila drink, and it was terrible--poor flavor and what seemed to be very low-quality tequila. We then ordered two chicken tortilla soups, which were not good at all. To make matters worse, the soups arrived with meat that did not appear to be chicken. When I questioned the waitress, she responded that it was chicken and that only the condiments had changed the color. Unfortunately, the explanation did not match what was served. Great vibes, but a total service meltdown I really wanted to love this place after seeing it on Instagram, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere is lovely, but the restaurant was severely understaffed with only two waiters running back and forth between both sides of the building. I actually felt uncomfortable and embarrassed for them, but it made for a stressful dining experience. The food arrived cold, and while the Chicharron ($19) was the only tasty thing we had, they only had one left in the kitchen, so we couldn't even get a full order. The "surprise" birthday churro was put together right in front of us (so much for the surprise) and was also cold. To top it off, we had to ask three different people twice for the check before eventually giving up and walking to the front to pay ourselves just so we could leave. This establishment has the worst service I have EVER experienced. The menu was limited due to the holiday to help the kitchen with the demand but that was not the problem. Only one staff member seemed to know what they were doing. I ordered the Molcajete platter , which was brought first . It took an additional 30 minutes for the other items in our party to arrive. We ordered two appetizers (guacamole, shrimp empanadas) and only one was brought to our table. Our server seemed new and we not could hear her when ordering . We could see that other customer were leaving their tables with platters not even touched. Like the others we also left most of plates not touched. The most upsetting part of this experience was the ridiculous prices for the food. With those prices you would at the least expect great customer service. Avoid this place. read more

we made a group reservation for 10 people for opening night, the reservation was confirm twice once we arrived we were told we didn't have a reservation. Better communication with your staff they were rude about it and then put us in a corner and ignored us for the next 30 min we all drove from far away for your staff to treat us the way they did.
