First time at a Torchy's. I like the devilish theme. The cashier had a bit of an attitude going. Almost rude but more akin to Dick's Last Resort. Was thinking maybe it's part of the whole "Hell" theme? But honestly I think they just had a bad day or needed a coffee break. The food was okay. I got the Two Step combo and selected the Trailer Park taco and the Pork Green Chili taco. The combo also came with chips, and I also got a side of green chili sauce for dipping. Honestly, everything was just okay. I did enjoy the crispy fried chicken crunch in the Trailer Park taco, though, and the chips were fresh which these days is a blessing. So, would I go back? Probably not. However, the location is pretty convenient, and there's a nice patio where you can bring your pets. If you're waiting for someone at the mall and don't feel like shopping or hanging out in the food court, it's an option. Just don't expect me to rush back for the food or service. read more

Ordered the $20 double feature. 6 carne asada tacos on corn with beans, rice, two drinks, and for valentines weekend an order of churros. Tacos were fresh and tasty. Today we stopped in for breakfast burritos and tacos. Pros: The restaurant was clean, and the takeout area was well organized. The bar area looked nice. There were plenty of TVs throughout the space. Great for a large party. Cons: The self-service ordering kiosks are a good idea in theory, but they don't work well without an associate available to help customers. Everyone seemed to take a long time placing their orders, which slowed things down. As for the food, I left still hungry after receiving just one small taco. The taco itself wasn't flavorful unless I added salsa. Overall, the experience didn't meet my expectations, and I wouldn't return. My husband and I stopped by Torchy's for lunch because we were starving, and I had one question in mind: does the queso live up to the commercial? I could drink that queso, so I had high hopes. Ordering was off to a weird start since everything is done on a touchscreen with no greeting, and the system feels more complicated than it needs to be. The taco menu is messy and not very appealing...why is there teriyaki sauce on a taco? The only thing that caught my attention was the steak fajita taco, which I never order at a real taquería, but we went for it anyway. We ordered two steak fajita tacos, a Crossroads taco, pinto beans, and the Hillbilly Queso. The staff was friendly when they brought the food and service was quick. The queso was delicious, the pinto beans were good but could be better, and the tacos were the biggest disappointment: all the tortillas were cold, the steak had a nice grilled flavor, and the brisket was dry. I've had gourmet tacos with bold, thoughtful combinations (even grasshoppers)and street tacos made from every part of the cow, but Torchy's combinations feel like a 4‑year‑old raided the fridge and threw random things into a taco as a joke. We love the food here but every time we come I order a taco and specifically ask for Roja salsa. The calories matter to me. Never do I get it when the food is brought out every time I have to ask again. This last time I asked and the server forgot r the correct salsa the server left to go get it and never returned. Then I look at my taco and it has a 90 calorie salsa applied to my taco. I don't want to eat 90 calories of Avacado salsa. So odd you can't get a taco your way ever! read more

Clean, fast, efficient location. Arrived around 12:15, ordered in person, not at one of the two available kiosks. Chips and queso came out as we got our drinks. Tacos came out shortly thereafter. When we were done someone took our plates, noticed we still had some queso and brought us a reload of chips-lived that! Manager went to every table asking guests how their experience was. Some of the best tacos around. A huge variety of tacos that you can order and all of them are good. Pork, chicken, shrimp and salmon are some of the many different types of tacos that you can get. Food is tasty and has a good range of spiciness. My wife does not like spicy foods and she can get tacos here and loves them. Meanwhile, I love spicy foods and can get spicy tacos and load them with Diablo sauce. Also, when you go, get the queso. They put Diablo sauce, Cojita cheese, cilantro,and guacamole in it. This torchy's is clean looks great has great people working at it. The food is good. The only complaint is they give much less food here at the torchy's in The Woodlands then at other torchy's. The chips we ordered large and it looks like they gave us half of a small order. Maybe 20 chips for $8. Each of the tacos, we had the chicken, had only one thin strip of chicken in them. I had The Matador, and The Ace of Spades, which we came to the conclusion that when anyone orders the Ace of Spades they should sing it like Motorhead. It made the ordering so much fun. Both tacos were loaded and omg good af. You have to check out the picture. We had house Margaritas (because we earned them at the gym). I'm sad that this place has bad reviews. Because genuinely from my recent visit, I was moderately happy. I recently had a bad experience at the conroe location with terrible service, so I was delightfully welcomed to a calming environment, in a convenient location, with workers who were nice and compassionate. Not only is the service nice, but their hours are an extra 30 minutes longer than most torchy's. The food was very consistent and even though we took take out, we were very happy with the tacos. But on the downside, we also ordered chips and salsa and when we made it home there was no chips in sight, just salsa. So we ended up having to drive to HEB to grab tortilla chips. While it was a fun adventure, it was not fun getting ready to eat and seeing that what you paid for wasn't there. If you're in the area and have never had torchy's tacos before. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. But if you're taking takeout, make sure to check the bag before you drive off. read more

Every person I've ever met from Texas has urged me emphatically to try Torchy's, and I've had to tell all 3 of them that Torchy's is the most overrated taco spot that I have ever tried in Texas and it ain't got SHIT on What-a-burger. None whatsoever. The only thing worth ordering here is the queso. And that's only in a situation that your friend drags you here and it would be rude not to order anything. In other words don't go out of your way to stop for it. It's hard to put into words but it felt sterile, impersonal, and awful. This Torchys is very good. It is also much larger than others I have been to so you will always find a table. The food is as expected, good tacos! Not the best, but those are hard to find. Especially since their pico/hot sauce is tasty but not hot. If I bring my own hot sauce this may change the taco stars. But, that will be for next time. Went here because we wanted some good tacos and the one in the vintage has a great rep. Apparently that's not the same at "The Woodlands" location. First thing we noticed was the cleanliness. None of the tables were wiped down, and there was still leftover chips and queso at the bar from a previous customer. Keep in mind we were in the parking lot for about 10mins and no one came in or out. Even the bar was filthy, the chairs had wet shoe prints on them as if someone just used them to step on recently. The drink menus at the bar were very dirty and had food all over them when they were handed to us. It was a huge turn down, so we ordered only chips and queso. The chips were very stale. We do not recommend this location to anyone. I don't know how this building passes any health inspections, absolutely filthy. Yummy. I'm a big fan of this taco joint and have been since I first enjoyed visiting their place in Austin, Texas where they started. I don't know if you can really call them Mexican Tacos but then again when you have good food wrapped in a tortilla, how else can you describe them? I've had tacos with a myriad of fillings but in this case I would venture out and call them Tex-Mex tacos. My favorite are the brisket tacos called the "Crossroads". They come with a slice of avocado and if you order the tacos in corn tortillas, they serve them with two tortillas which I use to make two tacos with the generous amount of filling they serve. What I like about this location is that their tortillas are made there, in-house! Fresh in-house tortillas makes a difference in flavor! Drop in and tell them Gabriel sent you. My wife and I stopped by Torchy's at the Woodlands mall for lunch. We didn't know much about the place, but we thought we'd give it a try. The Tacos were great, we tried an assortment and they were all good. The pork green chile taco was my personal favorite. We also had the queso and chips which were great. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. There were some folks sitting at the bar, but a good mix of couples, friends and family. A cool hangout for lunch or dinner. The service is very slow. The person that delivered the food tonight did not have good hygiene. 3. Tonight we were served queso in disposal cups... I'm assuming because no bowls were clean. It was horrible, the barbacoa tasted like old shoes, The Democrats fruit was so hard I could not chew it and the salt content was off the charts. I was not the only one who had similar issues.
