My second time here and ordered Wrangler and fried avocado over the phone. Slight one minute wait, no prob. Another wait, 5 minutes, in line to pick them up. They're usually bz when I go, can be a good sign. I know the food from the location on Preston is superb. However it appears they are short staffed here, and tho my ticket reads right I end up with 1 Wrangler and a ranch something with beans on it. Hmmm. Like Fuzzys their togo taco is messy-- unwrapping you get cheese, lettuce etc. falling out everywhere. Corn tortillias taste great but shred and flake off. Seems like they're frantic scatterbrained in the kitchen. Ingredients compete with Velvet Taco and a couple others but with just a little more effort Torchy's could rule them all! read more

Great place to get tacos, they have a wide menu with all kinds of variations and their own spin on tacos. The staff was very friendly and helpful wth all my newbie questions. The queso is different but my new favorite queso. They do a scoop of guacamole in the middle, some cilantro and a really yummy sauce drizzled on top! So worth it. This place has great tacos. The tacos are unique. They give you a different selection of tacos. One of my favorite taco spots hands down. On the flip side the service sucks!!!! I love Torchy's! It is by far my favorite taco place in Dallas. This location, however, has left a bitter taste in my mouth a couple of times now. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or their kitchen is not equipped to handle the capacity of such a large location, but our order has been lost the last two times we have gone. The Manager was very apologetic and comped our meal last time. It's just a shame because this is the newest and closest one to me and it just seems that they haven't found their footing. They have some of the best damn queso I've ever had. It's pretty spicy but absolutely delicious. The chicken fajita tacos are so good and packed with chicken. There strip tacos are super delicious, the batter on the shrimp is like none other. It is pretty crowded on the weekends so if you plan on going expect a wait. read more

The food was great. My problem was with the service. So I arrive to the takeout line. When the person in front of me left I stepped up to get my order. The staffer was VERY DISTRACTED the entire transaction. For starters she was looking around the register for something for a while, neglecting to say anything about asking us to wait or for our order name. She did her business without acknowledging we were there waiting for her assistance. After that, as she was getting our cash change, she was approached by a coworker and stood there with our change (the only thing we needed to leave) in her hand. It was ready for us to receive but she just stood there like we were invisible or not worth her attention. I did not grab her name but she was blonde with curly hair around 20-30 years old. She should get a review on BASIC customer service like greeting and quickly serving giving attention to the customers needs. I am huge breakfast taco fan and my experience at Torchy's this morning was an utter disappointment. The place only had a handful of people in it and yet it took them what felt like an eternity to produce my food. Then I neglected to check my carry out bag before I left and of course they left out one taco, which I did not discover until I got home. The ones that did make it into the bag were a disaster--corn tortillas that disintegrated in your hands and the level of fill varied very significantly (one seemed to have stuffing for three tacos, another barely enough to fill). The only positive thing I can say about this experience is that the guy at the register was super friendly and nice... Unfortunately a friendly face at the register is not enough to bring me back. read more

In a word- phenomenal. This gem took me by surprise. I was expecting your run of the mill taco joint, but this place is leaps and bounds beyond that. From the happy hour house margaritas, to what HAS to be the best queso in the world, I left there feeling like I'd stolen something from having achieved the epitome of satisfaction from a meal...for cheap! The waiters were kind of busy and less attentive that I'd have liked and the water cups are only a size larger than a shot glass. Otherwise, no complaints about torchy's. The food was great, fantastic tacos! But the customer service... OMG. Horrible!!! Front counter was terribly slow. Nice guy but a sloth would be quicker. Bar tenders- the worse. We ordered a drink to be delivered to the table, waited 5 minutes and went to get it, bartender looked at me, turned away, said I'll be right back and walked into the kitchen. My drink was fitting in the counter so I too it. Asked for refills on our chips, the staff said they'd go get it, he walked into the kitchen, two minutes later he walked out and right to the cash register, no chips. I came here to drink and of course have great tacos. Tacos were great, the service at the bar was terrible. I don't know who put Regina behind the bar. First off, I walked up to the bar and she told me seats taken. I moved on to a table. I stood at the bar for 8-10 minutes before she asked for my I'd. I ordered a beer for my friend and I. She took 5 more minutes walking out ids behind the bar. 5 more minutes later I'm still waiting on my beer. I sat down at my table thinking she would just bring it to us because it was taking so long and my food was getting cold. She hollered at me to come back up to the bar to get my beer. Once I came back up to bar she asked for a card to keep tab open. As I pulled it out she walked away again. Stood there for 5 minutes with my food getting even colder. I will probably will never be back to this restaurant because of her. Or at least not even walk in if I see her working. I would have at least blew $100 more on drinks with my friend and I. I have been to this location three times for take away and it has been terrific each and every time. The food tastes good and is fresh, the prices are reasonable, and I have had awesome Customer Service every time despite the large crowds. But what happened today when I called this location about allergen information for a Relative amazed me, because of the great Customer Service that I received from a manager at the store. He took the call quickly, knew his product and delivered the needed information. On top of that, He called me back on my cell phone minutes later to tell me one more additional detail and relayed that information. Wow, Customer Service still lives on! I ordered 3 tacos to go and proceeded to wait 30 minutes to get my order. I waited patiently as it was a busy day before politely asking if they had forgotten about my order. Turns out my bag was misplaced and when it was finally located, the bag was shoved at me and my number card yanked away by who I assumed to be the manager that day. Not even a courtesy "sorry for the wait". I'm still confused as to why I was glared at to wait 30 minutes for cold soggy tacos. I understand restaurants can get hectic and mistakes are made, but that is no excuse to treat customers this way. I can only hope that better customer service will come with experience. read more

Best street tacos in the USA and I've traveled all over the US. You might say, I'm a taco expert :), but the last 2 times, Ive dined at Torchy's, my order was screwed up. I finished my main lunch items, but never got the queso and chips that I ordered. So I asked for a refund, they did however gave me a complimentary Queso &Chips to go.
