Ok it makes me sad to give anything less than a 5 star review to a Torchy's but it must be done. I normally live in Texas and have eaten at many Torchy's there so I'm used to amazing and quick service. Well the service tonight was less than stellar. The place was packed so I would give time leeway but it took an hour to get food. My parties food came out at such different times that it felt like we didn't even eat together. People in line far behind us got food before we did. After 30 minutes I tried to check on our missing orders and was not politely told I just needed to wait at my table. She didn't ask what number I was or how long I'd been waiting. So ya service was subpar and wait was unacceptable. The 3 stars is the food was still good Torchy's food, full of flavor. Hopefully this location works on how the kitchen handles order and its customer service. read more

Stopped in for the first time with some friends for lunch on a Saturday around noon. We arrived before our friends, and the line to order was long. After surveying the small dining room, we saw one open table, so my husband grabbed it while I stayed in line to order. While waiting our friends arrived. They do have outdoor seating, but when it's over 100 degrees outside, who really wants to sit outside to eat? Anyways, while in line, I was able to review the menu and decided on the Mr. Orange. The taco was filled with a perfectly cooked and seasoned piece of salmon and topped with corn and black Bena salsa, Cojta cheese, clinatro, and avocado sauce. I asked for no cilantro on mine ( personal choice as I do not like cilantro). The taco was delicious and was the perfect size for lunch. I also ordered a side of Mexican rice. The rice was tender and well seasoned. A perfect compliment to the taco. I felt the ambiance was a little loud and crowded, and it kind of took away from out ability to converse with our friends, but the food was good and we may be back to try another menu item. read more

TL; DR: Before you turn your car off, plug in "Rusty Taco" and go there instead. Torchy's in Texas is excellent - and they should have stayed there. Attempt 1: 20th St. and Camelback Food was "meh" but it was close to grand opening. Queso was oily and not as tasty as Texas. Kids' "chicken tenders" were inedible. We figured it was a fluke and would try again. Attempt 2: Queen Creek Fajita taco was inedible. No seasoning to it - just ingredients. Queso was still oily and awful. Attempt 3: Gilbert Waited about 10 minutes, no food - not even chips and queso. They were busy, no biggie. Went to get a refill and asked them to check on order. We were in the next couple so we waited another 15 minutes - still no food. Not even chips and queso. Went back inside and asked again - she said she'd look. Looked and our order had disappeared, had to re-order. Got cold queso, meh tacos, and a $30 fast food dinner we waited 30 minutes for. Just go to Rusty Taco. Seriously. read more

Dude, "damn good tacos" they weren't lying. My boyfriend and I came here to try it out, newly opened so we had no expectations. I got 3 tacos - the piledriver which is their featured & it was BOMB, dude so good. I got the tipsy chick as well, and was blown away by that, and then went basic for the third the 'democrat' and I was really shocked. Barbacoa had so much flavor. As someone who literally does not play about tacos & I usually stick to the Mexican pop up or hole in the wall kinda places, I was pleasantly surprised. Also, I must mention when we walked in the cashier was super smiley and happy to greet us, which is a big deal since oftentimes at new places the operations are not smooth yet. These guys really knew what they were doing & even though it was busy our food came out pretty fast! Torchy's Tacos are finally in Gilbert!!! Yay!!!!! Their flavor combinations are STUPENDOUS. Tipsy Chick, Trailer Park, and Mr. Orange are my go-tos. But all their tacos are heaven (oops, I mean H-E-Double Hockey Sticks) in your mouth. They must have made a pact with The Dark Lord because man oh man, these tacos make you want more. Now, real talk. They could be warmer, not spicier, but warmer. The tortilla and meats aren't the hottest when served but the flavors more than make up for the food temp. The ambience is casual and fun. The service is fast and friendly. Overall, excellent taco chain. They do one MEAN taco!!! read more

STOP! IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AUTHENTIC MEXICAN TACOS , THIS PLACE IS NOT IT! That being said , if you see as just a food spot that serves "gourmet" tacos , then this place is not bad. The tacos are expensive at about 5-7 dollars PER taco. They don't give you an option for corn or flower tortilla they all come in a flour type of tortilla. There is no salsa bar all the salsas come in little cups based on the taco you get. The amount of protein on each taco could use a little more portion since the tortilla is bigger than your typical street style taco. I ordered the Baja shrimp taco and that was good along with the sauce it came with . It was my favorite taco as well. I also got the democrat taco and that was good as well and my second favorite taco. IF I were to come back those would be the only two tacos I would do. I got the tipsy chicken as well and it was also good but felt like I was eating more of a wrap than a taco. My husband order different tacos that I didn't get to taste so I can't review those but with his 2 tacos and my 3 tacos and a side of guac and chips with NO DRINKS we paid 50 dollars. The staff was friendly and the food came out pretty quick. We won't be returning. I could not eat the beans bc they were way over-salted. I'm pretty sure they are canned. The salt on the chicken fajita taco meat was a bit salty too. My husband ate half of the Grande Beef Burrito as the beef was very chewy. $29 down the drain. Reported to the waitress who said thank you but didn't offer me a bean refund or alternative even though she said she thought the beans were salty too. I ordered the newest taco which I pictured, the hubs got a breakfast taco and we shared the street corn. Everything was delicious. I used to live in Houston so we're very familiar with Torchy's and eagerly awaited the opening of their new location in Gilbert. Haven't been in person yet, but we ordered takeout and it was just as good as I remembered! I really enjoyed the Trailer Park and Crossroads tacos, and my husband loves the idea of a rotating "taco of the month" - he got this month's piledriver taco and really enjoyed it, though I thought it was really sweet. We've been to 2 different locations. The Queen Creek location is by far the best. The crew at Gilbert did not see to care much about their service and seemed to not be real happy. The Gilbert music was just too loud. It is a nice setting indoor & outdoor. The Queen Creek location is a nice setting. The food is unique & has a taco for about any taste. The queso dip & chips are a must have item. We have tried them all, so I would recommend just trying whatever you prefer to see if you like it. Surprisingly the Democrat was pretty good!! read more

Definitely has many varieties of tacos . Its typical of ordering at counter /food brought to table . We had 4 different tacos - it was interesting that 2 were full with toppings and 2 seemed skimpy . We got Trailer , avocado ,shredded beef, and fajita chicken . Also chips and queso - were good . Refill chips would be nice ! Had half the queso leftover . Overall the service moved quick and everyone seemed pleasant . Really like the mister system outside - good idea ! It's good for a quick bite , but it adds up quick too. Third time was better than the last time. I received the food I ordered and it tasted very good. I did wait awhile for carry out but made sure my order was correct before leaving. I forgot to enter my phone number for the rewards. The cashier did not ask me and could not be added after the order was rung up. Ordered a burrito and one of their chicken tacos and one of their beef tacos. I have to tell the truth and say this is the most unauthentic un ethnic tacos and burritos I've ever had. Their Minute Maid lemonade from the fountain was so horrendous I threw up after taking one sip. It tasted like sewage water. Their food was absolutely disgusting. Food was some where between ok and pretty good. - Trailer Park taco was pretty bland and mostly flavorless - Republican taco was good - Queso and chips were good, but not $8.50 worth of good Service was an issue. My table mate's food (he ordered before me) came out about the same time as I arrived at the table after ordering. By that metric I assumed mine would appear shortly. Not so much. About 10 minutes later the queso chips showed up. For the life of me I can't figure out why that took 10 minutes (poor cheese sauce into bowl, put chips on plate, deliver both items...not a complicated task). As I continued to wait for my tacos I could see people who ordered after me were getting their food. Finally, about 10 minutes later my food showed up. Couple system failures here. First and foremost, they give you the little table pagers when you order. If this is somehow supposed to help the folks bringing out your food figure out where to deliver the food...it doesn't. I watched several servers wander around trying to figure out where orders were to go. This wandering action included my order. Ditch the pagers...they don't work or your staff don't know how to use them. Second failure is ticket time. As noted above, queso in bowl, put chips on plate, deliver order. That shouldn't take more than a few minutes...and no the place wasn't that busy. As for time I took to get the tacos to the table, I have now idea how that got screwed up, but it did. read more

Can't believe that this places doesn't have 5 stars across the board. We've been coming here since not long after they opened pretty consistently a few times a month. Everyone is always super nice. The perfect balance of friendly and engaging without being intrusive (looking at you Dutch Bros...). They're good for a quick checkin, maybe a funny punch line and they're out. If you hint at the need for anything it's on your table before you're done speaking. I will say not the cheapest, but not outrageous and the price is certainly reflected in the quality of their ingredients. Really really love the food and the vibe at this place. One of our favorite go to spots. Even my picky 11 year old is into it. Also very pet friendly patio with pup water bowls. read more
