I wanted to like this place, but it did not live up to the hype. As someone who needs to know some details about what I eat for health reasons, I did appreciate that they publish nutrition information on the website. As many others have mentioned, the place is loud. When we went, the dining room was crowded and it was difficult to have a conversation while we ate. Being an order at the counter, get your own drink place, there wasn't much in the way of service. In my book, that means there's no need to leave a tip. And I never leave a tip before the service is rendered. Despite that, the payment terminal at the counter was more obnoxious than other restaurants about soliciting a tip. There was no way to opt-out of leaving a tip on the main screen. I had to click through a few extra screens to get to that option. I had the Democrat and I thought the flavor profile was very good. Unfortunately, it was also overwhelmingly salty. The tomatillo sauce that came with it was excellent. My partner got the green chili pork and found it to be on the bland side. The refried beans were also lacking in flavor. They were oddly sweet and had a gelatinous texture that was not appealing. We thought the prices were on the high side. Two tacos, beans, and a drink came to $17. A full combo plate at our neighborhood sit-down Mexican restaurant costs less than that. And I don't have to get my own drink there. read more

Kyle in the bar is always welcoming and friendly. My son gets the Mofaux and takes everything off it, the queso is yum, but for health we get the guacamole and chips. We use to get Mr. Orange but they changed the fish supplier so now its a meh, but the Fajita... the Trailer Park regular or trashy ( or with grilled chicken) are awesome! Super engaged and cheerful staff. I stopped in for a drink and appetizer. Got a frozen with grand marnier (a guilty pleasure) and half order of chips and queso. I've spent too much time across the valley and Torchy Taco is in the top ten percent for yummy, casual Mexican. Not bad at all! read more

I was recently on a trip to Austin TX and saw this taco shop everywhere. I knew there was one in Gilbert AZ close to where I live. My wife and I went in on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered 2 democrat tacos a quesadilla that was the special. We also ordered hillbilly queso. The queso was really good and came with plenty of chips. When the tacos finally arrived about 15 min later there was only some salsa on them but they came with nothing extra. The quesadilla came with guacamole and some kinda chipotle sauce but no salsa. So we tried to get some salsa but the only way they have it is to order chips and salsa. So we ordered some chips and salsa. It was supposed to be Roja salsa and it wasn't very red salsa and not much flavor. The brisket meat in the tacos was very salty and not good. We hated that you can't get just a side of salsa. And it was very expensive almost 50.00 bucks. My opinion there is way better taco shops with better food for less money all around Gilbert area. We will not go back. read more

I got the brushfire tacos. Those were delicious with the Diablo sauce. I don't usually chips and queso but was told to because of a recommendation, and man that was a great idea . I love spice and flavor and this place has it. Wife got the shrimp tacos and she gave those a 4.5/5 but that's because I forgot to add the guacamole for her. read more

One of my fav tacos since eating at their original store just west of downtown Austin. Super glad they have expanded to share their food. This location is pretty new, so they are just getting their sea-legs. Regardless, very friendly and attentive staff. Giving one star solely for the fact that they have their phone turned off and there is no way to contact them. They don't even have a corporate number but tell you to call the local store. This the third time I have eaten there in less than a week and so far the food was really good. In fact the queso is excellent and worth going there for just that. However, this time the chips were so salty that after eating three I couldn't eat any more. So basically the main reason I go there I couldn't enjoy. Could not contact the Gilbert location because the message said they are closed with over an hour before closing. Tried calling the Queen Creek store and they had the same message playing. Do not go to torchy's in Arizona is horrible. Have to scrape the salt off of the chips and the dip has no flavor and it's very sick. And the customers are letting their kids play with the lemons and limes in the containers with their hands read more

Went here first the first time and it was awful. Only got a burrito and taco and it took over 40 minutes. Said something after we saw tables sitting getting food and leaving after we sat down and they rudely said its coming. The taco was cold and cheese wasn't even melted. Won't be back. Maybe Scottsdale does better but Gilbert location is awful. And they weren't even busy. Multiple employees just standing around. read more

I love Torchy's. I've eaten it in Texas, Oklahoma & and few other states. It's always delicious. I get the Hillbilly Queso (so good) a Republican & a Democrat. Often times I take half home & eat it the next day (the portions are good sized) & it's still so good. It's always clean & well lit. Staff is always friendly & the food never disappoints. Went to Torchy's today. Since it new there were a lot of young people being trained. Food was really good. But one thing they have to do is not use the same towels to clean the benches/chairs and then clean the tables with them. Please teach them to use different ones for each. Also the manager that was standing behind the cashiers needs to smile instead of looking like she just doesn't want to be there. The only time she smiled was when she came over and looked up at us. Then we got plastic cups for the water and they were both leaking. One of the young women took them away but never brought over some to replace them. My 6 yr old granddaughter loves it but we've have several negative experiences at this location, ranging from wrong orders to slow service. At first we blamed it on just needing to wear out the newness bugs, but it hasn't gotten much better. The problems have seemed to be worse when ordering online for delivery. Fuzzys Taco Shop was a great choice to eat! Food was excellent and perfectly prepared. Food did not take long at all to get out to us. Barry who took my order was very kind and nice enough to recommend his favorites to me, which were amazing. The setting here is very comfortable and open, I could chill here for a while. I was so excited for Torchy's to open in Arizona because I loved going to the Houston locations. Unfortunately today my breakfast tacos were very mid. The brisket on the wrangler taco was good, but the potatoes were so undercooked they were almost raw. I couldn't finish my bacon, egg, and cheese taco because the tortilla was so stale. Tacos were awesome!!! Queso is fire!!! So delicious!! Tried 3 tacos and the crossroads, the fried avocado and the taco of the month. The crossroads brisket one was my fave although they were all really good. It was busy so we ended up sitting outside even though it was 113 out but the misters outside made it fairly pleasant and we were not uncomfortable. We enjoyed our lunch very much. My only friendly suggestion is when the cashier hands you the flashing table number that they explain to new customers how to use it. They may simply say something like - "please place this in the circle in your table and we will bring it out to you." Our poor food runner was looking everywhere for us. We set our stuff on the table when we sat down and completely missed the circle and instructions. No harm done, but i just thought that might be helpful to avoid new customer confusion. We also didn't realize that the food would be brought to us, so we had one of our party standing near the counter waiting to pick it up. This may cut down congestion by the counter as well. All in all we very much enjoyed our first visit. We will be back very soon to try out some more of the different tacos selections and the adult beverages. We are big fans. read more

Had a great experience And the food was so good I even took some TOGO, chips and queso were delicious. I had the tipsy chick which was good and Crossroads. My favorite was definitely the Crossroads. the food is brought to your table and came within 10 mins, it is a little bit loud but of course it's expected on a Saturday night. We were first timers, we met family there, the people were nice and the atmosphere was nice. The food on the other hand was nit so good. I ordered the Democrat taco and the meat was extremely salty, I only took 1 bite. The chips were super salty as well. My husband ordered the tipsy chic taco, he was only able to eat 2 bites, that was too spicy to even enjoy and we're Mexicans and love salsa. We won't be returning. read more

You're better off going to a mom and pap paying 2.95-3 bucks a taco eating 6 of them having a michelada and being right at 20 bucks. I have been to Torchy's Tacos twice, and it has been very good. I had the queso and chips, baja shrimp taco, democrat taco, and tipsy chick taco. The tacos are a nice size, and flavorful. I also liked the slight heat in the queso dip. It will become a Taco Tuesday favorite for me. Nice selection of drinks for Happy Hour, and service is always friendly. Tried this place for the first time tonight. Honestly it was just alright. Cool atmosphere but I did not think the tacos were very good. Interesting flavor combinations and pretty good meat but the tortillas they use are not good. The flour tortillas are like cheap "wonder bread" tortillas from the grocery store. It was almost laughable when we got our order. The republican taco looked like something I made at home. The corn tortillas fall apart. It's tough competition in AZ so it's hard to say that these were good when we have had so many other amazing tacos nearby. The queso was the only thing we thought was great. We did not enjoy the street corn. This meal was just "meh". Not terrible but not good either. It was also overpriced for what you get. Service was good except several Torchy's corporate people or trainers were just standing around unprofessionally talking instead of checking on customers or helping the employees clean etc. We didn't get checked on the whole time we were there to see how our food was and there were are least 10 employees and it was not very busy. If you just want to drink they have a cute bar and atmosphere but I wouldn't recommend the food. read more

I heard great things about this place so I finally gave it a try....IT WAS ALL TRUE! Amazing tacos with a great selection of different combinations. And the margaritas are great too. The bartender was really engaging and provided great service! Probably a fun place to watch a game as well. I'll be back! read more

Before leaving a bad review, I contacted customer service & never received a reply. This is what I sent... We just left your restaurant. It was my husband's 1st visit & my 2nd. The food was yummy. Our issue is that it took forever for the food to arrive at our table. We saw people that ordered after us get their food well before us (including the rest of our family that ordered separately). We went to check on our food and no one could figure out where it was. We talked to 4 different employees regarding our missing food. We had a very hungry 4 year old with us. I asked twice for no salsa on her taco. When our food finally came out we had to send it back, because it had salsa on it. By the time my daughter's food arrived, everyone was done eating We were not offered any type of compensation for our missing and incorrect order. Good customer service could have ensured that we would give Torchy's another try. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. read more
