Roundabout Cafe has their own parking but when we pulled in, most of the parking was taken and so we parked in the stalls available a few steps from the cafe. The cafe has super cute French style seating up front and bar seating on the side. Inside, there are two bistro tables that seats 4 and window counter seating. The restaurant pleasantly asks if you're a single patron, to sit along the window during busy hours. After a short time, the server came to out table and took out drink orders. I chose the Bloody Mary first and then the Margarita after. The bloody Mary had an awesome piece of bacon and two olives. The drink however was weak in the vodka department. I wasn't impressed with the drink at all. The margarita was actually better and was served in a clay glass. This was really nice because it kept the margarita cold and the ice did not melt fast like it does in a glass. I definitely have to get a set of the clay glasses for home. The appetizers we ordered were the flatbread, some calamari, fried pickle spears, and some peach and cold cut stuff on bread (I don't remember what it was called). The fried pickle spears were great! The other stuff were not impressive at all (for me). The only way I can explain my dissatisfaction is that they. Could be great appetizers, but in their attempt to be fancy, they added something that just ruined the flavor of the dish. I've been here before for lunch in the past and had the burger, and it was okay, but nothing to rave about. My second visit here was my attempt to give it a second chance. The view from the outdoor seating is spectacular. The Puget Sound and the treeless golf course makes it a great place to watch the boats and golfers. There is no shade, so wear a hat if visiting outside seating.. I can't say that everyone will have my experience here. Is this restaurant worth a try? Yes, it is worth a try if here playing golf or find yourself in the area. I just wouldn't go out of my way to dine or have drinks at this restaurant. The Tacoma and surrounding area have much better restaurants at more reasonable prices.

I have now been to Topside Coffee Cabin three times. The first time I went, I had ordered a hot chai tea latte and a chocolate chip scone which was wonderful. However the past two times I have been there, I have ordered a Frappuccino, which I can tell you was not enjoyable. The drink was barely blended and was not icy like a normal Frappuccino should be. Today, I ordered a Chocolate Chip Frappe which clearly did not taste like there was any chocolate chip flavor. The ice melted very soon after the barista handed me my drink. Additionally, my friend had ordered a Strawberry smoothie which is just syrup with ice. The drink melted rapidly and you could see the divide between the frothy ice and the syrup. I was under the impression that their smoothies would be made with frozen/fresh fruit, some milk, and well blended ice, but that was not the case. Their version of a smoothie was not a smoothie. It was simply liquid strawberry syrup with some lightly blended ice. Not impressed, almost like a whipped snow cone. Lastly, I have taken my dog into this shop before and the cashier has asked if I have wanted a puppucino for my dog. I appreciated the offer though declined and just bought a drink for myself. However, as I stood there waiting for my drink to be made, the barista said to me "just so you know, we don't allow dogs in here." My friend and I both were surprised as there are no obvious signs which tell us this information. In addition, their drinks are pricey for a drink that isn't even made right. I paid $4.50 for an icy cold drink which didn't stay icy for long. I would love to support this cute coffee shop but I genuinely think that the drinks should be true to what you are paying for. read more

It's rare to find coffee shops that haven't succumbed to the hospital white aesthetic, so this is so refreshing on the head. It is the ideal shop to study in. The cups and plates are my favorite thing about this place. The cups are handmade and just so stinking cute. The baristas are so welcoming every single time I come in, they look like they just love their job and love to chat with the customers. The outside of the shop is a mint green which really throws me off because the inside is so cute. The parking situation is a little limited as well, there's a few parking spots near the shop and the rest is street parking. They have a large selection of pastries and some food but know that if you come in the afternoon there probably won't be much left, they go pretty quick. Amazing shop, it's a different aesthetic than what most shops are but it feeds that "homey" craving that I have when I want to study at a coffee shop.
