While I have cafes I prefer in Lakewood, I wanted to try something new, so I found EM Boba & Coffee after looking up places online I ordered the Vietnamese coffee with the egg cream topping. I go to quite a few Vietnamese cafes in Seattle, so I have my standards. Unfortunately, their coffee did not meet my standards at all. The coffee tasted like it was made straight from one of those Vietnamese instant coffee packets. I do drink that here and there at home, but it's not the kind of taste I want from a cafe. The egg cream was pleasant though and helped make it taste better. I probably wouldn't come back for the coffee, but I'm still interested to see what the other drinks were like.

Black Sesame Einspanner - black sesame cream was smooth and the actual black sesame slowly dropped to the bottom, since grounded sesame will result in physical bits. Slightly sweet but not too much. Similar sweetness with the coffee, a solid ca phe with a perfect amount of condensed milk added to soften the bitterness. Solid drink, would love the black sesame on a tea drink because I chugged the coffee and do not need that much caffeine.

My favorite dish here is the biscuits and gravy, I get it with an egg on the side. Enjoy that with some coffee and it's weekend breakfast/brunch perfection! A while back they moved to a smaller location and I was skeptical but honestly, it's so warm and wonderful here and the environment is so great that squeezing into a smaller space doesn't bother me a bit! I love the small-town cafe feel of this place. We'll be back again and again for their coffee, warm food, and excellent service!
